1. The document describes several experiments involving light and color, including using a spinning color wheel or prism to demonstrate how white light is composed of the visible color spectrum.
2. One experiment uses colored paper to show that black absorbs the most heat from a light source, while white reflects the most heat.
3. Another experiment uses a prism or water glass to separate white light into a rainbow spectrum, and then uses a magnifying glass to recombine the colors into white light.
The slideshows we present are a synthesis of a photo exhibition about Nursery Schools of the city of Piacenza. The exhibition was a result of a training for teachers about documentation material communication.
How can we communicate education professionals’ considerations to a non-professional audience?
How to avoid any sort of educational jargon?
It’s been a challenge to communicate years of experience in early childhood education, pedagocic quality of services, education policies and much more through a synthetic, effective and above all accessibile documentation.
This is the reason for which we’ve carefully considered our language, for there’s a close relationship between the way we talk about the world and the way we think about the world: digging into words, cleaning them from any abused technical term help us to re-think our job.
Children and the way we engage with them.
We simply described what happens in Nursery Schools in the town of Piacenza.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2. My name’s Pietro, I’m nine years old, I live in Marina di Carrara with my sister and my parents. I attend the forth grade of the primary school and my favourite subject are maths and science . My name’s Haranty, I’m nine years old, I live in Marina di Carrara with my brother and my parents. I attend the forth grade of the primary school and my favourite subjects are maths and science.
3. Level 1- 5-8 years old Subtractive colour mixing Colour wheels in classroom From the primary colours to get white Colour wheels show how visible colours are related. Colour wheels are based on the colour theory, which is based on the physics of light. WHAT YOU NEED: Paper board disk pencil PROCEDURE From paperboard children cut disks and colour them on different ways. They use only 3 primary colours (red, green and blue) And then 6 colours (green, yellow, red, magenta, blue and cyan) Children put together pencil and coloured paper with the stick. They spin them on the table or on the floor and …. white light appears!!! An experience suggested by OŠ Preska, Medvode Šlovenia
4. What we found : When the coloured disk turns around our eyes can’t see each colour but they see only the result of the mixture of the different colours of light. This is the reason why the disk seems to be white-grey, even if on its surface there ar actually seven colours. INVESTIGATIONS: 1. What colours can you see in each case? 2. Does the colour depend on the size of each section? 3. What happens if the bigger part of the circle is coloured with the same colour? 4. What happens if you only have black and white coloured sections? 5. What happens if the colour wheel spins faster (slower)?
5. 8 – 12 years Colour temperatures Equipment: • Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo , brown , black and white paper. • 1 Thermometers • Bright sunny day or light source. An experience suggested by Slovacchia team
6. Aim: To see what colours absorb the most heat. . Method: Line the sheets of paper up under light source, leave them for ten minutes and then get the children to record the temperature on the surface of the paper to see which is the hottest . What we found : Not all the colours have the same temperature: White is the warmest and black is the hottest.
7. You will need: - A prism or a glass of water - A sheet of white paper - A Torch or a ray of sun light Light experiments: RAINBOW An experiment suggested by Spain
8. In Autumn we decide the write place for our eco-garden INSTRUCTIONS: 1)Put the sheet of white paper under the prism 2) Let the ray of light go trough the prism CONCLUSION we can see that white light is made up of a mixture of other colours.
9. Extension: After the explanation, ask the children; “ If we put the colours of the rainbow together again, will we see white light?” Place the magnifying glass between the rainbow and the prism at about 30 cm from the last one, in order to make the seven colours of the rainbow pass through the centre of the magnifying glass
10. Explanation: When the colours pass through the centre of the magnifying glass, they converge and join all together, so we can see the mixture of these colours as white light again.
11. CEIP NARCISO ALONSO CORTÉS (Valladolid) SPAIN Light Experiments by Lourdes Valencia Level 2: 9 - 11 year olds EXPERIMENT 2 ‘ RAINBOW’ You will need: - A piece of card. - Scissors - A prism or a glass of water - A sheet of white paper - A Torch - A magnifying glass When the light goes through the prism or the glass of water, we can see that white light is made up from a mixture of other colours Experiments made by the pupils’ Comprehensive School "M. Buonarroti"Marina di Carrara secondary school class 1° Secondary school class 1A
12. When the colours pass through the centre of the magnifying glass, they converge and join all together, so we can see the mixture of these colours as white light again. You can see the rainbow in many other situations, such as a CD or ..... a star of crystal ..... Something similar happens when you form a rainbow in the sky. What happens The "white" light is actually made up of different colors that the prism can separate. This effect is called chromatic dispersion.
13. CEIP NARCISO ALONSO CORTÉS (Valladolid) SPAIN Light Experiments by Lourdes Valencia Level 3: 12 - 16 year olds EXPERIMENT 3 You will need A torch viewed through the glass of milky water looks yellowish , like the sun in the daytime. MODEL SKY Experiments made by the pupils's Comprehensive School "M. Buonarroti"Marina di Carrara secondary school class 1° Secondary school class 1A THE SUN IN THE DAYTIME.
