This document summarizes several studies on premarital sex among Filipino youth. It reports that acceptance of premarital sex has increased over time, with over a third of youth approving of it. Many first sexual experiences are unplanned and without protection. The document examines factors influencing premarital sex like culture, media, and lack of sex education. It recommends strengthening family and keeping youth engaged in school and church to help address the issue.
This topic will provide a review on the different practices, values, belief and culture of the Filipinos in the Philippines during the Pre-hispanic, Spanish, American and Japanese period.

Drink The Water, Flee The Fire: TEACHING OUR CHILDREN SEXUAL PURITY BY FOCUSI...Thomas Ciesielka
Â
Given the disappearance of biblical moral values beneath the cultural tidal wave of pornography, sexualized advertising, and the celebration of LGBT ârightsâ in the media and in corporate officesâŚwhat can a parent do? Rise up, moms and dads; itâs time to get serious about teaching Godâs Word and eternal, unchanging values to our kids.
Today more than ever, nutrition appears to be a testing ground where differences and inequalities between North and South of the world measure against each other, in particular with regards to childhood. n developed countries, if on the one hand obesity and overweight are dramatically increasing among young people, on the other adults has been affecting more and more by cardiovascular diseases and diabetes (type 2), pathologies on which (bad) nutrition habits, usually acquired during childhood and adolescence, have a strong effect. In developing countries, the scenario confirms the existence of a discouraging and apparently never ending emergence: millions of children are underweight because of chronic nutritionâs deficiency and malnutrition is one of the first childish deseases.

This workshop will focus on getting you organized and knowing how to use the last few weeks of the term to maximize your academic success and set effective goals.
How do we raise our boys? Which impact does it have on their emotional and physical health? Which initiatives exist to challenge the traditional vision of masculinity?
Sex is good, healthy, natural. And yet, we managed to transform the act of making love and babies in one of the most sinful activity on the planet.
Our sex education is now mostly done through male-gaze porn.
Lingering myths about menstruation and sexuality lead to terrible consequences. And women even experience an orgasm gap!
So how do we shift the sex balance? How do we promote more sex positivity and happiness?
Child abuse is estimated to affect one in four homes. Due to cultural
stigmas, many do not get reported, yet the effect of child sex abuse to
victims and survivors is so devastating, they kept it to themselves and
many times they bring to their grave without being healed or being
whole in their lifetime. This presentation intends to answer key
questions related to child sex abuse, and its consequence prevention
and treatment. It also intends to take a look at the child sex abuser and
the occasional presence of co-dependents, who make perpetrators
bolder in their acts.
In order to have citizens capable of creating peace in the world, we need stable families that instill values and capacities for peacebuilding. Marriage and the family serve a unique and essential purpose for optimum human development. Research is showing that straying from that purpose weakens the family, increasing disadvantages for the next generation and the future. Clarifying the value of the family will help us strengthen this essential building block of peace.

Â
Kerry Frizelle, Counselling Psychologist and Psychology Lecturer at the University of KwaZulu-Natal presented on âVulnerable Sexualitiesâ at the July 2014 MRC/info4africa KZN Community Forum.
Kerryâs presentation showcased the findings of a research survey conducted by two Psychology Honours students, Olwethu Jili and Khanyisile Nene, under her supervision. By critically analysing media reports that highlighted youth sexuality, Kerry and her students uncovered a variety of assumptions and underpinning principles that negatively portrayed youth sexuality in South African newspapers that are aimed at an adult readership.
It's no longer about Millenials, the youth you encounter today will be mainly Gen Z. Here are some characteristics to consider if we want to reach out to this generation.

TEST BANK for Operations Management, 14th Edition by William J. Stevenson, Verified Chapters 1 - 19, Complete Newest Version.pdf
2. Definiton
⢠Premarital Sex is sexual relationships engaged
before marriage.
⢠For the purpose of this report we will focus
more on sexual relationships between man
and woman particularly within the period of
adolescence especially in the Philippines.
3. Philippine Reports on Sexuality
⢠1994 Survey on the views on sexuality by 11,000
Filipino youth whose ages ranged from 15 to 24
years old.
⢠2002 Study regarding the values placed by
Filipino youth on human sexuality, related topics,
and their relationship to the rising incidences of
sexually transmitted diseases. This surveys
participants included 292 randomly chosen
individuals from nine colleges of a university.
4. Philippine Reports on Sexuality
⢠Study published in 2007 regarding the
occurrences of premarital sex among Filipino
high school adolescents. Study group had
20,000 students 15-24 years old.
⢠2009 Survey regarding their opinions on
relationships, love, sexuality, and related
items. This study that targeted 3276 third year
high school to third year college participants
aged 13 to 18 years old.
5. Derivative Studies
⢠2002 Young Adult and Fertility and Sexuality
Study (YAFS 3)
⢠State of the Philippine Population Report, 2nd
Issue (SPPR02) found at popcom.gov.ph
7. There is a slide in PMS tolerance
⢠From 18% of Philippine youth okay with PMS
in 1994 to 37.2% approval of a man having
PMS (23.7% are okay with women having
PMS)
8. First Time
⢠First sexual encounter is commonly unplanned (55%)
say that it was something they did not plan to happen
at that time, but they went along with it anyway.
⢠Forty percent of first PMS and 70 percent of most
recent PMS were without any means of protection.
⢠Nearly three out of 10 first sex experiences were not
planned or totally against the will of the youth.
Younger females (5%), males (1.3%).
⢠Likely victims of rape are those with disadvantageous
background or being out-of-school, of low education,
no schooling at all, not currently working or in live-in
situation.
11. US findings
⢠A massive shift in the youth landscape in that
many young people no longer treat sex as a
moral issue.
⢠Oral sex has become a symbol among kids as
young as eleven years old. It is no longer
associated with romantic relationships but rather
is a thing girls do to boys so that each obtains
social status. [Michael Osit, Generation TEXT]
⢠âSex is a game and a toy, nothing more.â Says a
student. [Chap Clark, Hurt]
14. How About in the Church?
⢠No studied data available but anecdotally the
situation seems to be that expectations of
elders regarding the sexual lives of young
people may no longer be realistic.
15. Conclusions
⢠Clark found there to be more of a feeling of
abandonment rather than a sexually charged
atmosphere in the high school he went to.
⢠He got the impression that for many of the
teens, sex was just something to do to escape
loneliness.
16. Physical Reasons
⢠Puberty and Adolescence
⢠Early Dating: Early Sex
⢠Alcohol and Drugs
⢠Birth Control: The âMythâ of Safe Sex
⢠Our Cultureâs Motto: âIf It Feels Good Do Itâ
⢠Fallout of Prior Sexual Abuse
24. Laws
⢠Under Philippine laws, PMS is illegal.
⢠As far as our research has uncovered there
has only been one incident where this has
affected individuals.
⢠In 2009, the Professional Regulation
Commission (PRC), revoked Hayden Kho's
medical license for unethical conduct and
immorality.
25. RH Bill
⢠Under the bill, age-appropriate reproductive
health and sexuality education is required
from grade five to fourth year high school
using âlife-skills and other approaches.â
⢠There is mandatory sexuality education
starting grade 5, and "malicious
disinformation" is penalized.
26. Catholic Church
⢠Consider last year: CBCP sued the
governmentâs sex education plan and also had
public reactions to the condom giving act by a
DOH head.
27. Evangelical Church
⢠Among evangelicals use of education to teens
particularly through sermons during special
occasions such as Valentineâs Day, debuts
⢠Campaigns: True Love Waits
⢠Books: I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Joshua
Harris, Lovestruck by Ronald Molmisa
28. Family
⢠Culturally sex is a taboo subject. The sensitive
parts of the body are not to be mentioned,
and in fact there are no specific words
assigned to some of them, as well as some
sexual behaviors, so that it is not possible to
translate the English word equivalent. When
talking about sex, Filipinos use euphemisms
instead. This makes sexual education by
parents almost unnatural.
30. Hebrews 13:4
⢠Let marriage be held in honor among all, and
let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will
judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
31. 1 Cor. 6:18
⢠Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a
man commits are outside his body, but he
who sins sexually sins against his own body.â
32. Galatians 5:19
⢠"The acts of the sinful nature are obvious:
sexual immorality, impurityâŚâ
33. John McArthur on Sex in the Scripture:
The message of Scripture regarding sex is simple
and consistent throughout: total physical
intimacy within marriage is pure and ought to be
enjoyed (Hebrews 13:4); but remove the
marriage covenant from the equation and all
sexual activity (including that which occurs only
in the imagination) is nothing but fornication, a
serious sin that is especially defiling and shameful
âso much so that merely talking about it
inappropriately is a disgrace (Ephesians 5:12).
39. Unwanted Pregnancies
Reasons teen pregnancies should be avoided.
⢠Risk for malnutrition
⢠Risk for inadequate prenatal care
⢠Risk for abortion
⢠Risk for fetal deaths
⢠Risk for cervical cancers
42. Rebecca Singson, M.D.
⢠Keep them at home with an intact family
⢠Keep them in school
⢠Keep communications open
⢠Keep them spiritually grounded
43. Recommendations
⢠Strengthen parentsâ roles perhaps through
traditions.
âAnd these words that I command you today
shall be on your heart. You shall teach them
diligently to your children, and shall talk of
them when you sit in your house, and when
you walk by the way, and when you lie down,
and when you rise.â Deuteronomy 6:6-7
44. Recommendations
⢠Coordinate and work with those in positions
to do something regarding PMS data:
principals, law-enforcement people & media
⢠Build a movement by educating your youth
and local church, running a campaign or
developing and launching more material on
this matter.
Editor's Notes
Relate proposition scenario
Malicious disinformation would be in regard to hospital benefits, work benefits.
