 I worked with three other
people, Owen, Evaristo and Sarah
 Organized ourselves by deciding times
together and volunteering for roles, making
each person was content with their part
 We didn’t encounter any major problems
because we worked well as well as efficiently
together
 One major weakness we had was that there
were too many of us trying to set up the
camera at once when it would have been
quicker to just have one person on it
 Next time I would have liked to create a better
storyboard that showed each shot more clearly
 Created a storyboard together, basic guideline
for our sequence
 All pitched in ideas, wanted to be unique and
use different shots like worms eye
 After storyboard we looked around our set to
see if our shots were possible and would look
good
 Went through quick practices to allow the
actors to understand the scene and what they
had to do
 Quick practices gave me and the
camerawoman time to analyse some of the
shots and maybe adjust them
 Main piece of technology was the
Canon HD Cameras that we used to
shoot the sequences
 Learnt how to setup cameras and
tripods
 Learnt how to makes sure the
camera spirit levels are good
 Learnt about how to adjust the
camera for better angles and shots
 Learnt that digital cameras are more
efficient
 Our sequence was very successful in my
opinion
 We worked professionally, quickly and
had a good relationship on and off
camera
 Comfortable working with each other
 Performances increased because of this
 Nothing to improve in hindsight, I
believe we worked together extremely
well.
 Has allowed me to develop new skills and
improve existing ones
 Time management helped me to become
aware of what can be done and how well it
can be done in the time given
 Group working skills, began to understood
about compromises and acceptance of new
ideas
 Organisational skill improved, preparation
helped a lot
 Most important learnt skills, Technical skill
of production, Learnt essential things e.g.
setting up cameras and editing. Extremely
 Used Adobe Premiere
 Learnt that we needed to make the sequence
flow well
 Learnt to accept each other ideas for quick
decisions when editing
 Time was planned well
 Weaknesses was the lack of editing experience
most of us had
 In hindsight we could have practised editing
together a bit more

  1. For the Prelim tasks I worked with three other people, Owen Edobor, Evaristo Kitoko and Sarah ………… . I worked with them from learning how to set up cameras and tripods to finishing our Prelim task. We organised time management by getting together and deciding when to shoot by telling each other when we can or cant make it, we also assigned roles by volunteering ourselves for each role. We were all instantly content with out roles and began to trust each other to do well in our parts, due to this we did not come across any problems and worked together well.Our first task involved us taking a variety of shots, this was our first time working with a camera and allowed us to practice it also allowed us to realise one of the major weaknesses within our group that we could correct. For example, it was pointed out to us that there were too many of us trying to set up the camera at once, it would have been a lot quicker for the cameraman to do it on their own, this was a weakness that we realised and then improved on the next task. I think we performed well as a group without many mistakes, we managed our time efficiently and behaved in a professional manner. The only thing I would do differently next time is to have created a better storyboard that showed each shot more clearly.
  2. To plan our sequence we gathered and created a storyboard on A3 paper, this storyboard became the basic template and guideline for our sequence. When creating the storyboard we all pitched in ideas, although we were told to make it simple we wanted to be unique and experimented with different shots we could use such as birds eye and worms eye.After creating the storyboard we then began to look around our set to see if our shots could be made and utilized, we then went through quick practices of the sequence to help the actors prepare and understand what they have to do. Practising before shooting also allowed me and the camerawoman Sarah to analyse the shots we will use and perhaps adjust them before moving to shooting the sequence.
  3. We used various bits of technology in our tasks, the most important one was the camera. We used Canon HD Cameras to shoot our sequence, we learnt many new skills when using these cameras such as how to set up cameras and tripods properly, checking spirit levels and how to adjust the camera for different angles. We learnt that digital cameras are very efficient and allows for clips to be moved easily across different computers or software.
  4. I think that our sequence was extremely successfully, what worked well was the fact that we all worked professionally, quickly and had a good relationship on and off camera. We felt comfortable working with each other and so this increased our performance in each of our roles. In hindsight I don’t think that we could have done anything to improve because I believe we worked so well together.
  5. The Prelim Task has allowed me to develop and increase many important skills that are essential for media. The task made us constantly consider time management, especially when shooting our sequence. This helped me to become more aware of what can be done and how well it can be done in the time given.I also think that our group working skills were increased because of this task, it made me realise and understand how to work well by making compromises and also to accept and the ideas of others. Organisational skills were also improved by the preparation that we were taught to do before shooting our sequence.I think that the most important improvement that we made was our technical skills of production, we learnt essential things such as setting up cameras and editing that will definitely benefit us in the future.
  6. We learnt many things during the editing process and from the editing software Adobe premiere that was used, we learnt that we needed to make the sequence flow nicely without any problems. Our group were very acceptant of each other ideas, this let us make quick decisions that we all agreed upon.We planned our time well when editing and even came back during break periods to make sure our work was going to meet the deadline. Weaknesses in during the editing process was the lack of editing experience three quarters of our group had, however I believe that we managed to grasp editing successfully quickly. Next time we could have had a bit more practise editing together.
