Owen was part of a group that included Michael, Evaristo and Sarah. They each had specific roles in filming and editing a video project. Some issues they faced included time management problems due to external factors, lack of accuracy with their storyboard, and a faulty tape. Improvements could be made to the quality and clarity of storyboards. Better editing rotas may also increase efficiency. Overall, the group's preliminary task was successful despite the challenges, but the clarity of dialogue and shot selection could be improved if they did the project again.

 Issues: Time management due to external
factors, lack of accuracy with storyboard and a
Faulty tape.

3.  Improvements: Quality of story board (more
clarity in designs) This could also be seen as the
accuracy of the storyboard as it is how close the
written designs are similar to the actual prelim.
 Improvement: Editing Rotas. I would suggest
rotas should be formed for the editing as it may
be a more quicker and efficient way of doing
things.

4.  Planning: Group discussions had taken place
and a story board was made to help form our
ideas and structure them.

5.  The Technology used was a ‘Cannon HD
Camera’. A lot of care to be taken using this
camera as is cost a lot of money, also a lot of
checks and adjustments had to be done and
made every time the camera was about to be
used. Additionally I would suggest when using
this form of technology you must make sure
that you are confident with all the types of
shots and technical terms.
 We used the software ‘Adobe premier’ for
editing

6.  Things to consider: when planning our prelim
we had to consider the amount and type of
space we had to work with. E.g. Different
levels of ground we had to work with and the
size of rooms we could work with.
 Furthermore we had to consider the timing of
the transitions
 Also we had to consider whether the shots we
had taken are suitable and usable for shot that
we wants to get.

7.  Overall I believe my groups Prelim task was
rather successful as we did not encounter any
major problems and our prelim ran smoothly.
 With our sequence I believe the thing that
worked well is the proportions of all the shorts,
they were mostly accurate.
 Although our task was successful if we were to
do it again an aspect that I would attempt to
improve is the clarity of the dialogue
throughout the sequences and considering the
appropriate shots for what is happening .

8.  From this task I have learnt that one sequence
can be shot from every angle to have a sense of
professionalism and variety.
 Furthermore I have learnt that time
management is key as this effects what you get
done and sometimes the quality of your final
outcome.
 Finally I have learnt that a good base of
knowledge is key when using the camera or
any software.

9.  From the editing aspect of this task I have
realised it is extremely important to know the
order of your sequence as this will help you to
know what parts to cut and put together.
 Patience and care are two characteristics
required when editing
 When my group wanted to make decisions we
all consulted in each other to make things
easier and quicker.
