Evaluation of Preliminary task
Firstly we had to get into groups of three as a minimum requirement for the task. From here
I used a program called inspiration 8 in order to come up with several ideas for the task;
although personally I think it would have been easier to arrange my ideas on another
program such as word due to the fact that the information would have been easier to see
and organise and also I don’t have much prior experience in using inspiration 8. Once I chose
my main idea I got to work on my script which was roughly a page and a quarter in length.
One of the issues that we as a group should have tackled more efficiently was time
management, as a result of our time management we started filming later than some of the
other groups. In the future I would have focussed on completing my own individual ideas for
the task and my script quicker as this would have allowed me to start filming quicker.
Furthermore if I had completed a storyboard to a better standard I would have been able to
complete the filming quicker because I would have had more clarity on the different shots
throughout the process. We were able to find a suitable room for the filming quickly this
was mostly due to the fact that I decided to filmall of mine after school. The only real issue
we encountered during the filming process was that one of the members of our group
wasn’t able to help us out and due to this I had to film my work using myself as an actor as
well; this just meant that the whole process took slightly longer than usual. Once I had
finished my editing I went straight on to the editing process, however the deadline was
coming up very shortly so as a group we were forced to finish our editing after school this
gave us just enough time t apply the finishing touches to our work.
I believe that in the future the main are I need to improve on is being more conscientious
about the time management involved in work as this played a major part in creating
unnecessary pressure. As well as that in the film you can make out some of the cuts which
ruins the fluidity of the end product, if I had more time I would have liked to edit these
individual areas further.
