Analyzing The Movie The Help
The title of the movie selected by the group was The Help . The Help is a movie
released in August 2011. The movie explores the unequal treatment suffered by the
maids at the hands of their white, middle class oppressors. During this era in the
south laws was in effect which constricted the ability of the maids and their
sympathizers to raise awareness of the social inequalities which were, and still are in
several areas, culturally acceptable. The Help depicts the issues of cultural
inequalities more than a hundred years after slavery had been abolished.
This movie centered around three women in 1960s in Jackson Mississippi: Aibileen,
who functions as a babysitter and servant for the Leefolt family; Minny, a frank
house keeper; and Skeeter, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This movie touches on the biological and social perspectives of racism. The ism s
that was identified in the movie were internalized racism, sexism, classism, and
prejudice. The isms were overt in the movie. We felt as if racism and sexism were
very prevalent in the movie more so than any of the other ism s that we identified.
For example, in one scene the mother wanted the daughter to get married and not
work. She expressed to her daughter that finding a husband will make her life better,
and that she does not need to work or go to school. Another ism and example we
identified was Internalized racism is defined as the internalization by people of racist
attitudes towards members of their own ethnic group, including themselves. For
example, in the movie Abilene was prevented from using the bathroom toilet. A
bathroom toilet which resides in the same house she takes care of the Caucasian
ladies child. The Caucasian women felt that African Americanpeople have diseases,
and that they should not be allowed to use the same bathroom toilet. As we identify
classism it is when prejudice against or in favor of people belonging to a particular
social class. For example, in the movie, Skeeter s mother kicked out a long time
working maid name Ms. Constantine. Ms. Constantine was skeeter care giver as a
child. Skeeter mother kicked out Ms. Constantine because she wanted to impress
Caucasian women who inducted her into a white s only society. They treated Ms.
Constantine like she was beneath them solely due to the fact that she was the
black maid, and the white women felt as if they were better than her because they
were rich. Prejudice is a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual
experience. The movie displays prejudice against black maids. The white women felt
as if black maids were supposed to work for them, and not express their opinions or
voices. The Help was a story

Manliness Through Camera Angle And Zoom Analysis
The Change in Manliness Through Camera Angle and Zoom By April of 1945, the
second World War was drawing to a close. Nazi Germany was unraveling as the
allies were closing in on Berlin. However, the battle for the Pacific was still raging.
The movie Hacksaw Ridge by Mel Gibson encapsulates the vicious fighting
between the Americans and Japanese during the battle of Okinawa. The movie
depicts the struggle Private Desmond Doss (played by Andrew Garfield) during
boot camp, and battle, faced from his fellow soldiers because of his extreme
religious practices. In the middle of the film, during boot camp, we can see that the
platoon bully Doss in the barracks, especially Private Smitty. In this scene, through
camera angle and camera zoom, Mel Gibson encapsulates the discrimination and
group mentality of the platoon against Doss. After the initial assault however, and
after Doss single handedly saves seventy or more soldiers, the platoon waits for Doss
to finish his prayer before assaulting Hacksaw Ridge the second time. By showing
this scene, Mel Gibson destroys the connotation that a man is only judged by his
physicality and toughness. By showing that Desmond is the most courageous man in
the platoon without being violent, it shows that religionand self belief is what a man
is truly judged on. The first shot of the barracks invites the audience to see the
harassment through Desmond s eyes as he is sitting on his bed reading his bible.

Auto Paint Match Painting
The auto might be in a decent condition, and fuel effective, yet after a few years of
utilization the auto may require some essential repairs. Its paint may be blurred and
it may have some scratches, breaks and marks that no measure of waxing can cover.

Also, the issue is, scratches can now and again happen at or close to the rakish or
bend surfaces of the auto, for this situation they are exceptionally perceptible and
harder to repair. Today, paint less scratch evacuation strategy is as of now being
used to tackle these issues. Unique apparatuses are utilized to press, work, or rub
down on the influenced part until it is back to its ordinary shape. This ought to be
done while guaranteeing that the paint does not get harmed. Also, for those scratches
on difficult to achieve regions, for example, the edge of the auto s floor, fill and
shower techniques are utilized.
Body Frame Straightening:
For autos that accomplished crash with another vehicle or question sufficiently huge
to bring about a longitudinal or horizontal harm on the auto s casing, body outline
rectifying is required. An electronic device is utilized as a part of this procedure. A
ultrasound innovation measures the disparity of the edge arrangement and afterward
a laser is utilized to precisely adjust the edge back to its unique shape.

The Cardiovascular System Of The Human Body
People often exercise in elevated temperatures and maintain an intense work out to
improve their maximum conditioning levels. Participating in such exercise
challenges the homeostasis of the human body. The way that the body reacts and
adapts to physical stress depends on various components. Specifically, exercising in
the heat can overload the body and decrease its capability to adapt to the stress that it
is being put through (Nielsen, Hales, Strange, Christensen, Warberg, Saltin, 1993).
Compared to a more neutral environment, exercising in the heat results in alterations
of the circulatory system, thermoregulatory system, and endocrine system(Nielsen,
Hales, Strange, Christensen, Warberg, Saltin, 1993). Despite these alterations, there
are several guidelines that coaches and athletes should follow to allow the body a
proper time frame to acclimate to the harsh temperatures , but the most effective
practice is heat acclimation ten to fourteen days prior to the date of maximum
exertion (Powers Howley, 2015). Allowing the body time to acclimate and learn how
to handle the stress from the heat, helps with acute and chronic adaptations. Being
aware of how the heat effects the body and understanding the physiological responses
as well as acute and chronic adaptations, should allow one s body to safely and
efficiently exercise during increased temperature.
There are multiple physiological responses depending on what specific system
someone may be referring to. For the
Literary Interpretation In The Birth-Mark
The Birth Mark is a story about a husband, Aylmer, who looks at his wife,
Georgiana, as imperfection, due to the mark on her left cheek. The setting of the
story was based in the late 1700s, between the laboratory and a boudoir. In the
story, a lot of detail goes into the laboratory and the boudoir that help characterize
them and help give the overall metaphor at the end of the story. The details of both
places show the effort Georgiana is going through to satisfy Aylmer. It also helps
one visualize what setting they are in, also, how it disturbs the project at hand. If
one were to be an allegorical reader, it would present the ruin Aylmer is putting
Georgiana through. In the story, figurative speech supports the setting by
specifying what the places are and where they occur. The lab was classified as
depressing, gloomy, and dark while Georgiana s boudoir is bright and airy. The
mood setting of a place is figurative speech. The central metaphor of the story is the
name given to it, The Birth Mark. Georgiana was not only beautiful but she had a
birthmark on her which makes her stands of from other girls. It makes her unique in
some ways. The one person who not wanting to accept this mark on her face is
Aylmer, he husband. He claims to not be able to accept this distinguishing trait about
Georgiana so he tries to take away this factor on her face that makes other stare. This
gives us the idea to take this birthmark as the metaphor in the story. This stands for
Julius Caesar Monologue Essay
Caesar Monologue 1 This monologue occurs just after Antony s speech regarding
Caesar s death caused by Brutus. The Plebeians suggest to burn down Caesar s
house and revenge his death. Antony finds out and tells them to wait. Antony says
that Caesar gave them money, and all of his walkways in his private gardens. In
this monologue, Antony goes to visit Octavius and hopes that he is in a good mood
so he will give them anything that he would like or need. Antony says that they will
probably have guards standing at the front gates because they heard that Antony riled
up all the people. This passage is significant because it shows what type of caring
person Antony is and how he s going through all of this trouble just for the death
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
In the novel, The Bell Jar, the main character, Esther goes through some deep
depression that leads to attempts of suicide, and eventually lands her in several
different private hospitals. In Esther s life, there are many factors, internal and
external, that lead to the collapse of her life. The majority of these factors come
from her surroundings. A main part of Esther s life is her writing and her future as
an English major in college. Once she begins to lose her ability to read and write, it
takes a big toll on her character, creating one of the main reasons she becomes
depressed. Even the thought of being sent back home to live with her motherall

Both of these large failures in Esther s career begin to compile the descent of Esther
into her state of depression. Not only was her writing a big variable in her
depression, her family life also played a big role.
Esther s family life was the second largest factor that lead to her depression. At
home, Esther only lived with her mother; her father had died in the 1940s when
she was a child. On top of that, Esther was not very fond of her mother. Although
her mother was nice and meant well, Esther did not like her, at all. Esther even
planned to run away from home to live with Doreen during the beginning of her
depression. Her mother was not Esther s best friend, and now that she was seeing
Doctor Gordon, she did not like the thought of her mother thinking she was insane.
No. But I didn t like the idea of Doctor Gordon talking to my mother one bit. I
thought he might tell her I should be locked up. I picked up every scrap of my
letter to Doreen, so Doctor Gordon couldn t piece them together and see I was
planning to run away, and walked out of his office without another word (135).
Esther s mother is trying to do what is right for Esther, but Esther does not like that
her mom even believes she is crazy. Her mom even takes her to the doctor, so she
is not on Esther s good side. Esther believes that she is fine, but between seeing a
psychiatrist and her mother thinking she may be insane, a lot of pressure is place on
Adoni s Creed
The 2015 Creed Movie Poster has a banner of the famous Italian Stallion , Sylvester
Stallone, blurred out in the background. The poster has the images focusing on the
two main characters of the film, Adonis Creed and Rocky Balboa. Stallone and
Jordan, the two main characters, are facing each other with ambitious eyes. The
poster has very nominal colors, making it easier for the viewers to see the desire in
their eyes that they have for fighting. The gray scale color precludes the audience
from being overwhelmed by the bright colors and also articulates the true meaning
behind the life of a boxer and what they have to go through in life to get to where
they are now. The black washed out color throughout the poster signifies, power,

The images and signs that are being portrayed on the movie poster are patriarchy; it

The Creed poster is appealing to the eyes because of the strength being expressed in
the fists of the legendary retired boxer, Rocky. Confidence is conveyed through

those are not true. If you spay your female animals they will have fewer possible

Psychoanalytic Criticism Of Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe work can be related to allot of literature criticisms, but it is most
familiarized with psychoanalytic criticism and New Historicism because the
stories he wrote had allot to do with the mind and how people would behave also
he wrote stories based off old history and beliefs. Psychoanalytic criticism deals
with the mind of the characters. Poe s work relates most to psychoanalytic
criticism because he wrote allot of short stories that dealt with the mind of killers
and how certain situations would affect a person s behavior and the influence it
had on them which lead to horrible murders and disasters. His work can also relate
to New Historicism as he implanted historical events that caused death amongst
individuals and made stories based off it. Poe often wrote things that no one else
had the courage to do because back then they would be considered insane and
deviant. Stories like the black cat , The tell tale heart , The masque of the red
death , and Morella all deal with horror, murder, and sudden death. The short story,
The black cat gives the audience a story line visual of the mind of an alcoholic and
the way his behavior changes over time, in different scenarios the character starts
to turn abusive to the animals that he once loved. The man then starts to isolate
himself from the black cat which was his favorite animal until one day he snaps
and kills the black cat by hanging it to a tree with a rope. Days later a cat comes
back around him that shows almost the same identity of the black cat, but the only
difference is the white patch which is the bottom part of the cat body. the man then
starts to grow jealous as his wife shows attention to the new cat which then leads
him to murder his wife and stuffing her dead body in a wall, he later confesses to
the crime and spends life in prison. This story is very dark and gives a clear
identification of the mind of a troubled individual who then takes out his anger by
being abusive to the animals in his environment and later his wife. Different aspects
in Poe s stories look deep into the mind of a person and the reasons that leads to
murder and death. Furthermore, Poe used words and had a story line that would
automatically give an
Impact Of The Three Strike Laws On The State Of
California
The effectiveness of the three strike laws has been a major concern among
researchers; it has sparked the attention of several indidviduals from the first piece of
legislation passed in the United States. This paper considers the impact of three
strikes law in the state of California; a states which have implemented this form of
mandatory sentencingand known to have the strictest regulations regarding this law.
It will addresses the effects of the law on the crime rate and prison populations. Also,
it would explain why this legislative is in need of revision, regarding the choices of
punishable offenses.
Introduction
During the early 1990s, states began to enact mandatory sentencing laws for repeat
criminal offenders; the statute became known as three strikes law . Three strikes law
is state law that delivers a much harsher punishment for criminal offenders who
commit their third felony offense. The three strike legislation was designed to protect
society from dangerous individuals who show a pattern of lawlessness by keeping
them behind bars and off the street with the hopes to deter others from committing
similar criminal offenses (Peak, 2010, p. 312). Currently they re 28 states including
the federal government that have implemented the three strike law.
The first state to enact the three strike law was Washington in 1993, California then
followed in 1994. California three strikes law mandates a sentence of 25 years to life
for a third felony

Wordsworth And Shelley s On Powers And Illusions Of

The Romantic period, a time that writers such as Wordsworth and Shelley focused
their writing in the centre of life and social importance. An important aspect of
Romanticism: its emphasis upon the power and terrors of the inner imaginative life
(Watson, 2012, p. 1). The Prelude celebrates Wordsworth s life retained through
memories and with the act of remembering, depicting emotions and experiences.
Whereas, Shelley and the Ode to the West Wind engaged his audience with inner
and outer lives situations, ideas and elements of nature that represent his own
position and ideas. This essay will compare and contrast Wordsworth recollections
and Shelley dramatizations of the powers and terrors of the inner imaginative life .
Also considering, rhyme scheme, stanza forms, the reasons for the use of assonance
and alliteration, and other poetic techniques. Finally, how do these effects relate to
the main question. When given consideration to the poems, the descriptions
demonstrated a deeper power of inner imaginative life. The power as stated comes
from the heart or the soul, but also somehow from outside (The Open University,

of the medieval age. Upon which side of the battle field, if either, did true betrayal

Familial ties with Warwick did not stop him from siding with Edward IV, nor did

Thomas was motivated by personal gain and this strategy served him well. He was

A Note On Different Relation Of Function
Recursions with Folds
Apart from using the recursion directly, fold is available to occur recursion scheme,
which applies a function to data structure/Functor to manipulate its contents. Figure 1
The above illustrates the summary of different relation of function. Below we will
focus on further explaining of how to isolate the recursions from the code in order to
gain the benefit of convenience, which is easier to control, repair and further develop
the code.
In (inception) Fix (fixpoint)
The whole idea if In and Fix is all about where the recursion of code performs in the
data type, which isolate the recursion to a single spot, usually represented by
parameter k.
First of all, we would have a simple code with direct recursions and ... Show more

The idea of writing the value of type fix List a is shown as below:
As compared with List a and List a. we can make a assumption of:
List a в‰… List a k в‰… (Fix (List a))
By applying the assumption into Empty and Cons,
Empty :: List a k
Empty :: List a (Fix(List a))
Cons :: a k List a k
By substituting an integer, 20, into a and Empty into k,
Cons 20 Empty :: List Int (List a k)
Instead of this presentation, we want to make this in one level deeper via In,
Cons 20 9In Empty ) :: List Int (Fix (List a))
In Cons 20 (In Empty ) :: Fix (List a)
Thus, applying this idea into the case, we can conclude that In is a function to
construct a new value of type Fix f giving the functor of f.
Data Fix f = In(f (Fix f)) 1
In :: f(Fix f) Fix f Here is another example for using Fix, In to isolate the recursion:
data Fix f = In (f (Fix f))
data List a k = Empty | Cons a k toList :: [a] Fix (List a) toList [] = In (Empty ) toList
(x:xs) = In (Cons x (toList xs))
Applying 1 to this, data Fix List [a] = In ((List a)k) where k is the parameter for
recursion size. toList = foldr f k where Foldr:
Foldr :; (a b b) b [a] b
In order to abstract from f(Fix) to Fix f, k :: Fix (List a) k = In (Empty )
f :: a Fix (List a) Fix (List a) f x ys =
Similarities Between Books And Books
Internet and books are two very comparable terms as both provide valuable
information, but vastly differ when we compare the time taken to provide the
information by the two. Before the internet was available to us books were the only
source we turned to for any bit of information, we used to flock to the library and
searched for the bookthat contained relevant information. It is now thing of past to
go to library as the whole library is now at our finger tips in the form of internet. One
marvels at the amount of information and speed with which one can get information
regarding anything. Both internet and books are two very different sources but
earlier generation still prefer to read books and like to collect them as souvenir.

differences of getting information from book and form the internet. As sources of
information, internet and books have many differences term of efficiency,
accessibility and reliability. First of all, getting information from internet and books
may be differ in term of efficiency. As an information warehouse, internet is much
faster for finding information while books take a longer time to obtain the
information we need. The internet requires less time and effort to get the information
that the user looking for. User can simply type the keyword in the searching engine

Informal Assessment
1. Informal Assessment:
I had a conversation with the head classroom teacher for the student and she
outlined the student I assessed, Hamilton Brown, and his diagnosis. He is in the 4th
grade and is diagnosed with Developmental Disability, and is in a self contained
Special Education classroom at the Opportunity School program in Oswego, Illinois.
Per the interview, I was able to select a few items I believed would have a better
chance at being reinforcement items for this specific student. I performed an informal
sit down interview with the teacher and asked her, along with the student s
paraprofessional, about what items he preferred. The teacher told me ultimately, he
enjoys eating snacks, preferably sweet ones. Additionally, his favorite... Show more

Because of time constraints, I was able to conduct one session. I presented five
different tangibles to him and it was discovered that he enjoyed handheld toys
more than larger toys. Additionally, he preferred 1 handed toys and picked those
before the toys he was required to follow more rules in (i.e. solve a puzzle). He
found interest in all the items, and had I used extra time to conduct another
assessment, the results would show to be more accurate. The session was cut short
after Hamilton stood up and walked away from the table. This led me to believe that
the toys were either not as reinforcing or the soft music playing in the hallway was
too distracting for him to
The Static Character In The Catcher In The Rye
With the amount of details happening at such a rapid pace, the reader would expect
there to be a change in Holden s behavior, but there is not one, thus revealing that
he is a static character for the entirety of the novel. Holden s high speed retelling of
what happened to him, gives the reader that idea that Holden is going to change
and become a new person, especially since he has gone through so much in such a
little amount of time. This is not the case because as The Catcher in the Rye
closes, Holden says I could probably tell you what I did after I went home, and I
got sick and all, and what school I m supposed to go to next fall, after I get out of
her, but I don t feel like it. I really don t (Salinger 373 374). This gives the reader
some sort of indication that he never changed and is just going through the motions
and acting like he is changed. When in reality, this just sets up again for him to drop
out and do the same things that he did all throughout the novel. Holden even
indirectly states that he likes for things to stay the same, The best thing, though, in
that museum was that everything always stayed right where it was. Nobody d move
(Salinger 212).This not only shows the reader that Holden likes stagnation, but also
gives a cause as to why he has not changed from the beginning of the novel. Now it
is, the novel is at its end and Holden himself confirms to the reader this truth that
Salinger has been gradually sprinkling around in the text. It is not
Analysis Of The March By John Lewis
The graphic novel trilogy, The March, tells a series of events that happen in John
Lewis s life for the better and for the worse. Throughout the books, he is faced with
challenges that test his ability to stay true to his beliefs. When Lewis was a child,
he received his first Bible from his uncle which was what sparked his heavy faith
in God. During his spiritual journey, he began to listen to the teachings of MLK Jr.
who impacted his life greatly. Lewis became the SNCC s newest executive
coordinating committee which opened his eyes to all the violence that was really
apparent at the time. John Lewis, even from a very young age wanted to become a

He applied the principles of the church to what was happening now, today. It was
called the social gospel... and I felt like he was preaching directly to me. (Lewis
and Aydin 1:56). MLK Jr. sparked John Lewis s love to fight for what s right to
him personally, for example, his acceptance into Troy State. But if you want to go,
we ll help... we ll raise the money to file those suites, and we ll support you all the
way. But you must keep in mind... your parents could lose their jobs. Your family
home could be bombed or burned. (Lewis and Aydin 1:71). He and MLK Jr.
worked on many projects together as it was in both of their interests. Lewis
became very involved with non violent protesting and everything MLK Jr.
introduced him to. Everything the two of them did was always associated with
the teachings of Christ. His words liberated me. I thought this is it... this is the
way out. (Lewis and Aydin 1:78). MLK Jr. was in charge of a group called SNCC.
In that group, he dealt with the religious aspects of the racism in the country. John
Lawson was asked to become head of the executive coordinating committee which
meant he would be even more involved in the group. I saw myself as a doer. I never
had any thoughts of being chairman... and I was elected chairman of SNCC. (Lewis
and Aydin 2:142). He went to campaign after campaign and gathered the knowledge
that things were only getting more and more violent. The black masses are restless,

Taming Of The Shrew And 10 Things I Hate About You
Analysis
Have you ever had a relationship that has moved on because of change? Maybe he or
she was too different from when things started? The play Taming of the Shrew by
William Shakespeare and the movie 10 Things I Hate About You explore how the
relationship between Katherine and Petruchio have evolved throughout cultural
differences. Whether showing this through Petruchio, Katherine, and how their
relationship overall maneuver they act differently or stay the same because of
cultural influence. This dictates their views and behaviors in their relationship.
Petruchio and Katherine certainly have many differences from 16th century Italy to
early 2000s United States. Let s explore these differences now, starting with
Petruchio.
If you have seen 10 Things I Hate About You, you would definitely remember the
rebellious and sexy Patrick. Whether that be his black combat boots, long hair and
rugged appearance, or the fact that he ate a live duck, this certainly shows. On the
other hand, if you have read the play Taming of the Shrew you would see Petruchio

and is tamed by Petruchio. When asked by Petruchio to give a speech to the less
loving wives, she lectures, And place your hands below your husband s foot; In
token of which duty, if he please, My hand is ready, may it do him ease. (Act 5 Sc. 2
193 195) This explains that Katherine is telling the other ladies to do whatever their
husbands command and that you should do anything for him. This is quite a contrast
to the beginning of both the play and movie where both Katherine s are rebels and are
very independent. Together, though, Katherine and Petruchio s relationship also has
The Effect Of Exercise On Cardiovascular Function
Introduction:
Tokui and Hirakoba (2007) define exercise efficiency as the given rate of power
output in relation to the amount of energy expended in a given time (as cited in
Gaesser and Brooks, 1975). Efficiency during exercise varies due to several
biomechanical and physiological factors namely, contraction velocity and the force
produced by muscles (Tokui and Hirakoba). Research shows that exercise efficiency
ranges differ among the various types of exercise modalities commonly used in
clinical and recreational settings (McArdle, F. Katch, and V. Katch, 2010).
Measuring exercise efficiency allows researchers to examine which modalities of
exercise are most efficient, enabling athletes and individuals in rehabilitation to
choose the proper mode of training to fit their needs. During rehabilitation or
training, improving cardiovascular function is a essential measure of outcome; thus,
doctors, physical therapists and coaches are left to decide which mode of exercise
will better yield results based on an individual s abilities and disabilities (Barfield,
Sherman and Michael, 2003).
Different exercise modes may elicit varying physiological responses; therefor
professionals aiming to augment their patient or athlete s rehabilitation and training
regimens should consider the latter (Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Different
exercise modes target variable body segments, some being full body and others
targeting only the lower or upper body. Due to differing numbers of

COVERAGE DRIVEN VIP FOR AVALON MEMORY MAPPED INTERFACE
USING UVM
Abstract:
The verification phase carries an important role in design cycle of a System on Chip
(SoC). A verification environment may be prepared using SystemVerilog without
using any particular methodology but that will be different for every variation of the
design. The UVM testbench increases robustness of functional verification, and
allows you to create flexible, adaptable, scalable testbenches. It offers quantifiable,
measurable progress, and changing test sequences can be used to easily increase
code coverage. This project describes the use of coverage driven verification for
Avalon Memory Mapped Interface VIP using UVM methodology. The Avalon bus is
a simple bus architecture which makes the connection between on chip processors
and peripherals together into a SOPC. It is an interface that specifies the port
connections between master and slave components, and also specifies the timing by
which these components communicate. Avalon Memory Mapped (Avalon MM)
interfaces can be used to implement read and write interfaces for master and slave
components. In this work all components of testbench has been created to make a
VIP. The coverage collected on mm_cvgrp is 91.6%. The environment used random
stimulus which helps in regression to create different scenarios.

As the genre of Hip Hop and Rap spread around the world, it became a social and
cultural platform for artists. Most people assume that it has the biggest influence on
the black community in America, but the music has spread far beyond that specific
audience. Critics describe Hip Hop music as homophobic, racist, vulgar, and
violent. Tricia Rose contradicts this statement perfectly: Rappers lyrics really do
offer gripping tales of loss, sorrow, exploitation, rage, confinement, hopelessness,
and despair about conditions that are denied in the larger society ( The Role Of Hip

As soon as this music genre became popular among teens and young adults, a
plethora of songs came out with important social messages. In the society we live

title being a suicide prevention hotline number. To prevent contraversy on the new

Authoritative US GAAP is primarily developed and maintained by the FASB and the

The Importance On Knowledge And The Quality Of
Knowledge
Encompassing a significant portion of human knowledge such as the arts and
physics, an academic discipline is a subject area studied in higher education. Over
time, knowledge in academic disciplines naturally develops and advances.
Knowledge is what one acknowledges to be true because one believes in the
evidence provided. Knowledge quality can be a measure of the degree of
excellence of the knowledge gained. Personal knowledge can then be of quality
when it is useful to the individual, and shared knowledge, when it contributes to
societal wellbeing and advancement. However, such a definition suggests
numerous issues. First, quality can be abstract and difficult to measure. Next, not
every type of knowledge is equally useful to everyone; knowledge gained doesn t
have equal quality for everyone. Additionally, methods of gaining knowledge are
developing, so how can the quality of knowledge found a century ago compare to
ten years ago? Knowledge at any point is considered to be of the best quality at the
time, but this standard of quality changes. What was of quality yesterday may not be
so today. If the definition of quality is evolving as knowledge develops, then can
knowledge of enduring quality ever be found? Considering that some disciplines are
more certain than others, withstanding quality depends on the methods in which
knowledge is found in different disciplines. Considering architecture as an art,
personal and shared knowledge are subjective. Where movements are

The Intervention plan, written for the board of directors of Bank X, consists of two
parts. The first part includes a diagnosis of information which define the core issues

Bank X into the right direction.
The board presented a set of problems, what we should solve, the most concerning
are the lack of loyalty among the employees and the lack of honesty of the Bank
towards its environment. We used two diagnostic approaches to reach the core of the
problems Bank X faces, the Onion model invented by Hofstede, which help us to
understand the different layers of the culture in the bank and the Behaviour approach

The diagnosed core issue, the outcome of the analysis, is related to the organizational
culture of Bank X. This connection ultimately leads to the question: How can the
management of Bank X overcome these cultural oracles concerning their lack of
loyalty, which mainly results because of the high fluctuation, the high risk taking of

What effect would adding HCl or NaOH to the liver or potato have? Clearly
explain your reasoning. It would change the pH of the liver or potato as HCl is
very acidic and NaOH is very basic. Changes in pH can denature the protein in the
enzymes which could result in no reaction. For most enzymes, they require a very
specific pH, so when a solution becomes too acidic or too basic, no reaction can
occur as the enzyme will become denatured by the abrupt change in pH.
6. What effect would slightly cooling or heating the test tube have? Slightly cooling
or heating the test tube could also result in the proteins in the enzymes becoming
denatured by the changes in the temperature. Enzymes also require very specific
temperatures to function properly, so if the temperature changed too dramatically no
reaction would occur. If the change in temperature was not dramatic, it could just
affect the rate of reaction, so it might slow down the reaction, but the reaction would
eventually occur.

After this initial flourish of Pyrmont in manufacturing, production, trade and freight,
the area experienced the effects of urban decay, as Sydney moved on into the 20th

Persuasive Essay On LGBT Rights
The LGBT community has made progress towards gaining more rights in recent
years, although it has been an uphill battle. In the past year alone LGBT marriage
has been legalized in Australia, Malta, and Germany, with the legalization of LGBT
marriage in the U.S. in 2015 also being a resounding success. In addition, LGBT
rights have also become a greater discussion topic in households, radio shows, and
broadcasts around the world. However, while a lot of progress has been made,
LGBT individuals and their allies are still struggling for the basic human rightsthey
deserve.
Discrimination feels like a relic of the past something Americans struggled against
and that was outlawed in the 1960s. But this was not the case for LGBT
individuals. Today, in America, land of the free and the home of the brave, a lesbian
can be fired simply for being gay. A gay couple can be refused a wedding cake for
the most important day in their life. A gay couple could be refused their right to
adopt a child. Much of this discrimination is chalked up to a concept called
religious freedom. Religious freedom is the right to deny service based on the idea
that it conflicts with the business owner s religious beliefs, and has been used most
recently to defend discrimination against LGBT people. The world has heard this
argument many times before. According to the LA Times, 1960s...a small chain of
barbecue restaurants in South Carolina, said that its owner s freedom of religion
would be violated if
Community Acquired Pneumonia Research Paper
Pneumonia
Pneumonia is a curable disease. What is pneumonia? Pneumonia is an infection of the
lungs. It can be in one or both of them at the same time. It causes inflammation to
form in the air sacs causing fluid in them and makes it very difficult to breath. (http:/

According to Pneumonia History pneumonia is a worldwide disease caused by an
infection of the lungs producing coughing, fever, chills , muscle aches, and difficulty
in breathing for those who suffer it (http://www.news medical.net/health/Pneumonia

The goals of treatment are to cure the infection and prevent complications. Most
people can be treated at home by following these simple steps. You must drink
plenty of fluids. This will help loosen up the phlegm and you will be able to cough it
up. You must get plenty of rest. Take the lowest dose of cough medicines that you
can. You must control your fever. It is always important to take your antibiotics when
you are suppose to.
They are used to treat bacterial pneumonia after it is decided the type that is causing it.
If you do not get better the doctor may have to change the medicine. Cough
medicines are used to control your coughing. This way you are able to rest some.
The reason your body makes you cough is to get the fluid loose in your lungs so it
can be removed. This is a necessary thing that must happen for you to get better.
Fever and pain reducers can be taken as needed to make you more comfortable
during your recovery. There are sometimes when people have to be admitted to the
hospital before they will get better. Some reasons may be if you are having trouble
breathing, high or low temperature, you are confused or having high blood
pressure. These are serious problems that only a hospital will be able to help you
with. Children are also at a great risk for the same problems. If someone is admitted
to the hospital, they will
The Supernatural Of Macbeth By William Shakespeare
In Macbeth, the supernatural is the guiding force behind Macbeth s action and an
integral part of the structure of the plot. The supernatural appears in many forms: the
witches, Banquo s ghost, and the four apparitions. The supernatural serves as a role
of manifestation of evil temptation that seduces Macbethin murdering his comrades.
Macbeth, who was seen as a hero, became a corrupt, murderous man who would
remove all that he sees as a threat to him. Meeting the witches awaken to his
ambition of killing his comrades; second was the sanity and judgment to wander off
to a murder s mind with the appearance of Banquo s ghost. Third was the meeting
was the apparitions, which left Macbeth feeling guilt and insecurity. The supernatural
played a large role that motivated Macbeth s action to the extent where his moralities
became imperfect, and his path of murderous and evil deeds.
The witches represent Macbeth s evil aspiration and are the motivation that drives
Macbeth to executing his friends. The witches first prophecy was that Macbeth will
be the Thane of Cawdor (1.3.51) and be King hereafter (1.3.52). Macbeth questions
why give him such title when the Thane of Cawdor is living healthy and the King is
still alive, but after the King announce the new title to Macbeth, he believes that his
second prophecies will come true. This prompted Lacy Macbeth into convincing
Macbeth that it is necessary to kill and motivates him to consider murder as a way to
the throne. The

Larry Dossey has recognized three major periods in the history of medicine: Era I
medicine (mechanical medicine), Era II medicine (psychosomatic medicine), and
Era III medicine (nonlocal medicine). Era I mechanical medicine and which started
approximately in the 1860s, reflects the prevailing view that health and illness are
completely physical in nature, and so all treatments should be physical ones, such
as surgical procedures or drugs. In Era I, the mind or consciousness is
fundamentally equated with the functioning of the brain. Era II started to take form
in the period following World War II. Physicians began to realize, based on scientific
evidence, that disease has a psychosomatic aspect: that emotions and feelings can
influence the body s functions. Psychological stress, for instance, can contribute to
high blood pressure, heart attacks, and ulcers. This was an extreme advance over Era
I (Dossey, 1999).
Sun Tzu Chapter 4 Summary
In chapter 4 of Sun Tzu: Art of War, tactical disposition explains the importance of
defending existing positions until a commander is capable of advancing from those
positions in safety. It teaches commanders the importance of recognizing strategic
opportunities, and teaches not to create opportunities for the enemy.
Line 4.1 Sun Tzu said: The good fighters of old first put themselves beyond the
possibility of defeat, and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy. This
means to win the battle, the right opportunity is needed, which may take time to find.
During that time of unreadiness, we may face the attack of enemy and defeated by
them. So, the defence comes first. In business, the cash cows may be exposed to attack

For an instance, if a weaker force holding a defensible higher position, it will defend
more and hoping perhaps to see a weakness in their attackers into which they can sally
forth. However, when he is attacking, this shown that he is in superabundance of
military strength. Strong forces can successfully attack a defensive position only if
they are strong enough to break through. This may require very significant attacking
advantage. During the war, a skilled defensive general hides in the most secret
recesses of the earth and adept in concealing his advantageous until the enemy
difficult to detect or scout. Oppositely, a skilled attacking general will attack like
flashes forth from the topmost heights of heaven and able to disorder or surprise his
enemy. Thus, the leader must unashamedly know their strengths and weaknesses in
both defense and attack and act accordingly. If they are weak in attack, they should
seek an unassailable position which is easy to defend. Concealment is an art that does
not literally meet going underground, If the enemy cannot find us, we may hide in
plain sight. If they cannot see our strength or know our plans,
Examples Of Postmodernism In Pulp Fiction
Postmodernism is a movement in the field of art, architecture and criticism. It
includes a way of interpreting culture, literature, art, philosophy, history, economics,
architecture and fiction in a way which is not easily convincible. Pulp Fiction is an
American comedy crime movie directed by Quentin Taratino which was released in
1994. Pulp Fiction is a term used to describe a huge amount of creative writing
available to the American public in the early nineteen hundreds. In this paper we
discuss about postmodernismand the movie Pulp Fiction. Then we will look in to the
amount of postmodernism that director showed in this movie and whether we can
call this work as postmodern or not. There are many sources which support these both
statements.

To understand the movie one should have to give more concentration, thus you
should be active audient rather than a passive one. Intertextuality is also included
in the film as we have discussed above. It is the text that collects and samples
various surfaces of previous texts to create a new one. Film has postmodern
dialogues where we can see casual conversation about drugs, sex and crime. For
example first Vincent and Jules discuss about food and then about drugs and
murder. Film shows 50s iconography in the Jack Rabbit Slims diner, the 60s pop
music that scores its storms and their preceding calms, the 70s cool exhibited by
almost all the characters. Another example is Butch s gold watch that he so dearly
treasures and risks his life to take it back from his old apartment. The film s legacy
is understandably wrapped up in the history of independent cinema. There lot of other
scenes in the movie which support that it is postmodern movie. So I strongly agrees
that Pulp Fiction is a postmodern

The Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism was released in 1967,
giving recommendations to the federal government on steps to be taken for equality
across ethnicities. The primary recommendation was for the implantation of a policy
for official bilingualism, making both English and French of equal importance in
Canada (Language rights and judicial wrongs: Official bilingualism jurisprudence in
Canada s provincial courts. Pg 11). The report also recommended that bilingualism
be increased in all of the provinces. Once Pierre Trudeau gained office one of his
first things on his agenda was to bring in the Official Languages Act (OLA) in 1969,
making both French and English equally recognized in Canada. Trudeau did not
support the nationalists in Quebec with their goal of separatism and this was his way
to make French Canadians feel they were of greater importance to the county
(Language rights and judicial wrongs: Official bilingualism jurisprudence in Canada s
provincial courts. Pg 12). Trudeau saw that this policy should strengthen national
unity in Canada through various ways. It was thought that making the French
speaking of equal importance as the English speaking in Canada it would reduce the
rising pressure coming from Quebec to separate from Canada.. The bilingualism was
also a hope that across Canada communications would become easier due to the

Critical Understanding Of Teaching Philosophy Essay
In our centre self review report on play pedagogy in relation to Lion Kindergarten s
teaching philosophy statement we will be underpinning the theoretical ideas around
play and what play is and showing a critical understanding of play and playfulness.
We will be identifying play in relation to children s learning and development, and
teaching within New Zealand early childhoodsettings. We will then be identifying
and critically discussing two aspects of play that are particularly important to the
centre, and examine their strengths and challenges with reference to contemporary
play theory, curriculum planning, and images of the children, of children and
learning. These two aspects include relationships and the notion of free play. And we
will be incorporating theoretical perspectives of play to support the evolving of the
centers philosophy in relation to experimentation around their pedagogy of play.
Above is our teaching philosophy statement and we have highlighted key ideas we
believe to be the most important part of our statement. We believe in free play that
involves the individual child as well as with their peers and teachers. We strongly
believe in child initiated learning experiences based on children s interests. This can
lead to a much richer learning experience for children when it is based on what they
are intrigued about.
The meaning of play can be very hard to define in an early childhood context. What
is play? Does all learning involve play and does all
For Many Years, Academics And Athletics At The Ncaa
Division
For many years, academics and athletics at the NCAA Division 1 level have been
guided by different priorities, admitting college athletes who are unqualified for an
education of that level just because of their ability to perform on the playing field.
Now more than ever, professional teams are scouting student athletes well into
their high school days. In a lot of cases, these athletes need to spend anywhere from
one to three years in college before they can be drafted. This has caused many to
wonder what kind of an education colleges are really providing these student
athletes. In many cases, students are given special classes with less work, so that
they can pass. There needs to be steps to fix the problem. But first, we must see why

Many in higher education argue that participation in Division I athletics generates
benefits for the entire institution, including donations, applications, regional
economic returns, school spirit, and even state support. If those returns are in fact
true, which both the report and recent research question, the new Delta report says
that may not be enough to justify the divergent trends in academic and athletic
spending, especially during an economic downturn. Possible benefits aside,
comparisons of spending on athletics and academics raise questions about
institutional priorities and whether rising athletic subsidies are appropriate,
particularly in the current budgetary environment, the report states. For many
institutions, spending on athletics is sacrosanct, even when academic spending (such
as for faculty pay and academic programs) is being cut or frozen . The report did not
include spending for Division II or Division III programs. The report notes that,
during the downturn, while many institutions faced financial pressure and cut
academic programs, only a few Division I institutions including the University of
Maryland at College Park, the University of California at Berkeley, and Rutgers
University cut athletic teams or spending to cope with budget

  • 2. Analyzing The Movie The Help The title of the movie selected by the group was The Help . The Help is a movie released in August 2011. The movie explores the unequal treatment suffered by the maids at the hands of their white, middle class oppressors. During this era in the south laws was in effect which constricted the ability of the maids and their sympathizers to raise awareness of the social inequalities which were, and still are in several areas, culturally acceptable. The Help depicts the issues of cultural inequalities more than a hundred years after slavery had been abolished. This movie centered around three women in 1960s in Jackson Mississippi: Aibileen, who functions as a babysitter and servant for the Leefolt family; Minny, a frank house keeper; and Skeeter, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This movie touches on the biological and social perspectives of racism. The ism s that was identified in the movie were internalized racism, sexism, classism, and prejudice. The isms were overt in the movie. We felt as if racism and sexism were very prevalent in the movie more so than any of the other ism s that we identified. For example, in one scene the mother wanted the daughter to get married and not work. She expressed to her daughter that finding a husband will make her life better, and that she does not need to work or go to school. Another ism and example we identified was Internalized racism is defined as the internalization by people of racist attitudes towards members of their own ethnic group, including themselves. For example, in the movie Abilene was prevented from using the bathroom toilet. A bathroom toilet which resides in the same house she takes care of the Caucasian ladies child. The Caucasian women felt that African Americanpeople have diseases, and that they should not be allowed to use the same bathroom toilet. As we identify classism it is when prejudice against or in favor of people belonging to a particular social class. For example, in the movie, Skeeter s mother kicked out a long time working maid name Ms. Constantine. Ms. Constantine was skeeter care giver as a child. Skeeter mother kicked out Ms. Constantine because she wanted to impress Caucasian women who inducted her into a white s only society. They treated Ms. Constantine like she was beneath them solely due to the fact that she was the black maid, and the white women felt as if they were better than her because they were rich. Prejudice is a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. The movie displays prejudice against black maids. The white women felt as if black maids were supposed to work for them, and not express their opinions or voices. The Help was a story

Nazi Germany was unraveling as the allies were closing in on Berlin. However, the battle for the Pacific was still raging. The movie Hacksaw Ridge by Mel Gibson encapsulates the vicious fighting between the Americans and Japanese during the battle of Okinawa. The movie depicts the struggle Private Desmond Doss (played by Andrew Garfield) during boot camp, and battle, faced from his fellow soldiers because of his extreme religious practices. In the middle of the film, during boot camp, we can see that the platoon bully Doss in the barracks, especially Private Smitty. In this scene, through camera angle and camera zoom, Mel Gibson encapsulates the discrimination and group mentality of the platoon against Doss. After the initial assault however, and after Doss single handedly saves seventy or more soldiers, the platoon waits for Doss to finish his prayer before assaulting Hacksaw Ridge the second time. By showing this scene, Mel Gibson destroys the connotation that a man is only judged by his physicality and toughness. By showing that Desmond is the most courageous man in the platoon without being violent, it shows that religionand self belief is what a man is truly judged on. The first shot of the barracks invites the audience to see the harassment through Desmond s eyes as he is sitting on his bed reading his bible. Smitty is hanging in the background,

  • 6. The Cardiovascular System Of The Human Body People often exercise in elevated temperatures and maintain an intense work out to improve their maximum conditioning levels. Participating in such exercise challenges the homeostasis of the human body. The way that the body reacts and adapts to physical stress depends on various components. Specifically, exercising in the heat can overload the body and decrease its capability to adapt to the stress that it is being put through (Nielsen, Hales, Strange, Christensen, Warberg, Saltin, 1993). Compared to a more neutral environment, exercising in the heat results in alterations of the circulatory system, thermoregulatory system, and endocrine system(Nielsen, Hales, Strange, Christensen, Warberg, Saltin, 1993). Despite these alterations, there are several guidelines that coaches and athletes should follow to allow the body a proper time frame to acclimate to the harsh temperatures , but the most effective practice is heat acclimation ten to fourteen days prior to the date of maximum exertion (Powers Howley, 2015). Allowing the body time to acclimate and learn how to handle the stress from the heat, helps with acute and chronic adaptations. Being aware of how the heat effects the body and understanding the physiological responses as well as acute and chronic adaptations, should allow one s body to safely and efficiently exercise during increased temperature. There are multiple physiological responses depending on what specific system someone may be referring to. For the
  • 7. Literary Interpretation In The Birth-Mark The Birth Mark is a story about a husband, Aylmer, who looks at his wife, Georgiana, as imperfection, due to the mark on her left cheek. The setting of the story was based in the late 1700s, between the laboratory and a boudoir. In the story, a lot of detail goes into the laboratory and the boudoir that help characterize them and help give the overall metaphor at the end of the story. The details of both places show the effort Georgiana is going through to satisfy Aylmer. It also helps one visualize what setting they are in, also, how it disturbs the project at hand. If one were to be an allegorical reader, it would present the ruin Aylmer is putting Georgiana through. In the story, figurative speech supports the setting by specifying what the places are and where they occur. The lab was classified as depressing, gloomy, and dark while Georgiana s boudoir is bright and airy. The mood setting of a place is figurative speech. The central metaphor of the story is the name given to it, The Birth Mark. Georgiana was not only beautiful but she had a birthmark on her which makes her stands of from other girls. Psychoanalytic Criticism Of Edgar Allan Poe Edgar Allan Poe work can be related to allot of literature criticisms, but it is most familiarized with psychoanalytic criticism and New Historicism because the stories he wrote had allot to do with the mind and how people would behave also he wrote stories based off old history and beliefs. Psychoanalytic criticism deals with the mind of the characters. Poe s work relates most to psychoanalytic criticism because he wrote allot of short stories that dealt with the mind of killers and how certain situations would affect a person s behavior and the influence it had on them which lead to horrible murders and disasters. His work can also relate to New Historicism as he implanted historical events that caused death amongst individuals and made stories based off it. Poe often wrote things that no one else had the courage to do because back then they would be considered insane and deviant. Stories like the black cat , The tell tale heart , The masque of the red death , and Morella all deal with horror, murder, and sudden death. The short story, The black cat gives the audience a story line visual of the mind of an alcoholic and the way his behavior changes over time, in different scenarios the character starts to turn abusive to the animals that he once loved. The man then starts to isolate himself from the black cat which was his favorite animal until one day he snaps and kills the black cat by hanging it to a tree with a rope. Days later a cat comes back around him that shows almost the same identity of the black cat, but the only difference is the white patch which is the bottom part of the cat body. the man then starts to grow jealous as his wife shows attention to the new cat which then leads him to murder his wife and stuffing her dead body in a wall, he later confesses to the crime and spends life in prison. This story is very dark and gives a clear identification of the mind of a troubled individual who then takes out his anger by being abusive to the animals in his environment and later his wife. Different aspects in Poe s stories look deep into the mind of a person and the reasons that leads to murder and death. Furthermore, Poe used words and had a story line that would automatically give an

The Effect Of Exercise On Cardiovascular Function Introduction: Tokui and Hirakoba (2007) define exercise efficiency as the given rate of power output in relation to the amount of energy expended in a given time (as cited in Gaesser and Brooks, 1975). Efficiency during exercise varies due to several biomechanical and physiological factors namely, contraction velocity and the force produced by muscles (Tokui and Hirakoba). Research shows that exercise efficiency ranges differ among the various types of exercise modalities commonly used in clinical and recreational settings (McArdle, F. Katch, and V. Katch, 2010). Measuring exercise efficiency allows researchers to examine which modalities of exercise are most efficient, enabling athletes and individuals in rehabilitation to choose the proper mode of training to fit their needs. During rehabilitation or training, improving cardiovascular function is a essential measure of outcome; thus, doctors, physical therapists and coaches are left to decide which mode of exercise will better yield results based on an individual s abilities and disabilities (Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Different exercise modes may elicit varying physiological responses; therefor professionals aiming to augment their patient or athlete s rehabilitation and training regimens should consider the latter (Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Different exercise modes target variable body segments, some being full body and others targeting only the lower or upper body. Due to differing numbers of

COVERAGE DRIVEN VIP FOR AVALON MEMORY MAPPED INTERFACE USING UVM Abstract: The verification phase carries an important role in design cycle of a System on Chip (SoC). A verification environment may be prepared using SystemVerilog without using any particular methodology but that will be different for every variation of the design. The UVM testbench increases robustness of functional verification, and allows you to create flexible, adaptable, scalable testbenches. It offers quantifiable, measurable progress, and changing test sequences can be used to easily increase code coverage. This project describes the use of coverage driven verification for Avalon Memory Mapped Interface VIP using UVM methodology. The Avalon bus is a simple bus architecture which makes the connection between on chip processors and peripherals together into a SOPC. It is an interface that specifies the port connections between master and slave components, and also specifies the timing by which these components communicate. Avalon Memory Mapped (Avalon MM) interfaces can be used to implement read and write interfaces for master and slave components. In this work all components of testbench has been created to make a VIP. The coverage collected on mm_cvgrp is 91.6%. The environment used random stimulus which helps in regression to create different scenarios. Introduction: A verification engineer s fundamental goal is ensuring that the device under test (DUT) behaves correctly in its verification

The Importance On Knowledge And The Quality Of Knowledge Encompassing a significant portion of human knowledge such as the arts and physics, an academic discipline is a subject area studied in higher education. Over time, knowledge in academic disciplines naturally develops and advances. Knowledge is what one acknowledges to be true because one believes in the evidence provided. Knowledge quality can be a measure of the degree of excellence of the knowledge gained. Personal knowledge can then be of quality when it is useful to the individual, and shared knowledge, when it contributes to societal wellbeing and advancement. However, such a definition suggests numerous issues. First, quality can be abstract and difficult to measure. Next, not every type of knowledge is equally useful to everyone; knowledge gained doesn t have equal quality for everyone. Additionally, methods of gaining knowledge are developing, so how can the quality of knowledge found a century ago compare to ten years ago? Knowledge at any point is considered to be of the best quality at the time, but this standard of quality changes. What was of quality yesterday may not be so today. If the definition of quality is evolving as knowledge develops, then can knowledge of enduring quality ever be found? Considering that some disciplines are more certain than others, withstanding quality depends on the methods in which knowledge is found in different disciplines. Considering architecture as an art, personal and shared knowledge are subjective. Where movements are

The Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism was released in 1967, giving recommendations to the federal government on steps to be taken for equality across ethnicities. The primary recommendation was for the implantation of a policy for official bilingualism, making both English and French of equal importance in Canada (Language rights and judicial wrongs: Official bilingualism jurisprudence in Canada s provincial courts. Pg 11). The report also recommended that bilingualism be increased in all of the provinces. Once Pierre Trudeau gained office one of his first things on his agenda was to bring in the Official Languages Act (OLA) in 1969, making both French and English equally recognized in Canada. Trudeau did not support the nationalists in Quebec with their goal of separatism and this was his way to make French Canadians feel they were of greater importance to the county (Language rights and judicial wrongs: Official bilingualism jurisprudence in Canada s provincial courts. We will be identifying play in relation to children s learning and development, and teaching within New Zealand early childhoodsettings. We will then be identifying and critically discussing two aspects of play that are particularly important to the centre, and examine their strengths and challenges with reference to contemporary play theory, curriculum planning, and images of the children, of children and learning. These two aspects include relationships and the notion of free play. And we will be incorporating theoretical perspectives of play to support the evolving of the centers philosophy in relation to experimentation around their pedagogy of play. Above is our teaching philosophy statement and we have highlighted key ideas we believe to be the most important part of our statement. We believe in free play that involves the individual child as well as with their peers and teachers. We strongly believe in child initiated learning experiences based on children s interests. This can lead to a much richer learning experience for children when it is based on what they are intrigued about. The meaning of play can be very hard to define in an early childhood context. Now more than ever, professional teams are scouting student athletes well into their high school days. In a lot of cases, these athletes need to spend anywhere from one to three years in college before they can be drafted. There needs to be steps to fix the problem. But first, we must see why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many in higher education argue that participation in Division I athletics generates benefits for the entire institution, including donations, applications, regional economic returns, school spirit, and even state support. If those returns are in fact true, which both the report and recent research question, the new Delta report says that may not be enough to justify the divergent trends in academic and athletic spending, especially during an economic downturn. Possible benefits aside, comparisons of spending on athletics and academics raise questions about institutional priorities and whether rising athletic subsidies are appropriate, particularly in the current budgetary environment, the report states. For many institutions, spending on athletics is sacrosanct, even when academic spending (such as for faculty pay and academic programs) is being cut or frozen . The report did not include spending for Division II or Division III programs. The report notes that, during the downturn, while many institutions faced financial pressure and cut academic programs, only a few Division I institutions including the University of Maryland at College Park, the University of California at Berkeley, and Rutgers University cut athletic teams or spending to cope with budget
