She and her husband Patrizio Bertelli took over the family-owned luxury goods company Prada in 1978 and have since transformed it into a global fashion powerhouse through acquisitions. The Prada family privately owns 100% of the company, which had $1.4 billion in revenues last year and is expected to go public through an IPO later this year.
