When we talk of 'globalisation' we often refer to an economic system that has emerged since the last 50 years or so. But as you will see in this PPS, the making of the global world has a long history - of trade, of migration, of people in search of work, the movement of capital, and much else. As we think the dramatic and visible signs of global interconnectedness in our lives today, we need to understand the phases through which this world in which we live has emerged.
What does democracy do?
What outcomes can we reasonably expect of democracy?
Does democracy fulfil these expectations in real life?
How to assess the outcomes of democracy?
Democracy is better because
Accountable, responsive and legitimate government
ELECTION,DEBATE AND INFORMATION
PEOPLE’S NEED AND CORRUPTION
Economic growth and development
Reduction of inequality and poverty
Accommodation of social diversity
Dignity and freedom of the citizens

Trade was the main channel connecting distant countries.
Large companies which are now called Multinational Corporations (MNCs) play a major role in trade. An MNC is a company that owns or controls production in more than one nation.
MNCs set up offices and factories for production in regions where they can get cheap labour and other resources so that the company can earn greater profits.

representative village of just 100 people. The following sections elaborate some
of these characteristics.
Demographics
As you consider which countries to sell products to or do business in, it is
important to understand the basic demographic characteristics of each country.
Demography is the statistical analvsis of the properties of a particular popula-
tion; important aspects include distribution, density, and trends. Although it is
possible to focus on a varietv of different demographic characteristics, we will
concentrate on population, age distribution, population growth rate, and life
expectancy at birth.
From a broader social perspective, the World Bank states that "derrelopment
is about people and their vv'ell being-about people developing their capabili-
ties to provide for their families, to act as ster, vards of the environment, to form
civil societies that are just and orderlv. Human capital development-the result
of education and improvements in health and nutrition-is both an ends and a
means to achierring social progress." The World Bank goes on to describe a
variety of factors that are important for understanding the health and well-
being of individuals, such as access to health care, percentage of females
enrolled in primar5r education, and literacy levels. These broader issues are
crucial if countries are to develop strategies for promoting development, espe-
cially in improving the education and lvell-being of their population as pro-
ducers and consumers of products.
Population
Population helps define a companv's market potential. This does not mean that
smali countries cannot be good markets for products. Still, Iarger countries
tend to provide greater opportunities for derreloping strong markets and for
finding emplovees for the production process.
Tables 4.4 and 4.5 heip illustrate the difference betrveen population and
income potential. Table 4.4 identifies the top 10 countries in the lvorld in terms
of population, and also shows the per capita income in each of those countries.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

2. HISTORY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
OF INDIA
Indus Valley civilisation, the first known
permanent and predominantly urban
settlement that flourished between 3500
BC to 1800 BC boasted of an advanced
and thriving economic system. Its
citizens practised agriculture,
domesticated animals, made sharp tools
and weapons from copper, bronze
and tin and traded with other
cities.Evidence of well laid streets,
layouts, drainage system and water
supply in the valley's major
cities, Harappa, Lothal, Mohenjo-daro
and Rakhigarhi reveals their knowledge
of urban planning . One of the theories
about their end is that they eventually
overused their resources, and slowly
died out. Another theory is that invaders
overran their civilisation.RV 6.27.5: At
Hariyupiyah (Harappa) he (Indrah)
smote the vanguard of the Vrcivans, and
the rear fled frightened."
3. HISTORY OF ECONOMICS
•Adam smith was a father of economics
And there are many more economist ,who
participated in this field like karl max,J.B Say,
J.M Keynes,David Ricardo and so on.
4. DEFINITION OF ECONOMICS
It is derived form two greek
words :-
Okios – a household
Nemein ( nomos)-
Management
Economics means ‘Home
Management’. The head of a
family faces the problem
of managing the unlimited
wants of the family members
within the limited income of
the
family. In fact, the same is
true for a society also. If we
consider the whole society as
a ‘family’,
then the society also faces
the problem of tackling
unlimited wants of the
members of the
society with the limited
resources available in that
society
5. MEANING OF DEVELOPMENT
A branch of economics that focuses on improving
the economies of developing countries.
Development economics considers how to promote
economic growth in such countries by improving
factors like health, education, working conditions,
domestic and international policies and market
conditions. It examines both macroeconomic and
microeconomic factors relating to the structure of a
developing economy and how that economy can
create effective domestic and international growth.
6. DEVELOPMENT GOALS OF DIFFERENT
CATEGORIES OF PERSONS
A. Landless Rural
labourers
B. Rich person
1. More days or work
2. Better wages
3. Economic and social
equality
1) Higher family income
2) Better education to
their children
3) To settle their children
in abroad

/Aspiration
7. METHOD OF MEASURING NATIONAL
DEVELOPMENT
National income –it
refers to the market
values of all good and
services which produce
in financial year within
the country
Average income / per
capita income – it’s the
ratio of total national
income of a country
with respect to total
population
PCI = Total income
Total population
8. NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In the process of national development ,a heavy
industry is set up
Or we can say that it’s a all round development of
nation
Like – education, health, and national income
9. WORLD DEVELOPMENT REPORT
World bank has used the criterion of per capita
income for classifying into high income and low-
income countries .
Acc to the 2006 WDR:-
a) $10066 per annum and above in 2004 are called
rich countries .
b) countries with a PCI of 825 $ or less per
annum in 2004
c) In the year 2004, india`s PCI was a mere $620
per annum
