It was late July, the heat of the summer, and my family was looking for something
to do. My father had heard the county fair was going on, and our family went to

Novelist Thomas Hardy voiced many strong opinions through his writing about the
crushing power of Victorian society and the rules and regulations concerning
marriage. Contradicting the expectations of society was something Hardy delighted
in, but Hardy s reader response began to suffer. As his career progressed, his novels
became increasingly more pessimistic and his readers heavily criticized his last two
novels. After writing Jude the Obscure, he resolved to not write any more novels

This scene comes directly after the nurse yells at the mute actress and slaps her

and the one time that she stands up to her, she runs away. The nurse is begging for
forgiveness. This scene really proves how weak the nurse is emotionally and
mentally. She is sobbing and in a state of hysteria and the actress still will not
forgive her. This reveals a lot of the actress s persona too. It shows that she does not
really care much for the nurse, even though she is just trying to help her. The scene
ends with the actress walking off and the nurse running in the opposite direction
towards the water. She stumbles and cries and then the scene is over. This scene tells
us, the audience a lot about the personality of both women not just in this scene but in

Particulate matter removal from the industrial flue gas sources is one of the
biggest challenges of the modern industrialized period. Particulate matter is a
mixture of both solid and liquid that is suspended in air and is normally emitted
into the air by the direct source of emission [1]. Particulate matter is of various sizes
but PM10 and PM2.5 are commonly used to explain the PM concentration in the air
and is normally required to be reported as an air pollution control standard.
Particulate matters (PM) causes various health related problems if their level is not
controlled in the air. In a joint report, prepared jointly by European Centre for
Environment and Health and WHO [1], PM matter especially smaller PM2.5 causes
serious health risks and as a result, it is noticed that the life expectancy in 25
European countries has decreased about 8.6 months. There are variety of equipment
used to control the particulate matter in the emission sources such as settling
chambers, wet scrubber, electrostatic precipitator, filters and cyclone separators.
Cyclone separators are most widely used to remove the particulate matter from the
pollution source because of their low capital and operating cost, and simplicity in
operation, however, their low efficiency is one of the major challenges.
This paper will review and cover the major research that is taking place to increase
the overall capture efficiency of the cyclone separator without compromising the
pressure drop and the life of the cyclone separator. The efficiency of the cyclone
separator can be increased by mainly by increasing the velocity, changing the
geometry or applying some external force such as electrical or magnetic force. The
major focus of research in the history was on the modification of geometry and
shape of the cyclone separator, however, changing the geometry has its own
