management techniques (CPM,PERT) with help
of primavera software.
AIM OF PROJECT
 Study the basics of primavera
 Selection of project and preparation of typical plan for (G+4)
Residential building.
 Estimation of quantities
 Preparation of activity layout and calculating duration of each
activity.
 Scheduling the activities
 Preparation of WBS layout.
 Budgeting the project.
 Preparation of reports &document
Schedule of project
 1. Primavera is a tool for planner, project managers and
any person needs to plan - control a project.

globally prioritizing, planning, managing, and executing
projects, programs.
Concept of primavera
&Oracle corporation review
 p6 is specified in managing all types of projects
small, medium & large
 Methods of Working:-
Pm is using critical path method (CPM) in
calculating project duration and floats of the activities
 It has types of charts (view/display)
Gantt Bar chart
Specified & method of working
 Construction management
 Scheduling
 Tracking
 Resources
 Man-day
 Budget
 Project: Any undertaken work is called project, it requires
resources and fund to complete. We can get some out put by
doing project.
 Ex: catering, wedding planning, construction of building,
software development.

Project Planning Components&
Parameters
 Thinking & documenting what needs to be done to complete the
project
 Defining Responsibilities(AR,OW,CONTRACTER)
 Defining the phases (DP, EP, FP)
 Calculating Activity duration
 Adding the logic links between activities
 Assigning resources and cost to activities
 Define calendars
 Create a work break down structure
 Preparing work schedules
 Developing an acceptable budget
 Provide a base line which progresses is measured
Planning the project by means
 Ensuring the project is being executed according to
the plan measuring performance
 Compare the projects progress with the original plan
 Suggesting correction action when needed
 Inform the team about progress
 Identifying the improvement of performance of team
 Forecast Problems
Monitoring and controlling means:-
 The time span between the start and competition of
project. Represents the project
 life cycle which varies from few months to few years
The life cycle of project can be broadly divided into the
following:-
Project life cycle (Plc.)
 a) Formation stage / inception stage
. Feasibility studies
.Invest appraisal(budget)
.project definition
 b) Mobilization / preparation Stage
.Project Preliminary plan
.Design & drawing
.Specification and tendering(contract finalization)
.resource Mobilization
 C) Construction stage / Execution stage
. Planning & controlling execution
.Inducting Resources
.Construction
.Final handing over to the client
