juvenile delinquency, specifically. The first modern version of strain theory is Robert K. Merton
(1938) which involves the inability of individuals to achieve culturally prescribed success goals, or

achieve these goals and the loss of positive stimuli and/or a presence of negative stimuli. Focusing on
the goals that are culturally prescribed for success, specifically for juveniles, these could include

Salacia II was selected to represent Australia, at the Adrimal s Cup, on the Isle of Wight, in the UK.
Now, considered the world championship of ocean racing. Each country had selected three yachts that
sailed together as a team over a variety of courses, 2 x 30 mile inshore, 1 x180 mile offshore and 620
mile Fastnet race. The English version of the Hobart race. They arrived and spent four weeks training
every day as well as competing in several local races. By the time they started the Adrimal s Cup the
boat was tuned to perfection. The crew work was as good as any America s Cup crew. We were
leading the point score in the final race, but one yacht broke its rudder and did not finish which pushed

Native American Musical Instruments are about natives getting together and playing there
instruments. They play them on holidays and birthdays, also they play whenever they want
entertainment. It s a tradition for them. Their instruments are not metal like ours, so it doesn t sound

The genres that were played by the Native Americans were characteristics of music and how they
were produced. Genres change because some people are from different cultures. Regional category a
description of the music encompasses vocal rhythm beat. They didn t have have music sheets like
Americans do. They played with there heart and what they felt like. They had/ have meaning to their

Odysseus is considered a hero in his own one sided story whilst Harriet Tubman is considered a hero
by all. Although Harriet Tubman did not experience the traditional type of the twelve stages of a hero s
journey, that does not make her any less of a hero than Odysseus seems to be. In fact whilst following
the guide of the twelve stages to a hero s journey, Harriet Tubman can be viewed as a better hero
parse, than Odysseus. Although in most cases to be viewed as a hero you must be a superhero, killer,

Although Harriet and Odysseus went through multiple ordeals , by taking the inciting ordeals and
comparing it is found that they display the ordeal very differently but still very well. Harriet s
(arguably) biggest ordeal came by 1856 when she was captured for a 40,000$ reward. This is a perfect
example for an ordeal because it shows the hero getting trapped in a situation and she needs to find a
way out. Harriet gets her way out of this sticky situation by reading a book since her wanted poster
stated that she was illiterate. Odysseus story is similar in the sense that he gets trapped, however in
Odysseus story he wasn t alone in his situation, he had his crew with him to assist in the escape from

make it out alive by tricking the Cyclops into drinking wine which later makes him very drowsy,

October 17, 2015 Media vs. the body Image Body image remains to be a very controversial topic in
today s society, because of how easy it is to become a hate crime over a small comment on how small
or big someone s body is. Today, it is unavoidable to see the look that it seems society wants us to
look. Professor Susan Bordo writes the article, Never Just Pictures , describing her investigation
between the media and its effects on how people view their bodies. She uses ethos, logos, and pathos
to bring in the attention of the people, in order to get her message across to be aware of media and
how they portray the ideal body image. Bordo notes the patterns of the different types of models that
magazines and commercial ads use, to say that even though they have changed the face of beauty, they
never really changed the body of it. And she analyzes the affects that these ads have on how people
view their bodies, and alter what the ideal body image is. Bordo uses other sources to prove her
argument mainly allowing readers to have more reasons to side with her argument. Having reviewed
this article, I think that we should publish this article in the Shorthorns, because it will attract the
attention of most people, since right now young people still struggle with differentiating between what
is a real body and what is a body that has been altered for the likes of what the media likes. Bordo s
