4. Definition of Recount text
recount text is a text that tells the reader
about one story, action or activity. Its goal is
to entertaining or informing the reader. But
Inside Recount Text there is no complication
just like in Narrative Text.

5. Recount Text is a text that used to
make a sentence of telling the
occurrence that already happened
in the past. You could say it’s like
story telling with more tragic or
somethig unussual happened once
in your life :)

• # Orientation : tells who was involved,
what happened, where the events
took place, and when it happened.

9. The purpose of a recount is to list and describe
past experiences by retelling events in the order
in which they happened. Recounts are written to
retell events with the purpose of either informing
or entertaining their audience (or both).

Recount Text
• Using the simple past tense, past
continuous tense, past perfect tense, and
past perfect continuous tense.
• Using temporal sequence, e.g. On
Saturday. On Monday, On Sunday
• Focus on specific participant, e.g. I (the
writer)
• Using the conjunctions, such as: then,
before, after, etc.
• Using action verb, e.g. went, stayed

11. Language Features
1.Past Tense: Recount texts are predominantly written in the past
tense since they describe events already occurring.
2.First-Person Pronouns: Recounts often use first-person pronouns
(I, we) since the writer typically recounts their own experiences or
observations.
3.Time Connectives: Words and phrases that indicate the sequence
of events are commonly used, such as “first,” “next,” “then,”
“after,” and so on.
4.Conjunctions: Connectives and conjunctions link ideas and events

12. Recount text has two main characteristics, namely:
1. In recount text there is no conflict in the story told by
the author, in contrast to English narrative text which
has conflict in its structure.
2. There is always a chronological order of stories, for
example there are stories on the first day, the second
day, and so on.

Personal recount text is a type of text that aims to tell about the
writer's personal experiences.
2. Factual Recount Text
Factual recount text is a story to present a report regarding
events that occurred based on facts (actually happened).
3. Imaginative Recount Text
Imaginative recount is a text that someone usually uses as a
story of an imaginative event that someone experienced.
4. Historical Recount Text
Historical recount text is a form of recount text whose content
tells historical events.

16. A Trip to the National Zoo and Aquarium
Yesterday, my family and I went to the National Zoo and Aquarium to
visit the new Snow Cubs and the other animals. In the morning, when
we got to the Zoo and Aquarium there was a great big line, so we had
to wait awhile to get in.
After we entered the zoo, we went straight to the enclosure for the Snow
Cubs. My brother and I were so excited to see them. They were so cute
and playful. At lunchtime Dad decided to cook a bbq. He cooked
sausages so we could have sausage sandwiches. My Mom forgot the
tomato sauce so we had to eat them plain. In the afternoon, we visited
the aquarium. My brother was excited to see the sharks and the tropical
fish. At the end of the day when we left we were going to go and get ice

18. Holiday in Malino
I spent my last holiday in Malino, South Sulawesi with
my friends. On the first day, I arrived at Villa at 12.00
after a 4 hour trip with a bus. After I arrived, I decided to
take a shower and rest for a while. Then, I followed a trip
with our guide to explore a Malino. On the next morning,
we go to Malino Highlands. We had fun, we also ate
good food. On the last day, I went shopping for some
souvenirs. After that, I returned to Makassar. We arrived
in Makassar at 19.00. I had a wonderful experience in
Malino. It was the best trip of my life

19. Title: My Visit to the Zoo
Last weekend, I went to the zoo with my family. We arrived
early in the morning, excited to see all the animals. First,
we headed to the lion enclosure. The lions were majestic,
lounging in the sun. Next, we saw the playful monkeys
swinging from tree to tree. After that, we visited the
elephant enclosure and watched them splashing in the
water. Time flew by as we explored each exhibit. Finally, we
ended our day with a delicious picnic by the flamingo pond.
It was a wonderful day filled with unforgettable memories.
