Recount text adalah a text that telling the reader about one story, action or activity.
(sebuah teks yang menceritakan sebuah cerita, aksi ataupun aktifitas).
Its goal is to entertaining or informing the reader. (Tujuan recount text adalah untuk
menghibur atau menginformasikan pembaca).
Generic Structure Dari Recount Text
Generic structure (susunan umum) recount text ini terdiri dari:
1. Orientation tells who was involved, what happened, where the events took place, and when
it happened. ("Orientation" menceritakan siapa saja yang terlibat dalam cerita,apa yang
terjadi, di mana tempat peristiwa terjadi, dan kapan terjadi peristiwanya)
2. Events tell what happened and in what sequence. ("Event" menceritakan apa yang terjadi
(lagi) dan menceritakan urutan ceritanya)
3. Reorientation consists of optional-closureof events/ending. ("Reorientation" berisi penutup
cerita / akhir cerita).

Pengertian Simple Past Tense
Simple Past Tanse is used to tell about past experiences.
Simple Past digunakan untuk menceritakan suatu kegiatan di masa lampau. (contoh.
yesterday, lastnight, days ago, in 1999)
Pada Simple Past Tense, verb atau kata kerja yang digunakan adalah verb II. Biasanya,
sebagian besar adalah regular verb atau verb/kata kerja dibentuk dengan menambahkan akhiran -
ed pada verb/kata kerja.
My Holiday
Last week I went to Mount Bromo. I stayed at my friend's
house in Probolinggo, East Java. The house has a big garden
with colorful flowers and a small pool.
In the morning, my friend and I saw Mount Batok. The
scenery was very beautiful. We rode on horseback. Itwas scary,
but it was fun. Then, we went to get a closer look at the
mountain. We took pictures of the beautiful scanery there.
After that, we took a rest and had lunch under a big tree.
Before we got home, we went to the zoo at Wonokromo. We
went home in the afternoon.
We were very tired. However, I think it was really fun to
have a holiday like this. I hope my next holiday will be more
intersting.
