The Philippines has a tropical climate with two seasons - a rainy season from May to November and a dry season from December to April. It also experiences typhoons from June to October. The Filipino people are a mixture of different ethnicities including Malay, Chinese, Negrito, Indian, European and American. There are several indigenous ethnic groups like Igorots, Mangyans, Badjao and Tagbanua as well as non-indigenous groups. There are two main theories on the origins of Filipinos - the migration theory which proposes they came in waves of migration, and the core population theory which suggests a core population that was joined by others over time who shared a common culture.
