In 1906 Miss Frances Bardsley was
determined to offer girls in this area a
first class education and the opportunity to
develop their skills, abilities and self
confidence.

Academy is a girls’ only
school.
4. Our Head teacher
Mr Julian Dutnall
He is a very good head teacher, and
he is very strict on rules but he can
have a laugh.
He wants us all to work hard
and have fun in school.

• We listen to staff and follow instructions straight
away
• We bring the right equipment for learning
• We listen to other pupils when contributing to
class
• We raise our hands and wait to ask or answer a
question

How long is your summer holiday?
Usually around 6 weeks in England.
Does your school have a motto?
Our school’s motto is ‘Glady Lerne, Gladly Teche’
which stands for ‘Gladly Learn, Gladly Teach’

Would you like to wear a uniform and if so what would
it be like?
We wear dark green blazers and skirts and different
coloured chequered shirts :
yellow for year 7 & 8 (sixième et cinquième)
blue for years 9 & 10 (quatrième et cinquième)
and plain white for year 11 (seconde).
In winter we wear tights but can wear white socks in
spring and summer.
