Booster station
Purpose:
The natural (sauer) gas compressor feeds the gas into the pipeline
system. The booster station ensures sufficient production, although the
wellhead pressure is lower than the pressure in the transport grid.
Description:
Gas is compressed from 5.5 bar suction pressure to 14 bar system
pressure in the booster station. The wellhead flow pressure of the
gaswell Itterbeck-Halle 2 and 4 decreases continuously and will reach
less than 5 bar. The heat generated during the compression process is
dissipated and the heated gas is cooled down from ca. 80 °C to 45 °C
in the gas cooler. Formed condensates are separated in the gasfilter.
For sound insulation the booster station is equipped with noise
protection components. So the sound level of approx. 92 db inside of
the station is reduced to 78 db outside of the station (1 m distance).
