Output hardware is components of or devices linked to a computer, which allow the computer to
transfer information to another computer system or the user of a computer system (Kroenke
pg74). This output hardware sends information in the form of images, sound, or various other
tangible imagery usually, to some form of input hardware on another system. It is not designed
to receive data only to send. The most familiar of these devices is the visual display or computer
monitor. These monitors are usually synonymous with a computer and every system is equipped
with or able to connect to a Visual Display Unit. Projectors, audio systems, printers, and faxes are
all examples of output hardware. Microsoft Corporation in their endeavors to enhance everyone s
life with the aid of computing software has developed output hardware for the blind or visually
challenged. Windows also offers a function such as video narrator, that provides audio
descriptions of videos (http://Windows.Microsoft.com). In addition to these components windows
is compatible with numerous other programs and hardware components that are designed to
enhance the lives of those who are blind or visually impaired. More recently Microsoft has also
included Braille output devises and other hardware components in their product lines. For a quick

Pros And Cons Of Fighting In Hockey
Should the NHL prohibit the fighting from its hockey games? Although fighting is the most
controversial argument when it comes to hockey I believe that this long lived tradition should stay
in the Canadien game. Hockey is the only major sport that does not viciously punish violent
offenders. Although the tradition is gradually dying down I believe that it must withstand the
opposition because it is a major part of the game.
The main argument that individuals that oppose fighting in hockey have is that fighting in hockey
produces a more dangerous environment for the players. The war zone called the hockey arena has
given players both physical and mental damage. Fighting in hockey causes chronic traumatic which
causes depression. There have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Importance Of The Normandy Invasion
June 6, 1944. The world has been at war for almost 5 years. The Axis Powers have occupied
France and a lot of Europe. The USSR is pushing the Germans out of Russia and back towards
Germany. The Allies are preparing to invade and take back Europe and defeat the Axis. The
invasion starts with a mix of British and American paratroopers being dropped behind enemy
lines to take important and over 100,00 soldiers are preparing to launch one of the largest sea
invasions of all time. The soldiers are a mix of British, Canadian, and United States origin. The 5
beaches being attacked are codenamed Utah, Gold, Sword, Juno, and Omaha. In the end, the
invasion as a whole turned out to be a success on every beach. There were many reasons for this

This was a very long stretch of beach near the Cherbourg peninsula, bordered by Utah Beach and
Gold Beach. The 1st and 29th American infantry divisions landed here on June 6, 1944 at
approximately 6.30 A.M. The landscape of the beach and surrounding area made it easy to
defend, but very difficult to attack. Facing the shore were large cliffs with multiple machine gun
emplacements and bunkers looking down towards it. Between the bunkers was barely any cover
for the soldiers. This brings up the question: Why did the Allies attack it? There are many
reasons. First, the Allies needed a way to link up Utah to Gold and the rest of the British sector.
Utah was needed for the capture of Cherbourg, and Gold was needed to put the Mulberry harbor in
place. If these did not get linked to each other, the soldiers on each front wouldn t be able to
communicate effectively. Second, the Allied needed to make sure the Germans couldn t regroup
and counterattack. A counterattack at that stage would be terrible for the Allies because they had
not landed much supplies yet and had sustained a lot of casualties. Taking Omaha would prevent
this from happening. Finally, Omaha covered the most land. This was essential for capturing the
most possible towns, cities, and communication hubs. In spite of all the difficulties, the Allies took
the cliffs at around 10 A.M. Over the course of these 4 hours, the General of the Army Omar

Cuba is a country that has a cuisine filled with an abundance of flavors and influences of the
origins of its citizens and people that came by the island over the centuries. Filled with fruit trees
and the perfect land for raising animals and growing vegetables, Cuban cuisine is unique and

Dinner, or comida (although its literal translation means meal it is referred to as the evening
meal in Cuba) is a dressy affair in most Cuban homes, regardless of the social status of the
family. Every day when the adults return from work and the children from school and playing
outside everyone comes home to bathe and dress in fresh clothes for dinner, which is served at
7:00 or 8:00 P.M. Some ladies dress in leisure yet fashionable clothes. In late nineteenth and early
twentieth centuries women wore batas, long white linen dresses, usually hand embroidered with
ruffles and lace down to their ankles. The food served for comida was generally lighter than that
served for almuerzo, but was nevertheless rather elaborate, consisting of three courses. Cubans
living in America nowadays don t generally distinguish much between dishes appropriate for
lunch and dinner. Most have adopted the American custom of having a single large meal in the
evening, at which any dish can be served. Meat is very popular in a Cuban s diet making beef a
common main protein in most lunch and dinner dishes. According to Havana: Autobiography of a

The Sarbanes Oxley Act Of 2002
On July 30, 2002, the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 was signed into law by the acting President
George W. Bush. The overall purpose of the Act was to protect investors by improving the accuracy
and reliability of corporate disclosures made pursuant to the securities laws, and for other purposes.
(SEC, 2013) This Act mandated multiple amendments to improve corporate responsibility, enhance
financial disclosures, and combat corporate and accounting fraudulent practices. One requirement
of the Act involves a management s report on internal controls over financial reporting to be
included in the annual financial reports of a company. On July 30, 2014, the Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that CEO Marc Sherman and former CFO Edward L.
Cummings of a computer equipment company named QSGI, Inc. are being charged with
misrepresenting the state of its internal controls over financial reporting to external auditors and the
investing public. Inadequate internal control within the company can be extremely detrimental
because investors and lenders rely heavily on financial reports to make decisions. The incorrect
records of QSGI enabled the company to maximize loans from their top creditor. This report will
show how QSGI s lack of internal controls hindered their ability to generate revenue and maintain
one of the company s operation centers. So what are internal controls? And why are they so
important? Internal controls describe the policies, plans, and procedures

Narrative About Being Reaped
In a bright sunrise that adumbrated the potential that lay ahead, a field of corn seized my
attention on one summer run. Staring into the cornfield, I pondered which ones would be
perfect enough to be reaped. I realized, however, that many of them would be abandoned,
because they succumbed to bugs, contracted diseases, or were just inferior. My life was eerily
representative of the plight of the corn. It all commenced with a perverse inquiry: Hilton Head
Island, a resort city on the Atlantic Ocean, is in what state? I was mortified. I had never
answered a question wrong in the school level geography bee before. Earning top twelve in the
states in fifth and sixth grade made me poised to possibly make Nationals that year, resulting in
high expectations from nearly everyone I knew. Hastily, I wrote down my best educated guess,
hoping that the boy I was facing (who incidentally bullied me incessantly throughout middle
school) would err as well. However, the corn in me that was about to be reaped was thrown on the
ground and forgotten.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

although my scores were better than half the team, and isolating me from all the friends I once

effeminate clothing, and a loser with no life. Mired in depression in subsequent years, I cried

Explain the Key Functions in Merchandising, Referencing...
Merchandising is carried out by the area of a business which mediates marketing and production
departments, such as the buyers. This process is were the product is designed and developed, and
then presented to the rest of the buying team. Including overlooking the product line throughout is
product development life, from start to finish. The merchandising department may have to deal
with some of the costing and pricing. The merchandiser aids creating a product line that should
create a profit for the company, by executing the correct costing and pricing for these particular
products. They have to lead their customer forward in creating new products. This may be taking

For my low (mass) market I chose Primark, which offers fast fashion at low prices. This
particular retailer has to supply on high demand on mass, to a specific market where their
products are bought mainly on price rather than quality. For the merchandiser this means sourcing
their supplies at low cost. Therefore being able to sell at a lower price, demanding the
merchandiser to use good negotiation with suppliers to achieve this. For my middle market
retailer I chose Next, which is directed at a different consumer than that of Primark and the price
range is higher also. For this specific retailer the merchandiser has to think about a higher quality of
product that the customer can invest in, such as workwear. The merchandiser has to invest time
communicating with buyer on a budget that will still be able to turn a profit for the business. For
my third retailer I chose Harvey Nichols which is a high end department store. This requires a
different process for the retailer as it has to research buying the products as finished garments and
does not have to deal with the manufacturing aspects of its product range. This therefore means the
merchandiser has to work closely with the buyer on deciding which products to sell from a range of
branded items. Comparing all three retailers there is a great difference on the responsibilities and
functions that the merchandiser has to adopt, from concentrating on costing and pricing, through to

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Nop Phone Service

Chapter 8
Advantages
VoIP phone service providers oer many advantages to the residential and small oce/home oce user.
If you have a high speed internet connection then choosing a VoIP phone service might be right for
you.
1. Low Cost :
This technology leads to greater nancial savings. This happens because there exists only one
network carrying the voice and video provided by only one supplier. If you have a broad band
Internet connection (DSL or cable), you can make PCtoPC phone calls anywhere in the world
for free. If you wish to make a PC to phone connection, there s usually a charge for this but
probably much cheaper than your regular phone service. You can pay as you go or you can sign up
with a VOIP service provider and pay a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Low Taxes :
Since the calls are being carried over the Internet, governments have not heavily taxed VoIP phone
services. Compare that to your local telephone bill (go ahead and take a close look) and you will see
you are spending quite a bit on taxes each month. Therefore, choosing a
VoIP provider could add up to signicant savings for you and your family.
3. Portability :
One important concept to understand about VoIP is that unlike its forefathers (lets call them
PSTN for now), it is not distance or location dependent. As far as VoIP is concerned, you could
be calling your supplier 1,000 miles away in Indonesia or calling your business partner on the
other end of town, and it doesnt make any di erence at all, in terms of connectivity and cost. You
can make and receive phone calls wherever there is a broadband connection simply by signing in
to your VoIP account. This makes VoIP as convenient as email if you are traveling, simply pack a
headset or Internet phone and you can talk to your family or business associates for almost nothing.
4. No extra cables, no extra cost :
A VoIP phone number, unlike your regular phone number, is completely portable. Most commonly
referred to as a virtual number, you can take it with you anywhere you go.

Military Recruitment Process Essay
The process by which an organization locates and attract individuals to fill job vacancies is
known as recruitment. I recall how military recruiters try to get individuals to join the military and
the reason why some, like myself, choose to join and others did not. Both the organization and the
candidate seek to attract the other with their best foot forward, the Organization seeking to secure
a candidate that is highly qualified and be beneficial to the success of the organization and on the
other hand the candidate, who is trying to convince the recruiter he or she is the best person for
the job. During this process, however the objective of the organization and the candidate may
conflict since part of the of recruiting process is evaluating a candidate s strengths and weakness
but the candidate may only present his or her strengths. On the other hand, the candidate may not
get all the information from the organization since only the appealing stuff may be revealed. The
end goal for the organization is to hire someone that is not only qualified for the job, but someone

The Merger Between American Car Manufacturer Chrysler And...
1. What are your views of the Chrysler Fiat strategic alliance in 2009?
The merger between American car manufacturer Chrysler and its foreign counterpart, Fiat, was
clearly born out of a mutual need for growth as well as to recover financially from various setbacks
and failures both had experienced.
As the world grows smaller through interconnectivity, the only real option these big car companies
have left to grow is to expand internationally. This alliance is a good way to expand into new
markets with partners who have experience conducting business in vastly different markets. Seeing
as both companies have placed sufficient trust in one another to share technology and resources
there is a much greater guarantee that this partnership will outlast the one Fiat had with General
Motors.
Although this cross border partnership brings its share of benefits, the fact that Chrysler has always
been a marginal auto manufacturer with an inconsistent history of quality, weak market share,
and old technology is troubling. Fiat has also had its share of problems stemming from issues
with Italian labor laws, weakened business environment, and cost issues. But, both parties have
shown a strong drive to overcome these issues. Chrysler chose to focus on its most successful car
brand, Jeep, and to use it as its main growth platform because of its market share and visibility.
Fiat also took steps to reinvent itself by fixing its brand portfolio and quality areas with the aid of its

Introduction To Poetry By Billy Collins
Billy Collins, born and raised in Manhattan, New York, is one of America s most successful
poets. Known for very famous poems such as The Art of Drowning and Introduction to Poetry,
Billy Collins has succeeded in the department of English Literature for much of his life. With a
bachelors degree from the College of Holy Cross and a Masters and PHD from the University of
California, Riverside, Billy Collins went on to become a college English professor at Lehman
College in the Bronx. He is and for a long time has been a strong advocate for encouraging young
people to get into poetryand even created the program Poetry 180 where he made a collection of
180 poems for schools to read one poem every school day. Setting him apart from the average
poet, Collins received the utmost honor from the Library of Congress when he was declared the
U.S. poet Laureate in 2001, serving for two years. Following the September 11th terror attacks,
Collins wrote and read a poem entitled The Names that was dedicated to the victims. Unlike
many poets who write extremely emotional poems, drawing from their traumatic backgrounds,
Collins keeps it simple and rights about relatable, average, middle class lifestyle topics; both of
his poems Introduction to Poetry and Embrace are emblematic of that. The poem Introduction to
Poetry is one of Collins most famous works of literature. The poem begins with Collins using
similes such as I ask them to take a poem and hold it up to the light like a

Descriptive Essay On A Day In The Desert
After working in the field on a scorching summer day I was as thirsty and hot as a lizard in the
Atacama Desert, the driest desert in the world, without water for nine years and nine months and
nine days and being beaten down by scaring heat from the merciless sun. The idea of water
seemed foreign to me because there were none around then. Suddenly, I saw a shiny, metallic
water fountain and my body urged me in the direction of the water fountain. When I took a drink
of water, my parched mouth felt relieved, as if I took a dive in a crystal clear pool on a hot
summer day. The cold and refreshing water soared from the water fountain into my mouth and
moisturized my rough, dry tongue. As the cold liquid sloshes down my throat, I let a small smile
as the icy water alleviated my dehydrated body. However, my body is not only longing for water,
but also as well as for sustenance. My stomach growl in defiance as it was deprived of proper
nutritional substance for the next six grueling hours until dinner, which seemed to be in the distant
future.
When dinner time arrived, I was ravenous. I was so famished to point that I could down a full
course meal in the time frame of five minutes or even less. When my mom, my lord, and savior,
raining down a plate of juicy steak sided with mashed potato and a bowl of salad upon the table,
my primal instinct urged me to force down the food like a caveman back in the stone age,
disregarding any sort of table manner that existed, yet, with a

The Fluid Nature Of White Collar Crime
The nebulous nature of white collar crime has long been explored, defined and redefined
throughout its history by a great number of people specialising in a variety of fields. Despite
being first introduced by Edwin Sutherland in 1939, some 78 years prior to today, the problem
remains: how should white collar crimebe defined? The fluid nature of white collar crime itself does
not easily lend itself to be defined and thus there exists no universally accepted definition despite
the numerous attempts to accomplish the feat. Typically, the definition of a criminal offence is
determined according to very specific criteria: the characteristics of the crime itself, with the
characteristics of the offender remaining irrespective. However, many, tend... Show more content on

Today there remains no universally accepted definition of white collar crime, and so long as
inclusion of the offender continues this will not change. Discussion of white collar crime is
flawed and biased due to an age old definition derived in a time before cell phones. High social
status and respectability does not waver consequences for serious crimes. It is time to treat white
collar crime as any other crime and remove the concept of the handsome banker in suit and tie
from the equation. Why include the offender at all? White collar crimes are committed
irrespective of social factors, causing significant difficulty when attempting to define white collar
crime based on offender characteristics. Are we, by including offender characteristics limiting the
scope of the crime itself to that defined nearly a century ago, and, are we, by introducing class
specifications creating an institutionalised bias that allows these criminals to walk free? Should
white collar crime be defined according to offender or offence? The answer is

Leadership and Group Members
Leadership has been described as the process of social influence in which one person is able to
enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task . A definition more
inclusive of followers comes from Alan Keith of Genentech who said Leadership is ultimately about
creating a way for people to contribute to making something extraordinary happen.
FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP THEORY (Hackman amp; Walton, 1986; McGrath, 1962) is a
particularly useful theory for addressing specific leader behaviors expected to contribute to
organizational or unit effectiveness. This theory argues that the leader s main job is to see that
whatever is necessary to group needs is taken care of; thus, a leader can be said to have done their

Consideration includes behavior involved in fostering effective relationships. Examples of such
behavior would include showing concern for a subordinate or acting in a supportive manner
towards others. Initiating structure involves the actions of the leader focused specifically on task

subordinates accountable to those standards.
Organizations are relying increasingly on teams to improve quality, efficiency, and adaptive change.
Cross functional teams are used to improve coordination among the different parties involved in
carrying out a joint project. Self managed teams are delegated most of the responsibility and
authority traditionally vested in fir line supervisors. Self defining teams represent an extreme form
empowerment, because the team can determine its mission given the ability of the leader.

Pan s Labyrinth As A Fairy Tale
Pan s Labyrinth was a fairytale that took place during the Spanish Civil war. This movie was a
good example of a fairytale for many different reasons. One reason why Pan s Labyrinth is a
good example of a fairy tale is because of the use of the fairytale characters: faun, fairy, and evil
human eating monster. In a fairytale is usually has unexpected monsters or creatures and this
movie has a bunch of mythical creatures. Another example of how Pan s Labyrinth is a good

In a fairytale, they usually have some evil being with some extent of power to inflict pain,

this movie, the evil person is the Spanish army s leader, and the Spanish army s power is his
massive army that will obey his every command with no revolution because if they do, they will

makes this movie a fairytale is the items that are used throughout the movie to change or alter the

Sundiata Myths
The world of ancient Africa is a foreign one to many who do not live on the continent. The
concept that Africa was once rather like Europe in its many medieval kingdoms, and their
upheavals and struggles to be the greatest power, is not widely considered by the general
population. Ancient Africa was a place of great tales, heroes, and conquests however. The memories
of these still linger even today. The storytellers of Africaare griots. They are a mysterious group,
who hold the legends and historyof Africa, and orally pass them down father to son through the
generations. One of these great stories is the Epic of Sundiata. Maghan Mari Djata, commonly

As this legend is so well known, and has been told so many times, it is difficult to separate fact
from fiction. The Epic of Sundiata, is still however a gold mine of true knowledge if one only

time an oral tradition, told by the griots to the villages and cities they lived in. The original griot
of the story lived it, and although the epic has most likely been added to for dramatic effect over
the centuries, the original tale must have been much closer to the truth. There is some doubt
however over the legitimacy of some parts of the story. In the epic Sundiata and his main rival

My interest in participating as a horticulture intern at The Polly Hill Arboretum is interwoven in
my desire to acquire hands on experience with plant material and expand my knowledge on what it
takes to manage and maintain an Arboretum. Polly Hill s devotion to education, plant conservation,
and research resonates with my personal and educational experiences as a native New Yorker and
Landscape Architecture major at SUNY Collegeof Environmental Science and Forestry. The
practice of horticulture is fundamental in sustaining beautiful landscapes and I wish to develop that
notion through landscape maintenance and greenhouse/nursery management.
My experience working for Park Avenue Armory, a nonprofit arts institution, provided me with

The Duality Of Filipino Culture In The Philippines
As we all know, Philippines is considered the largest Christian nation in Asia. In fact, the country
has 86% of the population as Roman Catholics and 6% represents variations of other Christian
cults and denominations. In the Filipino setting, the extended family is a huge part of his societal
unit. The children s closest friendship often come from within their own families. It is also a social
norm where the Father is in charge of making decisions for their home. It is also common that one
child remains at home with the parents and grandparents to take care of them. This child, given the
fact that he is at home with his or her family, is not necessarily living with a spouse. For in the
Filipino setting, even the extended family may stay at home with their grandparents. Some
grandchildren may be given to their grandparents at times to raise. And indigent family members
are also there to help to raise and take care of the children. Filipino families are so close that
cousins treat each other as siblings and nieces and nephews are referred to as one s one child. It is

United States Of The African American Male Students Essay
Upon the premise of further exploration, Mari Ann Roberts found a definition of what is meant to
care for underachieving African American male students. Roberts surveyed eight African American
teachers to attain their point of view of what it meant to care for their students which included
informing them about how to survive in the racismof the United States of America that they will
and are exposed to (Roberts 456). The discussion of political clarity was addressed by several
teachers to help students understand the importance of education and emphasized that they
believed, for Black people, academic achievement would eventually equal equality (Roberts 458).
It should be noted the research identified teachers believed: informing the students about socio
political/colour talk matters helped them to understand as African Americans you have to work
harder to make it in the U.S (Roberts 458). Finally, this study points out students needed to be
pushed to work harder and encouraged to change their demeanor to not give Caucasians reason to
hurt them in any fashion as far as advancing academically (Roberts 458). Several participants

Psychopaths In The Workplace Essay
Since there has been a rise in unfavorable treatment incidents when corporate psychopaths are in the
workplace, it has also caused an increase in negative effects for organizations. Such negative effects
include an increase in bullying (Boddy, 2014), counterproductive work behavior, harassment,
employee absenteeism and healthcare costs for organizations by these individuals that display these
toxic behaviors. Consequentially, even though there is an increase in these toxic and
counterproductive behaviors in the workplace, there have not been solutions established to

The loggerhead sea turtle, Caretta caretta, is a threatened species with a highly migratory behavior
and shifting habitat requirements depending on maturity (NMFS and USFWS 1998). The
loggerhead nesting grounds are typically in warm temperate regions (NMFS and USFWS 1998).
In the original listing from USFWS (1978), the loggerhead sea turtle was listed as threatened
throughout all of its range. The document goes on to state that one of the main threats to the
loggerhead sea turtle was that it was being harvested for the shell or as food; the eggs were
considered a desired food item and protein source. Regulations were put in place to protect the

Figure 1. Loggerhead Observed Bycatch. This graph shows data collected on bycatch rates in
SEAMAP analysis data set in the Stock Assessment of Loggerhead Sea Turtles. From NMFS 2001.
Nesting habitat degradation is an anthropogenic threat to the loggerhead sea turtles. These threats
include coastal development, erosion control barriers or beach armoring, artificial lighting,
pollution, removal of native vegetation, and vehicle and pedestrian traffic (NMFS and USFWS
2007). Some solutions include protecting and managing turtles on nesting beaches, monitor coastal
construction, implement lighting regulations, screen artificial lighting with vegetation, and impose
regulations on beach armoring (NMFS and USFWS 1998). Predation is an important threat to
consider in nesting areas for the loggerhead. Many places have depredation to protect the eggs and
hatchlings against predators such as feral dogs, raccoons, and foxes (NMFS and USFWS 2007).
The future outlook for the loggerhead turtle has been studied using two analyses, one looked at
counts of nesting females and the other analysis was a stage based population model done to look
at the anthropogenic mortalities with respect to the vital rates of the species (Conant et al. 2009).

Mlk Letter To Birmingham Jail
In the 1960 s Birmingham, Alabama was a much different place. Strict segregation laws caused
anger among the African American citizens of Birmingham, along with most people of America.
Many nonviolent protestors were arrested and put in jail, cramming 60 people in a jail cell, which
was meant to hold 10 people. Martin Luther King Jr. tried to stop segregation and even went to jail
due to a nonviolent campaign. While he was in jail, he received a letter from the minsters of
Birmingham claiming his campaigns and demonstrations were unwise. King wrote the Letter From
Birmingham Jailas a peaceful response. Martin Luther King Jr. uses logical appeal to catch the
attention of the ministers of Birmingham. First, King uses multiple examples of violent figures in
his letter, such as Adolf Hitler. King explains, at the time, Hitler s actions were considered legal ,
much like the segregation laws in Birmingham. Discrimination against African Americans was
considered legal at the time the letter was written too. The next violent event King mentions is Elijah

How Did Honey Affect Aboriginal Culture
Regarded as a very important part of the aboriginal culture, bees have been used by aborigines
for food, tools and trade for thousands of years. Honey held great values and was considered a
sign of respect. This was shown when honey was given to tribal elders by the hunters. Honey was
treated as a highly prized substance, giving as a gift or traded as a valuable product. If this
valuable substance was not traded or gifted, aborigines would simply use it to sweeten foods.
Referred to as Sugarbag by the aborigines, native honey contains a lot of resin from native trees
such as the eucalyptus tree. Due to its value, honey was scavenged for and found in nests
located in trees, stumps, rocky crevices and muddy river banks. In order for the aborigines to
find native bee hives, hunters would catch foraging bees and attach small pieces of light weight
materials such as pieces of feather, spider web or grass to the pollen sacs or resin that was being
collected by the bees. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bee s flight speed was then decreased and slow enough for the aboriginals to follow it back to
its hive.
Hives that were situated high in a tree were not disturbed by cutting down the tree, instead, the
honey was gathered by carving foot holes into the tree. This allowed for the aboriginals to climb
up to the hive. The contents of the hive would then be obtained and left to recover and rebuild, to
be collected at a later date.
Beeswax and resin were important for making weaponry. These bee by products were used to
fasten pieces of stone to wood. This would be achieved by heating the wax until it became a
malleable liquid and would then be poured over the two materials and left to dry. Once dried, the
honey would harden acting as a strong glue to hold the material together to be used for hunting

Penny Stock Case Study
The two stories talk about the meteoric price surge in the stock of a company called Cynk
Technology Corporation, with no actual revenue and tangible assets, and the purported
manipulation of the stock price through a pump and dump strategy. It can be seen how the
Securities and Exchange Commission together with the Department of Justice opened an
indictment charging several people with conspiracy, tax fraud and money laundering involving up
to $500 million in assets routed through offshore shell corporations that allowed clients to influence
stock prices and hide their gains. Generally, the fraudsters take control of an enterprise and offer
to sell a chunk of shares usually to the unsuspecting public with promises of very high returns.
Promoters broadcast the company s prospects by telling financiers to get in early before the rest of
the market dives in the pump. Shares are often bought and sold between fraudsters to give the
appearance of active trading, further amplifying interest as brokers contact clients to buy the stock.
Once the price starts rising, the control block can be dumped on the market, leaving investors with
shares in a nearly worthless business (Bouraoui, Mehanaoui Bahli, 2012). It also parleys the
increase of penny stock fraud and the Securities and Exchange Commission s inability to prosecute
the fraudsters and protect investors.

The Taiping Rebellion And The French Revolution
Throughout history, rebellions and revolutions shaped societies and created better conditions for
the people of those societies. The Taiping Rebellion and the French Revolution successfully shaped
their societies by means of political and social reforms. They were both influenced to later achieve
their unique successes because of a multitude of pushing factors, such as the existing social and
political conditions of Chinaand France. Natural disasters, breaking away from tradition, and China
s loss in the Opium War contributed to the ideology of the Taiping Rebellion; to restore China to its
previous greatness and overthrowing the government. Likewise in France the conditions were not
any better. Hunger and poverty were rampant in the cities of France. Bankruptcy and a corrupt
government only made things worst. These conditions set the foundation for the ideology of the
French Revolution; acquiring liberty, equality, and fraternity. Together, each of these societies found
their successes in different ways. France created major changes in the government and legal system
which were more immediate and apparent than in China, where they achieved successes that took
longer to become apparent, and is viewed as more effective in a long term point of view. Previous
political conditions played major roles, as it fueled the need for change within these communities.

(2)The doctrine of God in black theology must be of the God who is participating in the

Because God has been revealed in the history of oppressed Israel and decisively in the Oppressed

Therefore, the God in black theology is the God of and for the oppressed, the God who comes into

Probabilistic classifiers make the utilization of blend of models for classification. Every class is
considered to be a component of the mixed model. We have described various probabilistic
classifiers for sentiment analysis problem in the next subsection. 4.1.1.4.1 Naive Bayes Classifier
(NB). It is the frequently used classifier in sentiment analysis. In sentiment analysis, naive Bayes

the sentiment words distributed over the document. The work of naГЇve Bayes classifier is based
on the Bag of word extraction of features in which the word s position is overlooked in the whole

document and tells whether that word belongs to the positive or negative class. The probability can
be calculated using the given formula. This assumption results in Bayesian Network. A Bayesian

Motor Vehicle Accidents In The United States
Cars are the primary means of transportation in the United States. Teenagers often live as far as 30
minutes driving distance from their high school and job, making it impractical not to use an

amongst young drivers in the United States in 2013. Nationally, 963,000 teen drivers were
involved in police reported motor vehicle crashes in 2013, which resulted in 383,000 injuries and
2,865 deaths (Carney). Many components, such as passengers, mobile devices, lack of experience,

One feasible solution to reduce the amount of teenage motor vehicle accidents is to provide a way
for youth to gain life like experience driving with various, unexpected scenarios. One of the two
biggest causes of accidents among adolescents is speeding, which exacerbates swerves and does
not allow for enough reaction time. Teens are more likely than older drivers to speed and allow
shorter headways (the distance from the front of one vehicle to the front of the next) (Singer.)
Creating a simulation machine, much resembling a race car driving video game/chair found in
many arcades, complete with speed limits and road signs, would help to equip young drivers for
the dangers that may arise on real roads. The simulation could be programmed to come up with
different obstacles that would require the user to react in whatever way he or she sees fit. These
obstacles could be life threatening if presented on a physical road, which is why a simulator has

Restoring And Improving Urban Infrastructure
The Engineering Grand Challenge of restoring and improving urban infrastructure involves a
foundation of challenges faced by architectural engineers today. Specifically, it is about repairing
the infrastructure of a society, including its power grids, water infrastructure, roads, bridges,
sustainable structures, and anything that provides support to our thriving lifestyle. Admittedly,
improving infrastructureis an important challenge that can be fixed if there are new systems put in
place that allow for improvement at any time in the future. The challenge of restoring and
improving an urban infrastructure can be accomplished, but there need to be technological
advances, and support from the government. Equally important is the need for programs with
sufficient financial resources that can provide for a more up to date installation of the various
components of an urban infrastructure. Perhaps, the best way to solve the Grand Challenge of
restoring and improving infrastructure would be to apply the new technologies that have been
investigated and tested the most, and put them into action. There is no doubt that the infrastructure
from the 20th century has been a great accomplishment, however, we have pushed the problem of
improving and restoring the infrastructure off for years, when it is in current need of repair.
Moving forward, it is a necessity that our old infrastructure be replaced and re engineered the best it

Media Violence And Its Effects
Media violence exposure has been investigated as a risk factor for aggression behavior for years.
The impact of exposure to violence in the media the long term development and short term
development of aggressive behavior has been documented. Aggression is caused by several factors,
of which media violenceis one. Research investigating the effects of media violence in conjunction
with other predictors of aggressionsuch as; environmental factors and dysfunction within the
family household, is needed in order to better understand its contribution to aggressive behavior.
Furthermore, the debate of whether or not how media violence leads to aggression has received
renewed attention following tragic events; Sandy Hook, Umpqua Community College in
Kosenburg, Oregon, 2012 Aurora shooting, traumatic news coverage, a 8 year old boy
intentionally shot and killed elderly caregiver and countless other events; all of these casualties
were caused by media violence. Media violence can be a murder simulator; by teaching and guiding
how to commit aggressive and violent crimes. Aggression is usually defined by behavioral
scientists as behavior that is intended to harm another person. Common forms of aggression are

Uc Berkeley Research Paper
UC Berkeley: Origin of Free Speech, Topic of Extremes
Here we go again; yet again do we, as Americans, get to see another protest go violent, but what is
it about this time? Following up with recent news, Milo Yiannopolis, a highly controversial right
wing speaker and Breitbart columnist, was forced to evacuate UC Berkeley after a protest broke
into violence as many left protesters began destroying nearby areas and attacking innocent
people. Naturally, with such a controversial person coming to UC Berkeley and such a violent
occurring as a result, many opinions came out to the surface including two extreme articles that
we will focus on: a left wing article from Daily Cal by Luis Tenorio and Miranda Smith and a right
wing article from Fox News by Todd Starnes.
Throughout the article by Tenorio and Smith, the violence of the event is written off and excused
as a defense, saying that it crossed the line of tolerance as they claim that [tolerance] ends where
harm begins and that it is an event about safety and equitable ... Show more content on

Through this, it can be seen that they decided to focus on what they see, which is a valid view,
and to deny the presence of other viewpoints and issues that are present. It may be true that yes,
for you two, this is solely an issue on personal safety; however for many who disagree with you, it
is a major issue of free speech and academic freedom as this event presents itself as an attack on the
First Amendment and academic freedom. By shutting down the event with violence, it is forcefully
cutting off and blocking the differing opinion and ultimately isolating students, including those of

Greco Roman Impact On Rome
PaperGreco Roman impact
Potty talk let s talk about the john, the lou, the porcelain throne the thing we used every day. Some
people call it their happy place but for others it s the fantastic innovation that rome has given us.
Some people don t know but the toilet originated in rome, it may not have been clean but it was the
only way at the time to do your business. If you were rich you would have our own private toilet
made of limestone, but for the poor you would have to use a communal bathroom made of wood.
they had no toilet paper they used a sponge on a stick submerged in a bucket. The communal
toilets were believed to have spread diseases which does not surprise me at all but i think the

In Rome, large urinal pots typically were put on street corners. Periodically, fullers (the Roman
version of a not so dry cleaner) would empty them and use the contents in the process of laundering
and bleaching togas, tunics, and other clothing.
In many Roman cities there were public toilets. Such facilities were typically just rectangular
shaped rooms (some seating as many as 100 people). Arranged along several of the walls of these
rooms were long stone benches each with a row of keyhole shaped openings cut into it. Water
running down drains underneath the benches would flush waste away into the sewers.
Conclusion on how all of these innovations impact us
As you know we currently don t have wooden toilets but if it weren t for Romans we probably
would not have toilets at all, the innovation of toilets and sewage is only possible because of the
Romans. toilets would be useless without sewage system or aqueducts and since the Romans did
that we don t have to worry about having to take our poop down to the river or cesspit. Now in
today s modern world we have a much more advanced fuller whom does a better job than Roman

Web architecture:
1A diagram explaining how the internet works and description of the world wide web
The World Wide Web is a system of internet servers that contain documents formatted in HTML.
This supports links to other documents and also supports graphics, audio and video.
2Internet Service Providers (ISP);
An internet service provider (ISP) is a service that provides access to the internet. They provide
the user with services such as broadband and phone services. For a monthly price the user is
provided with a router which they can then connect to either with a wired or wireless
connection. An internet connection enables the user to connect many devices to the internet at
the same time. The router and phone are normally plugged in to the same socket which then
connects the router to the internet. Internet service providers may also provide the user with an
e mail address as a part of the service. Different providers offer different packages for different
prices, for example some may have a capped usage which may be better for people who do not
use the internet as much and would be able to save money by purchasing this. Different
companies compete to gain more customers and will claim to have a higher upload and download
rate than other companies. Also, usually a package with a higher upload and download speed will
be more expensive.

How Does Orwell Use Language In Animal Farm
In the book, 2 pigs, Napoleon and Snowball fight for absolute power on their farm. They follow
the ideals of animalism (adapted from Karl Marx s communism by Orwell) and use propaganda
tactics to overthrow Mr. Jones, the owner of the farm. Orwell uses Napoleon from the allegory to
show that language can be used as an instrument to abuse power.
You can see this on page 59/the first page of chapter XI when Napoleon has just added to the
required labor on the farm, making animals also work on Sundays when they previously hadn t.
The book says in August Napoleon announced that there would be work on Sunday afternoons as
well. This work was strictly voluntary, but any animal who absented himself from it would have his
rations reduced by half. . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of the animals had remembered or thought they remembered that the sixth commandment
decreed No animal shall kill any other animal. further down page 91 Muriel reads off the sixth
commandment it ran: No animal shall kill any other animal without cause. Somehow or other,
the last two words had slipped out of the animals memory. They had slipped the animals memory
because they were never there to begin with. If you refer back to pages 24 and 25, the sixth
commandments read 6. No animal shall kill any other animal. meaning that when Muriel read the
sixth commandment on page 91, the commandments had been edited. This editing was most
likely done by Napoleon himself, or one of the other pigs because none of the other animals had
sentenced death or executions on any other animals, or killed another animal because they
remembered the original sixth commandment. This doesn t only happen on page 91, but also a bit
further back in the book. On page 67, Muriel is reading off another commandment. With some
difficulty Muriel spelt it out. It says No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets. Again, back on the
list of commandments, it says 4. No animal shall sleep in a bed. And again, no animals remember a
mention of sheets, because it wasn t there

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder Essay
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common childhood disorders
that develops in children and becomes apparent in the preschool, early school years and continue
through adolescence and adulthood. It is one of the rising public health concerns which is
characterized by inappropriate levels of inattention, hyperactivityand impulsivity. The world wide
prevalence rate was estimated as 5.29 %. (Polanczyk 2007). Prevalent rates are higher at 12 years.
It also affects school performance and interpersonal relationship. (Hokenberry 2006).
ADHD affects an estimated 3% to 5% of all school aged children. The ratio of boys to girls ranges
from 3:1 in non clinical settings to 9: 1 in clinical settings. (Gaut and Carlson ... Show more content

The complex etiology of ADHD most likely involves genetic and environmental factors. Studies
have found strong genetic influences and familial transmission. Magnetic Resonance Imaging
studies have identified differences in brain function among ADHD clients. Other factors for ADHD
includes family history of ADHD, Male relatives with antisocial personality disorder or alcoholism,
female relatives with somatisation disorder, lower socioeconomic status, Marital or family discord,
including divorce, neglect, abuse, or parental deprivation, low birth weight and various kinds of
brain insult.
ADHD is a common, highly heritable neurodevelopmental disorder. Rare copy number variations,
such as chromosomal deletions or duplications, have been implicated in ADHD and
neurodevelopmental disorder. ( Jarick 2014) This is most likely associated with abnormalities in
catecholamine s and possibly serotonin metabolism. Having first degree relatives with ADHD
have increased the risk for the disorder by 4 to 6 times that of the general population. Some
studies revealed that alterations in specific areas of brain in individuals have more risk of children
with ADHD. These regions include the prefrontal lobes, basal ganglia, caudate nucleus, globus
pallidus, and cerebellum. Brain image of people with ADHD have suggested decreased metabolism
in the frontal region of brain, which is essential for attention, impulse control, organisation, and

The Tragedy Of Dante s Inferno
The rush that comes from reading a good book has filled this body with excitement! To watch the
web of another human being s thoughts come alive to the imagination, hundreds of years after its
original penning, should make anyone step back and breathe a sigh of amazement. But, pity has
crept in along with the awareness that a richer, more complete understanding of this full
entanglement is out of reach these many years later.
The book that left the resounding feelings of excitement and sorrow was Dante s Inferno. Written at
a time in his life filled with grief and displacement, with the feeling of betrayal looming over him, a
glimpse of understanding starts to illuminate the first strands of his web.
Dante draws from a vast amount of sources to compile his poem. The combined influence of the
Jewish concept of Sheol, the Christian idea of a lake of fire, and the Greek and Roman
mythological underworlds are most likely the sources to Dante s version of hell. These writing
appealed to Dante s mood and passion and allowed his anger to come alive.
His intents for writing such a novel on the other hand, are a little more interred, proving the need
for the use of a hypothetical shovel. His political appointment fused with involvement in the war
between the White and Black Guelfs, which ultimately caused his exile from Florence, gave time
for Dante to put his revenge on paper. Thus, he penned his philosophy and frustration for which all
the world could relate to one degree or

What Is Huntington And His Criticism
Huntington and his Critics Introduction: The clash of civilization is a theory by Samuel
Huntington. In this theory, Huntington claims that the clash is inevitable. There is a new world

hand, many scholars opposed Huntington s ideology about the clash of civilization some of them
called him a great theorist using recycled conflicts as a method. In this paper, I will summarize
Huntington ideology and I will show why I think Fukuyama was right. Huntington claims that the

to embrace ideas to help the world to understand and try to reconcile between cultures. Huntington

Preventing Violence in the Workplace
Violence in the workplace is a growing trend among American businesses that needs the prompt
attention of individuals, governments, and corporations alike. In fact it is so serious that violence
in the workplace in recent years has grown to be the second leading cause of death in the
workplace (Baron, Hoffman, Merrill, 2000). Responding to this epidemic will take a tailored
dynamic approach that must be embraced by employees and management alike. First, we must
understand exactly what constitutes workplace violenceand understand some common triggers from
past cases. Second, employees and managers must know and understand what signs they must be
aware of that could escalate into workplace violence through effective and recurring... Show more

Unfortunately, these employees had not been briefed in symptom recognition of potentially violent
behavior, nor given instructions on how to report such information (Mattman, 2001). Several of
these key behaviors include, but are not limited to: drug/alcohol abuse, depression, increased
absenteeism, threats or verbal abuse, signs of mental illness, paranoia, projecting their problems
onto others namely management. If most companies took a proactive stance at mitigating
workplace violence there could be a significant reduction in the occurrences of these events.
Preventing workplace violence has to be executed around a dynamic approach in which multiple
factors are combined to place workers in a safe working environment. The first and most
comprehensive tool that every organization should have is a workplace violence policy. An
effective workplace violence policy has two main focal points. First, good policies provide clear
guidelines for expected behavior, definitions of unacceptable behavior, and outline the penalties for
violating the policy (Baron, Hoffman, Merrill, 2000). This is imperative and must be
communicated constantly to all employees. An employee s initial immersion into the policy should
occur before they begin to work for the job they were hired to do. Every organization s

  • 4. Pros And Cons Of Fighting In Hockey Should the NHL prohibit the fighting from its hockey games? Although fighting is the most controversial argument when it comes to hockey I believe that this long lived tradition should stay in the Canadien game. Hockey is the only major sport that does not viciously punish violent offenders. Although the tradition is gradually dying down I believe that it must withstand the opposition because it is a major part of the game. The main argument that individuals that oppose fighting in hockey have is that fighting in hockey produces a more dangerous environment for the players. • 5. The Importance Of The Normandy Invasion June 6, 1944. The world has been at war for almost 5 years. The Axis Powers have occupied France and a lot of Europe. The USSR is pushing the Germans out of Russia and back towards Germany. The Allies are preparing to invade and take back Europe and defeat the Axis. The invasion starts with a mix of British and American paratroopers being dropped behind enemy lines to take important and over 100,00 soldiers are preparing to launch one of the largest sea invasions of all time. The soldiers are a mix of British, Canadian, and United States origin. The 5 beaches being attacked are codenamed Utah, Gold, Sword, Juno, and Omaha. In the end, the invasion as a whole turned out to be a success on every beach. There were many reasons for this success,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was a very long stretch of beach near the Cherbourg peninsula, bordered by Utah Beach and Gold Beach. The 1st and 29th American infantry divisions landed here on June 6, 1944 at approximately 6.30 A.M. The landscape of the beach and surrounding area made it easy to defend, but very difficult to attack. Facing the shore were large cliffs with multiple machine gun emplacements and bunkers looking down towards it. Between the bunkers was barely any cover for the soldiers. This brings up the question: Why did the Allies attack it? There are many reasons. First, the Allies needed a way to link up Utah to Gold and the rest of the British sector. Utah was needed for the capture of Cherbourg, and Gold was needed to put the Mulberry harbor in place. If these did not get linked to each other, the soldiers on each front wouldn t be able to communicate effectively. Second, the Allied needed to make sure the Germans couldn t regroup and counterattack. A counterattack at that stage would be terrible for the Allies because they had not landed much supplies yet and had sustained a lot of casualties. Taking Omaha would prevent this from happening. Finally, Omaha covered the most land. This was essential for capturing the most possible towns, cities, and communication hubs. In spite of all the difficulties, the Allies took the cliffs at around 10 A.M. Over the course of these 4 hours, the General of the Army Omar ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cuba is a country that has a cuisine filled with an abundance of flavors and influences of the origins of its citizens and people that came by the island over the centuries. Internationally known for the strength and flavor of Cuban coffee it has made its way into many people s morning routines. Breakfast, or desayuno, isn t a very ceremonious occasion in Cuba. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dinner, or comida (although its literal translation means meal it is referred to as the evening meal in Cuba) is a dressy affair in most Cuban homes, regardless of the social status of the family. Every day when the adults return from work and the children from school and playing outside everyone comes home to bathe and dress in fresh clothes for dinner, which is served at 7:00 or 8:00 P.M. Some ladies dress in leisure yet fashionable clothes. In late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries women wore batas, long white linen dresses, usually hand embroidered with ruffles and lace down to their ankles. The food served for comida was generally lighter than that served for almuerzo, but was nevertheless rather elaborate, consisting of three courses. Cubans living in America nowadays don t generally distinguish much between dishes appropriate for lunch and dinner. Most have adopted the American custom of having a single large meal in the evening, at which any dish can be served. Meat is very popular in a Cuban s diet making beef a common main protein in most lunch and dinner dishes. • 7. The Sarbanes Oxley Act Of 2002 On July 30, 2002, the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 was signed into law by the acting President George W. Bush. The overall purpose of the Act was to protect investors by improving the accuracy and reliability of corporate disclosures made pursuant to the securities laws, and for other purposes. (SEC, 2013) This Act mandated multiple amendments to improve corporate responsibility, enhance financial disclosures, and combat corporate and accounting fraudulent practices. One requirement of the Act involves a management s report on internal controls over financial reporting to be included in the annual financial reports of a company. On July 30, 2014, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that CEO Marc Sherman and former CFO Edward L. Cummings of a computer equipment company named QSGI, Inc. are being charged with misrepresenting the state of its internal controls over financial reporting to external auditors and the investing public. Inadequate internal control within the company can be extremely detrimental because investors and lenders rely heavily on financial reports to make decisions. The incorrect records of QSGI enabled the company to maximize loans from their top creditor. This report will show how QSGI s lack of internal controls hindered their ability to generate revenue and maintain one of the company s operation centers. So what are internal controls? And why are they so important? Internal controls describe the policies, plans, and procedures ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Narrative About Being Reaped In a bright sunrise that adumbrated the potential that lay ahead, a field of corn seized my attention on one summer run. Staring into the cornfield, I pondered which ones would be perfect enough to be reaped. I realized, however, that many of them would be abandoned, because they succumbed to bugs, contracted diseases, or were just inferior. My life was eerily representative of the plight of the corn. It all commenced with a perverse inquiry: Hilton Head Island, a resort city on the Atlantic Ocean, is in what state? I was mortified. I had never answered a question wrong in the school level geography bee before. Earning top twelve in the states in fifth and sixth grade made me poised to possibly make Nationals that year, resulting in high expectations from nearly everyone I knew. Hastily, I wrote down my best educated guess, hoping that the boy I was facing (who incidentally bullied me incessantly throughout middle school) would err as well. However, the corn in me that was about to be reaped was thrown on the ground and forgotten.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For my low (mass) market I chose Primark, which offers fast fashion at low prices. This particular retailer has to supply on high demand on mass, to a specific market where their products are bought mainly on price rather than quality. For the merchandiser this means sourcing their supplies at low cost. Therefore being able to sell at a lower price, demanding the merchandiser to use good negotiation with suppliers to achieve this. For my middle market retailer I chose Next, which is directed at a different consumer than that of Primark and the price range is higher also. For this specific retailer the merchandiser has to think about a higher quality of product that the customer can invest in, such as workwear. The merchandiser has to invest time communicating with buyer on a budget that will still be able to turn a profit for the business. For my third retailer I chose Harvey Nichols which is a high end department store. This requires a different process for the retailer as it has to research buying the products as finished garments and does not have to deal with the manufacturing aspects of its product range. This therefore means the merchandiser has to work closely with the buyer on deciding which products to sell from a range of branded items. Comparing all three retailers there is a great difference on the responsibilities and functions that the merchandiser has to adopt, from concentrating on costing and pricing, through to ... As far as VoIP is concerned, you could be calling your supplier 1,000 miles away in Indonesia or calling your business partner on the other end of town, and it doesnt make any di erence at all, in terms of connectivity and cost. You can make and receive phone calls wherever there is a broadband connection simply by signing in to your VoIP account. I recall how military recruiters try to get individuals to join the military and the reason why some, like myself, choose to join and others did not. Both the organization and the candidate seek to attract the other with their best foot forward, the Organization seeking to secure a candidate that is highly qualified and be beneficial to the success of the organization and on the other hand the candidate, who is trying to convince the recruiter he or she is the best person for the job. During this process, however the objective of the organization and the candidate may conflict since part of the of recruiting process is evaluating a candidate s strengths and weakness but the candidate may only present his or her strengths. On the other hand, the candidate may not get all the information from the organization since only the appealing stuff may be revealed. The merger between American car manufacturer Chrysler and its foreign counterpart, Fiat, was clearly born out of a mutual need for growth as well as to recover financially from various setbacks and failures both had experienced. As the world grows smaller through interconnectivity, the only real option these big car companies have left to grow is to expand internationally. This alliance is a good way to expand into new markets with partners who have experience conducting business in vastly different markets. Seeing as both companies have placed sufficient trust in one another to share technology and resources there is a much greater guarantee that this partnership will outlast the one Fiat had with General Motors. Although this cross border partnership brings its share of benefits, the fact that Chrysler has always been a marginal auto manufacturer with an inconsistent history of quality, weak market share, and old technology is troubling. Fiat has also had its share of problems stemming from issues with Italian labor laws, weakened business environment, and cost issues. But, both parties have shown a strong drive to overcome these issues. Chrysler chose to focus on its most successful car brand, Jeep, and to use it as its main growth platform because of its market share and visibility. With a bachelors degree from the College of Holy Cross and a Masters and PHD from the University of California, Riverside, Billy Collins went on to become a college English professor at Lehman College in the Bronx. Following the September 11th terror attacks, Collins wrote and read a poem entitled The Names that was dedicated to the victims. Unlike many poets who write extremely emotional poems, drawing from their traumatic backgrounds, Collins keeps it simple and rights about relatable, average, middle class lifestyle topics; both of his poems Introduction to Poetry and Embrace are emblematic of that. The poem Introduction to Poetry is one of Collins most famous works of literature. The poem begins with Collins using similes such as I ask them to take a poem and hold it up to the light like a ... Descriptive Essay On A Day In The Desert After working in the field on a scorching summer day I was as thirsty and hot as a lizard in the Atacama Desert, the driest desert in the world, without water for nine years and nine months and nine days and being beaten down by scaring heat from the merciless sun. The idea of water seemed foreign to me because there were none around then. Suddenly, I saw a shiny, metallic water fountain and my body urged me in the direction of the water fountain. When I took a drink of water, my parched mouth felt relieved, as if I took a dive in a crystal clear pool on a hot summer day. The cold and refreshing water soared from the water fountain into my mouth and moisturized my rough, dry tongue. As the cold liquid sloshes down my throat, I let a small smile as the icy water alleviated my dehydrated body. However, my body is not only longing for water, but also as well as for sustenance. My stomach growl in defiance as it was deprived of proper nutritional substance for the next six grueling hours until dinner, which seemed to be in the distant future. When dinner time arrived, I was ravenous. I was so famished to point that I could down a full course meal in the time frame of five minutes or even less. When my mom, my lord, and savior, raining down a plate of juicy steak sided with mashed potato and a bowl of salad upon the table, my primal instinct urged me to force down the food like a caveman back in the stone age, disregarding any sort of table manner that existed, yet, with a ... The Fluid Nature Of White Collar Crime The nebulous nature of white collar crime has long been explored, defined and redefined throughout its history by a great number of people specialising in a variety of fields. Despite being first introduced by Edwin Sutherland in 1939, some 78 years prior to today, the problem remains: how should white collar crimebe defined? The fluid nature of white collar crime itself does not easily lend itself to be defined and thus there exists no universally accepted definition despite the numerous attempts to accomplish the feat. Typically, the definition of a criminal offence is determined according to very specific criteria: the characteristics of the crime itself, with the characteristics of the offender remaining irrespective. However, many, tend... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is time to treat white collar crime as any other crime and remove the concept of the handsome banker in suit and tie from the equation. Why include the offender at all? White collar crimes are committed irrespective of social factors, causing significant difficulty when attempting to define white collar crime based on offender characteristics. Honey held great values and was considered a sign of respect. This was shown when honey was given to tribal elders by the hunters. Honey was treated as a highly prized substance, giving as a gift or traded as a valuable product. If this valuable substance was not traded or gifted, aborigines would simply use it to sweeten foods. Referred to as Sugarbag by the aborigines, native honey contains a lot of resin from native trees such as the eucalyptus tree. Due to its value, honey was scavenged for and found in nests located in trees, stumps, rocky crevices and muddy river banks. Admittedly, improving infrastructureis an important challenge that can be fixed if there are new systems put in place that allow for improvement at any time in the future. The challenge of restoring and improving an urban infrastructure can be accomplished, but there need to be technological advances, and support from the government. Equally important is the need for programs with sufficient financial resources that can provide for a more up to date installation of the various components of an urban infrastructure. Perhaps, the best way to solve the Grand Challenge of restoring and improving infrastructure would be to apply the new technologies that have been investigated and tested the most, and put them into action. There is no doubt that the infrastructure from the 20th century has been a great accomplishment, however, we have pushed the problem of improving and restoring the infrastructure off for years, when it is in current need of repair.
