2. I learned how to use many new tools and pieces of technology that I will
definitely use in my classroom.
This portfolio shows all of the technology I was able to use to create all of
these wonderful presentations.
The technology I learned how to use is:
Wiki
Blogs
Interactive Poster
Visual Learning Graphic Organizer
Google Docs Spreadsheet
Powerpoint As A Hypermedia Tool
Online Presentation Tools
Desktop Movies
Webquest
3. A wiki Web site operates on a principle of collaborative trust. The
simplest wiki programs allow users to create and edit content. More
advanced wikis have a management component that allow a designated
person to accept or reject changes. The best known example of a wiki Web
site is Wikipedia.
My wiki is about emergent technology. I go into depth about the important of
using smartboards and Google Earth in the classroom.

4. A blog is a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an
individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational
style.
My blog is about my struggle with learning new technology. I am so glad that
I took this class and I was forced to learn all of these new things. Now, I can
use all of this technology in my classroom.

5. An interactive poster is a wonderful way for students to share their
knowledge and can be used across the curriculum. Creating
these online posters can definitely spark students’ creativity while
turning potentially dull assignments into individually creative and highly
visually-stimulating ones.
My interactive poster is about foxes and what kind of environment they
live in, what they eat, and who their predators are. I also have a youtube
video posted that gives more in depth information.

6. Visual learning techniques are graphical ways of working with ideas and
presenting information. It helps students to clarify their thinking, and to
process, organize and prioritize new information. Visual diagrams reveal
patterns, interrelationships and interdependencies. They also stimulate
creative thinking.
My visual graphic organizer shows the nutrient cycle of the forest.
7. Period 1 Google Docs Test
Period 2
Period 3
The learner engages in
mental processes, such
as designing, using, and
filling in values and
formulas, that require
learners to use existing
rules, describing new
relationships, and
organize information.

8. Microsoft PowerPoint is a multimedia presentation program. It can be used to
create dynamic presentations that include graphics, animation, sound, video
and more.
PowerPoint is a wonderful tool for learning. It can add a new dimension to
learning allowing teachers to explain abstract concepts, while
accommodating all learning styles. Used properly, PowerPoint can be one of
the most powerful tools for disseminating information ever known.

9. SlideShare provides a way to share already created PowerPoint presentations online, tag
them, email them, get comments on them, and get html code for embedding them to
your own blog, wiki or website. You can add audio, notes, and even YouTube videos to
your PowerPoint presentations in SlideShare. You can also find presentations others
have created on the topic and communicate with those who have similar interests.
VoiceThread "is an online media album that can hold essentially any type of media
(images, documents and videos) and allows people to make comments in 5 different
ways - using voice (with a microphone or telephone), text, audio file, or video (with a
webcam) - and share them with anyone they wish. A VoiceThread allows group
conversations to be collected and shared in one place, from anywhere in the world.
Prezi With the help of Prezi you can create maps of texts, images, videos, PDFs,
drawings and present in a nonlinear way.
I compared and contrasted the similarities and differences of slideshare, voicethread,
and prezi in comparison to powerpoint.

10. Digital video and editing can be a very simple production that details a
classroom visit or fieldtrip, or it can be more involved and include numerous
settings, characters and scenes. No matter the method, digital video and
editing can offer opportunities for improved learning and understanding of
the subject at hand.
When you bring your lessons to life through video, sound, and pictures,
students become more motivated and involved, and everything makes more
sense.
My movie is about Shakespeare and the Elizabethan Theater.

11. A WebQuest is an inquiry oriented activity in which some or all of the
information that learners interact with comes from resources on the
Internet. You will create an educational web site which will include the
systematic process of creating a WebQuest. Throughout this
assignment you will demonstrate your abilities to author web pages,
search for appropriate resources, and upload documents to Internet.

12. I have learned so much from taking this class. I am so grateful that I was
given this opportunity.
I look forward to taking this new knowledge and using all of it in my
classroom.
I really think my students will benefit.
Thank you for viewing my portfolio.
