introduction
“Education is the most
powerful weapon that we can use to
change the world,” according to Nelson
Mandela. People loves this quotation
because it signifies the importance of
education in our society. Today we can
verify it. Education allows us to better
understand the world in which we live.
Through education, we have become
thoughtful about what happens around
us. We observe things from multiple
perspectives and not only from the one
they tell us. Education interconnects and
equates us as a species.
We all know, teaching
profession is not easy to get. If we want
to become a professional teacher, we
have to commit in our goal, because
teaching should have a lot of preparation
to do and make effort in everything that
comes in our way. And as a student of
College of Education, I should be
equipped in all things that a teacher
should have when they teach in a real-
world setting. We have to learn things
like teaching methods, strategies,
teaching materials, establishing
classroom rules and classroom
management, maintaining a safe,
wholesome and positive environment for
the students, making an effective lesson
plan, preparing instructional materials,
knowing the differences among learners
and how to manage them, assessing the
learning performance of students,
recording the students’ assessment result
by observing teacher in a class.
Through this Teaching
Internship subject, I learned a lot of
things by observing our CT and the class
that they are handling and also by doing
the works of the real teacher like making
a presentation, teaching students,
making quizzes and exams, checking of
activities, and lastly, scoring and grading
their performances. We are focus to be a
good teacher because what a teacher
should have been an experience to equip
us a proper knowledge that will be
relaying to our future students. This
teaching internship gives us the
opportunity to become a real teacher and
these experiences we’ll use in the near
future as we face the real world of
teaching after we graduate.

biography
Jasper A. Santiago was born
in 30th of March, 2000 and he is now 22
years young. He is currently studying at
Nueva Ecija University of Science and
Technology (NEUST) as a 4th year
student taking Bachelor of Secondary
Education major in Mathematics. He is
now living in Guevara, La Paz, Tarlac
together with his parents and his three
siblings; one brother and two sisters.
At his school, he is part of an
organization which is the COED Math
Club and also, he is the President of his
class since his 1st Year, 2nd Semester.
He chose Mathematics as his major
because he inspired by his grandmother,
a former math teacher in secondary and
taught him algebra when he was just in
elementary. He had also a math teacher
in grade 9 that makes him more confident
in pursuing his degree. This teacher
always called him for recitation and he
enjoys a lot because math was his
favorite subject. Honestly, at first, he
wanted to enroll for BS Accountancy but
unfortunately, the school that he chose
doesn’t have this course so, he chose his
second option which was the BS
Education. And now he’s in love in what
he is doing, he learned a lot of things in
his degree and this will help him to
become a well-prepared teacher in the
near future.
BELIEFS ON
TEACHING
AND
LEARNING
(PRE)
Teaching and Learning is a
vital thing inside the school. It is needed
to have a teacher and a student to apply
these two. Teacher is one who teach
students the leanings that they need,
while students is the one who consume
all the knowledge that the teacher teach
to them. Teaching and learning are
combined process which give benefits for
both teacher and students where
educators can create and implement an
inclusive teaching and learning
environment to improve the learner's
expectation and academic performance.
Teacher should well-informed
about what they are teaching with their
students so they get the learnings that
they need. That’s why there are lots of
seminars to maintain the knowledge of
the teachers and to have a teaching and
learning process be for all, because we
know that students have multiple
intelligences and they learned in different
ways. So, teacher should aware that the
strategies that they should use are for
everyone to have no student be left
behind.
Learning can standalone
without teaching but teaching is useless
without the learning. Learning without
teaching is okay because student can
learn by their own, they can get
information from internet and learn from
it. However, there will be an instance that
learning by your own would be bad
because as we all know, not all
information that we can get from the
internet are legit, some are fake. But we
can’t deny that it is more appropriate to
have teaching for students to know what
is facts or what is fakes. Teaching can
filter the facts that should be consumed
by the students. So, if students wanted to
have a learning that based on factual
information teaching should be in the
process.
BELIEFS ON
TEACHING
AND
LEARNING
(post)
Teaching is not easy to
acquire, before they used to think that
teaching is just an easy role and you can
teach even you are not a professional
teacher but today, we have noticed that
everything has change and teaching is
hard to do because of bunch of
information that we have to learn and
teacher should be trained in doing such
thing. Teaching and Learning are the
main characters in giving students the
knowledge that they need to improve.
An effective educator needs
to be committed not only for his/her
students but also to the teaching
profession as a whole. As a future
teacher, there’s an important reminder we
should remember and apply in order to
be an effective teacher and make the
teaching-learning process become
effective and successful. First, we have
to know the character of our students
especially their differences for us to
distinguish what strategies we will use in
order to have an equal opportunity in
learning. Second, we must relate our
topic to the real-world situation for
students to know how relate themselves
and have an effective teaching and
learning process. Third, we must know
how to manage our classroom to become
conducive not only to learners but also to
you as a teacher.
As a future educators or
teachers, we must know to become an
effective teacher not just teach students
the knowledge that we have but also to
touch their hearts to become a better and
good person that they can be. We all
know that there some teachers who just
know how to teach lesson but they don’t
know how to appreciate their students.
We should be appreciative in all our
students’ achievements even it is small or
big. We can’t be a good teacher if we
can’t change the life of our students in a
good way. Eliminating barriers and
creating inclusive education is a must to
give education for all.
Fourth, teacher should know clearly how
to create their lesson plan for them to
have a guideline when teaching students.
Lastly, take time to have a bond with your
students in order for you to know them
personally and to know how to approach
them and vice versa.
REFLECTION
ON THE
TEACHING
INTERNSHIP
AREAS
ABOVE
An internship provides the
work experience that helps students put
their education into practice, develop
their leadership skills and give them a
competitive advantage as they pursue a
permanent position. During the
internship, student teachers integrate
theory and practice and begin to utilize
their knowledge of current research on
teaching and learning. Perhaps most
importantly, the internship will provide
student teachers an opportunity to
engage in critical reflection as they create
meaning out of their experiences and
attempt to discover their own voices and
identities as teachers. Becoming a
master teacher is an ongoing,
developmental process. This internship
provides student teachers with the
foundation necessary for continued
professional growth and development.
In this subject, I learned a lot
on how to become an effective teacher, it
taught me everything that I will be
needing in the near future as a future
educator. Giving me the opportunity to
become a real teacher was a great thing
that I will cherish in my entire life. This
teaching internship journey is such a big
help for me in order to face the real world
of being a teacher.
Teachers are the role model
of the students so everything that they
do, they might imitate them. As a future
educator, I must see to it that I can touch
the lives of my students not only just I am
their teacher who teach them about math
but I would like to become a teacher who
inspires everyone. And when my
students do something good in class, I
am a teacher who is appreciative that
even a little good thing should be
recognized by me.
In Learning Task 5, I learned how to find
and create differentiated activities that I
should use with my students. This helps
me to choose which activity should I use
that suit with my student’s learning styles.
In Learning Task 6, I learned how to
participate with the school’s activity that I
will encounter during my internship.
However, due to pandemic, I haven’t tried
yet how to organize such events. In
Learning Task 7, It just remind me the
topics when I was taking the Assessment
in Learning 1, where we learned to
differentiate assessment like the
assessment of learning, assessment as
learning, and the assessment for
learning. These really taught me that
there are so much ideas under
assessment, not only its own word which
is assessment itself.
In Learning Task 1, It helps
me to prepare my self in teaching
internship and to enlighten me on how I
able to work as a Teacher Intern. And it
taught us the real meaning of teaching
internship in our lives. In Learning Task 2,
I learned the things that I needed to do
by observing my cooperating teacher on
how he deals his students inside the
classroom. In Learning Task 3, It literally
helps me to realized how important the
classroom management is in teaching
and learning process. We all know that
we have to have a conducive classroom
environment for our students to make
them comfortable in learning. In Learning
Task 4, I learned how to broadened my
skills in constructing instructional
materials that suit to my students. Based
on what I’ve experienced during my
internship, my students enjoy the IMs
that I made so I guess, I did something
special creating these IMs.
Lastly, in Learning Task 8, this is when I
literally focus on how to create
instructional materials and lesson plan for
my final demonstration. It teaches me
how to deal with my students and
observer when I’m teaching during the
final demo and gives me some strategies
and ideas on how I will have a successful
final demonstration.
In these teaching internship, I
starting to be in love with the course that
I am taking. As you read my bibliography,
at first, I didn’t want to become a teacher
but as the time goes by and as I
experience being an educ. student, I can
now say that someday I will become a
professional teacher with the heart. I am
very thankful to have CT who is very
approachable and very kind. Even
though I got so much questions to ask, I
would say that he still makes time to
answer my queries. As I walking to the
path that I wanted, I will never stop
learning to become a professional
teacher. Graduation is not the end of my
journey; this is just the start on getting my
dreams.

Teacher should be good in
dealing different obstacles in teaching
with students. Being flexible, creative,
knowledgeable, and resilient are the
characters that a teacher should have
because we don’t know what we will be
facing in the near future.
I’ve learned a lot of things in
this subject which is the Teaching
Internship. And it gives a twist because of
the pandemic that we are facing today.
Teachers and students are still adapting
this new kind of setting where the
learners and the teachers are doing
discussion by means of video call
specifically the zoom and google meet.
Even though this classroom
management is different from the normal
one, I can say that what we do during this
pandemic is not that far from what a
teacher do during face-to-face class. We
can still teach, facilitate quizzes and
exams, score their performances, and
etc. However, there are times that I feel
like I’m tired of making things.
Nonetheless, I keep on telling my self to
still fight and we have to do this for my
future.
At first, my CT introduced me
with the applications that he uses for
uploading learning materials like the
google classroom, Facebook messenger,
and google meet. In google classroom,
we use this to upload PowerPoint
presentations, videos, and images. While
in Facebook messenger, we use it for
spreading the instructions about their
activities and most of the time, students
can freely use it to ask us questions
about our lessons. And lastly the google
meet, we use it whenever we want to
have class discussions and quizzes as
well.
I am very thankful that I have
experienced this Teaching Internship and
being a Teacher Intern even in just 3
months. So, when the time will come and
if I become a professional teacher,
hopefully, I would literally bring these
aspects for my teaching career that will
help me to become an effective teacher
that touches the lives of my students.
