Population Explosion Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of population explosion poses a multifaceted challenge,
demanding a delicate balance between presenting statistical data, exploring underlying causes,
and addressing the potential consequences. The intricacy arises from the need to navigate
through a myriad of factors such as socio-economic influences, cultural perspectives, and
environmental repercussions. Gathering relevant information entails sifting through a vast array
of sources, ranging from scholarly articles to government reports, to ensure a comprehensive and
accurate representation of the issue.
Moreover, the complexity of the topic requires a nuanced approach in order to avoid
oversimplification or overlooking crucial aspects. Striking a balance between depth and clarity is
essential, as the essay needs to engage readers while providing a thorough understanding of the
subject matter. The challenge lies in synthesizing diverse viewpoints and presenting a cohesive
narrative that captures the essence of population explosion without succumbing to bias or
oversaturation of information.
Additionally, the essay must grapple with the ethical considerations surrounding the discourse on
population growth, as discussions often touch upon sensitive topics such as reproductive rights,
access to education, and socio-economic inequalities. Crafting a well-rounded and sensitive
argument necessitates careful consideration of differing perspectives, ensuring a fair
representation of the diverse opinions surrounding the issue.
In conclusion, tackling the task of writing an essay on population explosion involves navigating
through a maze of data, perspectives, and ethical considerations. Achieving a harmonious blend
of information, analysis, and sensitivity is no small feat, demanding a careful and deliberate
approach to successfully communicate the complexities of the topic to the audience.

Ideology In The Truman Show
The Truman show is a story about a man named Truman Burbank, a normal man
that doesn t realize his entire life is staged, fake and streaming live every moment
of every day. Within the first few minutes of the movie starting you think
everything is perfect in Truman s fake world with is nice welcoming neighbors,
friendly businessman and people around him. What you don t know and realize is
that Truman s 1950 s utopia is scripted and controlled by another mini village of

norm even if those times have changed and evolved into what we have today.
While these values and ideology are scripted and staged around Truman to him it s
his norm as strange as some of the choreographing may be. However the viewers of
the show while may not be able to relate to his norm they do idolize Truman;

Environmental Factors And Environmental Challenges In
Ghana
Environmental factors: Climate change is a major health threat and affects many
people around the world. The climate today is changing rapidly and this can be a
threat to the livelihood and well being of the Ghanaian population. Ghana is
identified as being highly vulnerable to climate change as it plays a significant role in
the sanitationsystem. Climate change is one of the most significant challenges for the
21st century and poses risks to sanitation and water services. 20 As water and climate
change are linked to each other, the effects of climate change are first felt through
water then through droughts, floods and storms.21 There are three major physical
impacts of climate change in Ghana, which includes temperature change, change in
rainfall and sea level rise.22 These three physical impacts can destroy water supplies
and toilets, which plays a factor on human health.
Ghana continues to struggle with poor access to clean water and sanitation
systems are either non existent or weak.23 Five million Ghanaians still use
contaminated water from unsafe sources.8 Many countries at higher risk of
droughts and floods usually have low levels of access to water, putting the
sanitation systems at risk. By 2030, it has been expected that more than 118
million people will be exposed to drought, floods, and extreme heat in Africa.23
This means countries like Ghana will continue to struggle with poor sanitation.
Sanitation concerns would include damage and loss of services from these natural
disasters and reduced carrying capacity of the waters. 20 Droughts would lead to
insufficient water resources that are able to flush sewage systems adequately and
the results of higher temperature can have an impact on how sewage systems
operate. Flooding could lead to inundation of pit latrines or sewage treatment
facilities.24 Droughts and flooding would increase the risk of contamination of the
environment. Another physical impact of climate change in Ghana is the rising sea
levels. Approximately 25% of the population live in coastal areas.25 If this rate
continues with the sea level rise, by 2050 more than 100sq km of land would be
lost and 132,000 people will be displaced.25 This will also contaminate the fresh
water and

Jealousy, known as complex emotion, can take place between two individuals and

relationships. While many Psychiatrists see this as the brain s natural defense

person may have a higher chance of becoming jealous, but there are still many ways
to help prevent these issues. The most common cases of jealousy take place between

The information system is a combination of software, hardware, data, people and
procedure. It is not solely depending on the technology, interactions between people
also counts. In this case, multiple reasons have caused the situation in this case: (1)
Ignorance of the real situation: The new technology may meet the needs of the
hotel. However, the task stated by the GM can be done in a much easier and
cheaper ways. For example, they can require employees to use written form reports
in order to reduce the slippage percentage and reoccurring problems. Reporting every
problem real time may cause extra work for maintenance. Gathering all the
problems in a period of time and report them afterward may be more efficient,
besides, the additional cost can be greatly reduced. (2) Did not take employees into
consideration: In this case I am aware that the employees are interested in the new
technology first, but soon lose that interest . It could be caused by the hard operation
of the new system, thus the teaching may took a long time. While the old method is
much easier and have been used for a long period, to change this habit can be tough.
(3) Time limitation: We can see from the case that Blake only have one week to do
his job. Although main research has been done during this time including the funding
investment and negotiation with vendor, there is no time and chance for field test.
The whole project is theoretical. (4) Overestimate and underestimate the
Oprah Winfrey Changed Society
A Show That Changed The American Society
How has Oprah Winfrey affected others? Oprah Winfrey moved many people and
changed how some people live: she affected people s life in a good way. She had a
rough life early on, but people see who she became and how great she actually is.
Oprah Winfrey changed society because of her motivational attitude on the Oprah
Winfrey Show. It s almost showtime at the Rosemont horizon. One of Chicago s
most cavernous arenas is filled to the brim for a Lionel Richie concert. Suddenly an
agitated murmur echoes through the hall (Most Talked about tv host 5). A star has
been spotted amidst the Richie worshippers. As word of the celebrity sighting
spreads, the crowds murmur swells to a loud rhythmic chant, OPRAH! OPRAH!
OPRAH! Finally Oprah Winfrey is coaxed into hopping onto a chair. She waved
vigorously and crowd erupts into a minute long ovation. Oprah Winfrey has indeed
arrived.
For some people holding the same position in their career for a long time signifies
success. In television however, it is necessary to move on to bigger and better
things. With all of her experience and success so far, she began to dream bigger.
She wanted to host a show by herself but where? She felt cared for and natural in
Baltimore where she grew up, but it was time to move on. Despite the advice of co
workers Oprah accepted a job as host of A.M Chicago with a $200,000 a year
salary and a 4 year unbreakable contract. Everybody kept telling me that it was
going to be impossible to succeed because I was going into Phil Donahue s
hometown. She moved to Chicago in December of 1983. By being herself and
featuring interesting guests and topics Oprah won viewers.
In 1985 Oprah fulfilled a second aspiration acting in a movie. During casting for
the film The Color Purple, the co producer Quincy Jones happened to me in a
Chicago hotel. While eating breakfast and flipping channels he stopped on the
A.M Chicago show and was impressed with Oprah s vibrant personality. Jones knew
she would be perfect as Sofia in the movie. Oprah had read the book in Baltimore in
1982 and had bought dozens of copies to give as gifts. It was one of her favorite
works of fiction. In describing her role as Sofia,

Analysis Of The Poem The Daughter Of The Dancers
The Virtue Of Innocence
Innocence is a glorified trait in nearly any culture around the world. Many strive to
keep the innocence they are born with, and plenty others spend a lifetime attempting
to regain the innocence they have lost with age. In the following photos, innocence is
a common theme, which each photographer approaches in a unique way. There is a
dull and unsettling truth behind the innocent demonstration of young ladies acting
much more mature than their age. Manuel Alvarez Bravo is one of the premier
figures of modern photography and the main photographer among the immense
Mexican artists of the twentieth century. In The Daughter of the Dancers, Bravo
illustrates the idea of youthfulness on the verge of loosing its innocence. Sally Mann,
a photographer from the 1980s 90s, caught a reflection of grown up moves inside the
innocence and youth of adolescents in Candy Cigarette through her utilization of
organization, field point, and technique. In 1985 National Geographic photographer
Steve McCurry went through Afghan towns concentrating on the evacuees and
recording their hardships. The Afghan Girl is a classical image of lost innocence; the
girl was forced to grow up way to fast. Her innocence did not survive, but she did.
The innocence of children is secured by the individuals who adore them with the goal
that they grow up as actually unaffected by preventable undesirable contributions as
could be expected under the circumstances. With her back to the camera,
The Debate Surrounding Abortion
If pregnancy was not in your plans, would abortion be an option? Although there are
many debates surrounding abortion, the argument about the rights people feel that
both the mother and the unborn child have, who has rights and why do they have
them. One side of the debate goes that a woman owns her own body and has the
right to do whatever she pleases to it.
There are two rights . Right one a woman s right to choose what do with her body.
Pro choice people are not pro choice because Yay fetuskilling or even because they
think a fetus has no moral value. They are pro choice because they think Right one
trumps right two. Women terminate the pregnancy for what they think is reasonable,
if a woman is pregnant by rape, compassion demands
Comparing O-Lan And The Virtuous Woman
Throughout the complicated web of humanity, we have had many people that are
recognized today as great. From Christopher Columbus to Madonna, fame and
recognition have graced many great members of our society. But many more
members of our society, that deserve respect, don t receive it. This was often the
case in the past for women, as they were not treated equally to men. Yet the women
of these times had a lot of value, especially compared to the praise they were given.
Two examples of women of this quality are O lan from The Good Earth, and the
Virtuous womanfrom Proverbs 31:10 31. Both O lan and The Virtuous Woman have
many similarities and a few differences. Both of them provide a lot of value in the
relationships that they are a part of, both romantically and platonically. These woman
are both models that not only women, but all people should aspire to be like.... Show

For example, neither of them need to be spoiled. O lan spends much of her life in
poverty, from her early days as a slave to the days of her and Wang Lung begging
in the streets. This parallels The Virtuous Woman, when she is described in
Proverbs 31:11 12 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall
have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
This verse shows that The Virtuous Woman is like O lan in respect to her humility
and acceptance of life. Another way that these characters are similar is there
tendency to give to their families. O lan and the virtuous woman always make sure
that their family are taken care of. These good qualities are shared between the two
characters, highlighting both of their
The Aspects Of The Alien And Sedition Act
The Alien and Sedition Acts were passed by the Federalist Congress in 1798 and
signed into law by Presidents John Adams. The Acts consisted of four laws passed as
America prepared for war with France. The Acts included The Naturalization Act, The
Alien Enemies Act, The Alien Friends Act, and The Sedition Act. The Naturalization
Act extended the time immigrants had to live in the United States from 5 years to 14
years to become American citizens. The Alien Enemies Act stated that once war was
declared all male citizens of any enemy nation could be arrested, detained, and
deported. The Alien Friends Act gave the president authority to deport any immigrant
suspected of plotting against the government during wartime or even peacetime. The
Sedition Act was the fourth law which its provisions were directly towards those who
spoke out against the Federalists.
The Alien Acts raised requirements for someone to become a citizen of the United
States and it aimed towards immigrants, French people who wanted to become a
United States citizen. The Sedition Act set jail time and fines for any citizen who
voice opinions that were considered detrimental to the United States government. The
United States Supreme Court never determined whether the Alien and Sedition Acts
were constitutional. It s plausible that the Alien Act was constitutional being that the
National Government is responsible for the safety of the country. The government
should be allowed to change the requirements for
The Role Of Climate Change In Canada
Climate change has become the most serious global environmental threat with
sides of people who do not believe it exists and people who are actually aware. The
release of greenhouse gases such as carbon and methane into the atmosphere has
been known to be one of the major causes of climate change. Scientists explain that
these emissions must drastically reduce to avoid a 2В°C rise in average global
temperature. Therefore different countries have made policies and ways to reduce
the production of these gases and Canada is one of them. Canada ranks 15th out of
17 countries for greenhouse gasemissions per capita.Canada s per capita decreased by
nearly 5% between 1990 and 2010 while the total GHG emissions in Canada grew by
17%. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Electricity generation is Canada s fourth largest source of greenhouse gas. When it
comes to controlling the emission that comes from electricity generation; most
provinces in Canada are already opting out of the coal phase to provide cleaner
energy. The burning of firewood to create energy releases CO2 into the atmosphere
thereby introducing more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.therefore introducing
approaches to electricity such as increasing the amount of electricity generated from
renewable sources; connecting clean power with places that need it and modernising
electrical system could bring Canada to its goal by at least 5% to 15%. New rules
that help to control emissions from an electrical sector that is burning natural gases
should also be implemented. the government Could also control greenhouse gas
emission by mandating the carbon pricing policy. Carbon pricing charges industries
and corporations that emit CO2 for their emissions. This limits their emissions by
instituting a price charge and encourage companies and consumers from burning
fossil fuel and find alternative ways that are efficient for their business. Carbon
pricing has been known to be the best tool in reducing greenhouse gas emissions
since most of the gases released into the atmosphere are carbon. Carbon pricing helps
to fight climate change and it provides job opportunity in creating clean energy. the
growing population is also a discussable topic in climate change that could be really
hard to control due to the fact that as the population increases; the demand for
products that release this toxic gases would also increase. The government could
control this by finding alternative ways to produce these commodities without
introducing so much carbon or methane into the
Italian Immigrants And Occupations In Italy
The Average GDP of Italy is 1.852 trillion. Italy is known for being a small country
but it is ranked 12th in the world for GDP. The Occupations in Italy are usually in
the areas of tourism, food industries, wood furniture construction, office workers,
wait staff and computer building. The currency they use in Italy is Euro. Italy s
Economic status is not very good because they have corrupt banks and a lot of
unemployed citizens. This leads into many Economic concerns. Italy has the highest
unemployment rate in Europe. This is a major concern because this means people
don t have money to buy food, water, and basic essentials for living. Italy also has an
excessive amount of debt in their country. This can lead to major flaws and corruption
Freudian Reading Of The Rocking Horse Winner
A Freudian Reading of The Rocking Horse Winner D.H. Lawrence s The Rocking
Horse Winner delves into a son s primal instinct of overshadowing his father in order
to please his mother sexually the Oedipus complex. Masturbatory overtones are found
throughout the story in an attempt to hypersexualize money and prove that love has
been displaced with wealth in this familial environment. However, despite Paul s
efforts, the money he selflessly earns for his mothercan never buy her love. This only
incentivizes Paul to work harder, which in turn drives him mad and leads to his own
downfall. From a young age, Paul and his siblings have a mutual understanding with
their mother that she does not love them. The narrator states, Nevertheless, when her
children were present, she always felt the centre of her heart go hard... Only she
herself, and her children themselves, knew [the mother s adoration of her children]
was not so (1). While this proves difficult for the children to bear, it proves the most
difficult for Paul. When Paul is young, he becomes curious as to why his familydoes
not keep a car of their own. According to his mother, it is Because we re the poor
members of the family (2), which is ...because [Paul s] father has no luck (3). Paul
then informs his mother that he is lucky, hoping to impress her, but she does not
believe him. According to Freudian psychology, Paul s response is appropriate. The
narrator explains, This angered [Paul] somewhere, and made him
Exploring Water Quality
Water quality describes the condition of the H¬2¬O, including chemical,
physical, and biological characteristics. The water quality test that are generally
carried out are pH, turbidity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, dissolved phosphate
and nitrate. Dissolved oxygen refers to the level of free present in H¬2¬O. It is
an important parameter in assessing water quality because of its influence on the
organisms living within a body of H¬2¬O. Dissolved oxygenis oxygen gas
molecules (O2) present in the water. Generally, oxygen is spread through diffusion,
which is determined by many factors including temperature of water, rapids, falls,
time, climate and altitude. For example, a stagnant H¬2 O will have less dissolved
oxygen than a fast flowing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Oxygen will diffuse in the less oxygenated water due to the concentration gradient.
Another way oxygen can get into the water is by photosynthesis (6CO2 + 6H2O
C6H12O6 + 6O2) of phytoplankton and aquatic plants. The smaller the depth of water
column the more light plants have from the sun increasing photosynthesis thus the
amount of dissolved oxygen. Photosynthesis is the process of using carbon dioxide,
H¬2¬O and light energy to produce glucose and oxygen. The oxygen and
glucose created are then used by the plants and animals for respiration
(C6H12O6+6O2 6CO2+6H20+36ATP). Glucose and oxygen from photosynthesis is
used to create energy (ATP) for the plant while the carbon dioxide and H¬2¬O
are by product. The amount of dissolved oxygen (DO) produced by photosynthesis
vary greatly on time of day. At daytime photosynthesis creates a large amount of
oxygen while at night time photosynthesis cannot occur due to lack of light energy.
Therefore, dissolved oxygen levels are measured in saturation (%) rather than mg/l.
Mg/l will vary from time to time however saturation is calculated as the percentage of
dissolved O2 concentration relative to that when completely saturated at the
temperature of the
Argumentative Essay About Monsters
Monsters. They appear in nightmares, under beds, and in the distance lurking around.
This is how the world perceives monsters, but according to Webster dictionary it s a
powerful person or thing that cannot be controlled and that causes many problems.
There are constant encounters with them every day because they make up who

it s easier to see some more than others. Every monster has malicious ways even if it s
not intentional, it s humanreaction, from little behaviors to extreme ones.
Some might feel like monsters were put here to destroy and tear humanity down, and

Loch Ness Monster Essay
Existence of a monster in Loch Ness is debated among scientists and enthusiasts.
Using sonar and tracking devices, no bona fide proof that the Loch Ness monster
exists has been produced. However, hearsay and folklore have grasped the attention
of some parties. For over 1,500 years, there has been a lack of significant evidence of
the Loch Ness Monster.
In the depths of Loch Ness, Great Britain s largest body of freshwater, the
unidentified creature, affectionately known as Nessie , is believed to take

example, the temperature of the water should be cold enough to freeze over, but it
never does (Berke 21). Only twenty miles away, snow falls occur often on the ...

Richard Forrest, a plesiosaurus expert, had stated I haven t heard of any sightings
that sound anything like a plesiosaur, (Owen). He continued, People usually refer
to a series of undulating humps. The plesiosaur, being a reptile, wouldn t undulate
but move from side to side. Such sightings are much more likely to come from
mammals such as a row of otters swimming across the loch (Owen). The size of a
prehistoric plesiosaur is approximately 11 meters in length (Owen). But according
to tourists, the size of the Loch Ness monster can range from size of a cow to 9
meters in length (Abels 23). The difference in size between the two creatures has
caused a huge discrepancy. Many photographs of what is believed to have been the
Loch Ness monster are always very blurry, gray and grainy with many dark
shadows hiding the object that was photographed. It is hard for scientists, experts
and critics to identify the object of what is allegedly in the photographs. The British

made by animals as big as the monster were found. The team had hoped to use the air

like there was a big discrimination for being a sportspersons to compete in a

where male competition put apart from the female competition. The writer argued

homosexuality within the society. Yet, it does not mean the challenge was over
because there are no guarantee that bullying behavior will stop, people still get away
with bullying attitude over time and context. Writer interestingly addressed the
reason why queer bullying was prevalent through the history by investigating its
possible origin, the gender norms, the dichotomy roles of the media, the distressing
reality about it, and the heteronormative atmosphere that bounding it. The writer
noted that along the history there was a belief that homosexuality deemed as a form
of deviant and unnatural behavior over some cultures, context and time and even in
some cases they were punished to death due to this conservative beliefs. Some
typical perception of boys within the society by assuming heterosexual as the
normal and right thing to get alone with particularly bringing about queer bullying.
Boys perception functions through as if a boy lack of masculinity in the society,
they then would be judged as queer or homo . To some extent, this particular
conformity became a foundation for queer bullying. Moreover, the media also
played out two integral rules which are in one side continue to intensify negative
attitude against queer people by made queer not only tolerated but it is also
normalized and in the other hand, it reframed and disseminated positive paces made

organization members to build an ethically sound environment (Leader to Leader,

ARC to Congress I would need to clarify, and revise the ARC s internal policies
regarding fund raising related to specific disasters. Internally, I would look to create

Without providing sufficient access to information about checks and balances in
decision making processes, the organization can easily fall from an environment
of trust to one of cynicism ( Leader to Leader, 2008, p. 37). Another important area
where the independent ombudsman who represents the ARC to Congress should
focus is on people who are volunteering for different events. In my opinion a
background check it would be necessary to avoid the past issues regarding thefts or
missing items that were designated for individuals in need. In the 2007, National
Nonprofit Ethics Survey, showed that more than half of employees had noticed at
least one act of misconduct in the previous year. Close to 40 % of nonprofit
employees who observed an unethical behavior have failed to report it, simply
because they were convinced that reporting would not lead to corrective action or
they were afraid of retaliation from management or colleagues ( Rhode Packel
2009). Clark ( 2012) suggested that Implementing a new culture, organizational
structure, or strategic plan requires leaders to engage and empower their staff to take
ownership of the process (p. 35). Improving the corporate partnerships with big
companies would be in my opinion another step that would help ARC to raise
donations and to stimulate people that are willing
How Far Do You Agree That Trotskyв

How far do you agree that Trotsky s leadership of the Red Army was responsible for
the survival of the Bolshevik government? (30 marks)
There were many factors that contributed to the survival of the Bolshevik
Government, ranging from Trotsky s leadership of the Red Army to the failings of
the Bolsheviks rivals for power. This essay shows that the main reason for the
Bolsheviks continued survival through the period was not Trotsky s great leadership
of the Red Army, but the opposition s mistakes and failings. This will be
demonstrated by analysing the key factors leading to the survival of the Bolshevik
Government: Trotsky s leadership; Lenin s leadership; The Bolsheviks geographical
advantage; and finally the Bolsheviks enemies ... Show more content on

Much of the strategy employed by Trotsky and his generals was designed to weaken
the enemies transport system so that they could not effectively organise and
coordinate troop movements. Therefore many battles took place near sections of train
track and stations, which crippled many enemy attacks and allowed the Bolsheviks to
crush each attack and then move on, rather than fighting on several fronts. This great
strategy employed by Trotsky helped the Bolshevik Government survive, and without
Trotsky and his control of the Red Army, the Bolshevik Government would most
likely not have survived.
A further factor that contributed to the survival of the Bolshevik Government was
Lenin s great leadership of the whole Bolshevik party. At first glance, it appears as
though Lenin played only a small role during the Civil War because he remained in
Moscow throughout, however, when looked at more closely it can be seen that
Lenin was a key decision maker. Lenin forced through the Treaty of Brest Litovsk
when many opposed it; he did this because he had promised peace to the public and
he needed their support to have any chance of winning the Civil War, and therefore
helping the Bolshevik Government survive.
Lenin also instigated the policy of War Communism, in which industry was
Motifs In American Beauty
American beauty is a drama comedy type film directed by Sam Mendes in
1999.The film won 5 academy awards in 1999 including that of best actor and best
director. It follows the story of the Burnham family and specifically Lester
Burnham, a middle aged American man who is facing a midlife crisis and is
falling deeper and deeper into a pit of endless depression. Because of this he has
become imprisoned by all aspects of his life. Mendes deliberately uses motifs and
camera work to illustrate this theme of imprisonment to the viewer. As Lester makes
changes in his life the theme changes from imprisonment to freedom which is
shown by Mendes deliberate use of symbolism as well as Lester s new confidence
displayed by his dialogue and posture. We also... Show more content on

These techniques all show how Lester has broken free and is now enjoying life.
Lester s confidence is best shown in the second office scene where he uses
blackmail to get his boss Brad to give him money. This dialogue shows how Lester
has changed from being shy and timid to being a strong willed individual who is
not willing to back down. Lester s confidence in this scene is also portrayed by his
posture. He shows no sign of weakness and is totally relaxed compared to brad who
is infuriated and speechless. Both these examples of confidence show how he is
no longer controlled by his boss and therefore imprisoned. Also showing the theme
of freedom is the disappearance of the prison cell and window motif. Mendes even
starts to use them on people Lester interacts with to show how Lester s freedom
impacts others. In the last scene I talked about, during Lester and Brads
conversation Brad is shown to have what looks like jail cell bars in the form of a
shadow behind him. This shows how it is now him who is powerless and
imprisoned and Lester who is free. Finally showing the theme of freedom is the
marijuana symbol. It was first introduced to Lester at his wife s work convention
by Ricky and from then on is used to illustrate how Lester starts to rebel and breaks
free. An example of this is when Lester is driving to Mr Smilies to ask for a
Using Furniture Or Adult For Support
By one year old they are beginning to crawl or shuffle, pulling or pushing on
furniture to stand and then cruise using furniture or adult for support. Sitting has
progressed to unaided and they are rolling from their front to their back. They are
beginning to be inquisitive with objects, passing them between hands, handling
them in different ways and looking for things that are hiding. Their hand to eye co
ordination improves as items are passed from hand to hand. Their first teeth may
start to appear and solid foods may start to be introduced. Between one and two
years walking will begin and toys will start to be pulled/pushed along whilst
walking. Objects will be picked up and banged together or built to make a small
tower. A preference for one hand may start to appear as they begin to hold crayons
etc when mark making on paper. They enjoy trying to feed themselves both with
finger foods and with a spoon, and will drink from a cup with both hands. Waving
goodbye becomes fun, they will begin to point to what they want and shake their
head to mean †̃noâ€TM. At 4 years boys gross motor skills tend to be
more developed when it comes to throwing and aiming, building, climbing,
pedalling etc, whereas girls fine motor skills tend to be more developed with the use
of scissors, holding a pencil to draw and colour threading small beads sewing stitches
etc. At 5 years children will have more pencil control and will begin to copy letters
and shapes, and draw people. Ball games
Analysis Of Uncle Tom s Cabin By Harriet Beecher Stowe
Harriet Beecher Stowe was an author during the 1800s and wrote Uncle Tom s
Cabin which was far ahead of its time and depicted the evils of slavery. Harriet
Beecher Stowe was born on June 14th, 1811 in Litchfield, Connecticut as the
seventh child of Lyman and Roxana Beecher. Being that she was born in the North
to extremely religious parents, she too of course was quite religious as well as an
abolitionist. Unlike most women of her time period, Harriet Beecher Stowewas
educated at a school for girls in all of the classic subjects(language, math, etc.).
Later in her life, Stowe moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where Irish riots against black
people contributed to her ideas of slavery and her abolitionist novels. One day, while
in a literary club, Stowe

Where Angels Fear to Tread, by E.M. Forster
Fools rush in where angels fear to tread, is a saying is commonly used to emphasize
how ignorance can result in decisions that lead to unfavorable situations. Likewise, in
Where Angels Fear to Tread, Edward Morgan Forster uses irony, point of view, and
satire to effectively emphasize how stereotypes, prejudices, misunderstanding of
cultural differences, and hypocrisy could lead to unfavorable circumstances. Where
Angels Fear to Treadbegins as a light and comedic novel but later develops to
become more dense and tragic.
The novel starts off in a train station in England where a widow named Lilia
Herriton prepares to leave on a trip to the fictional Italian town of Monteriano. Her
mother in law, Mrs. Herriton, and her two children, ... Show more content on

(Forster, 542)
Forster also uses satire to criticize the emphasis placed on class and cultural
differences by the Herritons and other citizens of Sawston, England. Mrs. Herriton,
after hearing of Lilia s engagement, sends Philip to break up the engagement, not
because she wanted to protect Lilia, but because she wanted to protect her own
social status which would be tarnished if Lilia were to marry an unemployed
foreigner. Forster also uses the story of the Italian saint, Santa Deodata to satirize the
behavior of the Herritons. Santa Deodata s story is shown in the following excerpt:
So holy was she that all her life she lay upon her back in the house of her mother,
refusing to eat, refusing to play, refusing to work. The devil, envious of such
sanctity, tempted her in various ways...When all proved vain, he tripped up the
mother and flung her downstairs before her very eyes. But so holy was the saint that
she never picked her mother up, but lay upon her back through all, and thus assured
her throne in Paradise. (Forster, 396)
This story of a girl who lacked concern for her mother is used to criticize the
Herritons and other English people lack love for their family and place social status
and formal convention over their own relatives.
The use of these literary devices in the novel was effective in placing emphasis on

Blocking Social Media
Governments have historically employed social stratification as a form of enforcing
discriminatory policies. For instance, the Rwandan genocide began with the
classification of citizens as Tutsi or Hutus, and evolved into a bloody civil war
based on these classifications. We may be tempted to say that such atrocities are
merely in the past, and classification is no longer used in such horrendous ways.
Perhaps, the reality is that the violence is turning from the physical world to the
internet. Recent data collected in 2016 indicates that nearly 43% of kids have
experienced cyberbullying.( 11 Facts About Cyberbullying, 2016). It may be tempting
to claim that this data has nothing to do with classification in any matter. The truth,
however,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, social media s classification schemes play a large roll in contributing to
small scale interpersonal conflicts. This is done through the weaponization of
categories in an attempt to gain unique advantages of anonymity and alienation not
found in merely physical conflicts. Designers must keep these facts in mind, and
choose to monitor or to implement special categories in an attempt to curb such
dangerous interaction. While violence perpetrated on social media is not to the
degree of that perpetrated against the people of Rwanda, any violence that can be
eliminated should be. Therefore, designers should consider how classification on
social media play an important part in
Never On A Sunday, By Companies Like Mccoy s Building...
Never on a Sunday is a case study that discusses the philosophy carried out by
companies like McCoy s Building Supply and Chick Fil A. Both of these
organizations are perfect examples of Organizational or Corporate culture defined as
a system of shared actions, values, and beliefs that develop within an organization
that guides the behavior of its members (Schermerhom, Osborn, Uhl bien, Hunt,
2012, p. 348). At McCoy s for example Managers are asked to concentrate on service
related issues Managers focus more on the items in store and customer service and the
majority of their administrative workload is handled through headquarters
(Schermerhom, Osborn, Uhl bien, Hunt, 2012, p. 353). Working as a manager myself
that really sounds like a great method of management. There are many times where
my boss and the rest of the management team where I work struggles. Keeping up
with all the administrative duties and the store at the same time can be really trying
and is a never ending workload. This makes neither one of them get the attention they
require and more often than not we find ourselves trying to do just enough
administrative work and just enough floor work to get through the day. Additionally,
the management teams meet regularly to discuss products and other important
aspects that impact the stores. Sometimes in my line of work we wish that we had
the opportunity to meet and discuss new ideas and products that could improve our
stores.

Features Of Space Expansion
Feature Space Expansion
Firstly the feature space would be increased in dimension, by the addition of new
features. Due to the analysis done on feature production, it was noted that by
generalising feature production and consumption (in the neural network), a lot of
time could be saved in the long run. This meant when the feature space was to be
expanded, it would be important to create the feature production in a scalable manner.
Neural Network Expansion
Secondly, the neural network would be extended from a simple input output neural
network to one with a variable number of inputs, layers, and hidden neurons. The
addition of more layers would allow more complex planes to partition the feature
space as sometimes simple planes cannot adequately classify data. For example,
consider the classification of a data set similar to the output of a XOR gate.
Consider four input data points of (0, 0), (0, 1), (1, 0), and (1, 1), with respective
outputs 0,1,1,0, where 1 represents positive classification, and 0 represents negative
classification. This provides an example of a classification which has very high error
when classified without a hidden layer. This is because a linear combination of the
input coefficients can only define a partition which is a straight line.
Any linear partition of these inputs can at most correctly classify three of four data
points. This is because the data points are linearly inseparable. However, with a more
complex neural network, such as one

The environment we found ourselves in was ever changing and required all
employees to be flexible and work co operatively. It was particularly important in my
role as Team Leader to understand and demonstrate the linkages between the
Departments work areas and incorporate them into our planning and decision making.
This was most evident in the new Integrity Policy Framework that related directly
with my Division and the greater agency. During the initial stages of this policy
taking effect it was integral my team and the greater Employment Suitability team
understood our role in implementing the policy. I utilised my team members expertise
in their ability to effectively communicate to stakeholders the new requirements,
including the new Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC), which is designed to
provide assurance to the community that there is minimal risks associated with
individuals or their circumstances which may cast doubt on their ability to support
the agency and maintaining the Departments commitment to integrity and security
of Australia s borders. The new policy also stipulated that anyone working for the
Department had to hold a minimum Baseline level security clearance. This was a
huge change for my team as it meant that more then 7000 clearances needed to be
initiated. With a small team and such a large body of work to complete, it was
integral for me to ensure I was providing regular updates to my managers and my
team as to the current workload and expected timeframes of completion. This allowed
for all team members to be across what was expected of us and to provide reportable
data to the Executives. By maintaining open communication channels with my team
and managers we were able to efficiently initiate the required clearances whilst
maintaining a high level of attention to detail and excellent customer

The Consequences Of John Locke And The Death Penalty
Every individual has the right to life. We are granted an intrinsic value from birth,
that cannot be taken away at any costs. People who claim that the death penalty will
protect our nation s citizens fail to recognize the true facts. The institution of this
horrid consequence would ruin the values that we have in our American society. The
death penalty does not make any further improvements to the crimerates of our
country. Additionally, we are seeing that the use of the death penalty has
dramatically decreased since 1999 ( What s New ). What does this show? People are
beginning to realize that the death penalty lacks any worth and promotes unethical
ideals. To permit the use of murderon someone who is a criminal destroys who they
are as a human. We all are entitled to life itself, because we are naturally granted it
when we come into existence. As Libertarians believe, specifically John Locke, we
all have the right to life, liberty, and property. We do not have the right to take away
these things from others, just as no one has the right to strip us of them either. These
same principles are found in our own Declaration of Independence, because it claims
that we have the right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. The government
has the responsibility to protect these unalienable rights that we were granted from
birth.
There is the notion that the death penalty will steer people away from committing
crimes. In a report by the National Research Council,

This was cooperative because now we can treat phobias, such as heights, crowding,

How People Perceive Differently
Many people perceive thoughts differently because they all have different view of
the world. After reading the text, Communications in a Changing World, I learned
how people can interpret things differently. There are steps of perception everyone
goes through which includes interpretation, selection, and organization. As I showed
a picture to three different people, they all had different words that described the
picture and this explains how people perceive thoughts differently. Everyone in life
has different views of the world because of their experiences and beliefs. People
went through many obstacles in life which alters their belief system. Once their
belief system has been constructed, they are in a habitual cycle which makes... Show

However, Jimmy did not use any words that were stereotypical. He only used
words that described the person s actions. By this analysis, people perceive
differently by the way they operate their views and belief system. People tend to
cooperate by approximately determining their belief system and that is how they
feel comfortable as the author states, we often put ourselves in familiar situations,
see the same patterns, and focus on the same senses in ways that are predictable
and comfortable (Dobkins, pg.73). People may perceive differently by how they
feel at the exact moment of time. When shown the picture if the person is at a
negative state, they will look for negative words. When the person is in an excited or
happy state of mind, they will look for words that are more positive. Although media
repetition may alter one s mind about views of different nationalities, a person s
state can distract how they analyze things of this world. For example, a person in a
good state may present happier motives and bring excitement and joyful emotions to
the table. However, a person with a negative state of mind may extract bad energy
that may bring people around them down. A person s state may alter how they
perceive things differently. Jimmy and John may have used more positive words
because they may be in a positive state of mind at the moment. However, David may
have been in a negative state of mind at the moment he

vegetarian was Pythagoras. Pythagoras was a philosopher whom educated much of
the world on his ideas in life, one at the time being the abstinence of meat. Pythagoras,
along with many of his followers, believed that the consumption of meatcould affect
the longevity of one s life. Though not everyone believed in Pythagoras opinions,
he still had a loyal group of followers. Pythagoras was so widely associated with a
meat free diet that the terms vegetarian was not even in use until 1847, when the
term pythagorean was changed to vegetarian (Avey). Today, there are 16 million
people in America who follow a vegetarian based or vegan diet (Watters). There is
a common misconception that the choice to become a vegetarian is based only on a
person s love for animals, but there are many other benefits to being a vegetarian.
Pythagoras and his followers gave many of the same arguments that people who
abstain from meat today support; for example, Pythagoras had the belief that there
was a majority of added health benefits from a meatless diet (Avey). Vegetarianism
can decrease the risk of cancer along with other health concerns, can solve problems
the world presently faces, such as world hunger and animal cruelty and can have
positive effects on the environment such as pollution reduction and overgrazing
reduction. People need to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle because it will improve public
Black Hills Expedition Of 1874 Essay
The Black Hills Expedition of 1874:
How did the Black Hills Expedition of 1874 influence the development of the Black
Hills?
Many places not only in South Dakota, but around the world are affected by the
events of Custer and his company. George Armstrong Custer became well known
because of his 1874 expedition, when he discovered gold. The discovery of gold in
the Black Hills affected the United States and the world for over the next 100 years
after his discovery. Homestake Mine in Lead, South Dakota mined 43.9 million
ounces of gold and 9.78 million ounces of silver that has been used throughout the
world (Homestake Mine, Wikipedia). They shut down in 2001 due to low gold prices.

They outnumbered Custer s armies by a ratio of 9 to 1. The battle was soon over
and all but one of Custer s soldiers died, including Custer. They were expected to be
back from their expedition on August 30th, but would be many months before people
figured out what happened. The battle would later be known as the Battle of the
Little Bighorn.(The Battle of the Little Bighorn, Wikipedia)
The Homestake Mine founded by Fred and Moses Manuel, Alex Engh and Hank
Harney started bringing many workers and families. It operated for about 47 years
bringing people and their families to settle.(Homestake Mine, Wikipedia) Towns
were going up and the Black Hills were thriving. Lead Deadwood was a boom town
and is now a tourist s site. Sanford Lab was created on the old site of Homestake
Mine. Here they have found out things that have never been discovered before. The
Black Hills itself rely on the tourists for its economy to function. For all of this, we
owe our thanks to George Armstrong Custer and the Black Hills Expedition of 1874.
Without Custer and his discovery of gold in the Black Hills, the Hills would
probably be just a small town in the middle of nowhere and overlooked by everyone.
Now the Black Hills and the area around it are a major attraction from around
America.

The Anzac s Attack On Gallipoli
On the 25th of April 1915, the Anzac soldiers were involved in an attack on Gallipoli.
Although, the minor campaign turned out to be a costly failure, the event made a
huge impact on the Australian soldiers and women. The attack also contributed
greatly to the development of the Anzac Legend as the Australian men presented their
true Aussie culture to the world. The Australian soldiers faced extremely tough
conditions during their attack on Gallipoli. They were in constant danger, always
exposed to enemy fire whilst the Turks held high ground. They fought with lethal
weapons and were required to wear gas masks during battle with the constant fear of
poisonous gas. The soldiers physical conditions deteriorated rapidly throughout the
campaign. The stinking hot weather, unsanitary conditions and... Show more content

Most of the women full heartedly encouraged the men to enlist. They put great
pressure on the men, refusing to converse with those men who didn t go. An image
of these strong Australian women was often used on enlistment advertisements
because they supposedly portrayed an image of being helpless and vulnerable
victims in need of soldiers to protect them from the evil Germans . On the home
front, women were trained for men s jobs so that more men could enlist. These
women were eager to comply as these traditionally male jobs received higher pay.
Many women also frequently volunteered to help the soldiers at war. They sewed
and knitted warm clothes for the men and raised money to help those affected by the
war. Although, they worried for their friends and families that were fighting in
Gallipoli, they were proud of their brave efforts. Some women also served in the
war, generally as nurses. Their lives changed enormously as they dealt with their
injured men. They saw absolutely horrible sights but their position in the war was
vital to the survival of the Australian

  • 3. Environmental Factors And Environmental Challenges In Ghana Environmental factors: Climate change is a major health threat and affects many people around the world. The climate today is changing rapidly and this can be a threat to the livelihood and well being of the Ghanaian population. Ghana is identified as being highly vulnerable to climate change as it plays a significant role in the sanitationsystem. Climate change is one of the most significant challenges for the 21st century and poses risks to sanitation and water services. 20 As water and climate change are linked to each other, the effects of climate change are first felt through water then through droughts, floods and storms.21 There are three major physical impacts of climate change in Ghana, which includes temperature change, change in rainfall and sea level rise.22 These three physical impacts can destroy water supplies and toilets, which plays a factor on human health. Ghana continues to struggle with poor access to clean water and sanitation systems are either non existent or weak.23 Five million Ghanaians still use contaminated water from unsafe sources.8 Many countries at higher risk of droughts and floods usually have low levels of access to water, putting the sanitation systems at risk. By 2030, it has been expected that more than 118 million people will be exposed to drought, floods, and extreme heat in Africa.23 This means countries like Ghana will continue to struggle with poor sanitation. Sanitation concerns would include damage and loss of services from these natural disasters and reduced carrying capacity of the waters. 20 Droughts would lead to insufficient water resources that are able to flush sewage systems adequately and the results of higher temperature can have an impact on how sewage systems operate. Oprah Winfrey moved many people and changed how some people live: she affected people s life in a good way. She had a rough life early on, but people see who she became and how great she actually is. Oprah Winfrey changed society because of her motivational attitude on the Oprah Winfrey Show. It s almost showtime at the Rosemont horizon. One of Chicago s most cavernous arenas is filled to the brim for a Lionel Richie concert. Suddenly an agitated murmur echoes through the hall (Most Talked about tv host 5). A star has been spotted amidst the Richie worshippers. As word of the celebrity sighting spreads, the crowds murmur swells to a loud rhythmic chant, OPRAH! OPRAH! OPRAH! Finally Oprah Winfrey is coaxed into hopping onto a chair. She waved vigorously and crowd erupts into a minute long ovation. Oprah Winfrey has indeed arrived. For some people holding the same position in their career for a long time signifies success. In television however, it is necessary to move on to bigger and better things. With all of her experience and success so far, she began to dream bigger. She wanted to host a show by herself but where? She felt cared for and natural in Baltimore where she grew up, but it was time to move on. Despite the advice of co workers Oprah accepted a job as host of A.M Chicago with a $200,000 a year salary and a 4 year unbreakable contract. Everybody kept telling me that it was going to be impossible to succeed because I was going into Phil Donahue s hometown. She moved to Chicago in December of 1983. There is a dull and unsettling truth behind the innocent demonstration of young ladies acting much more mature than their age. The Naturalization Act extended the time immigrants had to live in the United States from 5 years to 14 years to become American citizens. The Alien Enemies Act stated that once war was declared all male citizens of any enemy nation could be arrested, detained, and deported. The Alien Friends Act gave the president authority to deport any immigrant suspected of plotting against the government during wartime or even peacetime. The Role Of Climate Change In Canada Climate change has become the most serious global environmental threat with sides of people who do not believe it exists and people who are actually aware. The release of greenhouse gases such as carbon and methane into the atmosphere has been known to be one of the major causes of climate change. Scientists explain that these emissions must drastically reduce to avoid a 2В°C rise in average global temperature. Therefore different countries have made policies and ways to reduce the production of these gases and Canada is one of them. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Electricity generation is Canada s fourth largest source of greenhouse gas. When it comes to controlling the emission that comes from electricity generation; most provinces in Canada are already opting out of the coal phase to provide cleaner energy. The burning of firewood to create energy releases CO2 into the atmosphere thereby introducing more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.therefore introducing approaches to electricity such as increasing the amount of electricity generated from renewable sources; connecting clean power with places that need it and modernising electrical system could bring Canada to its goal by at least 5% to 15%. New rules that help to control emissions from an electrical sector that is burning natural gases should also be implemented. the government Could also control greenhouse gas emission by mandating the carbon pricing policy. Carbon pricing charges industries and corporations that emit CO2 for their emissions. This limits their emissions by instituting a price charge and encourage companies and consumers from burning fossil fuel and find alternative ways that are efficient for their business. Carbon pricing has been known to be the best tool in reducing greenhouse gas emissions since most of the gases released into the atmosphere are carbon. Carbon pricing helps to fight climate change and it provides job opportunity in creating clean energy. the growing population is also a discussable topic in climate change that could be really hard to control due to the fact that as the population increases; the demand for products that release this toxic gases would also increase. The government could control this by finding alternative ways to produce these commodities without introducing so much carbon or methane into the

However, despite Paul s efforts, the money he selflessly earns for his mothercan never buy her love. This only incentivizes Paul to work harder, which in turn drives him mad and leads to his own downfall. Oxygen will diffuse in the less oxygenated water due to the concentration gradient. Another way oxygen can get into the water is by photosynthesis (6CO2 + 6H2O C6H12O6 + 6O2) of phytoplankton and aquatic plants. The smaller the depth of water column the more light plants have from the sun increasing photosynthesis thus the amount of dissolved oxygen. Photosynthesis is the process of using carbon dioxide, H¬2¬O and light energy to produce glucose and oxygen. The oxygen and glucose created are then used by the plants and animals for respiration (C6H12O6+6O2 6CO2+6H20+36ATP). Glucose and oxygen from photosynthesis is used to create energy (ATP) for the plant while the carbon dioxide and H¬2¬O are by product. The amount of dissolved oxygen (DO) produced by photosynthesis vary greatly on time of day. At daytime photosynthesis creates a large amount of oxygen while at night time photosynthesis cannot occur due to lack of light energy. Therefore, dissolved oxygen levels are measured in saturation (%) rather than mg/l. Mg/l will vary from time to time however saturation is calculated as the percentage of dissolved O2 concentration relative to that when completely saturated at the temperature of the

Analysis Of Uncle Tom s Cabin By Harriet Beecher Stowe Harriet Beecher Stowe was an author during the 1800s and wrote Uncle Tom s Cabin which was far ahead of its time and depicted the evils of slavery. Harriet Beecher Stowe was born on June 14th, 1811 in Litchfield, Connecticut as the seventh child of Lyman and Roxana Beecher. Being that she was born in the North to extremely religious parents, she too of course was quite religious as well as an abolitionist. Unlike most women of her time period, Harriet Beecher Stowewas educated at a school for girls in all of the classic subjects(language, math, etc.). Later in her life, Stowe moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where Irish riots against black people contributed to her ideas of slavery and her abolitionist novels. One day, while in a literary club, Stowe

Forster Fools rush in where angels fear to tread, is a saying is commonly used to emphasize how ignorance can result in decisions that lead to unfavorable situations. Likewise, in Where Angels Fear to Tread, Edward Morgan Forster uses irony, point of view, and satire to effectively emphasize how stereotypes, prejudices, misunderstanding of cultural differences, and hypocrisy could lead to unfavorable circumstances. Where Angels Fear to Treadbegins as a light and comedic novel but later develops to become more dense and tragic. The novel starts off in a train station in England where a widow named Lilia Herriton prepares to leave on a trip to the fictional Italian town of Monteriano. Her mother in law, Mrs. Herriton, and her two children, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Forster, 542) Forster also uses satire to criticize the emphasis placed on class and cultural differences by the Herritons and other citizens of Sawston, England. Mrs. Herriton, after hearing of Lilia s engagement, sends Philip to break up the engagement, not because she wanted to protect Lilia, but because she wanted to protect her own social status which would be tarnished if Lilia were to marry an unemployed foreigner. Forster also uses the story of the Italian saint, Santa Deodata to satirize the behavior of the Herritons. Santa Deodata s story is shown in the following excerpt: So holy was she that all her life she lay upon her back in the house of her mother, refusing to eat, refusing to play, refusing to work. The devil, envious of such sanctity, tempted her in various ways...When all proved vain, he tripped up the mother and flung her downstairs before her very eyes. But so holy was the saint that she never picked her mother up, but lay upon her back through all, and thus assured her throne in Paradise. (Forster, 396) This story of a girl who lacked concern for her mother is used to criticize the Herritons and other English people lack love for their family and place social status and formal convention over their own relatives. The use of these literary devices in the novel was effective in placing emphasis on the key
  • 28. Blocking Social Media Governments have historically employed social stratification as a form of enforcing discriminatory policies. For instance, the Rwandan genocide began with the classification of citizens as Tutsi or Hutus, and evolved into a bloody civil war based on these classifications. We may be tempted to say that such atrocities are merely in the past, and classification is no longer used in such horrendous ways. Perhaps, the reality is that the violence is turning from the physical world to the internet. Recent data collected in 2016 indicates that nearly 43% of kids have experienced cyberbullying.( 11 Facts About Cyberbullying, 2016). It may be tempting to claim that this data has nothing to do with classification in any matter. The truth, however,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, social media s classification schemes play a large roll in contributing to small scale interpersonal conflicts. This is done through the weaponization of categories in an attempt to gain unique advantages of anonymity and alienation not found in merely physical conflicts. Designers must keep these facts in mind, and choose to monitor or to implement special categories in an attempt to curb such dangerous interaction. While violence perpetrated on social media is not to the degree of that perpetrated against the people of Rwanda, any violence that can be eliminated should be. Therefore, designers should consider how classification on social media play an important part in

Both of these organizations are perfect examples of Organizational or Corporate culture defined as a system of shared actions, values, and beliefs that develop within an organization that guides the behavior of its members (Schermerhom, Osborn, Uhl bien, Hunt, 2012, p. 348). At McCoy s for example Managers are asked to concentrate on service related issues Managers focus more on the items in store and customer service and the majority of their administrative workload is handled through headquarters (Schermerhom, Osborn, Uhl bien, Hunt, 2012, p. 353). Working as a manager myself that really sounds like a great method of management. There are many times where my boss and the rest of the management team where I work struggles. Keeping up with all the administrative duties and the store at the same time can be really trying and is a never ending workload. This makes neither one of them get the attention they require and more often than not we find ourselves trying to do just enough administrative work and just enough floor work to get through the day. Additionally, the management teams meet regularly to discuss products and other important aspects that impact the stores. Sometimes in my line of work we wish that we had the opportunity to meet and discuss new ideas and products that could improve our stores. In reading the Never on Sunday
  • 30. Features Of Space Expansion Feature Space Expansion Firstly the feature space would be increased in dimension, by the addition of new features. Due to the analysis done on feature production, it was noted that by generalising feature production and consumption (in the neural network), a lot of time could be saved in the long run. This meant when the feature space was to be expanded, it would be important to create the feature production in a scalable manner. Neural Network Expansion Secondly, the neural network would be extended from a simple input output neural network to one with a variable number of inputs, layers, and hidden neurons. The addition of more layers would allow more complex planes to partition the feature space as sometimes simple planes cannot adequately classify data. For example, consider the classification of a data set similar to the output of a XOR gate. Consider four input data points of (0, 0), (0, 1), (1, 0), and (1, 1), with respective outputs 0,1,1,0, where 1 represents positive classification, and 0 represents negative classification. This provides an example of a classification which has very high error when classified without a hidden layer. This is because a linear combination of the input coefficients can only define a partition which is a straight line. Any linear partition of these inputs can at most correctly classify three of four data points. This is because the data points are linearly inseparable. However, with a more complex neural network, such as one with

People who claim that the death penalty will protect our nation s citizens fail to recognize the true facts. Additionally, we are seeing that the use of the death penalty has dramatically decreased since 1999 ( What s New ). What does this show? People are beginning to realize that the death penalty lacks any worth and promotes unethical ideals. To permit the use of murderon someone who is a criminal destroys who they are as a human. We all are entitled to life itself, because we are naturally granted it when we come into existence. As Libertarians believe, specifically John Locke, we all have the right to life, liberty, and property. We do not have the right to take away these things from others, just as no one has the right to strip us of them either. These same principles are found in our own Declaration of Independence, because it claims that we have the right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. The government has the responsibility to protect these unalienable rights that we were granted from birth. There is the notion that the death penalty will steer people away from committing crimes. Pythagoras was a philosopher whom educated much of the world on his ideas in life, one at the time being the abstinence of meat. Pythagoras, along with many of his followers, believed that the consumption of meatcould affect the longevity of one s life.
