1) Contact methods detect contact between a sensing device and a part or object in a process to identify errors. For example, contact limit switches can identify if a cylinder is missing. 2) Counting methods use sensors to count the number of times a part is used or a process is completed and only release the part when the correct count is reached. 3) Motion-sequence methods use sequencing to help operators select the right parts for each step of a process through indicators.
