Pohatu Routines and Expectations
Morning routines
•  shoe racks
•  drink bottles (water only)
•  lunch box & baskets
•  book bag, diary and reading books etc are
   put in the correct place
•  hang bag, sunhat, vest and jacket in the
   cupboard
•  find something quiet and sensible to do, or
   go back outside to play until the bell goes!
   Please note: children must wait for the
   8.30 bell to go before they are allowed into
   their classroom

Afternoon routines
•  put classroom and school equipment back
   where it came from
•  gather all belongings, diary, book bag, drink
   bottle etc and place in bag
•  put vest and hat on to wear home

General routines:
•  walking around the school, asking for help
Parent Procedures
  •  please wait outside the da Vinci space at the
     end of the day, we will release your child when
     we see you through the window

  •  if you need to pick your child up early, please
     see Aynslee first in the office and she will
     give you a sign out form, which you then need
     to show to the classroom teacher

  •  if you are bringing your child to school late,
     please sign them in at the office and bring a
     red ‘late card’ down to the classroom

  •  if your child is sick, also please ring and leave
     a message with the office

Mathematics and Statistics
Numeracy
•  all students are grouped according to
   knowledge and strategies
•  whole class begins together with a hotspot
   activity
•  groups rotate around the following learning
   experiences:
   *Teacher               *Practise
   *Mathletics
   *Knowledge             *Maths Games
•  Conclusion of the lesson involves sharing
   learning and reflection

   end of this term
Literacy
          Writing - to, with and by!                       Reading - to, with and by!

Shared writing: teacher and students work        Shared reading: to model reading strategies,
