Root canal treated teeth are more prone to fracture due to changes that occur during treatment like loss of tooth structure and changes to dentin collagen fibers. Posts are often used to restore these teeth and can be classified by their retention, composition, or shape. Fiber posts made of materials like carbon, silica or glass fibers have properties similar to dentin and improve stress distribution compared to metal posts. Bonding fiber posts requires an adhesive system and resin cement, but the root canal environment poses challenges to achieving optimal bonding due to factors like the dentin substrate, smear layer, chemicals used in treatment, and limited light penetration. Careful cleaning, selection of sealers, and final irrigation can help improve bond strength.
This document discusses the classification, diagnosis, and treatment of condylar fractures of the mandible. It describes three mechanisms of injury and four clinical types of fractures. Treatment approaches include conservative/functional management or open reduction surgery, with indications for each. Diagnostic tools include radiography and CT scans to determine fracture pattern and guide treatment planning. Both closed and open reduction techniques are discussed, along with advantages and potential complications of each approach. A retrospective study of 435 mandibular fractures found that undisplaced condylar fractures often are treated conservatively, while displaced or dislocated fractures sometimes require open reduction surgery.
Mandibular fractures have been documented since ancient Greece. Hippocrates described reducing displaced but incomplete mandibular fractures by pressing on the lingual surface with fingers while applying counterpressure externally. The Edwin Smith Treatise also described examining for mandibular fractures by feeling for crepitus under the fingers. Mandibular fractures typically involve the body, angle, condyle, symphysis, or ramus. Physical exam may reveal changes in occlusion, inability to open or close the mouth, anesthesia of the lower lip, or trismus. Diagnosis is made by identifying these physical exam findings along with the patient's mechanism of injury.
Fixed prosthodontics problems and solutions in dentistryPrivate Office
This document discusses common problems that can occur with dental impressions and stone models, and their potential causes and solutions. It describes issues such as voids, tears or pulls in impressions that could result in poor fitting restorations. Specific problems covered include inhibited or slow setting impressions, lack of detail, voids or tears at margins, facial-lingual pulls, tray-tooth contact, delamination, poor bonding to trays, and discrepancies in stone models. For each problem, potential causes such as expiration, contamination, inadequate technique, or material incompatibility are identified along with recommended solutions.
Success in Endodontics was originally based on the triad of debridement, thorough disinfection and obturation with all the aspects equally important.
At present, successful root canal treatment is based on broader principles, these includes
Diagnosis and treatment planning
Knowledge of anatomy and morphology
Concepts of thorough debridement
Obturation of the root canal space
Finally the coronal seal / restoration.
A meta- analysis of factors influencing the root canal treatment found that the following four factors influenced success:
Absence of pre-treatment periapical lesion / Co-existing pathology
Root canal fillings with minimal or no voids
Obturation to within 2.0mm / or as close as possible to the radiographic apex
An adequate coronal restoration.

The document discusses the anatomy and treatment of condylar fractures of the mandible. It describes the anatomy of the condyle and temporomandibular joint. Various types of condylar fractures are defined, including simple, displaced, comminuted, and pathological fractures. Treatment approaches include closed or open reduction, and fixation methods like plating, wiring, and screws. Post-treatment care involves jaw immobilization, exercises to regain motion, and monitoring for complications like malunion, nerve injury, or joint dysfunction.
Dental implants can replace missing teeth and preserve jawbone structure. Implants integrate securely with jawbone, providing stability, function, and aesthetics like natural teeth. Without tooth roots, jawbone deteriorates over time. Tooth loss impacts confidence and function by allowing other teeth to shift out of place. Dental implants are the best solution to replace missing teeth and prevent bone loss long term. The document outlines implant treatment procedures and shows examples of implant-supported restorations.

Private Medical Colleges with Low Fee Structure
In the pursuit of medical education, aspiring students encounter a myriad of considerations, with the cost of training emerging as a pivotal factor. Following the rigorous competition and the outcomes of the NEET exam, the ranking of medical colleges takes precedence in decision-making.
However, for those who find themselves with lower NEET ranks, gaining admission to a government medical or dental college becomes a formidable challenge.
As a consequence, many candidates turn to private institutions, willing to pay higher tuition fees to secure their place in the field of medicine. For these individuals, the search for private medical colleges with more affordable fee structures becomes imperative.
This article serves as a valuable resource for such students, offering a comprehensive list of private medical schools with budget-friendly fee structures. We understand that while the pursuit of a medical degree is a noble and passionate endeavor, the financial aspects should not become overwhelming.
Therefore, we have diligently compiled information on medical colleges that provide more accessible options, recognizing the importance of affordable medical education in shaping the future of aspiring healthcare professionals.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
