Composition
of
plastic The word plastic is derives from the Greek word plastikos
meaning
“Capable of being shaped or molded” we can give any shape to
the plastic according to our requirement.
Now today in this modern civilization plastics became a
essential substance in our daily life like our food.
The main reason of huge uses oaf plastics –it is Versatile,
lightweight, waterproof, durable, and most of all, inexpensive.
These attractive qualities of plastic have led us to use the
material in virtually every form and way we can.
the micro-beads in the facial foam we use to wash our faces
every morning, to the water bottle and disposable utensils we
eat and drink out of, plastic has become an ubiquitous and
almost indispensable part of our lives.
It was difficult to thought spend a day without using plastic.

The plastic is an organic substance and it consists of natural or
synthetic binders or resins with or without moulding compounds.
In general, it may be stated that the plastics are compounds of carbon
with other elements such as hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen.
Plastic are mainly produced in polymerization procedure .In this
process uses chemicals are :
Polyethylene, Polypropylene,
Polystyrene ,Polyester
, Polyamies, Polycarbonate etc.

pollution
In nature, there is no waste that does not decompose.
Humans, however, have invented plastic which will always be
‘unnatural’ in the environment because of its properties. Making
plastic is inexpensive and the applications of the material are endless.
Because plastic is so widely used, it almost always ends up in the
environment, causing more plastic pollution. And not just because
someone leaves a piece of plastic on the street instead of putting it in
a waste bin.

pollution
The main cause of plastic is single use plastic. Of all the plastic
we use, 40% is used just once. Every year we use several billion
items such as bags, bottles, trays, and food packaging.
Supermarkets are full of it. Some people are careless with
packaging and leave it behind as litter. But there are also places
where people can’t do otherwise because there is no waste
collection system. It is without a doubt that even if most people
do their best, much of that single-use plastic enters the
environment, being one of the biggest cause of plastic pollution.

Pollution
It seems rather obvious that this amount of a material that isn’t
meant to break down can wreak havoc on natural environments,
leading to long-term issues for plants, animals, and people. Some of
the major long-term effects of plastic pollution are:
1. It Upsets the Food Chain Chain
Because it comes in sizes large and small, polluting plastic even
affect the world’s tiniest organisms such as plankton. When these
organisms become poisoned due to plastic ingestion, this causes
problem for the larger animals that depend on them for food.
This can cause a whole slew of problems, each step further along
the food chain. Plus, it means that plastic is present in the fish that
many people eat every day.

2. Groundwater Pollution by plastic
Water conservation is already a concern in places ranging
from California to parts of India, but the world’s water is in
great danger because of leaking plastics and waste. If
you’ve ever seen a garbage dump, imagine what happens
every time it rains – then imagine that being in your drinking
water.Groundwater and reservoirs are susceptible to leaking
environmental toxins.
Most of the litter and pollution affecting the world’s oceans
also derives from plastics. This has had terrible
consequences on many marine species, which can lead to
consequences for those that eat fish and marine life for
nutrients – including people.
