The Patna Nagar Nigam launched the "Plastic Lao Thaila Pao Campaign 2019" from December 31, 2019 to January 4, 2020 to promote plastic waste recycling and proper disposal. The campaign set up a stall at Kangan Ghat where the public could bring pieces of discarded plastic to exchange for cloth bags. So far, the campaign has collected 55 kg of plastic waste, saving 137 kg of carbon emissions. Over 10,000 citizens have been engaged through pledges and discussions on properly disposing of plastic waste.

I. Introduction
Patna Nagar Nigam (PMC ) in partnership with UNDP India under the Hindustan Coca Cola – UNDP
Plastic Waste Management recycling project had kickstarted the “Plastic Lao Thaila Pao Campaign
2019” on 31st
December, 2019 for promotion of plastic waste recycling and responsible plastic waste
disposal.
This campaign entailed setting up a campaign stall placed at Kangan Ghat during the Guruparva
wherein the public is engaged to bring pieces of discarded plastic and exchange the same for cloth
bags.
The campaign was initiated by PMC - UNDP in Kangan Ghat, Patna City on 31st
December, and
inaugurated by Executive Officer , Patna City Municipal Corporation & visited by Mr Amit Kumar
Pandey , IAS, Commissioner Patna Municipal corporation & other GoB officials .
