This document discusses photosynthesis in plants. It describes that photosynthesis occurs in chloroplasts in plant leaves. The chloroplast contains thylakoids that are stacked to form grana. Photosynthesis has two parts - the light reaction which occurs in the grana and converts light energy to chemical energy in ATP, and the dark reaction which occurs in the chloroplast stroma and uses the energy from the light reaction to combine carbon from CO2 with hydrogen from water to form glucose. The overall equation for photosynthesis is provided.
