Photography involves using a camera lens to take pictures, which are also known as photo images. A lens is used to focus light onto the camera's light-sensitive surface during exposure to create a digital image file. The photography and photo imaging industry workforce in the UK comprises around 43,100 people, mostly concentrated in London and the South East of England. The industry consists of 8,700 companies, most of which are sole traders or freelance photographers. Digital technology has significantly impacted the photography industry. It has improved photo quality, made cameras more accessible, and allowed for easier photo sharing. These changes have created more jobs and opportunities within the industry.

in the south of England, with the largest proportion - some 38% - in London and the South
East. The rest of the workforce is spread throughout Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the
remaining regions of England, with the highest concentrations in the South West (13%) and
the East of England (12%).
The Photo Imaging industry is made up of 8,700 companies, two thirds (68%) of which are
sole trading or freelance photographers.

It’s industries in publishing, media and web design. The founders
Mark Getty and Johnathan Klein. It’s supplier of stock images for
business and consumers with an archive of 80 million still
images and illustrations and more than 50,000 hours of stock
film footage. It targets three markets- creative professionals (
advertising and graphic design).The media (print and online
publishing ), and corporate (in-house design, marketing and
communication departments). Carlyle group owns Getty images,
Carlyle group is and American-based global asset management
firm, specializing in private equity, but operates in four business
areas also in real assets, market strategies and funds of funds,
through it’s Alpnvest subsidiary.

Is a British photographic services franchise founded at 1983 the
founders are Don Kennedy and Tim MacAndrews. Snappy snap

Fujifilm Holdings Corporation, commonly known as Fujifilm is a Japanese
multinational photography and imaging company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

6. HOW HAS DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
AFFECTED THIS INDUSTRY:
Digital technology has affected photography and photo imaging industry in
a good way as there’s more employment needed as there’s better and high
technology in cameras and photos and more job roles needed in the
industry. Today is so much quicker to get a photo taken then they did few
decades ago as before the quality weren’t as good and wasn’t even in
colour or you had to try and get a good lighting room because there was no
proper flash. You can even send images now through email and the internet
as before you couldn’t do any of those things, or no one could afford to get
a picture done or buy a camera for themselves so digital technology
throughout the years has improved the industry for the better.
