Katie Sheets is committed to meeting the individual needs of every student through patience, love, understanding and flexibility. She will form lessons that are accurate and respectful of all cultures and individuals. As an educator, she will be a lifelong learner by participating in professional development opportunities and seeking help from mentors. Collaboration with other educators is critical to maintain a stress-free learning environment for students. She will be an honest, fair and sincere teacher who sets high standards for learning and encourages students to respect laws and make good decisions. All children learn in unique and special ways. My job as an educator will be to meet the
needs of every student as an individual. I will do this through patience, love and understanding.
Flexibility will be key to a safe and healthy learning environment as well as a time for me to re-
flect on my methods. It will be important for me to form lessons that are accurate and respectful
of all cultural groups and every student as an individual.
The most important thing I can do for my students is to be a life long learner. I will use and
participate in seminars, in-service, and professional development opportunities. To be successful
it will be important to seek help from mentors and fellow educators. Collaboration with others in
a team is critical to maintain a stress free environment not only for myself but my classroom as
well.
My personal choices and attitude towards my students will reflect in the manner in which I
conduct myself professionally. I will be honest, fair and sincere in my efforts to help students
meet there goals not only in the classroom but outside as well. Enthusiasm will be the center-
piece of my teaching skills. I will strive to set an example of how important it is to respect the
laws of our society and communities therefore encouraging my students to make good decisions
and to respect themselves as well as others. In order for my students to be successful learners I
will set a high standard of learning that will be expected from everyone. I will hold myself to the
same standards that I will hold my students to. Communication will be a key aspect to the learn-
ing environment. Without communication there cannot be effective learning or teaching. I will
make certain that my students are aware of my expectations through written and verbal re-
minders. Students need to be nurtured and to feel apart of a learning community to be successful
and responsible members of society.
