They aim to be a moral and intellectual model, encouraging students to think critically and take responsibility for their own learning, while also supporting their self-esteem. The teacher promotes active and collaborative learning through lessons that stimulate curiosity, and believes teachers also learn through teamwork. I believe that knowledge empowers one with the ability to make positive life accomplishments.
When students are in my classroom, they will know they are in a place where their learning is the
main focus. Everything, from my classroom management style to the way in which lessons are
planned and taught, will be done with the students’ best interests in mind. My goal as an educator is
to create a positive learning environment that helps to drive students’ desire for success.
I believe that students learn by example. As a teacher,I am a moral and intellectual role model for
my students. I must help them, through the use problem solving techniques and skills, to reach their
own conclusions about the world. Another part of my responsibility is to encourage students to be
active participants in their own attainment of knowledge. As a teacher I will provide support without
removing responsibility. It is also crucial, that I create positive relationships with all my students. I
believe that outside of teaching lessons, it is also a part of my responsibility to maintain or enhance
students’ self-esteem and self-efficacy. It is also crucial that I listen and respond to their concerns
with empathy and care.
I believe students learn by doing. Students are more likely to form deep knowledge when engaged in
learning experiences that stimulate their senses. When active learning is taking place, self-discovery
will also take place. I plan lessons to arouse students’ curiosity and motivate them to deeper learning
in my classroom, in college and beyond. I encourage students to learn by actively participating and
interacting with each other.
I believe teachers learn through collaboration. Collaboration and teamwork are crucial to a
successfulteaching career. As a team,educators can provide interdisciplinary connections necessary
for students to be more productive citizens in society. I believe that where there is teamwork in a
school’s environment, the quality of the experience is significantly enhanced for both teachers and
students. It can also be helpful for teachers to collaborate with students in regards to lesson planning
and classroom management. It is a powerful classroom technique to ask students for help and
encourage their involvement.
I believe the best way to instruct is through differentiation. All students are unique and different.
They come into one classroom but can be from a multitude of backgrounds and experiences and as a
result see and connect with the world in completely different ways. It is therefore very important that
as a teacher,I instruct through differentiation that takes advantage of the various learning styles of
and backgrounds of the students. It is important to include appropriate accommodations and
extensions specific to individual students’ needs.
