What is cache memory?
 Cache memory is a small amount of very fast memory that
is built into the CPU. Blocks of instructions and data that
are in use by the CPU are copied from RAM into cache
memory, along with the associated memory addresses.
 If the CPU needs to access a memory address it first
checks the cache memory to see if there is a match. If
there is then it access the contents of the cache version.
Summary:
A CPU with a larger cache memory and more levels of cache memory will have a higher performance
than one without cache memory.

 The Internet is the global system of interconnected computer networks that
uses the Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link devices worldwide.
 . It is a network of networks that consists of private, public, academic, business,
and government networks of local to global scope, linked by a broad array of
electronic, wireless, and optical networking technologies. The Internet carries a
vast range of information resources and services, such as the inter-linked
hypertext documents and applications of the World Wide Web (WWW),
electronic mail, telephony, and file sharing.
 The origins of the Internet date back to research commissioned by the United
States Department of Defense in the 1960s to build robust, fault-tolerant
communication with computer networks
Intranet
An intranet is a computer network for sharing
information, collaboration tools, operational systems, and
other computing services only within an organization, and
to the exclusion of access by outsiders to the organization
Many modern intranets have search engines, user profiles,
blogs, mobile apps with notifications, and events planning
within their infrastructure.
An intranet is sometimes contrasted to an extranet.
Extranet
An extranet is a controlled private network that allows access to
partners, vendors and suppliers or an authorized set of customers –
normally to a subset of the information accessible from an
organization's intranet
An extranet is similar to a DMZ in that it provides access to needed
services for authorized parties, without granting access to an
organization's entire network.
Extranets can be expensive to implement and maintain within an
organization (e.g., hardware, software, employee training costs), if
hosted internally rather than by an application service provider.
Website
A website or web site is a collection of related network web
resources, such as web pages, multimedia content, which are
typically identified with a common domain name, and published on
at least one web server. Notable examples are wikipedia.org,
google.com, and amazon.com.
Websites can be accessed via a public Internet Protocol (IP)
network, such as the Internet, or a private local area network
(LAN), by a uniform resource locator (URL) that identifies the site.
Websites can have many functions and can be used in various
fashions; a website can be a personal website, a corporate website
for a company, a government website, an organization website, etc.
E-Mail
 Electronic mail (email or e-mail) is a method of exchanging messages
between people using electronic devices. Invented by Ray Tomlinson, email
first entered limited use in the 1960s and by the mid-1970s had taken the form
now recognized as email.
 Email operates across computer networks, which today is primarily the
Internet. Some early email systems required the author and the recipient to both
be online at the same time, in common with instant messaging.
 Today's email systems are based on a store-and-forward model. Email servers
accept, forward, deliver, and store messages

 SPSS Statistics is a software package used for interactive, or batched,
statistical analysis. Long produced by SPSS Inc., it was acquired by IBM in
2009. The current versions (2015) are named IBM SPSS Statistics.
 The software name originally stood for Statistical Package for the Social
Sciences (SPSS), reflecting the original market, then later changed to
Statistical Product and Service Solutions.
 Statistics included in the base software:
 Descriptive statistics: Cross tabulation, Frequencies, Descriptive, Explore,
Descriptive Ratio Statistics
 Bivariate statistics: Means, t-test, ANOVA, Correlation, Nonparametric tests,
Bayesian
 Prediction for numerical outcomes: Linear regression
 Prediction for identifying groups: Factor analysis, cluster analysis
 Geo spatial analysis, simulation

Data analysis using SPSS
 Sample Problem: Define the variables for sex in the following data sheet,
where “1” represents a female and “2” represents a male
 Step 1: Click “Data” and then click “Define Variable
Properties.”
 Step 2: Click a variable in the left window that you want to define. In
this sample problem, we want to define the “sex” variable, so click “Sex”
and then click the center arrow.
 Step 3: Click “Continue.” The main Define Variable Properties window will
open.
 Step 4: Type your variable names in the “Label” section of the Define
Properties window. For this sample problem, type “Female” to the right of the
value 1.00 and “Male” to the right of the value 2.00.
 Step 5: Click “OK” to save the variable changes.

 *1. Apply single value label. Note how it appears under Variable

Data analysis
SPSS CROSSTABS produces contingency tables: frequencies for one
variable for each value of another variable separately. If assumptions
are met, a chi-square test may follow to test whether an association
between the variables is statistically significant.
*Minimal CROSSTABS command.

STATISTICS Subcommand
for evaluating the statistical significance of an association among the
variables involved. It's obtained by specifying CHISQ on the
STATISTICS subcommand.
CELLS Subcommand
 By default, CROSSTABS shows only frequencies (counts).
However, the association between variables usually become more
visible by displaying row or column percentages. They can be
obtained by adding a CELLS subcommand.

Core calculation software
 A core is part of a CPU that receives instructions and performs
