Activities:
PHANTEQ offers its expertise in research-design-development of
wireless access solutions based on its patented and innovative
distributed random-access MAC solution.
PHANTEQ’s MAC solution is flexible enough to adapt and
efficiently exploit variety of physical layer technologies to meet the
required data services’ needs.
The solution is usable in many mobile wireless communication
systems such as

➢ Tactical wireless ad hoc networks
➢ M2M and IoT networks

Technology:
PHANTEQ’s distributed wireless access solution achieves high reuse
factor of the radio resource in any network topology and size.
Thus, costly and less efficient static or dynamic frequency planning
is avoided, and high throughput pervasive distributed wireless
networking is enabled.
The figure bellow shows the performance achieved by the solution
when considering a D2D network of 50 nodes using the
OpenAirInterfaceTM implementation of the 3GPP LTE uplink.
Indeed, the PHANTEQ’s MAC solution is proven to approach the
max-fair capacity of wireless ad hoc networks as the ratio ‘α’
between access opportunities period and transmission duration
decreases.
The max-fair capacity is achieved by a scheme that gives
instantaneous conflict-free and equal probability access to each
element in the competing sets of non-interfering links.
The lower bound considers the worst performance that a fair
random-access protocol following our solution may achieve. The
loss in throughput for a non-interfering set of K elements is
expressed as ∑ 𝑖𝛼(1 − 𝑒−1
)𝑒1𝐾
𝑖=1 .
As illustrated, PHANTEQ’s MAC solution achieves a high channel
reuse and approaches the capacity with decreasing ‘α’.

Thus, costly and less efficient static or dynamic frequency planning is avoided, and high throughput pervasive distributed wireless networking is enabled. The figure bellow shows the performance achieved by the solution when considering a D2D network of 50 nodes using the OpenAirInterfaceTM implementation of the 3GPP LTE uplink. Indeed, the PHANTEQ’s MAC solution is proven to approach the max-fair capacity of wireless ad hoc networks as the ratio ‘α’ between access opportunities period and transmission duration decreases. The max-fair capacity is achieved by a scheme that gives instantaneous conflict-free and equal probability access to each element in the competing sets of non-interfering links. The lower bound considers the worst performance that a fair random-access protocol following our solution may achieve. The loss in throughput for a non-interfering set of K elements is expressed as ∑ 𝑖𝛼(1 − 𝑒−1 )𝑒1𝐾 𝑖=1 . As illustrated, PHANTEQ’s MAC solution achieves a high channel reuse and approaches the capacity with decreasing ‘α’.
