Multitasking Benefits
In some cultures, multitasking is for intelligent people; similarly, in Saudi Arabia, women practice
multitasking to show how they are smart and hardworking. It is one of the stereotyping that seems
fascinating for most of Saudi people. Although multitasking has positive effects, it has negative
consequences. To be more specific, multitaskingconsists of productive and powerless situations that
has relationship between multitasking and health. One of the significant benefit from multitasking
is the enjoyment. People who seek different activities to express relaxation find multitasking is the
energetic solution to get satisfaction. For example, a large number of students prefer to study at
coffee shops while they are drinking, eating,

Food Labeling
Introduction There once was a time where words like light and low fat on food packages that
had no nutritional meaning. As a result, shoppers were often led to believe they were buying
products that were more helpful than they really were. Nutrition panels on labels were also
confusing and hard to read. But the Australia New Zealand Authority (ANZFA) changed all that.
In March 2001 the ANZFA defined new standardized terms that appear on food labels such as
low fat , reduced and lean to control how food manufacturers could put their facts that are relevant
to most of our dietary needs. This meaning that food labeling helps consumers to make the best
possible food choice. What is a food label? What is on a food label? A... Show more content on

If a product has a nutrition claim on it, it has to have a panel, which has to be laid out as
illustrated on the back of the pecan label. 8. Nutrient Claim There is a lot of legal claims on the
pecan label such as not genetically modified , Mono unsaturated , no insecticide , no cholesterol ,
unsalted , no sugar , free recipes and natural . Conclusion With all the information that I have
collected about food labeling, all of them had negative thoughts about the legal standard terms. I
believe that the newly resolved problem with the food labeling standard terms need to get more
recognition because in the future consumers wont have to fight any more for information to help
them choose the foods they want and eat in a healthy diet. Food labels contain vital information, not

The Importance Of A Musician And A Fine Artist
Two careers that the Focus 2 Assessment claims would be a satisfactory fit for me include a
musician and a fine artist. For both of these occupations, I would be more than willing to deliberate
about taking up either of them in the future, taking into consideration that I am currently a
performing musician. I also have plentiful experience in the visual arts as well, so I could imagine
being a fine artist as well. Both jobs include doing things I enjoy to a great extent. A musician is an
individual who typically plays an instrument, but numerous musicians may also compose music,
direct ensembles, or teach. Demand in musician positions is expected to grow by about 5% until
2022, which is slower than the average growth for other occupations. Musicians need continuous
training to maintain skills, knowledge, and the ability to interpret music. Much of this training can
be achieved through colleges, universities, and musical conservatories. Typically, this training
culminates in a variety of bachelor degrees, including Music Education, Music Performance, and
Music Business. Participation in some sort of musical ensemble is pertinent while studying to
become a musician. Skills that are typically required of musicians include troubleshooting,
experience in the performing arts, manual dexterity, managing time, listening, and decision making.
The salary for musicians is typically around $45,000 a year. However, this can vary between
musicians due to short term contracts or working

Taking a Look at Islam
Islam is a religion that tells it believers a complete way of living. The core belief of Islam is that
there is no God but Allah and Muhammad (S.A.W) is the last prophet of God. The concept of
worship in Islam is a general concept which meets all the good in religion and life. The truth of
worship is all said and works that appeal to Allahand you are satisfied. The Muslim in life knows
that he is a true servant of Allah and obeying Allah seeks to fulfill and to avoid what banned in all
things, in life and religion and because it is his honor to be his servant (Von Grunebaum, 2013). The
Abrahamic religions are monotheistic faiths that recognize spiritual identification with Abraham.
Islam, Christianity and Judaism share the patriarch Abraham. Although the three monotheistic
religions: Jews, Christians and Muslims are Abrahamic religions, because they come from the
patriarch Abraham, is only in Islam where the Eid El Adja, or feast of sacrifice; where the Prophet
Abraham is the protagonist, is celebrated with great splendor. The Jews are considered the
descendants of Abraham, who was devoted to the service of the one God, creator of heaven and
earth. This God demands righteousness and justice. Abraham s belief was an ethical monotheism.
His descendants were to spread that belief and remain faithful to the covenant with God. God
would watch in his favor and give them a possession the Holy Land. All families of the earth could
participate in this Alliance. Muslims, followers

The Theatre Research Paper
The theatre is the place where stage actors belong. One can t help but admire the structure of the
grand stage bordered by big curtains and several seats all facing you. Theatre is my passion and
acting is pretty fun as well. Acting is a way to express oneself and hone a skill to portray a
character. After settling in after a long day of classes, if there isn t a tv show, play, or a movie , in the
background, the ambience is a buzzkill. It just doesn t feel right. Theatreis one of the few things in
life that brings people from all different backgrounds together. Some of the most dedicated, bravest,
and talented people just simply do what has been done for centuries. Deteminately, they tell a story.

Anyone Can Whistle is a musical about political corruption and the vague definition of sanity.
The hated mayor Cora Hoover Hooper, has led her small town into bankruptcy. To save the town,
she creates a fake miracle to attract tourist dollars. Unfortunately, during the tourist rush, the
inmates from the local asylum, called the Cookie Jar, escape. A Doctor Hapgood surfaces who
says he can identify the cookies and separate them from the sane members of society, Trouble
ensues when the cookies nurse, Fay Apple, refuses to identify her patients and ends up falling in
love with Hapgood. (Laurents) Religion, politics, government, psychiatry, tourism, marriage,
gender roles, racism, and other things are what this show satirizes. An audience can easily get lost

Congestive Heart Failure
Congestive heart hailure, also known as CHF or heart failure, affects the lives of 5 million
Americans each year with 550,000 new cases diagnosed yearly. (Emory healthcare, 2013) CHF is a
medical condition in which the heart has become weak and cannot pump enough blood to meet the
need for oxygen rich blood required by the vital organs of the body, less blood is pumped out of
the heart to the organs and tissues in the body and pressure in the heart increases, it does not mean
the heart has stopped working. (Murphy, 2013) Once the heart has become weakened by conditions

The physician will order lab tests such as electrolyte panel, creatinine and albumin levels to
determine if there are any abnormalities with the liver and kidney functions, a chest x ray may be
performed to determine if the heart is enlarged and an Electrocardiogram to see if the patient has
ventricle thickening, abnormal heart rhythm or even a heart attack. Once these tests have been
completed the physician may order a MUGA scan or cardiac catheterization to determine the patient
ejection fraction or EF, but most common practice is to order an echocardiogram, which is less
invasive, to determine the ejection fraction. (Association, American Heart, 2013) Ejection fraction,
usually stated as a percentage, determines how well the heart pumps with each beat. A normal
heart will pump a little more than half the heart s blood volume with each beat. Left ventricular
ejection fraction (LVEF), measures the amount of blood pumped out of the left ventricle of the
heart with each contraction. Right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF), measures the amount of
blood pumped out of the right side of the heart to the lungs for oxygen. A normal EF ranges from
55 77% and will be lower when the heart muscle has been damaged by cardiomyopathy, heart
attack or other disease that have weakened the heart muscle. An ejection fraction of 40% usually
confirms the diagnosis of heart failure and an ejection fraction of less than 35% puts the patient at
risk of life

The Effects Of Osteoporosis On The Bone Disease
The Effects of Osteoporosis Osteoporosis is a bone disease that occurs when the body loses too
much bone, too little bone, or both. Because of this, bones become weak and may break from a
fall, or worse, break from sneezing or minor bumps (National Osteoporosis Foundation).
Osteoporosis means porous bone . A healthy bone under a microscope looks like a honeycomb,
when osteoporosisis taking place, the holes and spaces in the honeycomb are much larger than in
the healthy bone. Bones that are osteoporotic have lost density, and contain abnormal tissue
structure. When bones lose this density, they weaken and are more likely to break. Osteoporosis
is often called a silent disease because one can t feel bones weakening. Breaking a bone is... Show

Smoking can lead to lower bone density, and higher risk of fracture, and this risk increases with
age. Over four units of alcohol a day can double the risk of a hip fracture. The risk of vertebral
and hip fractures in men increases greatly with heavy alcohol intake, particularly with long term
intake. Low body weight and weight loss is associated with greater bone loss and increased risk
of fracture. Some young females, particularly those training for elite athletic competitions,
exercise too much, eat too little, and consequently experience amenorrhea, which makes them at
risk for low bone mass and fractures. Middle aged and older men and women with annual height
loss 0.5 cm is at an increased risk of hip and any other fractures. Falls contribute to fractures
ninety percent of hip fractures result from falls. A third of people over age sixty five fall annually,
with approximately ten to fifteen percent of falls in the elderly resulting in fractures. Almost sixty
percent of those who fell the previous year, will fall again. Use of anxiolytics, sedatives,
neuroleptics, and antidepressants has been shown to increase risk of

Summary Of Let The Punishment Fit The Crime By Robert Blecker

prison, a quick but painful death...can help restore a moral balance (Blecker). Some people agree
with the death penalty because of moral fairness; however, some people oppose the death penalty
because of family relationship, financial costs with education, false conviction, bias and religious
perspective. In the article With the Death Penalty, Let the Punishment Fit the Crime, the author
Robert Blecker argues about which method of execution would best fit the crime and the unequal
situation in prison. Although Blecker explains the reason of death penalty and discusses about
choosing better method of execution, based on the research, I oppose

How Did Lenin s Use Of Power
Despite having other methods of control such as: Lenin s power and the soviet constitution, the
Bolshevik leadership s main method of control was terror. Although this was the main method of
control the Bolshevik leadership only had a certain degree of control over the party that was not
great between 1917, when the party seized power to 1924, when the soviet constitution was
established.
Bolshevik use of terror enabelled the leadership to reinforce their hold over the party. This was
due to Cheka; Lenin s secret police who were formed in 1917. Their role was to deal with
counter revolution, sabotage and speculation. This was important to avoid opposition in the party;
increasing the strength of leadership. To create a wider use of terror in 1922 Cheka was replaced
with the OGPU, which made arrests and tourtiГЁre more bureaucratic and discreet. Under Lenin s
control one third of the party was purged, this would make the use of terror a main method for
ridding the leadership of opposition and losing support. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The constitution strengthened the control of the Party over outlying regions of the old Russian
Empire. This would ve been important for part leadership as by increasing the regions under soviet
control they would increase support for the government. The extending of the part to the other
regions tightened authority in the Soviet state. To extend the Soviet Unionthe Red Army was sent
into the regions. This shows a further use of terror by the Bolshevik leadership. The constitution did
mean that party bodies were strictly under control of the central Party structure. Resulting in the
constitution playing an important role in the leaderships control, but as terror was required to
inforce it it highlights the importance of terror in the Bolshevik

Equal Rights For Women
Equal rights for women has been in an ongoing conversation throughout America, especially
when it comes to the workforce. Equal pay and opportunity has been fought for, for many years.
But can the workforce really be equal if the women do not do their part to strive and stay in
work? In Sheryl Sandberg s Ted Talk Why We Have Too Few Women Leaders she discusses the
topic of how women can rise to the top and become leaders in the world by staying in their line of
work. She explains that although equality for women has progressed, leadership positions often
lack femaleoccupants. (Sandberg, 2010, page 12) She backs her statements using logos as she goes
farther into detail by sharing statistical data. Sandberg gives three fairly simple... Show more

Being a young woman myself I have personally struggled with this as well as seen many of my
friends struggle with this. There has been many times where I left a test or showcase tournament
knowing I failed to do the best I could when in doubt I did just fine. I believe this to tie into an
underlying self esteem issue women face. According to Colleen Slaughter (2016), In a KPMG
Women s Leadership study, 67% of women said they needed more support building confidence to
feel like they can be leaders. This statistic shows that women lack the self confidence to sit at the
table . In order for women to become top leaders in industries they must first find their confidence
within themselves.
As Sandberg begins to discuss her second rule, make your partner a real partner, there are many
obstacles that one could face which might make following them impractical. She also neglects the
fact the some households differ. In her Ted Talk, one can come to the conclusion that she is
advertising to the families that have a mom and a dad. In fact Sandberg specifically states (2010,
page), If a woman and a man work full time and have a child, the woman does twice the amount of
housework the man does, and the woman does three times the amount of childcare the man does.
Sandberg fails to include a version of rule number two that would be attainable for nonheterosexual
woman as well as single parents. According to Gretchen Livingston (2014),

Cloud Computing Is A Web Based Utility Model
Cloud computing is a web based utility model. Cybercrime effecting web based systems are equally
applicable in the cloud computing. Considering the affectability and the harm that can be created
by cybercrimes, this is an effort to examine the different digital dangers and routines used to
mitigate them. Firstly, the paper will highlight cloud utilization according to different service
models (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) and the potential dangers that are pertinent to these service models.
Next, it highlights the commercial industries that are generally attacked. Lastly, we propose a
complete five stage model to relieve cybercrime. It begins with disinfecting the client s PC, usage
of security amid transmission and closures with the information present in the cloud. Sticking to the
proposed model, cybercrime may be controlled up to 90%. Instead of the five stage model, some
companies frequently rely upon replicating the information.
Introduction
Cloud computing is a web based utility model. The user does not need to maintain any
infrastructure that is to be managed by the provider that is cloud provider. The cloud provides
different solutions for the software, platform oriented and the infrastructure. There are three
types of services offered which are classified as (IaaS) Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a
service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). These services can be deployed by its cloud
models that can be private, public, hybrid and community model.

Growing Number of Electric Power Grids
The existing electric power grids face new challenges with the growing economies that are
dependent on electricity. These challenges put the ability of the current electric power grids at
risks of being able to deliver efficient, reliable and clean power energy to meet the demand of the
growing economies. The reliability of the existing electric power girds during peak load conditions
is ensured mainly by having excessive power capacity in the whole system [1]. Excessive power
capacity necessitates turning on peaker plants which are environmentally unfriendly and also
expensive. Conversely, when the average demand is much lower than the peak load, then the need
for energy storage becomes a necessity. A key solution to the energy storage and wastage problems
is offered by renewable energy sources; however, their integration with the existing grids comes
with a set of barriers such as the intermittency of generation and the high level of distribution of the
sources and the lack of proven distribution control algorithms to manage such a highly distributed
generation base [2]. In such situation, the use of communication and information technologies is
attractive to match the demand to the available supply and dramatically improve performance and
efficiency. A smart grid is an intelligent electricity network that integrates the actions of all users
connected to it and makes use of advanced information, control, and communications technologies
to save energy, reduce cost and

The Hebrew Bible, By Marc Zvi Brettler
How To Read The Jewish Bible, authored by Biblical scholar, and professor, Marc Zvi Brettler, is
an enlightening text, guiding people towards studying the Hebrew Scriptures purposefully. Brettler
(2005) reveals his book provides a response to the frustration many readers hold towards the
Hebrew Bible, with the conventional tendency of filtering it through the lens of present day culture.
Generally, he argues, as a result, this leads one to misconstrue passages or arrive at the definitive
conclusion the Bibleholds no relevant value within our contemporary era and therefore, should

5).
Brettler s goal of guiding readers toward an appreciation and understanding of the purpose in
utilizing the historical critical study practice is well laid out as a foundation to the book. By
prioritizing the first four chapters as he did, Brettler sets the tone of how one should survey the
Scriptures for the greatest illumination. From the start, he outlines what the historical critical
method is in theory and practice, which dispels the assumption every reader holds a familiarity with
it. Clarity comes alongside the resolution that applying the historical critical method to the
Scriptures does not set out to destroy the Hebrew Bible s importance. Rather it lends an unbiased
avenue to read these religious texts in a compelling way, bringing understanding in a multifaceted
fashion as opposed to one dimensional, conclusive outcomes.
Approaching the Scriptures from a Jewish viewpoint, as discussed in class, is well supported in
Brettler s book. Through his preparatory teaching on what the Hebrew Bible in itself is, and how
one should read it, a ground is laid. Explaining the difference between the Christian Bible and
Hebrew Bible is a vital inclusion. The Christian Bible passages, called the Old Testament, are read
with the belief that they lead into the New Testament. The Hebrew Bible does contain a New
Testament, so one would not read it within the same frame of reference.

Rainford has his whole life planned out ahead of him and he s not going to let a few bugs bites

Those who could not afford the expensive equipment served the military as light infantry, who
mainly wielded javelins and would hurl them into enemy lines.
The Carthage army wore very strong armor which included chainmail, bronze or iron greaves, full
helmets, and the iconic shield that has been on most of the battlegrounds of the ancient world, the
Hoplon. Hoplons were used by the Greeks for many generations. It is a sturdy shield of ingenious
design with rounded wood covered in bronze. Many Carthaginian soldiers painted religious
symbols on their armor and shield, such as the symbol of Tanit. (Basar)
All of this; however, pales in comparison to their ultimate weapons. Riding into battle the fearsome
African war elephants were a sight that would strike incredible fear into any heart. They were
sometimes even armored with chain mail and had men shooting arrows from the tops of them.
The Romans were also a force to be reckoned with. They will, after all, go on to conquer most of
the known western world and much of that comes from good equipment and training. The core
of a roman legionary soldier was his armor. Romans wore armor depending on what type of troop
they were. The most common armor of this time period was called Lorica Musculata. This armor
was made of strong solid bronze that would fit over the chest and back of the soldier. These chest
plates were made in accordance to a Greek style,

The success of any business is a result of the interaction between the two major factors. The ability
to use its internal resources which are the inputs. In terms of Premier Inn; the hotel rooms have to
be clean and in ready for the guest to check in to them. The team members have to friendly and
welcoming to the guests and making sure they are well looked after.
2.2 The 4 V s volume, variety, variation, and visibility
Although operations processes are very similar in the way they transform inputs, they differ in
four ways which are the four V s. Volume is the number of products offered. The hotels are made
from accurate volumetric prefabrications. The rooms are designed for single occupancy as well
as families. There is a medium to high repetition of tasks which allows for specialisation in
hospitality. Everything has to be done systematically for example in terms of the check in process
or cleaning of rooms.
Variety are the different range services offered. Premier Inn offers a variety of rooms. The
rooms are arranged in various configurations to suit the needs of a particular site. The rooms are
designed to be attractive, functional and comfortable. They are designed in such a way that they
are easy to get around for maintenance purposes and to make easy for the guest. All of the rooms

Soft Drink and Coca Cola
Coca Cola s New Vending Machine (A) Case Questions
1. Is selling Coke through interactive vending machines a good or bad idea? Explain your
answer. It is a good idea to sell Coke through interactive vending machines. Over the last three
years, the soft drinking giants have watched their earnings erode as they waged a price war in
supermarkets. Vending machines have remained largely untouched by the discounting. Sales of
soft drinks from vending machines have risen steadily over the last few years, though most sales
still take place in supermarkets. Last year, about 11.9 percent of soft drink sales worldwide were
from vending machines. Vending machines require low cost for companies. Company can just

Therefore, it will only add value to the product for them when it is cold. Overall, brand switchers
will benefit the most from this technology as they can buy Coca Cola when it is cheaper and switch
to an alternative when it is more expensive. 4. Are there any price related issues that can
adversely affect the firm? Price Wars Coca Cola needs to consider the risk of price wars if this
technology is introduced because the ability to discount prices so easily could cause
competitors to continually lower prices, specifically at holidays. Price Discrimination: This
means, selling the same good to different groups of buyers at different prices . Price
discrimination is used most through the internet because it so much easier to change prices and
know information about the consumers buying behaviors so they can raise or lower the price
accordingly meaning that they are not sacrificing profits but increasing economic efficiency.
Therefore with Coke, those consumers that drink on hot days will be worse of since they have
to pay a higher price, while those that drink on cold days will be better of. Consequently, sales in
hotter countries could decrease as a result of charging high prices. It will only be a success if the
difference between prices are not explicitly known. Otherwise Price discrimination could harm
Coca Cola s brand image of being consumer friendly. 5. What did Coke do right? What did Coke do
wrong? How would

Structural Family Therapy
Models of Therapy Structural Family Therapy Theory: Structural Family Therapy (SFT) has a few
interventions within the theoretical model that I could see myself using with clients (families)
from diverse backgrounds with diverse presenting problems. I am in agreement with the way this
model looks at the different types of families and the types of issues they present with such as the
patterns common to troubled families; some being enmeshed, chaotic and tightly interconnected,
while others are disengaged, isolated and seemingly unrelated. This model also helped me
understand that families are structured in subsystems with boundaries, their members not seeing

In my personal opinion and experience, I find that the field of psychology is lacking in diverse
cultural competencies as much as the society is diverse in its population. I believe that as with
using any theoretical model, the therapists cultural knowledge needs to include understanding of
the many cultural considerations influencing the effectiveness of treatment when dealing with
clients from diverse backgrounds. When servicing the individuals in the family, care and attention
needs to be directed towards family and community norms and values around help seeking, secrecy
and confidentiality, family roles, child rearing and spiritual practices.
Interventions:
One of the main interventions of Functional Family Therapy that resonates with me is that one of
the prime goals of this model is to identify the primary focus of intervention (the family) and reflect
an understanding that positive and negative behaviors both influence and are influenced by the
relationships each family member has with one another. Therefore, making functional therapy a
multi systemic program, meaning that it focuses on the multiple domains and systems within which
families live and interact with one another. Within this context, FFT works first to develop family
members inner strengths and sense of being

Friction Stir Welding And Artificial Neural Networks
1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND Friction stir welding (FSW) and Artificial neural
networks (ANN) are two well known approaches in their respective field. FSW is a well known
method in material sciences and ANN in computer science. The aim is to combine these two
approaches to get some important results. Friction stir welding (FSW) is a novel method of joining
materials in solid state. It was invented by the Welding Institute (TWI) in 1991. It was initially
applied for joining aluminium and later expanded its domain for joining similar and dissimilar
alloys. Basically in FSW a specially designed rotating cylindrical tool that comprises of shoulder and
pin is used. The pin of the rotating tool is plunged into the sheet material and the shoulder comes
into contact with the surface of sheet, and then traverses in the desired direction. The contact
between the rotating tool and the sheet generate heat which softens the material below the melting
point and with the stirring caused by the pin, the material within the processed zone undergoes
intense plastic deformation yielding a dynamically recrystallized fine grain microstructure.
Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) is a network of simple processing elements (neurons) which
exhibits complex behavior, determined by the connections between the processing elements and
element parameter. Each neuron is connected to other neurons by means of directed communication
links, each with an associated weight. The weight represents

Canterbury Tales Essay
Canterbury Tales Wife of Bath is Not an Attack on Women and Married Life
Feminists have proposed that the Prologue of the Wife of Bath is merely an attack on women and
married life. The Prologue is spoken by a woman with strong opinions on how married life should
be conducted, but is written by a man. It is important to examine the purpose with which Chaucer
wrote it. This is especially so as many of the pilgrims in The Canterbury Tales condemn themselves
out of their own mouths, such as the Monk and the Friar. While the Wife spends most of the
Prologue arguing in favour of the deceit and deviousness that wise wives will execute, the argument
is often illogical and can approach ridiculousness in its vehemence. Are we to agree with ... Show

However, the vitality and forcefulness of the Wife forces us to avoid coming to so neat a
conclusion. Dame Alison is frightening and dangerous, true. By the moral codes of society, she has
sinned by committing adultery, and strictly speaking, should not have married so many times.
However, the language that Chaucer has her speak is not that of right and wrong, it is that of
total amorality and self service. The Wife does not pretend to better behaviour, nor does she
accuse anyone else of sinning, and so we cannot accuse her of hypocrisy. In contrast, the Monk and
Friar [good] are clearly the targets of irony, as they do not seem to be aware of the contradictions in
their arguments. The Wife s contradictions are so staggering and frequent: confusing bigamy with
remarriage, using God s commandment to go forth and multiply although she is childless, and
especially, her frank admission that in previous showdowns with her old husbands, al was false that
she accused them of. She is not a hypocrite; on the contrary, she glories in her irrationality and
manipulation of her material. It is difficult, therefore, to see her as being attacked through irony, as
the Monk and Friar are.

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
Television has been one the most influential pieces of technology as a source for entertainment.
During the earliest days of Televisions introduction into society, there were always shows
highlighting the portrayals of mothers cooking and cleaning their homes for their husbands and
children. Although, as time moved on, televisionand the shows that were channeled on it took a
dramatic turn, leaving the days of drama free entertainment as a vast memory. Today, however,
when a person turns on a television and flips through the vastness of channels on their cable
network to eventually a channel like Bravo, the screen goes on to glisten and proceeds to
portraying ritzy socialite women dealing with their everyday lives as housewives . The Real
Housewives of Atlantadeals with the everyday lives of modern day housewives living in Atlanta,
Georgia. Upon thought of these women and their family life, the reality series displays to its

American Intervention, Chile, And Augusto Pinochet
American Intervention, Chile, Augusto Pinochet After World War II, the United States emerged as
a world power. However, with this new power and hegemony status, came the threat of being
overtaken and being replaced as the dominant nation. One threat that the United States faced was
the rise of Communism. The US feared the spread of Communism in other nations, even in Latin
America. One country where the US intervened to stop the spread of Communism is Chile. In
1970, Salvador Allende, a Marxist and a member of a joint Communist Socialist coalition, was
elected to the presidency over the incumbent Eduardo Frei, who had the support of the US. Since
the US was already facing tough economic competitors in the 1970s, along with the Vietnam...

It was what the US was waiting for. The time had come to make other nations take notice. In
response to all of the rising tensions, the US established the Monroe Doctrine in 1823. It
established neutrality of the US in terms of European foreign policy affairs, but at the same time,
prohibited the European countries from colonizing any regions in the Western Hemisphere and
stated, any attempt on their part to extend their system to any portion of this hemisphere as
dangerous to our peace and safety (Hastedt, 12). At the time, many nations in the Europe either
dismissed or did take notice of the importance of this decree by the United States. With this official
document, the national interest of the US was made clear, but it would not have to be enforced and
modified until almost a century later (Nester, 86 87).
Another way the United States protected its interests in the international system was through the
Roosevelt Corollary. This addition to the Monroe Doctrine established the power of the US to
police nations in the Western Hemisphere, especially when the governments, or heads of power, of
these nations are not able to maintain order (Hastedt, 12). Through this amendment of the doctrine,
the US was given a bigger sphere of influence in Latin America, and ultimately, the world. These
acts of intervention in other countries were implemented through the use of the military and
economic resources and it was

What Fleming was particularly interested in was the concept that even though people do obtain
bacterial infections at times, majority of the time the human body prevents bacterial infections from
affecting the body. During this researching period, Fleming graduated St. Mary s Medical School
once again with a Bachelor of Bacteriology at the same time receiving the gold medal for the top
student (Maurois, 1956). In 1914 Fleming concluded his research under Almroth Wright s guidance
and unknowingly continued his journey on to becoming the man with the answer to the biggest
human health issue at the time (Maurois, 1956)
In a time when antibiotics were not up to par with bacterial infections, someone, somewhere,
needed to find the answer to getting rid of the bacterial infections that were killing people all over
the world. Bacterial Meningitis was causing children to die or obtain a permanent disease, strep
throat, pneumonia, laryngitis, ear infections were travelling to the brain (2006). That was just the
start of the infections that were causing serious illness or death of people everywhere. Bacteria

External, Internal, and Construct Validity Essay
Validity pertains to both the methods and the design of a research study and indicates the degree
with which correct inferences can be made from the results of a research study (Indiana University
Of Pennsylvania, 2010). According to Trochim and Donnelly, there are four types of validity
including conclusion, internal, construct, and external (2008). In this assignment, three of these
types will be discussed. Internal validityis the extent to which a test measures what it claims to
measure. External validityon the other hand, is the extent to which the results of a researchstudy can
be generalized to other groups, other times, and other settings. Construct validity demonstrates an
association between results and the prediction of a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instrumentation is concerned a lack of consistency in the measuring instrument that could account
for invalid results of a research study. This threat is most likely to occur when two different forms
are used for the pre and post tests or if the instrument is constructed poorly. (Creswell, 2009).
Mortality can occur if research participants drop out of the study before completion. This
problem is more likely to occur if participants are volunteers or if the sample group is too small
(Creswell, 2009). Statistical regression is the tendency of participants who score high on a pretest
to score lower (or closer to the mean) on the posttest and consequently, participants who score low
on a pretest tend to score higher on the posttest. This regression may significantly influence the
distribution of scores. Finally, differential selection can occur if already formed groups are used in
a study as the groups may have had existing differences from the beginning. For example, the
subjects in each group may have extreme age differences or educational backgrounds. As a result,
any differences found at the posttest may be due to these differential selection differences rather
than being due to the independent variable. External validity is the degree to which the results of a
research study can be generalized to and across other populations, settings, times and tasks. The
threats to external validity compromise a

Similarities And Differences Between Robert E. Lee
General War
It no secret that General Ulysses S. Grant and General Robert E. Lee had their differences.
Ranging from appearance to actions they hardly shared any similarities. This makes them both
easily comparable. Both had their ups and their downs, but in the end, General Robert E. Lee was
the best general overall.
Let us start somewhere easy, let us start with their appearances. Lee stood at a 5 ft. 11 in.,
weighing 175 lbs., and Grant stood under him at 5ft. 7 in., weighing 140 lbs. While Lee was
compared in size to the great Abraham Lincoln, it has been said that Grant had to stand on a stool
just to address other soldiers. As for their attire Lee was always seen in a perfect uniform. His
jacket pressed, complete with a sash, general s sword, hat, white gloves, and shined boots. Grant
on the other hand always look disheveled. He wore a simple private s uniform with general
insignia added on, complete with a jacket that looked slept in. Many people accredit this look
saying that His mind was too busy on winning the war than on looking presentable. His personal
account of how he came to this shows more, I was impatient to get on my uniform and see how it
looked, and probably wanted my old school mates, particularly the girls, to see me in it. The
conceit was knocked out of me by two little circumstances that happened soon after the arrival of
the clothes, which gave me a distaste for military uniform that I never recovered from. Being

Character Analysis Of Terry Malloy s On The Waterfront
Does the truth always set you free? On the Waterfront is a film that touches on the complexity of
this question while exposing power, corruption, and its consequences. The main character, Terry
Malloy deals with a personal battle between his morality and what is safest to do. Malloy struggles
in finding his own identity that isn t connected to the mob. He struggles with the insecurity of
having an identity and what that details. Throughout the film, Malloy startes to uncover his identity
and the values in which he believes in.
In the start of the film, Terry has no identity. Everyone thinks of him as a bum. He is an ex fighter
whose glory days are behind him. He is angry and relies on his tough exterior as a safety net. His
identity is controlled by Johnny Friendly, known mob leader. In one of the early scenes, the
audience is introduced to Terry and Johnny Friendly in a bar. Johnny Friendly is hitting some man
because he tried to cheat Johnny of the money that he owed him. It is obvious that Johnny, the
intimidating mob leader has much effect on Terry and everyone else. Throughout the altercation,
Terry sits in the bar quietly, acting submissive to Johnny after witnessing the extend in which
Johnny induces fear in people. Johnny knows of his power and reminds the other members of
their place. Terry accepts his place as a yes man and doesn t dare to stand up to Johnny. His eyes
are fearful of Johnny s power and the consequences of acting against Johnny. After Joey Doyle s
death, the Waterfront Crime Commission approaches Terry to see if he knows of what happened
to Joey. Terry is defensive and hard with the officers. He mentions that he has no involvement in
the death. Even though Terry is reeking of guilt about setting up Joey, he doesn t tell the officers
because of the fear of retaliation by Johnny. He isn t ready yet to stand up to Johnny Friendly.
Terry s guilt begins to be harder to bear as he gets closer to Edie. He is starting to look at Johnny
Friendly as a criminal, a man that shouldn t get away with murder, instead of a powerful man in
which he should fear. Terry s values are shifting as he starts to ponder testifying. He sees the pain
in Edie as she wants answers of who killed her brother.

The Rapper Eminem Is Not An Easy Task
Eminem s legendary music has inspired and intrigued many people and critics over the years. Even
though Eminem became famous at such a young age, Eminem s path to stardom was not an easy
task. Although known for constant controversy, the rapper Eminem is a world renown artist whose
music has influenced and impacted many fans and critics.
On October 17, 1972, a child was born in the deep ghetto of Saint Joseph, Missouri, troubled with
a hard life consisting of no father, a druggy mother, and seemingly alone. This child became one
of the most recognized rappers in the world, he is Marshall Bruce Mathers the third (Mattern 1).
Over the years Marshall became close with his uncle (Ronnie Mathers) who inspired him quite
much and also introduced him to rap and hip hop. Only a few years after Ronnie had introduced
Marshall to hip hop, Ronnie committed suicide ( Eminem Contemporary). This affected Marshall
greatly for the man who practically raised him over the years had just committed suicide leaving
Marshall alone once again.

books carried important information and experiences that readers can learn from. Even though

Another important theme worth mentioning that A Separate Peace and The Curious Incident of the

Every departmental manager within Lanway classed the internet within their three most

However the internet brings with it, from an informational view point, a host of inherent
problems and issues. Lanway, like many other firms suffers from this. In most cases, staff were
unaware of many of these, and as such the quality of information suffered. The accuracy of the
information received is on the most part never checked, and in some cases was then stored to be

Essay about John Edwards Biography
John Edwards Biography
Many Americans recognize John Edwards as the second coming of Jimmy Carter; the soft spoken
Democratic Senator from the south. They know him as the running mate of John Kerry in his 2004
Presidential campaign. But before the North Carolina Senator entertained aspirations of President
or Vice President of the United States, John Edwards made a name for himself as a successful trial
lawyer, a strong husband and father, and charismatic politician.
Born in Seneca, South Carolina on June 10th 1953, Johnny Reid Edwards was raised a Methodist
and learned the values of hard work and perseverance from his father, Wallace and mother, Bobbie,
while growing up in Robbins, North Carolina. Working alongside his father in ... Show more

In Congress, Senator Edwards quickly emerged as a champion for the issues that make a
difference to American families: quality health care, better schools, protecting civil liberties,
preserving the environment, saving Social Security and Medicare, and reforming the ways
campaigns are financed. As a member of the Select Committee on Intelligence, Senator Edwards
worked tirelessly for a strong national defense, and strengthening the security of our homeland.
He authored key pieces of legislation on Internet and port security, as well as biological
terrorism. During the latter part of 2001 and throughout 2002, Edwards engaged in serious
politicking, and on January 2, 2003, he announced the formation of a presidential exploratory
committee, declaring himself a champion for regular folks. On September 16th 2003, in front of
the old Milliken Mill (his father s workplace of thirty six years) in Robbins, North Carolina, Sen.
Edwards formally announced his candidacy for President during the 2004 elections. Although there
was no rule or law against his inhabitance of a Senate seat while running for President, John
Edwards announced that he would not seek re election, so that he could focus all of his efforts
toward his Presidential campaign.
Some viewed Edwards as a very viable candidate, given his success as a Senator in North Carolina.
He also had a

Human Population On Earth s Life
It is terrifying to realize that the human population on Earth has reached over 7.3 billion people.
This astonishing and constantly increasing amount of people threatens our planet s limited
resources. It is times like these that make me nostalgic for the feudal ages, where large populations
of people were decimated by illnesses such as the plague. The advances in modern medicine today,
while extremely impressive, are ultimately extremely detrimental to the humanpopulationas a whole
because they surprisingly help prevent people from dying. How dare they! Humans are starting
to get a better quality of life due to the many advances in medical technology and knowledge, but
at what cost? People won t die! The question is, why should we, as a society, try to prevent
people from dying when it s inevitable? In the animal kingdom, it s everyone for themselves, or
survival of the fittest. If people are too weak to fight off an illness, or too stupid to find a way to
stay alive, then they should die.
There have been many other extremely knowledgeable humans who agree that eventually, the
earth s carrying capacity will no longer be able to keep up with population growth, and
civilization will end unless large swaths of human beings are killed, so the question is: How do
we want to do this? In a very credible and well esteemed publication, Dr. Edwin Peters, a
Cambridge University ecologist followed up this statement by asking a critical question: Do we
want to give

Essay about The Fifth Discipline
The Fifth Discipline
Chapter 11 of Peter Senge s book, The Fifth Discipline, talks about the idea of Shared Vision, and
how this concept has transformed organizations, and individuals working for them, into a cohesive
unit of long term innovative achievement.
Having and transmitting a successful shared vision requires true buy in on the part of the employees
and the organization as a whole, and must foster genuine commitment and active enrollment in
order to bring that organizational vision to a personal level. For shared vision to become a
product of personal vision, each individual must feel it , and be able to see how this vision can be

The owners and coaches can only do so much to prepare the team for the game, it is up to the team
to be able to mentally and physically execute and be able to win the game. The vision in this
case is coming form the middle so to speak. John Elway isn t the president of the team, but he is
one of the major motivating forces of the ball club. His personal vision started last year when he
wanted to lead his team to and win the Super Bowl for the first time in his career, and at least
sometime before he retired. He accomplished this and already this year he is talking about when
our team is 16 and 0 , like it is definitely going to happen. This team is electric and you can see it
in the way they are all playing. Nobody gives in even a little, even deep into the fourth quarter
where other teams defenses begin to tire. Terrell Davis, Shannon Sharpe, and the whole team are
rallying around this vision and show no signs of letting up, as they go into the last part of the
season, which is usually the most difficult as teams are plagued by injury and mental fatigue. John
Elway is really instrumental in all this as he continually looks forward, articulating his vision, and
setting future goals, both of which are clearly shared by the whole team.
It is just this sort of visionary leadership and team coherence that has intoxicated the whole
organization. They know they must get to 16 and 0, and fulfill the dreams

End Of Life Care
Providing End of Life Care Introduction End of life care can be defined as the care of a patient
from the moment healthcare team members have doubts about the purpose of life sustaining
treatment until the care for family after death of the patient (Noome, 2016). Caring for patients
with life threatening illnesses is extraordinarily challenging. When caring for a patient in their
last days, nurses may encounter legal aspects of care that they may not be familiar with. The
main objectives of this paper is to identify and discuss legal aspects of end of life care,
compromised autonomy of the patient, and nurse perspectives on end of life care The Legal
Aspects of End of Life Care McGowan s (2011) article highlights legal implications associated...

Communication between the patient, family, clinicians, and nurses is important in inquiring the
needs and wants of the patient and family. Noome et al. (2016) recognized that ICU nurses
described their role during end of life care as a professional who communicates information to
patients and family on treatments, procedures, and prognosis while providing comfort. Effective
communication about advanced directives and disputes over end of life care decisions may lead to
acceptable compromise and solution between all parties involved (Blackler, 2016). Clear
communication and understanding is needed in order to provide high quality care. Another topic
discussed between the articles involved, is the importance of surrogate decision makers and
advocacy for the substituted judgement standard in situations where the patient does not have the
capacity to make his or her own decisions. Both McGowan (2016) and Blacker (2016) agree that the
proxy should confirm the incompetent patient s actual interests and preferences when making a
decision on their behalf. In these situations nurses should acknowledge the difficult nature of the
situation and help the proxy analyze the patient s interests from the interests of the proxy and/or

Monarchy Vs. Democracy In Ancient Rome
The Roman government is very unique compared to others. While many places had either a
monarchy or democracy the Romans found a way to have both. The Roman empire had both a
senate and an emperor. The Senate made up the Democracy part having elected officials who
although made laws couldn t without approval of the emperor. The Emperor made up the
Monarchy part having the final say in all important objectives. The Roman Emperor was very
much like our modern day president. He oversaw the senate often conducting the meetings. Before
Rome was an empire, it was a republic with a long history of democratic rule. After ousting the
Etruscans and their king, city state was ruled by a Senate and/or an assembly with elected

The speaking order was similar to that of the seating arrangement, in which the princeps senatus
held the first chair, followed by the consuls, censors, praetors, aediles, tribunes and finally, the

employed. Among these, the practice of the filibuster, or speaking at incredible lengths to derail
the opposition and delay voting, was a popular one. Voting in the Senate could be taken by voice
or show of hands in unimportant matters, but important or formal motions were decided by a
quorum, or an actual physical division of the house to either side of the floor. In these cases even
non voting members were allowed to take places on either side of the issue, lending their support to

My Economist Scholarship Essay
I vividly recall proudly paying the well spent, five dollar entrance fee to see my shy nephew,
Etienne (Etti for short), with his newly assembled basketball team playing their first game of the
season. In tow, I kept my Economist magazine well fittingly folded on an article about young
Kurds adopting the game of basketball snuggly tucked into my left back pocket of my jeans. For a
number of years now, the Economisthas validated itself to be more than just a faithful subway
companion and exceptional read, but it has actually been inspirational through some of the most
difficult times of my adult life.
The world renowned magazine provides concise, yet insightful articles pertaining to economic,

no individual should ever have to endure. She was raped. Despite such a terribly heinous,

Higher education managers should spend more time focusing on the significance of the system s
parts. Managers must not leave out unpleasant interactions that can transpire between the different
system parts (Birnbaum, 1988). For example, employees can have a tremendous amount of skill but
if they are ineffective at managing relationships with their fellow employees then there may be an
increased potential for conflict. This can create obstacle that can make it very difficult to work
together cohesively.
Strategic Planning
The composition of many different departmental strategies makes up the single organization wide
strategic plan. Top higher education administrators are responsible for the overall strategic plan but
the deans and managers are responsible for creating solid departmental strategies that are crucial to
the strategic plan and implementation effort. Higher education institutions are beginning to adopt
the successful practices that are used by profit based businesses. Following are five strategy making
and implementation process tasks that managers are responsible for:
1.Forming a strategic vision that forecasts the institutions future appearance and also its direction.
2.Making Objectives.
3.Creating a strategy to achieve certain outcomes.
4.Effectively carry out the selected strategy.

Bottega Veneta Essay
Bottega Veneta was established in 1966 by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro in Vicenza. The
name Bottega Veneta means Venetian shop in Italian. Bottega Veneta prided themselves on
craftsmanship. They developed a leather weaving technique called intrecciato that remains a
signature of the brand. In the beginning of the 1970s, Bottega Venetabuilt its reputation around the
irreproachable quality of their work and advertising with the tag line When your own initials are

Organizational Leadership Course Analysis
The Organizational course at Concordia University Portland successfully helps individuals
internalize the concepts related to organizational development while guiding one make ethical
and moral decisions as a leader. Through completion of this course, one will come to the
realization that being a successful leader occurs through acquisition of certain traits. Individuals
that are not fully equipped to successfully lead cannot expect to lead effectively. Fullan (2011)
lists the seven qualities of change leaders in his book as; someone who actively participates, is
resolute, who motivates, collaborates, a learner, uses data correctly, and keeps it simple. All those
qualities are important in being an effective leader, however possessing all of those qualities
requires one to be a leader who practices different leadershipstyles. As a rising leader it is ones
duty to make sure that their team feels supported by them. The effective change leader actively

situations.
A leader must be aware that their leadership decisions will affect those who they meet and lead

Impact Of The Beatles And Frank Zappa
Cultural Impact Of The Beatles And Frank Zappa
In my thesis I would like to discuss both the Beatles and Frank Zappa and their cultural and
political impact on the Anglosphere. What the Beatles and Frank Zappa have meant for the people
during their musical career? What was their cultural legacy?
The Beatles are generally considered to be the best band in the history of popular music. This is
mainly due to the influence they had on other bands and musicians all over the world such as Billy
Joel, Nirvana, Oasis and many other. Songs with a similar style and sounding became known as
beatlesque.
Their influence was the strongest in the sixties during their active career an d during so called

It wasn t until the late 80 s when the Parents Music Resource Centre (PMRC) attempted to censor
controversial music by putting a warning label on them. Zappa, knowing that this would affect

Even though he wasn t completely successful and some and some form of Parental Advisory
labels were introduced, we could argue that his political activism spared music from required
stricter labelling similar to video games TV media.

Balzac And The Little Chinese Seamstress Character Analysis
Authors are often considered the voice of the people and through their words, stories can be
remembered for years or even centuries. Some of them risk their lives so that the voices of
millions of people can be heard hoping their literary work would inspire change and bring relief.
They choose to record the atrocities and injustices happening before their eyes because they feel
a moral obligation to capture every moment so that they are not forgotten by society. Dai Sijie
writer of Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress in his book narrates the story of two
privileged friends whose parents were considered enemies of the state because they were educated
professionals. Sijie himself was re educated in the 70s in a village very similar to the one his...

Disney Negative Image
Some Disney Films Portray a Negative Image on Kids Lives in Today s World
I.Introduction
a.The image that Disney s films portray their stories is a very powerful product that can influence
our kids in a negative way.
b.One example of this is the film The Princess and the Frog. In this movie, we can see that an
African American girl named Tiana lived poor in the 1920 s. The plot of this story is that this poor
girl wanted to finish the dream of her father, which is to create a restaurant.
c.Like most of Disney s movies, the damsel in distress ends up marrying the prince charming,
resolving all her social and economic problems. This kind of message to a little girl can create a
wrong image of what her life should be like. Therefore, it portrays a negative influence in a young
girl life.
d.THESIS STATEMENT: Disney films create a fantasy world that young audience capture as an
example of how life should be. This creates an issue, because it teaches kids that money is the
solution for all problems by selling your dignity, they also teach that hard work is not enough in
order to accomplish your dreams, and they also label the difference in social status.
II.BODY ONE
a.Disney films create a fantasy world, which misleads kids imagination of how the real world
should be lived.
b.In most of the Disney films, money is a factor to save the lives of the main characters. This was
not the exception in the film The Princess and the Frog.
1.As part of her solution, Tiana has to kiss the frog, which is a prince and in return he would give
her money to by the old mill. She ends up giving him the kiss for the money he promised.
2.Even though this scene seems harmless, this is an example of how Disney films are portraying a
negative influence on how a girl sells herself to get the money she needs.
3.The message here is that it is acceptable to sell your dignity for money in return for what you
need.
4.For younger kids this can be an example of how to acquire things in life.
III.BODY TWO
a.In this film, they also teach that hard work is not enough in order to accomplish your dreams.
1.Throughout the film, Tiana is depicted to be a hard worker. She is also portrayed following the
values her parents taught her.
2.

It is one of the stereotyping that seems fascinating for most of Saudi people. Although multitasking has positive effects, it has negative consequences. To be more specific, multitaskingconsists of productive and powerless situations that has relationship between multitasking and health. One of the significant benefit from multitasking is the enjoyment. People who seek different activities to express relaxation find multitasking is the energetic solution to get satisfaction. • 3. Food Labeling Introduction There once was a time where words like light and low fat on food packages that had no nutritional meaning. As a result, shoppers were often led to believe they were buying products that were more helpful than they really were. Nutrition panels on labels were also confusing and hard to read. But the Australia New Zealand Authority (ANZFA) changed all that. In March 2001 the ANZFA defined new standardized terms that appear on food labels such as low fat , reduced and lean to control how food manufacturers could put their facts that are relevant to most of our dietary needs. This meaning that food labeling helps consumers to make the best possible food choice. What is a food label? What is on a food label? A... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Conclusion With all the information that I have collected about food labeling, all of them had negative thoughts about the legal standard terms. I believe that the newly resolved problem with the food labeling standard terms need to get more recognition because in the future consumers wont have to fight any more for information to help them choose the foods they want and eat in a healthy diet. • 4. The Importance Of A Musician And A Fine Artist Two careers that the Focus 2 Assessment claims would be a satisfactory fit for me include a musician and a fine artist. For both of these occupations, I would be more than willing to deliberate about taking up either of them in the future, taking into consideration that I am currently a performing musician. I also have plentiful experience in the visual arts as well, so I could imagine being a fine artist as well. Both jobs include doing things I enjoy to a great extent. A musician is an individual who typically plays an instrument, but numerous musicians may also compose music, direct ensembles, or teach. Demand in musician positions is expected to grow by about 5% until 2022, which is slower than the average growth for other occupations. Musicians need continuous training to maintain skills, knowledge, and the ability to interpret music. Much of this training can be achieved through colleges, universities, and musical conservatories. Typically, this training culminates in a variety of bachelor degrees, including Music Education, Music Performance, and Music Business. Participation in some sort of musical ensemble is pertinent while studying to become a musician. Skills that are typically required of musicians include troubleshooting, experience in the performing arts, manual dexterity, managing time, listening, and decision making. The salary for musicians is typically around $45,000 a year. However, this can vary between musicians due to short term contracts or working ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The core belief of Islam is that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad (S.A.W) is the last prophet of God. The concept of worship in Islam is a general concept which meets all the good in religion and life. The truth of worship is all said and works that appeal to Allahand you are satisfied. The Muslim in life knows that he is a true servant of Allah and obeying Allah seeks to fulfill and to avoid what banned in all things, in life and religion and because it is his honor to be his servant (Von Grunebaum, 2013). The Abrahamic religions are monotheistic faiths that recognize spiritual identification with Abraham. Islam, Christianity and Judaism share the patriarch Abraham. Although the three monotheistic religions: Jews, Christians and Muslims are Abrahamic religions, because they come from the patriarch Abraham, is only in Islam where the Eid El Adja, or feast of sacrifice; where the Prophet Abraham is the protagonist, is celebrated with great splendor. The Jews are considered the descendants of Abraham, who was devoted to the service of the one God, creator of heaven and earth. This God demands righteousness and justice. Abraham s belief was an ethical monotheism. His descendants were to spread that belief and remain faithful to the covenant with God. God would watch in his favor and give them a possession the Holy Land. All families of the earth could participate in this Alliance. Muslims, followers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One can t help but admire the structure of the grand stage bordered by big curtains and several seats all facing you. Theatre is my passion and acting is pretty fun as well. Congestive Heart Failure Congestive Heart Failure Toni Belsito Brookdale Community College HESC 105 Medical Terminology Congestive Heart Failure Congestive heart hailure, also known as CHF or heart failure, affects the lives of 5 million Americans each year with 550,000 new cases diagnosed yearly. (Emory healthcare, 2013) CHF is a medical condition in which the heart has become weak and cannot pump enough blood to meet the need for oxygen rich blood required by the vital organs of the body, less blood is pumped out of the heart to the organs and tissues in the body and pressure in the heart increases, it does not mean the heart has stopped working. The physician will order lab tests such as electrolyte panel, creatinine and albumin levels to determine if there are any abnormalities with the liver and kidney functions, a chest x ray may be performed to determine if the heart is enlarged and an Electrocardiogram to see if the patient has ventricle thickening, abnormal heart rhythm or even a heart attack. Once these tests have been completed the physician may order a MUGA scan or cardiac catheterization to determine the patient ejection fraction or EF, but most common practice is to order an echocardiogram, which is less invasive, to determine the ejection fraction. (Association, American Heart, 2013) Ejection fraction, usually stated as a percentage, determines how well the heart pumps with each beat. A normal heart will pump a little more than half the heart s blood volume with each beat. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), measures the amount of blood pumped out of the left ventricle of the heart with each contraction. Right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF), measures the amount of blood pumped out of the right side of the heart to the lungs for oxygen. A normal EF ranges from 55 77% and will be lower when the heart muscle has been damaged by cardiomyopathy, heart attack or other disease that have weakened the heart muscle. Because of this, bones become weak and may break from a fall, or worse, break from sneezing or minor bumps (National Osteoporosis Foundation). Osteoporosis means porous bone . A healthy bone under a microscope looks like a honeycomb, when osteoporosisis taking place, the holes and spaces in the honeycomb are much larger than in the healthy bone. • 10. How Did Lenin s Use Of Power Despite having other methods of control such as: Lenin s power and the soviet constitution, the Bolshevik leadership s main method of control was terror. Although this was the main method of control the Bolshevik leadership only had a certain degree of control over the party that was not great between 1917, when the party seized power to 1924, when the soviet constitution was established. Bolshevik use of terror enabelled the leadership to reinforce their hold over the party. This was due to Cheka; Lenin s secret police who were formed in 1917. Their role was to deal with counter revolution, sabotage and speculation. This was important to avoid opposition in the party; increasing the strength of leadership. To create a wider use of terror in 1922 Cheka was replaced with the OGPU, which made arrests and tourtiГЁre more bureaucratic and discreet. Equal pay and opportunity has been fought for, for many years. But can the workforce really be equal if the women do not do their part to strive and stay in work? In Sheryl Sandberg s Ted Talk Why We Have Too Few Women Leaders she discusses the topic of how women can rise to the top and become leaders in the world by staying in their line of work. She explains that although equality for women has progressed, leadership positions often lack femaleoccupants. (Sandberg, 2010, page 12) She backs her statements using logos as she goes farther into detail by sharing statistical data. Sandberg gives three fairly simple... There has been many times where I left a test or showcase tournament knowing I failed to do the best I could when in doubt I did just fine. I believe this to tie into an underlying self esteem issue women face. According to Colleen Slaughter (2016), In a KPMG Women s Leadership study, 67% of women said they needed more support building confidence to feel like they can be leaders. This statistic shows that women lack the self confidence to sit at the table . In order for women to become top leaders in industries they must first find their confidence within themselves. As Sandberg begins to discuss her second rule, make your partner a real partner, there are many obstacles that one could face which might make following them impractical. She also neglects the fact the some households differ. In her Ted Talk, one can come to the conclusion that she is advertising to the families that have a mom and a dad. In fact Sandberg specifically states (2010, page), If a woman and a man work full time and have a child, the woman does twice the amount of housework the man does, and the woman does three times the amount of childcare the man does. Sandberg fails to include a version of rule number two that would be attainable for nonheterosexual woman as well as single parents. According to Gretchen Livingston (2014), ... Considering the affectability and the harm that can be created by cybercrimes, this is an effort to examine the different digital dangers and routines used to mitigate them. Firstly, the paper will highlight cloud utilization according to different service models (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) and the potential dangers that are pertinent to these service models. Next, it highlights the commercial industries that are generally attacked. Lastly, we propose a complete five stage model to relieve cybercrime. It begins with disinfecting the client s PC, usage of security amid transmission and closures with the information present in the cloud. Sticking to the proposed model, cybercrime may be controlled up to 90%. Instead of the five stage model, some companies frequently rely upon replicating the information. Leadership, to me, is not necessarily always equated with a formal title, but rather it is characterized by the attitude, behavior, mindset, and actions of a person. • 14. Growing Number of Electric Power Grids The existing electric power grids face new challenges with the growing economies that are dependent on electricity. These challenges put the ability of the current electric power grids at risks of being able to deliver efficient, reliable and clean power energy to meet the demand of the growing economies. The reliability of the existing electric power girds during peak load conditions is ensured mainly by having excessive power capacity in the whole system [1]. Excessive power capacity necessitates turning on peaker plants which are environmentally unfriendly and also expensive. Conversely, when the average demand is much lower than the peak load, then the need for energy storage becomes a necessity. A key solution to the energy storage and wastage problems is offered by renewable energy sources; however, their integration with the existing grids comes with a set of barriers such as the intermittency of generation and the high level of distribution of the sources and the lack of proven distribution control algorithms to manage such a highly distributed generation base [2]. In such situation, the use of communication and information technologies is attractive to match the demand to the available supply and dramatically improve performance and efficiency. A smart grid is an intelligent electricity network that integrates the actions of all users connected to it and makes use of advanced information, control, and communications technologies to save energy, reduce cost and ... • 16. The Hebrew Bible, By Marc Zvi Brettler How To Read The Jewish Bible, authored by Biblical scholar, and professor, Marc Zvi Brettler, is an enlightening text, guiding people towards studying the Hebrew Scriptures purposefully. Brettler (2005) reveals his book provides a response to the frustration many readers hold towards the Hebrew Bible, with the conventional tendency of filtering it through the lens of present day culture. Generally, he argues, as a result, this leads one to misconstrue passages or arrive at the definitive conclusion the Bibleholds no relevant value within our contemporary era and therefore, should collect dust. Brettler s goal of guiding readers toward an appreciation and understanding of the purpose in utilizing the historical critical study practice is well laid out as a foundation to the book. By prioritizing the first four chapters as he did, Brettler sets the tone of how one should survey the Scriptures for the greatest illumination. From the start, he outlines what the historical critical method is in theory and practice, which dispels the assumption every reader holds a familiarity with it. Clarity comes alongside the resolution that applying the historical critical method to the Scriptures does not set out to destroy the Hebrew Bible s importance. Rather it lends an unbiased avenue to read these religious texts in a compelling way, bringing understanding in a multifaceted fashion as opposed to one dimensional, conclusive outcomes. Approaching the Scriptures from a Jewish viewpoint, as discussed in class, is well supported in Brettler s book. Through his preparatory teaching on what the Hebrew Bible in itself is, and how one should read it, a ground is laid. Explaining the difference between the Christian Bible and Hebrew Bible is a vital inclusion. The Christian Bible passages, called the Old Testament, are read with the belief that they lead into the New Testament. The Hebrew Bible does contain a New Testament, so one would not read it within the same frame of reference. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Are there any price related issues that can adversely affect the firm? Price Wars Coca Cola needs to consider the risk of price wars if this technology is introduced because the ability to discount prices so easily could cause competitors to continually lower prices, specifically at holidays. Price Discrimination: This means, selling the same good to different groups of buyers at different prices . Price discrimination is used most through the internet because it so much easier to change prices and know information about the consumers buying behaviors so they can raise or lower the price accordingly meaning that they are not sacrificing profits but increasing economic efficiency. Therefore with Coke, those consumers that drink on hot days will be worse of since they have to pay a higher price, while those that drink on cold days will be better of. Consequently, sales in hotter countries could decrease as a result of charging high prices. It will only be a success if the difference between prices are not explicitly known. FSW is a well known method in material sciences and ANN in computer science. The aim is to combine these two approaches to get some important results. Friction stir welding (FSW) is a novel method of joining materials in solid state. It was invented by the Welding Institute (TWI) in 1991. It was initially applied for joining aluminium and later expanded its domain for joining similar and dissimilar alloys. Basically in FSW a specially designed rotating cylindrical tool that comprises of shoulder and pin is used. The pin of the rotating tool is plunged into the sheet material and the shoulder comes into contact with the surface of sheet, and then traverses in the desired direction. The contact between the rotating tool and the sheet generate heat which softens the material below the melting point and with the stirring caused by the pin, the material within the processed zone undergoes intense plastic deformation yielding a dynamically recrystallized fine grain microstructure. The Prologue is spoken by a woman with strong opinions on how married life should be conducted, but is written by a man. It is important to examine the purpose with which Chaucer wrote it. This is especially so as many of the pilgrims in The Canterbury Tales condemn themselves out of their own mouths, such as the Monk and the Friar. The Wife does not pretend to better behaviour, nor does she accuse anyone else of sinning, and so we cannot accuse her of hypocrisy. In contrast, the Monk and Friar [good] are clearly the targets of irony, as they do not seem to be aware of the contradictions in their arguments. The Wife s contradictions are so staggering and frequent: confusing bigamy with remarriage, using God s commandment to go forth and multiply although she is childless, and especially, her frank admission that in previous showdowns with her old husbands, al was false that she accused them of. Instrumentation is concerned a lack of consistency in the measuring instrument that could account for invalid results of a research study. This threat is most likely to occur when two different forms are used for the pre and post tests or if the instrument is constructed poorly. (Creswell, 2009). Mortality can occur if research participants drop out of the study before completion. This problem is more likely to occur if participants are volunteers or if the sample group is too small (Creswell, 2009). Statistical regression is the tendency of participants who score high on a pretest to score lower (or closer to the mean) on the posttest and consequently, participants who score low on a pretest tend to score higher on the posttest. This regression may significantly influence the distribution of scores. Finally, differential selection can occur if already formed groups are used in a study as the groups may have had existing differences from the beginning. For example, the subjects in each group may have extreme age differences or educational backgrounds. As a result, any differences found at the posttest may be due to these differential selection differences rather than being due to the independent variable. Although, while I was reading these novels, I may not have appreciated them at the time. Just like all books, these two books carried important information and experiences that readers can learn from. This action would be a demonstration of breaking each other s trust. They remained strong throughout all the accusations and trusted each nonetheless of other people s judgement. So really, both of these novels perfectly represented the theme of trust in a way that it is held and broken. Another important theme worth mentioning that A Separate Peace and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time had in common was bravery, or perhaps courage. This astonishing and constantly increasing amount of people threatens our planet s limited resources. It is times like these that make me nostalgic for the feudal ages, where large populations of people were decimated by illnesses such as the plague. The advances in modern medicine today, while extremely impressive, are ultimately extremely detrimental to the humanpopulationas a whole because they surprisingly help prevent people from dying. How dare they! Humans are starting to get a better quality of life due to the many advances in medical technology and knowledge, but at what cost? People won t die! The question is, why should we, as a society, try to prevent people from dying when it s inevitable? In the animal kingdom, it s everyone for themselves, or survival of the fittest. If people are too weak to fight off an illness, or too stupid to find a way to stay alive, then they should die. There have been many other extremely knowledgeable humans who agree that eventually, the earth s carrying capacity will no longer be able to keep up with population growth, and civilization will end unless large swaths of human beings are killed, so the question is: How do we want to do this? In a very credible and well esteemed publication, Dr. Edwin Peters, a Cambridge University ecologist followed up this statement by asking a critical question: Do we want to give ... • 55. Disney Negative Image Some Disney Films Portray a Negative Image on Kids Lives in Today s World I.Introduction a.The image that Disney s films portray their stories is a very powerful product that can influence our kids in a negative way. b.One example of this is the film The Princess and the Frog. In this movie, we can see that an African American girl named Tiana lived poor in the 1920 s. The plot of this story is that this poor girl wanted to finish the dream of her father, which is to create a restaurant. c.Like most of Disney s movies, the damsel in distress ends up marrying the prince charming, resolving all her social and economic problems. This kind of message to a little girl can create a wrong image of what her life should be like.
