people and rich? Since the rich has more money which leads to a bigger variety of selections and
the poor and common peoples did not, what are the reasons for this outcome? Just like today, food
mannerisms and culinary practices are still quite alike to the Elizabethan Era. For example, they
washed their hands thoroughly before eating and they ate 3 meals a day, breakfast in the early
morning, dinner/lunch at midday and supper during the evening. Just like how there are some

In the past women were seen as nothing more than child bearers and housekeepers, only worthy
of being their husband s servants, unable to be financially independent. However, due to factors
such as the progression of time and the urbanisation of cities it is no longer the case. Cities are
relatively large, dense and permanent human settlements , they also referred to as towns, urban
agglomerations or urban settlements (Beall Fox, 2009: 7). Urbanisation can most simply be
defined as the process of becoming more modernised or urbanised. Because cities are more
modernised than rural areas, cities are then seen as great points for accessing opportunities that

Stephen King s The Boogeyman was my favorite piece of gothic literature that we read. I was
trying to figure the story out all the way until the end and had to re read some of it to fully
understand. It was suspenseful, scary, but also had a good story to listen to. The Boogeyman was
full of gloomy settings, monsters, characters in distress, and intense emotions. These 4 things are
just a couple elements that make up gothic literature.
The first element of gothic literature that I noticed in The Boogeyman was the gloomy setting.
The way the man described his house was chilling. He made it sound cold, haunted, and all
around gave the house a bad vibe. He says, I heard a noise in there one night. And then she
screamed. I opened the door real quick the hall light was on and. . . she was sitting up in the crib
crying and. . . something moved. Back in the shadows, by the closet. Something slithered. Here he
is talking about his own daughter s room and how something was in there and he did nothing. I
couldn t believe that, his own child was in distress and he was too full of pride to admit to his wife
that he wanted to protect or baby their child. Her room was described as creepy enough without the
monster. The gloomy setting helps show that this is gothic literature.

Garrett Narrative
Kevin and his friend Garret were driving to their cabin in lower Georgia
Kevin screamed Watch out Garret had served out of the way and landed in the ditch. There were
bird feathers everywhere. Garrett and Kevin had wandered around to find the bird but couldn t.
They walk for a good hour before the found the bird and by now it was very dark out but it was
only 1:00 PM. Garrett looked up in the sky and screamed.

They good things was is that they didn t go in the gun store. They both raced out of the car and
down to the gun store. Since Garrett was faster he was there first with Kevin just behind him.
Kevin shook the door and it popped open which was weird because he thought for sure it would

The Vietnam war lasted from 1955 to 1975. Many Vietnamese and American lives were lost
during this war. The American society was split during this time, there were two different groups.
People who supported the war at this time were referred to hawks. The other people, which

everything thereby implementing a person centered approach. This is a way of organising and

The Puritans were one of the first Europeans who settled in the North America. These settlers
were influenced heavily by the church and Christian beliefs. Through The Crucible written by
Arthur Miller, the readers could see how the Puritans reveal their strict beliefs in their lifestyle.
Among those beliefs, the idea of unforgiven sins and the presence of the Devil in the community
negatively affected the Puritans that caused the massacre at the Salem Village, Massachusetts in
