Cursive Writing Observation
my observation at W.G. Pearson Elementary School, they took out cursive writing. So the teacher
found a way to incorporate writing in cursive. When I heard that I was thinking, how is that child
able to sign the paper, understand the doctor handwriting, or even sign packages. Most places do
not accept writingtheir names in print. Now looking back, I am grateful for learning how to write
in cursive. Even thought cursive handwriting is hard, it is a different language. I am very
appreciated for learning how to write in cursive. The third strategy that Mrs. Harriott users are
interacting her students with her special needs students. Many students in her class do not know
which child is special needs. They look normal like a regular child. When

The Problem Of Complacency Is Really One Of The Major...
Complacency is definitely one of the major reasons realistic training has suffered over the last
few years. Multiple deployments, sometimes to the same area of operations, has fostered a laid
back approach to unit s road to war training. Even rotations to the Joint Readiness Training Center
(JRTC) incorporated similar scenarios that don t require too much complex thinking on behalf of
the unit. In the last year JRTC has started focusing more on the DATE scenario in preparation for
future conflicts. Units need to develop a training program to fill the gap between RL progression
and deployments or CTC rotations.
I think you bring up some good points regarding real life experience being a factor in realistic
training. As we get closer to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Realistic training should start by researching the enemy we will be facing. Once the capabilities of
your enemy has been defined, planning on how to successfully defeat their technology can be
accomplished. Once a plan is developed units can begin conducting collective training starting with
the classroom and eventually building up to simulators and finally operations in the aircraft. Most
Divisions usually conduct a culminating training event every year, communicating your training
objectives to the ground unit can help to build your unit s proficiency.
Week 5 Discussion Board: Tactics Discuss the importance of realistic tactics training
In the Army we say train as you fight , this concept has been a building block for all soldiers to
follow since basic training. In some units, this concept has been ignored as multiple deployments to
the same theater has brought about a sense of complacency in the ranks. As the focus of the Army
is shifting towards a hybrid threat and we will inevitably be facing a more complex skilled enemy
with far better equipment, our approach to training needs to be re thought.
Leaders at all levels have the responsibility to ensure their subordinates are as prepared as they can
be going into a deployment. An organized training plan consisting of some individual tasks building
up to mission tasks at all echelon

The Debate Over Stem Cells And Cloning
Abstract Stem cells and cloning are very controversial today. There are debates and arguments
about it all over the internet. The idea of stem cells is to use them to help cure and prevent
diseases. You can use embryonic and adult stem cells. That s one of the reasons people argue
about it, because it kills the potential life of the embryo. [Stem Cells and Cloning] Stem cells
and cloning is very controversial in today s society. Some people believe it s not a good idea
because it destroys embryos (Thomas Berg, 2006). On the other hand, some believe that the goal is
to turn some of these in to embryonic stem cells that would be a perfect genetic match to a sick
patient. (Julia Cort, 2006). Unique properties... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) are generated by transferring cells from a preimplantation
stage embryo into a plastic laboratory culture dish that contains a nutrient broth known as
culture medium. Both types of cells have advantages and disadvantages when being used for
cell based regenerative therapies. One major difference between adult and embryonic stem cells
is their different abilities in the number and type of differentiated cell types they can become.
Embryonic stem cells can become all cell types of the body because they are pluripotent. Adult
stem cells are thought to be limited to differentiating into different cell types of their tissue of
origin (National Institutions of health, 2016). Current sources There are three different places
you can find embryonic cells: cell lines that exist already, left over from fertility treatment, and
making custom ones by somatic cell nuclear transfer. Potential uses in biomedical research Julia
Cort (2006) says The Jaenisch team set out to eliminate that potential. First, they took a tiny bit
of skin from a mouse s tail and let it grow in culture. With the skin cells growing in a Petri dish,
Meissner concocted a special virus and added it to the skin cells. The virus went to work and
inserted an extra bit of DNA into the skin cell DNA. Meissner performed the cloning, sucking up a
skin cell now containing the extra DNA and transferring it into a mouse egg. And then the team
waited and

Personal Vehicle Observation Report
On June 25, 2015, my personal vehicle was damaged while I attended Trivia Night at R Macs
Tavern between the hours of 2100 and 0000 that evening. The tavern is located at 110 White
Horse Pike in Oaklyn, NJ and my vehicle was parked legally and unattended in the parking lot
when the incident occurred. The damage to my vehicle s driver s side front fender (crushed) and
side mirror (broken) was noticed the next morning in the daylight before reporting to day patrol.
During the morning hours, I recalled that I parked under one of the business outside security
cameras. I placed a call to the tavern and spoke to Jack Fister, the morning maintenance person.
Jack informed me that the security system is very antiquated and would work sporadically,
however he would check. A short time later, Jack called and related that he observed three males in
their early twenties horse playing next to my truck. While... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I chose Elmer s based upon previous vehicle repair and that the facility is extremely close to my
residence. The estimate was written by Don C. for $1533.73 as attached. At 0900 hours, I met
with Byron in front of his residence with my vehicle and gave him a copy of the estimate. I
informed Byron the repairs were going to take 5 7 days and that I was not seeking a rental car.
Bryon briefly looked over the estimate, agreed to the cost and related that he needed a week to
gather his portion ($500.00) of the total cost. I also informed Byron that once all the funds were
collected between his friends, to take the funds to Elmer s. Approximately one hour later, I
received a call from Don, the co owner of Elmer s. Don related that Linda Sheehan (co owner)
received a call from Byron. During this call, Byron used foul language and screamed at Linda,
questioning the cost of the repairs. Don then took over the called and received the same treatment. I

Compare And Contrast Capitalism And Capitalism
The issue I intend to research is a critical evaluation of capitalism and free markets versus
socialism and Keynesian economics. In the twentieth century every human civilization was
shaken not just by the aftermath of a worldwide war, but by a political rift without equal. This
last concerns the best possible part and elements of government a subject of critical significance
the welfare of all humankind. No other worldwide issue has ever created so profound and
troublesome rupture in popular supposition at high cost to human life. The issue is, figuratively,
regardless of whether an individual possesses himself and the rewards for his labor and mind or
whether he is claimed by the collective and is born accordingly obligated. In other words, regardless
of whether the collective or government should take the chief part in the exercises of the group and
control with omnipotent powers the developments and welfare of the individuals, or whether it
might stand separated from the battle, mediating upon its issues, ensuring reasonable equity to all,
and safeguarding the tenets of fair play. That is to say, whether the administration should take upon
itself the power and elements of the old fashioned slave proprietor, or should leave the society free
to get themselves straightened out into entrepreneur and worker, while the collective government
goes about as the judge, ready in the communal interest to exert physical and financial force against
the individual. This

ascertain if there is value in the acquisition of Southern Comfort. These methods all yield the
same result, i.e. Southern Comfort is expensive at the asking price of $94.6million. The valuation
methods also examined the reasonableness of the acquisition using methods such as Free

present BF product mix line offerings and brand equity. Besides, SC has strengthened channels

in the same product line. Because SC is not aggressively marketed and that it is wrongly

could add a lot of vale to BF too. SC also has a well reputable brand offering and the management

of management philosophy. SC also has modern equipment which is an asset that could strengthen
the asset base of BF and could be used in the continued production of SC without replenishing the
asset in the foreseeable future and/or tries to adopt the production of SC to BF product line

Introduction
Standards need to be set in order to handle current capabilities and handle the demands of what is
to come. Standards that come with radio communication have been around for a while and one
of those standards includes Public safety radio services. This standard was created for a given
scenario were the government would have to send out a message to inform the public. Any
agencies that deal with public safety are required to meet this standard. You may here these
messages come across the radio in states of emergency and see tests on your television. This
standard is known as SO 04 005 for communications involving radio. The standard has to meet all
of the ANSI/TIA/EIA 102 standards, also has to have the capability of using the existing 800 MHz
bandwidth, and has to work with interface devices that are present know and to come in the future.
This paper will cover ANSI/TIA/EIA 102 standards that are to meet. Section 1 will discuss the Open
Systems Intercommunication (OSI) model for communication systems. Section 2 will look at
Analog to Digital Converters for transmission and reception using digital communication. Section 3
will include modulation standards. Section 4 will contain linking and Section 5 encryption

Martin Luther Splintering Of Religion
Divine grace was a particularly prominent concern in sixteenth century Europe, it prompted the
splintering of Christendom and was therefore responsible in large part for the subsequent violence.
With the extensive conflict motivated by debates over the delivery of divine grace, it comes as no
surprise that leading figures of the era harbored vastly differing opinions on the subject. Martin
Luther, John Fisher, and Hans Staden, drawing from the exact same source material, came to
drastically different conclusions regarding the bestowment, acceptance, and discovery of divine
grace. Martin Luther s personal interpretation of divine grace differed so greatly from that of other
christians that it facilitated the splintering of a religion. Luther s influential interpretation was
formed on the basis of two claims made by St. Paul in his Letter to the Romans. First, a justified
Christian lives by faith alone, and second Christ is the end and the fulfillment of all commandments
for those who believe in Him, (Luther 22). Luther interpreted St. Paul s words to mean that divine
grace is bestowed through faith, that Faith... will abundantly justify those who have it, such that
they require nothing more to be righteous and pious, (Luther 22). The idea of being saved through
nothing but faith resonated with Luther, a man obsessed with his own repentance, to the point that
he visited confession several times daily (Smith). The inherent nature of faith, as Luther viewed it,
was quite

Abstract
The purpose of this report is to choose a city from a southern California County and recognized
possible types of business that could attract interest from the locals. The city of choice is Santa Ana
because of its location, population density and business district. Santa Ana being the second largest
city of the county offers many opportunity for the errand service business to grow and expand.

Seaworld And The Seaworld Corporation

SeaWorld of Hurt For thousands of years orcas, or killer whales, roamed the oceans in peace.
Untouched by human hands until the freedom of some had to come to an end. The SeaWorld
corporation captured multiple wild orcas until they were banned from almost every body of water.
Since then, they have bred and shipped orcas between each of their parks around the world.
However, this act did not go unnoticed. Animal rights activists have expressed their feelings on the
inhumane living conditions of these majestic creatures and they have not and will not back down.
Without hesitation, the SeaWorldcorporation made many claims as to how their animals in

Not only that, but orcas swim up to 100 miles a day (Bradford). With that being said, captive
orcas live in a concrete pool where they are barely able to swim comfortably. They are also
forced to live with orcas that may not share the same culture/pod as them which leads to
aggression, injuries, and sometimes even death. Dominance is a key factor in an orca society and
having more than one dominant orca in a small area where they cannot distance themselves can
cause a future of lashing out (Caperthwaite). Unlike SeaWorld corporation officials may lead one
to believe, captive orcas are less safe than wild orcas.
SeaWorld is home to 22 orcas between its three parks and six at Loro Parque in Spain (WDC).
Tilikum, the male orca responsible for most of the newborns in SeaWorld s captivity, The Fate of
Captivewas the most talked about orca. Not only was he one of the largest, but he was responsible
for the death of three people (Cowperthwaite). Most of the young orcas inhabiting the three parks
are direct offspring from Tilikum due to artificial insemination. The SeaWorld breeding program,
which has recently come to an end, was another factor protestors were taking into account when
declaring the corporation inhumane. Another is Kasatka, one of the oldest female orcas and is
considered the matriarch of the San Diego pod (WDC). Trainers classify Kasatka as a great

Anselm s Ontological Argument Analysis
In the Proslogion written by Anselm of Canterbury, Anselm gives his ontological argument of how
God exists. This essay explains that Anselm s argument of God s existence works. In particular, I
will show that Anselm s ontological argument makes sense by showing that the statements that
logically contribute to the existenceof God. In Anselm s ontological argument, he states that God
means something than which greater can be thought. In other words, God is whatever it is better to
be than not to be (Anselm, Proslogion, 9). This means that God is the greatest thing that can be
conceived. For if God did not exist, then something greater than God would exist. Nevertheless,
nothing is better than God can be thought, therefore, saying if God did not exist, that something
greater than God would exist. contradictions that God is the greatest thing that can be thought.
Which helps conclude that God must exist because nothing is greater than God. The ontological
argument of Anselm also includes how the idea of God exists in the mind even of the person who
denies that God exists in reality. This means that someone who doubts the existence of Godat least
knows what God is the greatest thing that can be conceived. Another premise of Anselm is that
something that exists in reality, is better than something that only exists in... Show more content on

the two arguments should triumph or fail together. Gaunilo s argument of the perfect island fails in

from each module; negotiation, mediation, policy analysis, crisis game, and speech training, can be

One important thing that I learnt from this skill is that sometimes you might not need to speak a lot
or try to speak all the time, but the important thing is that you should try to see which actor shares
the same opinion as you and whether that actor is strong enough to act on your behalf. This was
really obvious in the activity of multilateral negotiations on negotiating intervention in a civil
conflict where I played Iraq. I found that Iraq shared a lot in common with the Arab states,
especially Iran on the Syrian issues. Balancing interests in the negotiation through the Arab
countries helped Iraq protect its interests. Without speaking much, but allying very well with Iran
and balancing the interests with the Arab states, it turned out that I gained the highest score in my
group.
However, there was one thing I found quite unrealistic about this activity. That was the rule on
unanimous agreement. I do not think this can be applied in the real world situation. I think that it
would be better if we do not need to stick on this. The unanimous rule made some players concede
too much, and that did not reflect real international negotiations. The role play on Six party talks
was both fun and useful. This role play gave me a chance to practice more skills on negotiation
and chairing. This activity really showed the difficulties of negotiations on issues that are really
critical to national survival. The North Korean issue was very

Essay on Goblin Market
Victorian Themes in Imagination: Goblin Market in Relation to Romanticism
There were two principle views concerning imagination, the Victorians and the Romantics, who
didn t accept each other s ideas about imagination. But, despite their clashes on the status and views
of imagination, the Romantics and Victorians share similar ideas through different angles of
perspective, which we could assume are linked in part to their era. The long poem, named Goblin
Market, written by Christina Rossetti shows the contrast between the ideas of Romanticism and the
Victorian image of imagination while utilizing the same motifs. Goblin Market centralizes its theme
on the Victorian approach towards Imagination as being a destructive, alien force that ... Show more

Coleridge s definition of imagination consists of the imagination as the prime agent for all human
perception. However, Goblin Market is a story that completely rejects the Romantics ideals of the
imagination since it is a Victorian text. Thus, the imagination is shown as something associated
with being evil and dangerous, which compliments the Victorian ideals while criticizing the
Romantics admiration of the imagination. The initial setting of the tale dwells upon the nature
taking evil and satanic forms due to the destructive tone of the imagination that contradicts the
Romantic s policy of nature being pure and divine in any form it takes. Basically, the initial setting
of the tale takes shape with the aid of local folklore about the mysterious mythical creatures that
appear with luscious baskets of fruits. The author builds upon this folklore by distancing the
characters, such as Laura and Lizzie, from this weird folk culture by introducing the harm inflicted
by these goblins on innocent, gullible young girls. Therefore, the author has already contradicted a
central tendency of Romanticism, which is to root their stories in relation to inquisitive adventures
regarding folk culture and myths. Furthermore, the term used for these imaginative figures is
goblins, which is considered by the Oxford dictionary as a mischievous, ugly, dwarf like creature
of folklore (Oxford University). Once more, Mrs. Rossetti

Scientists and Weapons of Mass Destruction
A weapon is a thing designed or used for inflicting bodily harm or physical damage. Although, who
s the creator of a weapon that can inflict physical damage? The answer is patriotic scientists. These
scientists believe they are creating a weapon that is protecting their country and themselves.
Starting with simple weapons, people have developed with more advanced methods to kill one
another in a war or anywhere. This helps us understand that a scientist shouldn t have an obligation
to create a weapon because it causes mass destruction, sometimes turns into a failure, and affects the
environment. When we talk about weapons of mass destruction, we think of nuclear weapons.
Nuclear weapons are the most dangerous weapons on earth. An example for a nuclear weaponis an
atomic bomb called little boy and fatman, which were a gun type weapon and the implosion type.
These were the first atomic bombs dropped by United States on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Many
scientists and engineers in the Manhattan Project developed these bombs. About 140,000 deaths
were reported from the Hiroshima bombing. These innocent people were killed within seconds
from these atomic bomb created from obligated scientists. Scientists and engineers have created
something so powerful that can t be undone. For example, when a country has nuclear weapons and
wants to engage in a nuclear war, it won t because of the destruction that it has to face to gain
victory. Though, in the 21st

Research Paper On The Roaring Twenties
The Roaring Twenties The Roaring Twenties were an age of exciting and new developments
starting from The Birth of Mass Culture, The New Women, Prohibition, The Culture Civil War,
Jazz and Blue Music and The Renaissance. This age was a time of change in multiple ways, many
were more serious than others. The 1920swere an age of dramatic and political change for instance.
The 1920s brought more of a conflict than celebration to the nation, and its wealth. For the first time
in the nation s history, more Americans lived in cities than farms ( History.com Staff, The Roaring
Twenties) . Although the U.S.A. did not enter the First World War until April 1917, the conflict
cast a shadow over American society that would take a while to pass. There was a brief
economic recession at the start of the 1920s, but as the decade moves on, the economy boomed
and America began the age of consumerism. However, for many Americans, the 1920s was a
decade of poverty. More than 60 per cent of Americans lived just below the poverty line. (BCC,
The Roaring Twenties) . The U.S started the 20th century as a country with enormous potential,
and finished the century as the world s only superpower. Yet there are two ways of looking at this
powerful nation in the 1920s. Either as a wealthy country with a high standard of living, big cars
and large houses, or as a country with many people living in poverty and some enduring terrible
racism (BCC, The Roaring Twenties) . During the 1920s, many Americans

Savage Reservation In Brave New World
Both Brave New World and The Dispossessed have different takes on utopia, a place or state of
ideal perfection and excellence. However, the savage reservation in Brave New World has a lack
of government, which allows for the people there to freely decide how they would wish to live,
unlike the World State or Anarres in The Dispossessed. The World State and Anarres have
controlling governments that monitors all ideas to decide if they are considered dangerous to the
society and regulates the opinions of the people. The savage reservation in Aldous Huxleys Brave
New Worldis more utopian than both the modern World State and Ursula Le Guin s communist

People at the savage reservation are less controlled because their culture and society is less
structured due to its small size. The general leader has less to worry about when leading a small
group rather than a large population in terms of riots, wars, and revolutions, therefore major control
is unnecessary. In the World State however, the population is immense because of their method of
creating babies in test tubes. To sustain peace, happiness, and the feeling of utopia, the government
uses its control to give everyone in the same class the same opinion. This is done through
conditioning, which includes forcing babies to associate electric shocks to certain items and
hypnopædia. In the beginning of the book, the Director says The child s mind is these
suggestions, and the sum of the suggestions is the child s mind... but all these suggestions are
our suggestions! (Huxley 29) when describing why hypnopædia is used on the children as they
grow up. This quote shows how the government s opinions are forced into the entire population s
head as they grow up and that they are proud to be controlling their minds. This method may
prevent wars over different beliefs and make everyone satisfied that they are in their assigned
social class, but it also takes away individuality and freedom. Anarres is also heavily populated,
so the Odonians are taught to believe that the people on Urras are corrupt and evil to keep them
from wanting to leave Anarres or make contact with Urras. The extent of this belief is seen when
Shevek explains why he might not return from Urras by stating, Anybody outside Defense could
make explosives with blasting powder and blow up the ship on the ground. Or, more likely, attack
me once I was outside the ship. (Le Guin 378). The people of Anarres think that Urras is so
malicious that a fellow Odonian would not be

Differences Between Arcite And Palamon
In Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales he depicts a short story, The Knight s Tale , describing the
lives two young cousins named Arcite and Palamon. These two men are from the kingdom of
Thebes, which was under the rule of Creon, until it was defeated by Theseus, Duke of Athens.
Arcite and Palamon are found and brought back to Athens to be imprisoned for the remainder of
their lives. This short story depicts the tale of the fight between Arcite and Palamon over a beautiful
woman, Emily. Although, while some things are similar about them, there are also numerous
differences. In The Knight s Tale , Arcite and Palamon share the same background, lovefor Emily,

Palamon, You love a holy deity; / I love a created human being. (300 301) The cousins disagree
over if Emily should be loved as a human or worshiped as a goddess. Another difference between
them is the location in which they end up. Arcite becomes free, away from the sight of Emily,

but no way to get to her. Arcite solves his problem by sneaking into the castle as a working man
but his true identity is discovered by Palamon and they intend to duel over Emily. Before the

goddess Venus that he will win Emily s love, and Palamon prays to the god Mars that he will win
the war over Emily. In the end both of their prayers are answered, but Aricte dies shortly after the

Research Paper On Impulse Buying
Impulse Buying Behavior Definition Impulse buying can be referred to as sudden unplanned
decision to buy a product or service made specifically at the time of purchase. Rook (1987)
explains impulse buying as Impulse buying takes place when a consumer feels a sudden often
strong and insistent urge to purchase something instantly. The urge to buy is hedonically complex
and often may fuel emotional conflict. Also, impulse buying is likely to occur with reduced
concern for its consequences. Beatty Ferrell (1998) explains the concept of impulse buying by
saying that it is immediate purchase of a product without any pre shopping intentions to buy. Jeffrey
and Hodge (2007) state that, impulse buying comprises of four components: the purchase is
unplanned, it is the result of an exposure to stimulus, it is decided on the spot , and it involves an
emotional and/or cognitive reaction Explanation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, having an impulse to buy does not automatically imply acting upon it. Numerous factors
may interfere between having the impulse to buy and actual buying, (Dholakia, 2000). In truth,
individuals practice innumerable strategies to have some control on this craving (Hock and
Loewenstein, 1991). This difference has also been validated empirically. For example, Beatty
Ferrell (1998) empirically proved the compulsion to detach the impulse to buy from actual buying
behavior with the help of admirable performance of model they presented when impulse buying
was considered to be the only dependent variable. Likewise, prevailing researches (e.g. Beatty and
Ferrell, 1998) also indicate that for buying impulse the determinants may not essentially predict
impulse buying. It means that not every impulse to buy can be translated as an actual buying

Cravendale Milk Essay

World War I and elaborates on his frustration with how people protested the war. Tim O Brien is
the author of The Things They Carried, Tim served in the Vietnam War and in his writings, lists

Compare Feudalism And Manorialism
The Feudal system was developed to bring a sense of security and economic stability to medieval
Europe as the same goes to the manor system. Although by some definitions they appear to be very
alike, but there are a lot more differentiations than most assume. Feudalism and manorialism would
have characterize most of the European Middle Age. Feudalisminvolves the relationship between
landlords and upper the classes. And as Manorialism is the relationship between serf and landlord.
When describing a (one) lord, it refers to manorialism. When describing an entire middle age
society, it refers to the term feudalism.

Gender Inequality During Latin American Countries
How has gender inequality affected women in Latin American countries? Gender inequality has
affected the women of Latin America in a multitude of ways, but it can be argued that the division
of gender equality is extremely prominent when analyzing reproductive rights and health care
access. Compared to countries such as Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, Latin
Americais far behind in terms of civil rights and reproductive rights. The lack of rights is not in
question; women s barrier to reproductive health can be seen through anecdotes and statistics. The
question thus becomes, is there a definite answer to why these rights are absent? Factors
concerning the absence of reproductive rights include cultural norms and religion, but the one
that plays the biggest role remains the lack of female political leaders in Latin American
countries. What exactly is it that is keeping Latin America behind other countries in terms of
being progressive regarding reproductive rights? Women s political absence in Latin America has
shaped reproductive rights and health care services immensely. While Latin America s lack of
reproductive rights would seem to be common knowledge, many are unaware of how exactly
women in Latin American countries are affected. In a fairly large number of countries, abortion is
illegal. In regards to this, in 2008, 12 percent of maternal deaths in Latin America and the
Caribbean were due to unsafe abortions. (Mane, 2013) 95% of the abortions

American Identity In The 18th Century
Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries Americans developed a unique system of government with
revolutionary ideals never seen anywhere else before. Americans adopted representative
governments with democratic principles that allowed each person to have a voice in the decisions
about their country. This atmosphere of new ideas and new political rights fostered a growing sense
of a unique American identity not found anywhere else. By the eve of the American Revolution,
colonists had embraced a new identity completely different from their English roots that helped fuel
their resistance against Britain; however, plagued by petty disagreements and discouraged by the
large Loyalist population, the Americans were never able to effectively unite against the British.
During the early 18th century, the British government adopted a policy of salutary neglect toward
the colonies, which gave Americans freedom to develop their own political systems as long as they
followed the ideas of Mercantilism. When the first colonies were chartered in the 17th century, the
majority adopted some sort of political institution that gave voting rights to each and every man. In
the North, most citizens were able to participate in the local Town Meetings and voice their
opinions. In addition, nearly every colony had a representative assembly with elected officials.
These new political institutions that the Americans had built from the ground up, and learned to
cherish caused Americans to

The word honesty , for example, cannot exist in telling the truth only once. It is integrally related
to, practical wisdom, the whole of what a person needs in order to live well. It is also a trait of
character that is essential for leading a satisfying life. Aristotle lists justice among the virtues. A
virtuous person not only has a sense of fair treatment but can also determine what controls fairness.
The virtues are not merely means to happiness but are themselves constituents of it. Happiness does
not consist solely on what we get in life but also includes who we are and what traits are emerged

the goal of every human beings according to Aristotle, however what does happiness imply? In his

idea of such virtues. Maybe it s not as easy for some people to comprehend but happiness does not
depend on what we own; happiness comes from within. Aristotle incorporates that happiness is one
of the main purposes of human life. Virtue, which Aristotle believes that is the balance between

Congress s Powers Of The Constitution
In order for something to be broken it must have been whole to begin with, let us first discuss
what Congress used to represent and how it used to function. Most everyone knows that
Congress is bicameral and consists of two parts: The House of Representatives and The Senate.
Congress s powers are outlined in Article I of the Constitution. The framers formed two parts of
Congress so that they would balance each other out: no one branch would become too powerful
and the laws would be more complex and well thought. The Constitution had initially intended for
the legislative branch (Congress) to be the most powerful branch of government and at the
beginning of post constitution United States history it was. Congress was given the powers to
enact laws (Gateways to Democracy, pp. 388).The Framers were purposeful in making sure that
Congress represented each individual state by allowing each state to have two senators and for
the number of representatives to be dependent on the size of each state, thereby balancing out
the powers each state had in Congress (Gateways to Democracy, pp. 389). The framers made it
an even level playing field: whoever was most qualified to be elected into Congress was usually
elected. In the present day, money speaks louder than quality when it comes to elections.
Fundraising and lobbying are a problem in politics in general, but it has corrupted Congress. As

By comparing the bat s depiction during both day and night, Roethke may be trying to convey
that the bat is actually no more than a simple and peaceful being, which has been wrongly
portrayed for years. From another point of view, the author could be wanting to convey, through
the image of a bat, that everyone has a dark side . Roethke ingeniously does so in the final line of
the poem with the latter s twist metaphorical ending; when mice with wings can wear a human
face (Roethke, 10). As previously discussed, bats are usually associated with slyness and
darkness, by making the bat wear a human face , Roethke is trying to express that bats can
sometimes resemble humans and vice versa. Ultimately, humans can also sometimes wear a bat
face and have a darker side. The author also gives the poem a very descriptive tone through a
significant amount of imagery. For example, the metaphor; his fingers make a hat about his head
(Roethke, 3), provides a detailed description of the bat s upper body in such a way that the reader
is able to picture the bat as what Roethke wants him/her to picture it as. One could also infer that
the author may again be trying to make the connection between bat and man; since men wear hats
and not bats. Another metaphor would be; by day the bat is cousin to the mouse (Roethke, 1). Of
course, mouse

growth rate of the economy in the future. The United States budgetary situation has disintegrated
significantly since 2001, when the CBO ( Congressional Budget Office ) forecast average annual
surpluses of nearly $850 billion from 2009 2012. In April of 2011, it was revealed that our nation is
12.7 trillion dollars in debt which surpasses by a wide margin, the 2001 CBO forecast of a

Unless the deficit spending is allotted to purchases resulting in long term increases in real GDP,
future generations will have to endure taxation at an elevated rate. This is the only way that the
government entity will be capable of retiring the elevated public debt which has resulted from this
generation s consumption of goods, provided governmentally. Added to this dilemma, the increased
level of consumption by this same generation crowds out investment, thus a reduction of capital
goods growth is apparent, leaving future generations with insignificant capital stock and a drastic
reduction of their wealth. ( time.com) In relation to our foreign debt, future generations may be
taxed to repay this exorbitant debt plus aggregated interest however this does not have to be etched
in stone. It all depends entirely on the projects that the government funds in the future. If these
projects are of a wasteful nature our future generations may face yet another added burden. This
would also stymie the growth rate of the economy in the future. The deficit must be maintained to
ensure that the nation s economy grows with its resource position. Our nation must do everything
in its power to reduce the deficit. Economic growth is also further impaired by government
borrowing, which essentially is competing for money against the private sector. The continuance of
government borrowing is denying the U.S.

Zeus And Poseidon And Zeus
Poseidon and Zeus were enjoying the delicious smell of turkey and all the deliciousness of foods
all over the world on Mount Olympus with many other gods and goddesses. They were all having
fun and enjoying the view. The gods and goddesses were having fun except for 1, Hades. Hades the
god of the underworld was planning something.
Hades says, I wonder what would happen if I go to the living world again. With a big jump,
Hades jumped up really high and tried to make it to the living world. Many villagers went to Mount
Olympus to tell Zeus and Poseidon that their evil brother is trying to escape the underworld. Zeus
and Poseidon never had a good past with Hades. They always argued with him. Zeus and Poseidon
didn t want the villagers to be scared so they went to the village. When they arrived, they felt the
whole village shaking.
Zeus and Poseidon went to the underworld to stop Hades from leaving that wretched place. Zeus
and Poseidon saw Hades trying to escape. Hades saw his brothers and didn t want to talk to them,
so he jumped up the highest he could go and made it to the living world. Zeus and Poseidon went
up to the living world following Hades.
Zeus says, ВЁLook at you little brother. Trying to take over the world. The only thing you can do
is light a match for me.ВґВґ
Poseidon said, ВЁYeah. Try your best. Your power is like an owl eating a rat. In this case I am the
owl and you are the rat. You are useless and weak.ВґВґ Hades was as silent like a baby in its sleep.

Different Types Of Economics Within The Game Show Industry
The business that I have chosen for this project is TV Game Shows. Over the next few pages, I
will show different types of economics within the game show industry.
Cash prizes are paid by the show, and the money comes from the producers, who are paid by the
advertisers/network. There can be a couple of safeguards that make this a little easier for the shows:
They can have an insurance policy to protect them from huge losses. For example, the insurance
company says, we ve studied the odds of your game, and we ll sell you a policy for $200,000 up
front, that pays out full prize money any time someone wins $100,000 or more during this season
of the show. Obviously this is all about a smart insurance company who has studied the gameplay
and sorted out the odds of how many players will win big, but the point is that the show doesn t
have to worry about it. They can let the insurance company work it out, and the show then has a
nice fixed cost expense they can reliably drop into their production budget and not think about it.
For really big prizes ($1,000,000), shows may pay similar to a lottery, where the money is in a
fund that pays over x amount of years, or the winner can take a reduced lump sum immediately.
For example, if you were to win $1 million on a show, they might tell you (after the show is done
taping) okay! We can give you $50,000 a year for the next 20 years, or we can pay you $450,000
lump sum right now and that s all you get.
And of course,

A Short Summary On Remembering The Partridge Family
Remembering the Partridge Family There are those who either loved or ignored this show.
However The Partridge Family TV show did launch the career of teen idol David Cassidy. Since
he could show his musical talent every week it made things a lot easier for him than to have to
struggle to get himself seen and heard. This show also came along at just the right time because
the ever popular show The Monkees had gone off the air in 1968. It was time for more music
and comedy to fill the airwaves. Another thing that greatly helped The Partridge Family to gain an
audience was that the show was scheduled to fill the 8:30 PM timeslot right after The Brady
Bunch in 1970 on ABC. The inspiration for this show was a real life family act The Cowsills.

Digital Knowledge Essay
In Literacy and the digital knowledge revolution (2006), Claire Belisle refers to digital knowledge
, as a way that knowledge can be processed and transformed , by the various technological tools,
i.e. search engines, databases, sorters and linguistic analysts, that we have available (Belisle, 2006,
p57). Belisle moves in to the revouloution
Literacy believes that literacy is the basis of knowledge acquisition and, with the stronger
interaction between humans and technology and the way we acquire and interpret information and
data from the latter, digital literacy needs to be incorporated into our current literacy structure.
According to Paul Gilster, digital literacy is comprised of these four components assembling
knowledge, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Aunts Realization Of Lying
The Aunts Realization of the Positives of Lying In the story Was it Heaven or Hell by Mark
Twain it portrays the worst sin to be lying. In it a lie had no place. In it a lie was unthinkable
(Twain 29). What this quote is telling me the aunts think that lying is unacceptable they think it is
totally wrong and if you lie you go to hell. When the perfect daughter lies the aunts were furious.
They insisted on the daughter confessing. So they went to ill mother in the hospital. Tell your
mother all. Purge your soul. Leave nothing unconfessed. (Twain 31). The aunts believe that if you
tell a lie and don t confess it before you die you automatically go to hell. As the mother and
daughter s health gets worse this is when the aunts start realize

Household Design of the 1950 s
American corporate designers were learned in Modernist theory, but nevertheless found bulbous
aerodynamic bodyshells an appropriately slick garb for wares of a vigorous, efficient society
with an aggressive faith in its future. Flashy exaggeration at the hands of the stylists, ever
compelled to improve on last year s model, gave streamlining a bad name. (Hodges, Coad, Stone,
Sparke, Aldersey Williams, The New Design Source Book, 1992, p.158) Discuss in relationship
to the innovation in household designs of the 1950 s, how do these designs compare to similar
examples of today? Do designers today feel compelled to improve on last years model? American
corporate designers were learned in Modernist theory, but nevertheless found... Show more content

The consumer society of the 1950s was presented with machines such as fruit juicers, coffee
makers, vacuum cleaners and toasters that eliminated the burden of manual tasks and increased
leisure options. Designers and manufacturers continued to appeal to the consumer s aspirations,
by producing streamlined forward looking products, targeting the American dream . In the USA
the majority of people aspired for such things as a secure job in a large corporation, a house in a
nice suburb, a large family, a large car, and an array of labour saving devices. Designers and
Manufacturers targeted this new generation of homemakers and consumers.8 Hence, design
became undoubtedly linked with mass production and mass consumption. The affluence of the
decade famously summed up by British Prime Minister Harold Macmillan as having never had it
so good. 9 The consultant designers of the 1950s moved increasingly into corporate

In Washington in 1982 there was a plane crash on the pentatonic river. A man repeatedly saved
other lives in the place of his own. Rosenblatt states The odd thing is that we do not even really
believe that the man in the water lost his fight. This man had so much courage and faith to put
others lives before his. This saying, he had a plan in mind, he followed through with it, and
achieved it so he did not lose the fight, he really won, and also shared his victory with others. He
gave up everything he had to give hope to others. Rosenblatt gave another point being, When the
helicopter took off with what was to be the last survivor, he watched everything in the world move
away from him, and he deliberately let it happen. One could think he was content with what he
had done. He sacrificed himself for the life of another life. This being said, the anonymous man in
the water not only saved 5 lives with a humble heart but gave hope to

When I heard that I was thinking, how is that child able to sign the paper, understand the doctor handwriting, or even sign packages. Most places do not accept writingtheir names in print. Now looking back, I am grateful for learning how to write in cursive. Even thought cursive handwriting is hard, it is a different language. I am very appreciated for learning how to write in cursive. • 3. The Problem Of Complacency Is Really One Of The Major... Complacency is definitely one of the major reasons realistic training has suffered over the last few years. Multiple deployments, sometimes to the same area of operations, has fostered a laid back approach to unit s road to war training. Even rotations to the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) incorporated similar scenarios that don t require too much complex thinking on behalf of the unit. In the last year JRTC has started focusing more on the DATE scenario in preparation for future conflicts. Units need to develop a training program to fill the gap between RL progression and deployments or CTC rotations. I think you bring up some good points regarding real life experience being a factor in realistic training. As we get closer to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Realistic training should start by researching the enemy we will be facing. Once the capabilities of your enemy has been defined, planning on how to successfully defeat their technology can be accomplished. Once a plan is developed units can begin conducting collective training starting with the classroom and eventually building up to simulators and finally operations in the aircraft. Most Divisions usually conduct a culminating training event every year, communicating your training objectives to the ground unit can help to build your unit s proficiency. Week 5 Discussion Board: Tactics Discuss the importance of realistic tactics training In the Army we say train as you fight , this concept has been a building block for all soldiers to follow since basic training. In some units, this concept has been ignored as multiple deployments to the same theater has brought about a sense of complacency in the ranks. As the focus of the Army is shifting towards a hybrid threat and we will inevitably be facing a more complex skilled enemy with far better equipment, our approach to training needs to be re thought. Leaders at all levels have the responsibility to ensure their subordinates are as prepared as they can be going into a deployment. • 4. The Debate Over Stem Cells And Cloning Abstract Stem cells and cloning are very controversial today. There are debates and arguments about it all over the internet. The idea of stem cells is to use them to help cure and prevent diseases. You can use embryonic and adult stem cells. That s one of the reasons people argue about it, because it kills the potential life of the embryo. [Stem Cells and Cloning] Stem cells and cloning is very controversial in today s society. Some people believe it s not a good idea because it destroys embryos (Thomas Berg, 2006). On the other hand, some believe that the goal is to turn some of these in to embryonic stem cells that would be a perfect genetic match to a sick patient. (Julia Cort, 2006). Unique properties... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) are generated by transferring cells from a preimplantation stage embryo into a plastic laboratory culture dish that contains a nutrient broth known as culture medium. Both types of cells have advantages and disadvantages when being used for cell based regenerative therapies. One major difference between adult and embryonic stem cells is their different abilities in the number and type of differentiated cell types they can become. Embryonic stem cells can become all cell types of the body because they are pluripotent. Adult stem cells are thought to be limited to differentiating into different cell types of their tissue of origin (National Institutions of health, 2016). Current sources There are three different places you can find embryonic cells: cell lines that exist already, left over from fertility treatment, and making custom ones by somatic cell nuclear transfer. Potential uses in biomedical research Julia Cort (2006) says The Jaenisch team set out to eliminate that potential. First, they took a tiny bit of skin from a mouse s tail and let it grow in culture. With the skin cells growing in a Petri dish, Meissner concocted a special virus and added it to the skin cells. The virus went to work and inserted an extra bit of DNA into the skin cell DNA. Meissner performed the cloning, sucking up a skin cell now containing the extra DNA and transferring it into a mouse egg. And then the team waited and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Personal Vehicle Observation Report On June 25, 2015, my personal vehicle was damaged while I attended Trivia Night at R Macs Tavern between the hours of 2100 and 0000 that evening. The tavern is located at 110 White Horse Pike in Oaklyn, NJ and my vehicle was parked legally and unattended in the parking lot when the incident occurred. The damage to my vehicle s driver s side front fender (crushed) and side mirror (broken) was noticed the next morning in the daylight before reporting to day patrol. During the morning hours, I recalled that I parked under one of the business outside security cameras. I placed a call to the tavern and spoke to Jack Fister, the morning maintenance person. • 6. Compare And Contrast Capitalism And Capitalism The issue I intend to research is a critical evaluation of capitalism and free markets versus socialism and Keynesian economics. In the twentieth century every human civilization was shaken not just by the aftermath of a worldwide war, but by a political rift without equal. This last concerns the best possible part and elements of government a subject of critical significance the welfare of all humankind. No other worldwide issue has ever created so profound and troublesome rupture in popular supposition at high cost to human life. The issue is, figuratively, regardless of whether an individual possesses himself and the rewards for his labor and mind or whether he is claimed by the collective and is born accordingly obligated. In other words, regardless of whether the collective or government should take the chief part in the exercises of the group and control with omnipotent powers the developments and welfare of the individuals, or whether it might stand separated from the battle, mediating upon its issues, ensuring reasonable equity to all, and safeguarding the tenets of fair play. That is to say, whether the administration should take upon itself the power and elements of the old fashioned slave proprietor, or should leave the society free to get themselves straightened out into entrepreneur and worker, while the collective government goes about as the judge, ready in the communal interest to exert physical and financial force against the individual. • 13. Martin Luther Splintering Of Religion Divine grace was a particularly prominent concern in sixteenth century Europe, it prompted the splintering of Christendom and was therefore responsible in large part for the subsequent violence. With the extensive conflict motivated by debates over the delivery of divine grace, it comes as no surprise that leading figures of the era harbored vastly differing opinions on the subject. Martin Luther, John Fisher, and Hans Staden, drawing from the exact same source material, came to drastically different conclusions regarding the bestowment, acceptance, and discovery of divine grace. Martin Luther s personal interpretation of divine grace differed so greatly from that of other christians that it facilitated the splintering of a religion. Luther s influential interpretation was formed on the basis of two claims made by St. Paul in his Letter to the Romans. First, a justified Christian lives by faith alone, and second Christ is the end and the fulfillment of all commandments for those who believe in Him, (Luther 22). Luther interpreted St. Paul s words to mean that divine grace is bestowed through faith, that Faith... will abundantly justify those who have it, such that they require nothing more to be righteous and pious, (Luther 22). Dominance is a key factor in an orca society and having more than one dominant orca in a small area where they cannot distance themselves can cause a future of lashing out (Caperthwaite). Unlike SeaWorld corporation officials may lead one to believe, captive orcas are less safe than wild orcas. SeaWorld is home to 22 orcas between its three parks and six at Loro Parque in Spain (WDC). Tilikum, the male orca responsible for most of the newborns in SeaWorld s captivity, The Fate of Captivewas the most talked about orca. Most of the young orcas inhabiting the three parks are direct offspring from Tilikum due to artificial insemination. This essay explains that Anselm s argument of God s existence works. In particular, I will show that Anselm s ontological argument makes sense by showing that the statements that logically contribute to the existenceof God. In Anselm s ontological argument, he states that God means something than which greater can be thought. In other words, God is whatever it is better to be than not to be (Anselm, Proslogion, 9). This means that God is the greatest thing that can be conceived. For if God did not exist, then something greater than God would exist. Nevertheless, nothing is better than God can be thought, therefore, saying if God did not exist, that something greater than God would exist. contradictions that God is the greatest thing that can be thought. Which helps conclude that God must exist because nothing is greater than God. The ontological argument of Anselm also includes how the idea of God exists in the mind even of the person who denies that God exists in reality. One important thing that I learnt from this skill is that sometimes you might not need to speak a lot or try to speak all the time, but the important thing is that you should try to see which actor shares the same opinion as you and whether that actor is strong enough to act on your behalf. This was really obvious in the activity of multilateral negotiations on negotiating intervention in a civil conflict where I played Iraq. I found that Iraq shared a lot in common with the Arab states, especially Iran on the Syrian issues. Balancing interests in the negotiation through the Arab countries helped Iraq protect its interests. Without speaking much, but allying very well with Iran and balancing the interests with the Arab states, it turned out that I gained the highest score in my group. However, there was one thing I found quite unrealistic about this activity. That was the rule on unanimous agreement. I do not think this can be applied in the real world situation. I think that it would be better if we do not need to stick on this. The unanimous rule made some players concede too much, and that did not reflect real international negotiations. The role play on Six party talks was both fun and useful. This role play gave me a chance to practice more skills on negotiation and chairing. But, despite their clashes on the status and views of imagination, the Romantics and Victorians share similar ideas through different angles of perspective, which we could assume are linked in part to their era. Coleridge s definition of imagination consists of the imagination as the prime agent for all human perception. However, Goblin Market is a story that completely rejects the Romantics ideals of the imagination since it is a Victorian text. Thus, the imagination is shown as something associated with being evil and dangerous, which compliments the Victorian ideals while criticizing the Romantics admiration of the imagination. The initial setting of the tale dwells upon the nature taking evil and satanic forms due to the destructive tone of the imagination that contradicts the Romantic s policy of nature being pure and divine in any form it takes. Basically, the initial setting of the tale takes shape with the aid of local folklore about the mysterious mythical creatures that appear with luscious baskets of fruits. The author builds upon this folklore by distancing the characters, such as Laura and Lizzie, from this weird folk culture by introducing the harm inflicted by these goblins on innocent, gullible young girls. Therefore, the author has already contradicted a central tendency of Romanticism, which is to root their stories in relation to inquisitive adventures regarding folk culture and myths. Furthermore, the term used for these imaginative figures is goblins, which is considered by the Oxford dictionary as a mischievous, ugly, dwarf like creature of folklore (Oxford University). Although, who s the creator of a weapon that can inflict physical damage? The answer is patriotic scientists. These scientists believe they are creating a weapon that is protecting their country and themselves. Starting with simple weapons, people have developed with more advanced methods to kill one another in a war or anywhere. This helps us understand that a scientist shouldn t have an obligation to create a weapon because it causes mass destruction, sometimes turns into a failure, and affects the environment. When we talk about weapons of mass destruction, we think of nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are the most dangerous weapons on earth. An example for a nuclear weaponis an atomic bomb called little boy and fatman, which were a gun type weapon and the implosion type. These were the first atomic bombs dropped by United States on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Many scientists and engineers in the Manhattan Project developed these bombs. About 140,000 deaths were reported from the Hiroshima bombing. These innocent people were killed within seconds from these atomic bomb created from obligated scientists. This age was a time of change in multiple ways, many were more serious than others. The 1920swere an age of dramatic and political change for instance. The 1920s brought more of a conflict than celebration to the nation, and its wealth. For the first time in the nation s history, more Americans lived in cities than farms ( History.com Staff, The Roaring Twenties) . Although the U.S.A. did not enter the First World War until April 1917, the conflict cast a shadow over American society that would take a while to pass. There was a brief economic recession at the start of the 1920s, but as the decade moves on, the economy boomed and America began the age of consumerism. However, the savage reservation in Brave New World has a lack of government, which allows for the people there to freely decide how they would wish to live, unlike the World State or Anarres in The Dispossessed. The World State and Anarres have controlling governments that monitors all ideas to decide if they are considered dangerous to the society and regulates the opinions of the people. The savage reservation in Aldous Huxleys Brave New Worldis more utopian than both the modern World State and Ursula Le Guin s communist planet of Anarres from The Dispossessed because it maximizes freedom while minimizing the power... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People at the savage reservation are less controlled because their culture and society is less structured due to its small size. The general leader has less to worry about when leading a small group rather than a large population in terms of riots, wars, and revolutions, therefore major control is unnecessary. In the World State however, the population is immense because of their method of creating babies in test tubes. To sustain peace, happiness, and the feeling of utopia, the government uses its control to give everyone in the same class the same opinion. This is done through conditioning, which includes forcing babies to associate electric shocks to certain items and hypnopГ¦dia. In the beginning of the book, the Director says The child s mind is these suggestions, and the sum of the suggestions is the child s mind... but all these suggestions are our suggestions! (Huxley 29) when describing why hypnopГ¦dia is used on the children as they grow up. This quote shows how the government s opinions are forced into the entire population s head as they grow up and that they are proud to be controlling their minds. This method may prevent wars over different beliefs and make everyone satisfied that they are in their assigned social class, but it also takes away individuality and freedom. Anarres is also heavily populated, so the Odonians are taught to believe that the people on Urras are corrupt and evil to keep them from wanting to leave Anarres or make contact with Urras. The extent of this belief is seen when Shevek explains why he might not return from Urras by stating, Anybody outside Defense could make explosives with blasting powder and blow up the ship on the ground. Rook (1987) explains impulse buying as Impulse buying takes place when a consumer feels a sudden often strong and insistent urge to purchase something instantly. The urge to buy is hedonically complex and often may fuel emotional conflict. Also, impulse buying is likely to occur with reduced concern for its consequences. Beatty Ferrell (1998) explains the concept of impulse buying by saying that it is immediate purchase of a product without any pre shopping intentions to buy. She began staring at the handsome prince. She gazed at his eyes...she loved to do that lately. All she thought about was he, morning, noon and night, wishing that she could ve known him and been his friend. Alison was not sure if it was she, who had urged Amir to wipe his eyes so that she could see what was going on, or that the tears were burning his cheeks and the need to wipe them away was of his free will. His dark green, silk doublet was used as a hankie, as he pulled the thick material roughly over his eyes and cheeks, and looked down sadly. Alison felt herself gasp, as lying on the ground lay a chestnut horse. The light breath of the horse and the nudging of its head made Alison aware that he was dying. The straw that was around the horse was bloodied from the deep wounds on its stomach. Amir stroked its mane, hugging the creature and whispering gently in its ear, then kissed the horse on its temple and watched sadly, as he died, unable to help a creature who had been his only companion in the palace, for as long as Amir could remember. Sleep tight Harpo, I ll miss you, Amir cried as he closed Harpo s eyes and continued stroking his mane. Oh dear, who could have killed your horse? a wicked voice behind him sneered. Amir turned around to see his sister standing there laughing by the barn doors. Did a nasty person kill your horsey worsy? she laughed. Leave me alone! Amir shouted, as he quickly stood up and ran at Zantha, his bloodied hands turning into a fist. What? And leave you to suffer in peace? I don t think I could do that. I want to see you suffer. • 42. Commentary on the Bat by Roethke Aliona Fezoua My Expert Commentary The Bat Theodore Roethke: By day the bat is cousin to the mouse. He likes the attic of an aging house. His fingers make a hat about his head. His pulse beat is so slow we think him dead. He loops in crazy figures half the night Among the trees that face the corner light. But when he brushes up against a screen, We are afraid of what our eyes have seen: For something is amiss or out of place When mice with wings can wear a human face. Theodore Roethke s poem The Bat clearly focuses on the animal the bat and effectively conveys through the latter an important message to the reader. One could interpret this poem in various ways; however a prominent theme would be that every... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By comparing the bat s depiction during both day and night, Roethke may be trying to convey that the bat is actually no more than a simple and peaceful being, which has been wrongly portrayed for years. From another point of view, the author could be wanting to convey, through the image of a bat, that everyone has a dark side . Roethke ingeniously does so in the final line of the poem with the latter s twist metaphorical ending; when mice with wings can wear a human face (Roethke, 10). As previously discussed, bats are usually associated with slyness and darkness, by making the bat wear a human face , Roethke is trying to express that bats can sometimes resemble humans and vice versa. Ultimately, humans can also sometimes wear a bat face and have a darker side. The author also gives the poem a very descriptive tone through a significant amount of imagery. For example, the metaphor; his fingers make a hat about his head (Roethke, 3), provides a detailed description of the bat s upper body in such a way that the reader is able to picture the bat as what Roethke wants him/her to picture it as. One could also infer that the author may again be trying to make the connection between bat and man; since men wear hats and not bats. Another metaphor would be; by day the bat is cousin to the mouse (Roethke, 1). Of course, mouse ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Budget Deficits and the Economic Growth Budget Deficits and Economic Growth Joey Willoughby ECO 203 Principles of Macroeconomics Instructor: Nathan Rondeau 6/27/2011 Budget Deficits and Economic Growth Economists generally agree that high budget deficits today will result in the reduction of the growth rate of the economy in the future. The United States budgetary situation has disintegrated significantly since 2001, when the CBO ( Congressional Budget Office ) forecast average annual surpluses of nearly $850 billion from 2009 2012. In April of 2011, it was revealed that our nation is 12.7 trillion dollars in debt which surpasses by a wide margin, the 2001 CBO forecast of a cumulative surplus by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unless the deficit spending is allotted to purchases resulting in long term increases in real GDP, future generations will have to endure taxation at an elevated rate. This is the only way that the government entity will be capable of retiring the elevated public debt which has resulted from this generation s consumption of goods, provided governmentally. Added to this dilemma, the increased level of consumption by this same generation crowds out investment, thus a reduction of capital goods growth is apparent, leaving future generations with insignificant capital stock and a drastic reduction of their wealth. ( time.com) In relation to our foreign debt, future generations may be taxed to repay this exorbitant debt plus aggregated interest however this does not have to be etched in stone. It all depends entirely on the projects that the government funds in the future. If these projects are of a wasteful nature our future generations may face yet another added burden. This would also stymie the growth rate of the economy in the future. The deficit must be maintained to ensure that the nation s economy grows with its resource position. Our nation must do everything in its power to reduce the deficit. Economic growth is also further impaired by government borrowing, which essentially is competing for money against the private sector. The continuance of government borrowing is denying the U.S. ... Hades says, I wonder what would happen if I go to the living world again. With a big jump, Hades jumped up really high and tried to make it to the living world. Many villagers went to Mount Olympus to tell Zeus and Poseidon that their evil brother is trying to escape the underworld. Zeus and Poseidon never had a good past with Hades. They always argued with him. Zeus and Poseidon didn t want the villagers to be scared so they went to the village. When they arrived, they felt the whole village shaking. Zeus and Poseidon went to the underworld to stop Hades from leaving that wretched place. Zeus and Poseidon saw Hades trying to escape. • 46. Different Types Of Economics Within The Game Show Industry The business that I have chosen for this project is TV Game Shows. Over the next few pages, I will show different types of economics within the game show industry. Cash prizes are paid by the show, and the money comes from the producers, who are paid by the advertisers/network. There can be a couple of safeguards that make this a little easier for the shows: They can have an insurance policy to protect them from huge losses. For example, the insurance company says, we ve studied the odds of your game, and we ll sell you a policy for $200,000 up front, that pays out full prize money any time someone wins $100,000 or more during this season of the show. Obviously this is all about a smart insurance company who has studied the gameplay and sorted out the odds of how many players will win big, but the point is that the show doesn t have to worry about it. They can let the insurance company work it out, and the show then has a nice fixed cost expense they can reliably drop into their production budget and not think about it. For really big prizes ($1,000,000), shows may pay similar to a lottery, where the money is in a fund that pays over x amount of years, or the winner can take a reduced lump sum immediately. For example, if you were to win $1 million on a show, they might tell you (after the show is done taping) okay! We can give you $50,000 a year for the next 20 years, or we can pay you $450,000 lump sum right now and that s all you get. And of course, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However The Partridge Family TV show did launch the career of teen idol David Cassidy. Since he could show his musical talent every week it made things a lot easier for him than to have to struggle to get himself seen and heard. This show also came along at just the right time because the ever popular show The Monkees had gone off the air in 1968. It was time for more music and comedy to fill the airwaves. Another thing that greatly helped The Partridge Family to gain an audience was that the show was scheduled to fill the 8:30 PM timeslot right after The Brady Bunch in 1970 on ABC. The inspiration for this show was a real life family act The Cowsills. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the USA the majority of people aspired for such things as a secure job in a large corporation, a house in a nice suburb, a large family, a large car, and an array of labour saving devices. Designers and Manufacturers targeted this new generation of homemakers and consumers.8 Hence, design became undoubtedly linked with mass production and mass consumption. Rosenblatt states The odd thing is that we do not even really believe that the man in the water lost his fight. This man had so much courage and faith to put others lives before his. This saying, he had a plan in mind, he followed through with it, and achieved it so he did not lose the fight, he really won, and also shared his victory with others. He gave up everything he had to give hope to others. Rosenblatt gave another point being, When the helicopter took off with what was to be the last survivor, he watched everything in the world move away from him, and he deliberately let it happen. One could think he was content with what he had done. He sacrificed himself for the life of another life.
