Sundiata: an Epic of Old Mali was written by D.T. Niane and translated by G.C.
Pickett. D.T. Niane was a historian who received this version of Sundiata s epic from
Djeli Mamoudou KouyatГ©, a griot. In fact, there is not a true author for this epic
due to the fact that it has been transmitted orally for many years. This epic justly
showed the type of culture Africa had at the time taken place and has defined the
type of people who use to reside there. Sundiata: an Epic of Old Mali withholds many
themes, but only some of importance: the transmission of the epic, politics, religion,
and destiny.
It can be argued that the orality of Sundiata versus the written translation is an
important theme of the epic of old Mali. This story has been translated several times
into several different languages. The epic of Sundiata originated as an oral epic
performance that was performed by various African griots or bards. It was a challenge

form of transmission than writing. Transmitting oral passages into writing can be

The purpose of this experiment was to prepare isoamyl acetate from isoamyl alcohol
and glacial acetic acid by Fischer esterification.

attached to a clamp and rested in a sand bath that ranged between 150 160В°C. A

The mixture was refluxed for one hour. Once the hour passed, the reaction mixture
was cooled to room temperature and the sand bath was turned off. After the boiling
chip was removed from the vial, 1 mL of 5% sodium hydrogen carbonate
(NaHCO3) was slowly added to the reaction mixture, capped and swirled. The vial
was shaken to mix the contents and the cap was removed to release the pressure.
This was repeated until the bubbles were no longer produced. A Pasteur pipet was
used to remove the aqueous layer which was disposed in a test tube labeled
Aqueous Layer . The extraction of the upper organic layer was repeated two more
times with new 1 mL portions of 5% NaHCO3, placing the aqueous layer in the

challenged. In recreating the chaotic world of combat war both Three Kings

visual elements to convey and depict what war looks like. Despite bearing some
minor similarities, the differences between Three Kings and Apocalypse Noware
striking when it comes to cinematography.
Three Kings starts out with an American soldier, Troy Barlow (played by Mark
Wahlberg) yelling out to a buddy in the distance, Are we shooting? , while he is
standing on a flat, colorless Iraqi desert scattered with mounds. The desert is

Far away in the distance, on top of one of these mounds an Iraqi waves his rifle and
