The Story Of George T. Slobonik
Rings
George T. Slobonik, age fifty one, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Main Town Health Facility.
Husband of Rita Slobonik nee Goldrick. Resting at Kenwick Funeral Home with visitation from two
to four and seven to nine on Friday. . . . And so it read in The Observer. She lost her husband.
I lost my wife a year ago. I had it figured. I d go at five minutes to nine when everyone had cleared
out. But would she remember me? It had been twenty five years. I thought of her every day. We d
gone together for six or seven months and split because I was a damn immature fool. I was going to
give her an engagement ring. I told her so, and she said, Wouldn t it be wise to get a better car?
Well, I thought if I asked a girl to marry me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I heard your wife died about a year ago.
With my arms around her, in condolence, I kissed her lightly on her cheek and she responded with a
kiss smack on my lips. That was when words popped from my mouth, words I hadn t considered: Will
you marry me?
An expression of ambivalence left me feeling a damn stupid fool, again.
I was looking at the empty casket, save for a small brass urn inside. Cremation? I asked.
Indeed, she replied, no doubt you heard about George?
No.
One is not supposed to speak ill of the dead, but our marriage was dead. His extramarital activities
caught up. It was either cirrhosis of the liver or HIV. The doctor concluded HIV won. We haven t been
together for over three years. I m only here because he had no one else.
Yes, I will marry you. I ve thought about you many times. Do we start where we left off, and how s
your car? she asked with a grin.
I just bought a new Tesla.
Okay, with a ring we can get married. A week Saturday soon enough?
Yes, I answered, but may I inquire, would you accept my wife s ring?
She looked at me with an expression that included pinched lips.
The next day I attended the funeral and Rita managed to avoid me completely. Her friends gave me
the cold shoulder. Two weeks went by. I was unable to make contact. How dumb can a guy get? It
took that long to realize I d been dumped. This time I guess it was her turn.
Seven or eight months passed when I heard she got married. I

The Cure Of Exchange For Anna And Myself
They did as I ordered and held back, many now turning their attention to Lyle in search for their next
move. Here s the deal, I told them now feeling I had the upper hand. The cure in exchange for Anna
and myself. There s enough here for your people to be able to reverse engineer it and replicate it. You
don t need us any longer. Alright, Peter, we accept, Lyle reluctantly agreed. What, no, we don t accept,
Kim sneered. We take what we want and we re taking the damn cure. Then, we re taking him. And, we
re taking Anna. I ll drop it, I swear, I told her as I held the vile out precariously between my index

Two, I said. He s bluffing, snipped Kim. Am I, I responded to her, my tone dead serious. Alright,
alright! Lyle shouted. Peter, you win. Someone get Anna down and out of those chains. But , Kim
began. But, nothing, Lyle said cutting her off. Do as I say. Several of the Alliance members began
working to free Anna, and I watched as she slowly inched her way closer to the ground. Once back on
the Shed s cement floor, a man and a woman worked to remove her from her iron imprisonment.
Alright, now she s free. Give us the cure, Lyle demanded. Not until she s safely with me, I told him.
But, here s what I will do. I ll place the cure here on the ground and then I ll back away from it. The
closer Anna gets to me, the further I move away and the sooner, it s all yours. If you or any of your
goons rush us, I begin firing at you or maybe I begin firing at the cure. Do you think I m a good
enough shot to hit it? Try me and find out. Fine, Lyle agreed. Get her out of those chains already, he
ordered. Once free of the gag, Anna called out to me in that feisty, spirited charm of hers, Peter, just
shoot these mother fuckers! she screamed. She then filled her lungs so she could speak again. Put one
right between that bitch s eyes, she said referring to Kim. I should have bashed your head in like a
piñata when I had the chance! Kim erupted as she responded to Anna s threat.

Symbolism In The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls By Henry...
Henry Longfellow and John Whitter both used symbolism to juristically make their writing more
appealing and full of elements. For Longfellow it was The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls ..In the poem,
The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls , the theme to me is surrounded around the fact of life goes on. The rise
and fall of the tides in the ocean represent the way life is a roller coaster and it goes up and down and
never slows down. An example to relate to the theme is when Longfellow says The day returns, but
nevermore Returns the traveller to the shore, and the tide rises, the tide falls. While he claims this it
supports the fact that this is about life changing, it supports it because once the day comes to an end,
and the traveller (person living life) is at rest from a long day, the tide rises and falls. In other ways,
life still goes on. Now as for John Whitter s poem, Snowbound, I believe the theme for this piece of
literature is overcoming the odds. The setting I thought of was in a little cabin that was trying its best
to stand tall through a harsh winter storm. The heat in doors was limited and the family inside was just
trying to make it through what seemed like a never ending storm. In the poem one line that caught my
eye about them overcoming the odds was We watched the first red blaze appear, Heard the sharp
crackle, caught the gleam, On whitewashed wall and sagging beam, . While he claims this is supports
the fact that this is about how regardless of the situation, no

Should Humans Consume Insects As An Alternate Source Of...
Should Humans Consume Insects as an Alternate Source of Food? Intro Cultivating animals and crops
takes countless amount of hours and use an abundance of resources; furthermore, it produces waste
that can be harmful to the environment. The human population is increasing at an ever increasing rate
and scientists all over the world are trying to solve a global issue. It is estimated by the UN that the
population will hit 9.7 billion by 2050; undoubtedly, these inefficient and wasteful processes will not
suffice. What about insects, there are plentiful in supply and are packed with proteins and other
nutrients that the body needs; furthermore, using insects in our main diets will decrease the need for
domesticated animals which causes creates problems for everyone; in contrast to insects, which have
versatile ways for people to choose from, use less resources, and produce less waste. Lastly, if we
decrease the population of insects it will actually benefit society by limiting the amount of infestation
and their effects on crops, trees, etc. (DeFoliart, 1992) (Premalatha, 2011) (Verkerka, Trampera,
Trijpb, Martensa, 2007). This proposal will examine the nutrients, environmental impacts, ethics, and
effectiveness of an insect diet and will then be presented through a tri fold board with clear pictures,
statistics and information about this topic. The Problem and How People Are Using Similar Processes

Elizabeth Woodville And Anne Boleyn
Women throughout history rarely receive attention for more than superficial causes: their influence on
style, manners, or less. However, many women found themselves contributing to the formation of
postmodern constructs of marriage for love, partnership, and fidelity. Foremost among these,
temporally and popularly, are the examples of Elizabeth Woodville and Anne Boleyn. Undoubtedly,
these cases hold great significance to cultural studies of the temporal periods in which the English
identify as participants, but they also aid in seeing the eventual popular degradation of women from
chaste matrons and aloof maidens to lusty bawds and traitorous whores. By this degradation and
extensive primary sources, scholars can easily find these women as examples of the use of one s
image for power in redefining concepts of queenship, and also women who set the standard to view
the gradual combination of partner and lover in understanding social history. Aristocratic women in
the Court system as a whole find relatively little attention by the most popular works on its culture.
David Starkey , Alison Weir , and David Gunn , even though they offer insights on topic largely
relegated to popular histories and romances; women, in fact, receive little merit for their Courtly
careers. Yet, it is important to recognize that the late medieval and Tudor Court offered an increasing
number of roles for women to fill, as well as, a semblance of stability. The key to the ability for young

The Exposition Of Hamlet By William Shakespeare Essay
According to David Ball, in his book Forwards and Backwards, you can t begin to find a play s
meaning until you comprehend its works (Ball 3). William Shakespeare s Hamlet is an excellently
written dramatic tragedy, that when analyzed well, is a dynamically diverse piece of literature. Hamlet
is an ideal play for analyzing, with much exposition, clear stasis and intrusion, good use of theatrical
elements, suspenseful forwards, and multiple cause and effect triggers and heaps.
The exposition in Hamlet is in constant development throughout act I, scenes i and ii, as the
characters, in a natural way, give the audience information about the current state of Denmark. From
the first scene of act I, it is revealed that the characters Horatio, Bernardo, Francisco, and Marcellus,
are guards for the palace in Denmark. As they speak, the audience realizes that for the last few nights
an apparition has been appearing at the same time every night, midnight, the time when the play
begins. More exposition is then revealed through Horatio as he speaks about the ghost and it s possible
relationship to the previous war against Norway, as well as the effects the war had on the characters
present.
Our last king, whose image even but now appeared to us, was, as you know, by Fortinbras of Norway,
thereto pricked on by a most emulate pride, dared to the combat; in which our valiant Hamlet for so

Compare And Contrast The Concentration Of Hydrochloric...
Considering the data and evidence collected from both primary, secondary and additional sources, I
can conclude that my hypothesis, which suggests that the higher the food colouring concentration, the
steeper the gradient of diffusion reaction, is valid. To support my hypothesis I will refer to my
primary, secondary and additional evidence to explain my conclusions in depth.
Firstly, if we consider the data collected in tables from my primary and secondary evidence, we can
see that the values of the range of diffusion reaction are higher when the concentration of food
colouring dye used is higher in percentage. Specifically, when the concentration is at 0%, there is no
diffusion reaction at all. In contrast, as we increase the percentage of food dye used by a specific set
value (+20% each time) the distance (radius or diameter) of food dye formed from diffusion around
the well becomes steeper. For example, 20% of food dye concentration diffused presents the lowest
means: 12.3mm (primary data) and 2.3mm (secondary data, where the radius has been measured

Agar is remarkably related. To be specific, diffusion is a process in which substances move down a
concentration gradient, from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration to reach the
equilibrium. When a well is filled with a specific food dye, the well becomes the area of high
concentration. It eventually diffuses through agar, (agar being the region having no concentration of
food dye particles) at a certain rate, depending on the concentration of the food dye to reach the
equilibrium. When doing my practical and collecting data, food dye with higher concentration
diffused through agar had a bigger gradient of diffusion(bigger area around the wells), which presents
higher values exactly as I predicted in my

Dietary Assessment Paper
There are several limitations to the dietary assessment, that could affect my diet quality both
positively and negatively:
1) According to my family s weekly grocery plan, the food consumption all 4 food categories is quite
approximate to the recommended amount by Canada s Food Guide (except grain products). The
sample size is too small for me to make a conclusion about my overall long term food habit.
2) Due to the flexibility of my schedule, the lunch and dinner times vary. This could probably worsen
my food habit due to possible binge eating (citation: international journal of eating disorder), and a
higher chance of choosing energy dense foods.
3) During school days, the food I consume will mainly be prepared by someone else, so it would

Example Of Heroism In Beowulf
Question four
Beowulf is determined as a hero in my eyes, throughout the brave and heroic attributes that he had
undertaken within this poem. When defining a hero in our first week of class, we had come up with
the idea that a hero is someone who is: selfless, has strength, sacrifices everything that they have for
the greater good and shows confidence. Beowulf has shown all of these attributes beginning with
being selfless. Beowulf came to the Danes because he knew that he needed to not only keep his
kingdom safe, but surrounding kingdoms. Beowulf s heroism was defined on these next couple of
lines. On line 193, There was no one else like him alive. In his day, he was the mightiest man on earth,
high born and powerful. He ordered a boat that would ply the waves. He announced his plan (Heaney,
15, 193 196). Beowulf knew the dangers that fighting this demon could bring, but he sacrificed
everything he had. If Beowulf would have lost the battle, his Kingdom (Geats) would have been left
with nothing and Hrothgars kingdom would still be under attack. Beowulf also shows his strength
throughout the poem. When Beowulf arrives at the Danes, he shows no fear. Beowulf speaks with
Hrothgar to learn what is true about his threat. Beowulf speaks giving the Danes much hope, line 294
whatever it is, this danger abroad in the dark nights, I come to proffer my wholehearted help and
counsel (Heaney, 21, 294 298). Beowulf is a hero and a leader, even if we look at him within modern
times. Beowulf shows cause and reason to why he is at the Danes, he creates leadership upon his men
and he has shown devotion towards this cause of wanting to defeat Grendal the demon in the poem.
Every move Beowulf takes in this poem is what I believe we would want in the modern times of war.
We want a leader that will be able to take charge and follow through with the actions they speak upon.
In modern time, we also want a leader that protects our land and has their best opinion out for their
Country. We want a leader like Beowulf. There is times that as a reader one could think that he is only
completing these heroic attributes to uphold his overall reputation of himself, but isn t that everyone s
main goal when completing a monumental task?

Personnel Economics Application Paper
Personnel Economics Application Paper
Tournament is a kind of reward system where fixed rewards are used for a fixed group of people and
the distribution of rewards is based on the order of the participants performance (Lazear amp; Oyer,
2009, p. 9). In this particular situation, four agents in one of Mitch amp; Murray s offices are given a
strong incentive to succeed in a sales tournament. Mitch amp; Murray uses a set of prizes that
diminish in value as a person s relative performance gets lower. The top seller will win himself a
Cadillac, the second will win himself a set of steak knives, and the others will be out of job (Glengarry
Glen Ross, n.d.). In response to the given prizes, four agents react in different ways.

The good leads are locked in the office manager s room and they will not be distributed until the end
of the contest. (Glengarry Glen Ross, n.d.). After he realizes that no matter how hard he work, his
sales performance will barely improve, he becomes desperate. At that point, the cost of effort for him
is too high which makes the prize unachievable, and thus provides no incentive for him to exert effort
anymore. With those old leads, luck becomes relatively more important to the final success and effort
relatively less important. In such case, workers will try less hard to win because effort has a smaller
effect on whether or not they win (Lazear amp; Oyer, 2009, p. 10). This is why he soon gives up
working on the old leads but to flatter, threaten, and bribe the office manager to get good leads which
can reduce the cost of his effort and diminish the importance of luck. However, the result is quite
unexpected His attempt to get good leads does not work out so he finally helps Dave to steal and sell
the good leads to another company. This result may not be explained by tournament theory but can be
explained by economic theories Homo economicus all want to maximize their own profit or utility at
the lowest cost (Homo economicus, n.d.). Stealing and selling the leads may be a risky move but the
profit it brings to Shelly exceeds the risk plus the profit he may gain from working on the old leads,
and that

Present Good Arguments Against Cursive Writing
The following articles both present good arguments. In my opinion i agree with both. I believe that
everyone is different ,some may be more effecient in learning cursive writing and others might not be.
In the first article the author states Writing by hand helps individuals remember ideas better than
typing . From my own experience i can say that cursive writing for me would help me perform better
on tests. Learning cursive can help millions of people. The article also states It requires students to
summarize ideas rather than simply recording every word the teacher says . This shows that cursive
writing isn t useless; its a tool we can still use.
The second article on the other hand argues that cursive writing is virtually

The Cash Flow Sensitivity of Sash
Research Question Does the link between financial constraints and firms demand for liquidity can
help us identify whether financial constraints are an important determinant of firm behavior.
Contribution Previous scholars, Fazzari, Hubbard, and Petersen, proposed that investment activities of
a firm is limited by the firm s financial situation, which is called financial constraints. When firms
face financial constraints, the firm s investment cash flow sensitivity is high. When a firm face no
financial constraints, its investment cash flow sensitivity is low. However this theory was doubtful by
some scholars. In 1997, Kaplan and Zingales propose an exactly opposite theory. In 2001, ... Show

The authors further test the intuition of our argument by investigating firms propensity to save cash
out of cash inflow over the business cycle.
Result
The authors use two alternative method to empirically model the cash flow sensitivity of cash. The
first model only include proxies: cash flow and investment opportunities. The second model is
estimated from a method in which a firm s decision to change its cash holdings is modeled as a
function of a number of sources and uses of funds. The result reported in table III is related to the first
model. The set of constrained firms shows significantly positive sensitivities of cash to cash flow
sensitivities. The sensitivity estimates for constrained firms are between 0.051 and 0.062 and are all
statistically significant at better than the 1% level.
The result reported in table IV is related to the second model. This finding is consistent with the view
that there are systematic difference between constrained and unconstrained firms in the way they
conduct their cash policies.
Paper s Findings
By conducting this study, the authors conclude that financial constraints and firm s liquidity demand
can help identify whether financial constraints can

A Lecture On Chatterton, Oscar Wilde s Career
At the time he delivered his lecture on Chatterton, Oscar Wilde s career was transforming. He was
transitioning from the performances he had honed during four solid years of addressing countless
audiences and was developing, with greater energy than ever before, his profile as an accomplished
author, critic, and editor. His discovery of Chatterton stands at the center of these changes.
Paying close attention to Chatterton enabled Wilde to understand that the astonishing inventiveness of
the Rowley forgeries evinced the imaginative impulse that inspired the finest forms of imaginative
literature. Exploiting the links between imagination, authenticity, and truth, Chatterton s artistic
originality arose in fabrications that conjured a literary past that historically never existed. Such fakes,
Wilde knew from his reading about Chatterton, might strike some interpreters as the result of
ungovernable, if not immoral, impulses.
In the critical essays and shorter fiction that Wilde wrote from the mid 1880s onward, he radically
inverted such interpretations. Throughout these essays, shorter fiction, and dramas, generous artistic
license, lying, and even criminal intent become as we explain in later chapters the foundation for great
art.
Understanding Chatterton s artistry not only informed Wilde s creative work; it also shaped his
knowledge of the Romantic poets, whose works he had long admired. If Wilde s interest in Keats and
Shelley stemmed from his university days, through

A Comparison of Greek and Norse Mythology Essay
Hundreds of years ago people did not have the technology to explain different forces of nature. They
created gods, each with separate powers, to rule their domains. Some of the gods were merciful, some
were wicked, and others were merely servants of more powerful gods. Looking at the gods, it is easy
to tell what the civilization most valued. I am going to look at the Greek and the Norse gods to
compare what was most important to their societies.
Both cultures had a king of the gods. In Greek mythology there is no god who is more powerful than
Zeus. He is the youngest son of Cronus and Rhea, ruler of the Titans. Cronus was told that one of his
children would overthrow him, taking control of his kingdom. To ... Show more content on

cruel and unforgiving. Only two have ever gone to Hades domain and returned, Hercules and
Odysseus. Hades fell in love with Zeus s daughter and devised a plan to abduct her. With Zeus s help

Persuasive Essay About Horse Slaughter
Would you kill your best friend after years of hard work together? I believe horse slaughter is a
necessary evil due to many different reasons. The first reason is due to horses that cannot be used
anymore due to health reasons. It would be wonderful to be able to afford a lame horse to sit on
pasture all day, but that is not always an option. Nobody is going to buy a lame horse when they can
buy a perfectly able horse for the same price. Where does a lame horse go? He goes to the auction and
a kill buyer buys him. He gets sent across the US border into Canada or Mexico to be slaughtered. He
has to suffer through the long trailer ride in horrendous conditions to the slaughter plant. Then, he
arrives at the slaughter plant. They open the trailer doors and he gets trampled by other horses trying
to get off. Now, he is injured and limps out of the trailer. All the horses are scared and they are
rounded into a pen. They are in the pen and get a chained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I own one and take care of her every day, but I also understand what goes on behind the scenes. I
know that not every horse can have a loving owner. I believe that if a horse is offered a humane death;
it is better than living its life unloved. My horse was an abuse case. She was born as a colorless paint
which means that she was supposed to be born with two or more colors but she was born with only
one color. Her breeder was upset and did not take care of her. She was finally rescued four years later
due to being severely malnourished and beaten. I found her six years later and she was still
malnourished. Now, she suffers with everyday joint issues and pain because of what she went through.
I almost wish they would have sent her off to slaughter for she would not have had to suffer. Horse
slaughter NEEDS to happen. There are too many horses on the earth, and not enough resources to feed
them. They are considered livestock, so I do not see any reason for them not to be

respiratory fitness of an individual. you are given a score based on their performance in three events
consisting of the push up, sit up, and a two mile run. Possible scores range from 0 to 100 points in
each event. A passing score is a total of 180 or higher with a minimum score of 60 in each event.
The Push Up: The push up exercise measures the strength of the chest, shoulder, and triceps muscles.

of your last correctly performed sit up. The up position is the only aloud rest position. If you stop and
rest in the starting position, the exercise will be stopped . As long as you make a continuous physical
effort to sit up, the exercise will not be stopped. Correct performance is important. You will have two
minutes to perform as many sit ups as you can. A gym mat will also be used in this fitness test.

Gender Wage Gap Analysis
Throughout history there have been many inequalities between men and women. The most recent
inequality is the gender wage gap. Despite the efforts women have made to create equal opportunity,
women are still valued less than men. For example, women s work performance is not valued as
highly as men s and a woman s median annual income is 20% less than a man s (Miller, C). Even in
jobs with similar responsibilities, the pay still differs, the median earnings of information technology
managers (mostly men) are 27 percent higher than human resources managers (mostly women) ....
janitors (usually men) earn 22 percent more than maids and housecleaners (usually women) (Miller,
C). Individuals in power have a greater influence on society and considering that men dominate the
corporate world, men have the power to impact women s wages (Johnson). Gender biases and social
pressures also influence wage gaps (Miller, C). The gender wage gap contributes to the patriarchy
society in America. It has become a norm in society for men to have higher paying jobs. In the
workforce, women are sometimes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The structures influence people in different ways. Because men make more money than women,
couples tend to live closer to the men s job (Miller, C). Johnson explains some norms for women such
as, taking care of children and working in other domestic related jobs (Johnson). Studies also show
that when large numbers of women enter predominately male fields, the wages drop, even though it is
the same job (Miller, C). Wingefield explains gender inequality in the workforce through the symbol
of the glass escalator. The glass escalator conveys how women have a harder time acquiring positions
of power in men dominated fields, than men have in women dominated fields (Wingefield). These
phenomena prove that women s work is less valued than

The Effects Of Technology On Communication
One can never deny that society s cultural ideals have changed dramatically in the past decades. This
is, in part, due to the changes in technological advances. These devices almost a complete necessity as
of 2017, since, from personal experience, many professors require students to use technology to
complete assignments and to turn them in. The past 10 years have also allowed for sociable machines,
as Sherry Turkle, a Professor of Social Studies of Science and Technology at MIT, explains in her
book Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age. Many machines today can be
programmed to communicate or even provide services that a human being could do, only do so
flawlessly. While these advantages can be seen as something that can only benefit people, Turkle
explains that the reality of this phenomenon must be taken into deeper consideration when concerning
how this affects people psychologically.
Turkle examination on the long lasting effects that technology can have on conversation begins with
the story of an experience she had conversing with a school who worried that their students were
beginning to lose empathy and find it difficult to connect or to make friends because they were raised
not knowing a life without advanced technology or social media. The excessive use of technology
created a sort of barrier that prevented people from joining into deep and important conversations and
from joining them without distraction. (Turkle 5) She goes beyond this

Ridar Research Paper
THE INTRODUCTION OF THE RADAR TECHNOLGY
The outcome of the First World War (28th July 1914 11th November 1918), also known as the war to
end all wars (Wells, 1961), was not enough to end all problems that caused it, therefore there was a
call for a Second World War (1st of September 1939 2nd of September 1945). This war (World War 2)
between the Allies and Axial power block had a very important role in the impact of technology
during this period. As tension grew between opposing forces, so did its technological surroundings,
and with days leading up to the war, different proposal of new war technologies were requested by the
British Air Ministry. One of these technologies a RADIO DETECTING AND RANGING DEVICE

s threat, the RAF was ordered by Winston Churchill (British Army Officer) to prepare for war. This
paper reviews the contribution of radar technology towards the victory of the Royal Air Force (RAF)
over the Germans during the Battle of Britain (10th of July 1940 31st of October 1940), as this is a
topic that has begun to gain attention from contemporary researchers, but for which little factual
evidence exists. Much of the research relating to this topic leans towards the idea that the RAF
soldiers were victorious due to the advantage of fighting on home turf and the diversity of their pilots,
which is inadequate in a full examination of the war conditions. More importantly, two major factors
that motivate the research undertaken in this paper, is the fact that the Battle of Britain was the first
major campaign fought entirely by air forces, and the RAF s victory marked the first defeat of Hitler s
military force. Given the importance of this battle and the introduction of RADAR technology during
the period, one might wonder if the RADAR technology led the Royal Air Force

State Regulation On Uber And Cab Drivers Essay
Introduction
The history of regulation could be traced back to the ancient civilizations such as standardized weights
and measures in ancient Rome, paper currency system in China, and others including Egyptian, Indian
and Greek ( Plagiarism, Wikipedia: The Free Encyclopedia). In the modern society, governments
choose to intervene to correct market failure, to achieve an equitable distribution of income and
wealth and to improve the performance of economy (Geoff, 2006), such as the debate on state
regulation on Uber and cab drivers in WNPR News recently in the United State. In the meanwhile,
one of the key economic questions, what variables contribute the difference in levels of growth of
GDP among countries, has a continuing discussion among economists in their papers. Is there any
casual relationship between regulation and growth of GDP? Hall and Jones (1999) showed in their
papers that the performance of regulation acts a vital role of growth of GDP and found that richer
countries today had better political and economic institutions in the past. Based on previous finding in
this topic, exploring how differently growth of GDP performances with the variability of regulation is
beneficial to find out expected performance of government in regulation in economics in the purpose
of promoting better growth of economic. Thus, this paper will focus on exploring how to evaluate the
effect of government regulation in economic area in terms of Gross Domestic Product growth. The

approaches provide training in the perceptual processing components of

Three of these approaches sensory integration, transfer of training,

In the sensory integration and neurodevelopmental approaches,
the therapist provides controlled vestibular, tactile, proprioceptive, and

Intrapersonal Conflict
Intrapersonal conflict reveals itself through different individual attitudes and behaviours. Most of
these attitudes and behaviours may originate from self induced, emotional or inner feelings which may
include frustration and emotional instability. These attitudes or behaviours may lead to absenteeism
and destructive behaviour among individuals in an organization (Hughes, 2001). Poor attitudes and
behaviours which result from intrapersonal conflict usually decrease the performance and efficiency of
an organization. On the other hand when it is managed in the right manner it helps individuals
promote capacity to adapt and attain a balance in the working relations with the organization.
The management of intrapersonal conflicts can be achieved through the implementation of two
strategies which include cognitive strategies and behavioural strategies. Cognitive strategies, often
referred to as defence mechanisms, help an individual to falsify, distort or deny a particular conflict.
Cognitive strategies represent an attempt to control or manage negative and disturbing feelings
associated with conflict and to allow an individual to carry on with his normal activities. Cognitive
strategies include repression (an attempt to push conflict out of existence), rationalization (hiding the
truth from oneself), fantasy or even denial of reality. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

St. Augustine of Hippo, Bishop and Theologian Essay
St. Augustine, Bishop of Hippo, was one of the greatest theologians of his time. He is still regarded in
the highest manner. He was raised in a divided home, but through time he found the truth. He was
always a superb student. He fully mastered Latin; however, he never grasped Greek. He was also very
crafty in speech a black belt of rhetoric if you will. After his teenage flings and rebellions, he found a
heretical sect in which he became involved for a while. He traveled and landed in Milan for a while
where he met the bishop. He then discovered that Christianity was a suitable religion for a
philosopher. Finally, via Bishop Ambrose, Augustine converted to Christianity in 386. Later, he wrote

father wanted Augustine to be a lawyer until they found that he had such an inclination for rhetoric.
He became the top of his class and continued to excel in almost all his subjects. He swiftly mastered
Latin; however, he never learned Greek, the reason being that his instructor was an abusive man and
physically punished his students. Because of the association of the Greek language and this violent
man, Augustine never could bring himself to learning it. He began to excel in rhetoric; in which, he
would later make his career. Augustine had the potential to become a great politician because he could
easily sway people with his words. As seen in history, many people who can talk well get elected, but
the people with the real stuff do not get into the high offices. After his schooling, he went on to
become a rhetoric professor in the city of Carthage. *5(Hutchins) His rhetoric was so good that in 377,

Rational Expectation Hypothesis Proposed By Lucas ( 1973 )...
According to rational expectation hypothesis proposed by Lucas (1973) and Sargent (1971), economic
participants can make full use of all the information they can get to forecast the future inflation and
will not make systematic mistakes. To be specific, inflation expectations lead to a faster pace of
currency circulation. As inflation expectations rise, people feel that they will suffer losses due to the
weakness of purchase power, and therefore do not want to continue to hold trading and preventive
currency. This will speed up the flow of money, resulting in more money is created in the market and
rising price level. Moreover, inflation expectations often makes people to increase the purchase of real
or financial assets rather than holding the money, considering hedge risk or make investment. As a
result, the monetary supply become overabundance so that promote the rise of price level.
Dotsey and King (1983) implied the aggregate supply and rational expectation theory to explore the
monetary policy. Consequently, they suggest that the supply hypothesis and rational expectation are
conducive to the draft of an activist monetary policy. Therefore, the implementation of the policy of
the central bank should make the general price level changes can be identified by economic agents.

discussed in class. (NOTE: For better numerical precision and to get good results in Excel, use prices
in 100s. That is if the quote is $150 per person for a contract, use $1.5 per person in the MLE
calculations.) b) Based on the fitted logit curve, what is the price (per person) that maximizes expected
revenue per event? What is the expected revenue per transaction for that price? c) Assuming the
annual number of inquiries remains the same, what would be the total expected revenue for the
company if the price you determined in part (b) is used? How does the annual expected revenue
compare to the total revenue earned by Copa in 2007? 2) Analyze the data to determine whether there

Mistakes In Sweat And The Gilded Six Bit
Everybody in their life has made mistakes, but there is a difference between the small mistakes that
people make on a daily basis, and those that can cause life altering events. In the three Zora Neal
Hurston stories, Sweat, Spunk, and The Gilded Six Bit, characters all make terrible mistakes that
affect the people that they love most. The outcomes of each story though are very different as the
characters face tough choices and deal with them in very different ways. Though these situations deal
with many of the same issues, the ability or inability for those in the stories to forgive individuals
shows their true character and values. In The Gilded Six Bits Joe and Missie May are able to forgive
one another because they both realize that their spouse isn t perfect, but in Sweat, Delia cannot forgive

Why Was The Great Wall Worth Building Dbq
This is a quote from a soldier guarding the walls perspective. We fight south of the wall, we die north

China. The Great Wall of China was built in Asia, north of China. The chinese built it during the

was not worth building, because it caused many deaths, tore families apart, and was not well
constructed.
One reason why the Great Wall was not worth building, is because it caused many deaths. In a chart it
says According to poetry and legends, tens of thousands of soldiers died from hunger, sickness, and
extreme heat or cold. No exact number of deaths are available. (Document E). This source shows that
many people died from defending the wall and cruel temperatures, hunger and sickness. For doing this
you earn nothing in return. That the wall couldn t even defend it self. In a poem it says The cavalry

the title, this art piece is laden with different characteristics of representation and symbolism that
narrate the artist s story behind the artwork.
A close examination of this piece concluded that this artwork is a form of propaganda; which serves
the purpose of showing the power, prestige and authority of a figure. The artist purposefully made the
middle figure the most captivating and attention drawing figure for this reason. As such this papers
focal point of analysis will be studying the different artistic tools the artist used to bring out this
particular form of propaganda.

The elaborate accessories he wears on his hands feet and across his chest not only differentiate him
from his subjects but also aid in showing his wealth and high status. His headgear is more detailed and
different from the warriors, the attendants have none; further highlighting the significance of the chief.
It is difficult to not notice the chiefs powerful stare and stern facial expression. His eyes and nose sizes
are clearly larger than that of the other figures to make his face more menacing to highlight his
dominance and charge. He is clutching a spear on his left hand symbolizing how he exerts power over
the warriors. The chief does not carry much; he is not as carrying as much as the warriors and
attendants. In one hand he holds a flat fan looking object, whose designs suggest that it is an
ornamental object that possibly displays his prestige and is not a weapon or

Essay about The Aspects of Multiculturalism in Canada
A country built on immigration, Canada has long had a reputation of being culturally and ethnically
diverse. While multiculturalism is meant to be built on equality and appreciation of different cultures,
its concept has gained both support and opposition. On one hand, it allows for more assortment and
the voices of minorities have a higher chance to be heard. On the other hand, loss of unity and
conflicts may occur due to contrasting worldviews of the citizens. All in all, multiculturalism is a
controversial policy that has both advantages and disadvantages, but has proven to be a successful
strategy in Canada.
Multiculturalism has many positive effects, including but not limited to freedom of religion and
beliefs, increased ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Negative aspects of multiculturalism are also in effect, such as incoherence within a nation, loss of
national identity, and conflicts among different ethnic groups. First of all, while differences are
highlighted and encouraged, they are also a cause of disjointedness among the different ethnic groups
in a country because they fail to function as one nation, instead forming small communities. This often
causes a lack of communication between such ethnic groups and leads to a loss of unity in a country.
Furthermore, immigration and pluralism often lead to a diminishment or complete disappearance of
national identity in a multicultural country. An example of this is Canada because it was created on the
basis of immigration without having its own distinct culture from the beginning, but choosing to
include different cultures instead to become what is known today as a multicultural society. While
generally it is seen in a positive light, it often raises concern that the country s identity may disappear
altogether in the future. Finally, intense pluralism is oftentimes a reason for riots and conflicts,
indirectly related to immigrants or ethnicity. For example, in France tension among ethnic groups and
riots have happened in the past because of the conditions of the communities where the original
immigrants settled in, combining high unemployment rates and discrimination. ( France Riots )

  • 2. The Story Of George T. Slobonik Rings George T. Slobonik, age fifty one, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Main Town Health Facility. Husband of Rita Slobonik nee Goldrick. Resting at Kenwick Funeral Home with visitation from two to four and seven to nine on Friday. . . . And so it read in The Observer. She lost her husband. I lost my wife a year ago. I had it figured. I d go at five minutes to nine when everyone had cleared out. But would she remember me? It had been twenty five years. I thought of her every day. We d gone together for six or seven months and split because I was a damn immature fool. I was going to give her an engagement ring. I told her so, and she said, Wouldn t it be wise to get a better car? Well, I thought if I asked a girl to marry me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I heard your wife died about a year ago. With my arms around her, in condolence, I kissed her lightly on her cheek and she responded with a kiss smack on my lips. That was when words popped from my mouth, words I hadn t considered: Will you marry me? An expression of ambivalence left me feeling a damn stupid fool, again. I was looking at the empty casket, save for a small brass urn inside. Cremation? I asked. Indeed, she replied, no doubt you heard about George? No. One is not supposed to speak ill of the dead, but our marriage was dead. His extramarital activities caught up. It was either cirrhosis of the liver or HIV. The doctor concluded HIV won. We haven t been together for over three years. I m only here because he had no one else. Yes, I will marry you. I ve thought about you many times. Do we start where we left off, and how s your car? she asked with a grin. Her friends gave me the cold shoulder. Two weeks went by. I was unable to make contact. How dumb can a guy get? It took that long to realize I d been dumped. This time I guess it was her turn. Seven or eight months passed when I heard she got married. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You don t need us any longer. Alright, Peter, we accept, Lyle reluctantly agreed. What, no, we don t accept, Kim sneered. We take what we want and we re taking the damn cure. Then, we re taking him. Am I, I responded to her, my tone dead serious. Alright, alright! Lyle shouted. Peter, you win. Someone get Anna down and out of those chains. But , Kim began. But, nothing, Lyle said cutting her off. Do as I say. Several of the Alliance members began working to free Anna, and I watched as she slowly inched her way closer to the ground. Once back on the Shed s cement floor, a man and a woman worked to remove her from her iron imprisonment. Alright, now she s free. Give us the cure, Lyle demanded. Not until she s safely with me, I told him. But, here s what I will do. I ll place the cure here on the ground and then I ll back away from it. The closer Anna gets to me, the further I move away and the sooner, it s all yours. If you or any of your goons rush us, I begin firing at you or maybe I begin firing at the cure. Do you think I m a good enough shot to hit it? Try me and find out. Fine, Lyle agreed. Get her out of those chains already, he ordered. Once free of the gag, Anna called out to me in that feisty, spirited charm of hers, Peter, just shoot these mother fuckers! she screamed. She then filled her lungs so she could speak again. Put one right between that bitch s eyes, she said referring to Kim. I should have bashed your head in like a piñata when I had the chance! Kim erupted as she responded to Anna s threat. ... • 4. Symbolism In The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls By Henry... Henry Longfellow and John Whitter both used symbolism to juristically make their writing more appealing and full of elements. For Longfellow it was The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls ..In the poem, The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls , the theme to me is surrounded around the fact of life goes on. The rise and fall of the tides in the ocean represent the way life is a roller coaster and it goes up and down and never slows down. An example to relate to the theme is when Longfellow says The day returns, but nevermore Returns the traveller to the shore, and the tide rises, the tide falls. While he claims this it supports the fact that this is about life changing, it supports it because once the day comes to an end, and the traveller (person living life) is at rest from a long day, the tide rises and falls. In other ways, life still goes on. Now as for John Whitter s poem, Snowbound, I believe the theme for this piece of literature is overcoming the odds. The setting I thought of was in a little cabin that was trying its best to stand tall through a harsh winter storm. The heat in doors was limited and the family inside was just trying to make it through what seemed like a never ending storm. In the poem one line that caught my eye about them overcoming the odds was We watched the first red blaze appear, Heard the sharp crackle, caught the gleam, On whitewashed wall and sagging beam, . While he claims this is supports the fact that this is about how regardless of the situation, no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Intro Cultivating animals and crops takes countless amount of hours and use an abundance of resources; furthermore, it produces waste that can be harmful to the environment. The human population is increasing at an ever increasing rate and scientists all over the world are trying to solve a global issue. It is estimated by the UN that the population will hit 9.7 billion by 2050; undoubtedly, these inefficient and wasteful processes will not suffice. What about insects, there are plentiful in supply and are packed with proteins and other nutrients that the body needs; furthermore, using insects in our main diets will decrease the need for domesticated animals which causes creates problems for everyone; in contrast to insects, which have versatile ways for people to choose from, use less resources, and produce less waste. Lastly, if we decrease the population of insects it will actually benefit society by limiting the amount of infestation and their effects on crops, trees, etc. (DeFoliart, 1992) (Premalatha, 2011) (Verkerka, Trampera, Trijpb, Martensa, 2007). This proposal will examine the nutrients, environmental impacts, ethics, and effectiveness of an insect diet and will then be presented through a tri fold board with clear pictures, statistics and information about this topic. • 6. Elizabeth Woodville And Anne Boleyn Women throughout history rarely receive attention for more than superficial causes: their influence on style, manners, or less. However, many women found themselves contributing to the formation of postmodern constructs of marriage for love, partnership, and fidelity. Foremost among these, temporally and popularly, are the examples of Elizabeth Woodville and Anne Boleyn. Undoubtedly, these cases hold great significance to cultural studies of the temporal periods in which the English identify as participants, but they also aid in seeing the eventual popular degradation of women from chaste matrons and aloof maidens to lusty bawds and traitorous whores. By this degradation and extensive primary sources, scholars can easily find these women as examples of the use of one s image for power in redefining concepts of queenship, and also women who set the standard to view the gradual combination of partner and lover in understanding social history. Aristocratic women in the Court system as a whole find relatively little attention by the most popular works on its culture. David Starkey , Alison Weir , and David Gunn , even though they offer insights on topic largely relegated to popular histories and romances; women, in fact, receive little merit for their Courtly careers. Yet, it is important to recognize that the late medieval and Tudor Court offered an increasing number of roles for women to fill, as well as, a semblance of stability. • 7. The Exposition Of Hamlet By William Shakespeare Essay According to David Ball, in his book Forwards and Backwards, you can t begin to find a play s meaning until you comprehend its works (Ball 3). William Shakespeare s Hamlet is an excellently written dramatic tragedy, that when analyzed well, is a dynamically diverse piece of literature. Hamlet is an ideal play for analyzing, with much exposition, clear stasis and intrusion, good use of theatrical elements, suspenseful forwards, and multiple cause and effect triggers and heaps. The exposition in Hamlet is in constant development throughout act I, scenes i and ii, as the characters, in a natural way, give the audience information about the current state of Denmark. From the first scene of act I, it is revealed that the characters Horatio, Bernardo, Francisco, and Marcellus, are guards for the palace in Denmark. As they speak, the audience realizes that for the last few nights an apparition has been appearing at the same time every night, midnight, the time when the play begins. More exposition is then revealed through Horatio as he speaks about the ghost and it s possible relationship to the previous war against Norway, as well as the effects the war had on the characters present. Our last king, whose image even but now appeared to us, was, as you know, by Fortinbras of Norway, thereto pricked on by a most emulate pride, dared to the combat; in which our valiant Hamlet for so this side of our known world esteemed him did slay this Fortinbras; who by a sealed compact well ... • 8. Compare And Contrast The Concentration Of Hydrochloric... Considering the data and evidence collected from both primary, secondary and additional sources, I can conclude that my hypothesis, which suggests that the higher the food colouring concentration, the steeper the gradient of diffusion reaction, is valid. To support my hypothesis I will refer to my primary, secondary and additional evidence to explain my conclusions in depth. Firstly, if we consider the data collected in tables from my primary and secondary evidence, we can see that the values of the range of diffusion reaction are higher when the concentration of food colouring dye used is higher in percentage. Specifically, when the concentration is at 0%, there is no diffusion reaction at all. In contrast, as we increase the percentage of food dye used by a specific set value (+20% each time) the distance (radius or diameter) of food dye formed from diffusion around the well becomes steeper. For example, 20% of food dye concentration diffused presents the lowest means: 12.3mm (primary data) and 2.3mm (secondary data, where the radius has been measured instead of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Agar is remarkably related. To be specific, diffusion is a process in which substances move down a concentration gradient, from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration to reach the equilibrium. When a well is filled with a specific food dye, the well becomes the area of high concentration. It eventually diffuses through agar, (agar being the region having no concentration of food dye particles) at a certain rate, depending on the concentration of the food dye to reach the equilibrium. When doing my practical and collecting data, food dye with higher concentration diffused through agar had a bigger gradient of diffusion(bigger area around the wells), which presents higher values exactly as I predicted in my ... The sample size is too small for me to make a conclusion about my overall long term food habit. 2) Due to the flexibility of my schedule, the lunch and dinner times vary. This could probably worsen my food habit due to possible binge eating (citation: international journal of eating disorder), and a higher chance of choosing energy dense foods. 3) During school days, the food I consume will mainly be prepared by someone else, so it would ... • 10. Example Of Heroism In Beowulf Question four Beowulf is determined as a hero in my eyes, throughout the brave and heroic attributes that he had undertaken within this poem. When defining a hero in our first week of class, we had come up with the idea that a hero is someone who is: selfless, has strength, sacrifices everything that they have for the greater good and shows confidence. Beowulf has shown all of these attributes beginning with being selfless. Beowulf came to the Danes because he knew that he needed to not only keep his kingdom safe, but surrounding kingdoms. Beowulf s heroism was defined on these next couple of lines. On line 193, There was no one else like him alive. In his day, he was the mightiest man on earth, high born and powerful. He ordered a boat that would ply the waves. He announced his plan (Heaney, 15, 193 196). Beowulf knew the dangers that fighting this demon could bring, but he sacrificed everything he had. If Beowulf would have lost the battle, his Kingdom (Geats) would have been left with nothing and Hrothgars kingdom would still be under attack. Beowulf also shows his strength throughout the poem. When Beowulf arrives at the Danes, he shows no fear. Beowulf speaks with Hrothgar to learn what is true about his threat. Beowulf speaks giving the Danes much hope, line 294 whatever it is, this danger abroad in the dark nights, I come to proffer my wholehearted help and counsel (Heaney, 21, 294 298). Beowulf is a hero and a leader, even if we look at him within modern times. Beowulf shows cause and reason to why he is at the Danes, he creates leadership upon his men and he has shown devotion towards this cause of wanting to defeat Grendal the demon in the poem. Every move Beowulf takes in this poem is what I believe we would want in the modern times of war. We want a leader that will be able to take charge and follow through with the actions they speak upon. In modern time, we also want a leader that protects our land and has their best opinion out for their Country. We want a leader like Beowulf. There is times that as a reader one could think that he is only completing these heroic attributes to uphold his overall reputation of himself, but isn t that everyone s main goal when completing a monumental task? ... Personnel Economics Application Paper Personnel Economics Application Paper Tournament is a kind of reward system where fixed rewards are used for a fixed group of people and the distribution of rewards is based on the order of the participants performance (Lazear amp; Oyer, 2009, p. 9). In this particular situation, four agents in one of Mitch amp; Murray s offices are given a strong incentive to succeed in a sales tournament. Mitch amp; Murray uses a set of prizes that diminish in value as a person s relative performance gets lower. The good leads are locked in the office manager s room and they will not be distributed until the end of the contest. (Glengarry Glen Ross, n.d.). After he realizes that no matter how hard he work, his sales performance will barely improve, he becomes desperate. At that point, the cost of effort for him is too high which makes the prize unachievable, and thus provides no incentive for him to exert effort anymore. With those old leads, luck becomes relatively more important to the final success and effort relatively less important. In such case, workers will try less hard to win because effort has a smaller effect on whether or not they win (Lazear amp; Oyer, 2009, p. 10). This is why he soon gives up working on the old leads but to flatter, threaten, and bribe the office manager to get good leads which can reduce the cost of his effort and diminish the importance of luck. However, the result is quite unexpected His attempt to get good leads does not work out so he finally helps Dave to steal and sell the good leads to another company. This result may not be explained by tournament theory but can be explained by economic theories Homo economicus all want to maximize their own profit or utility at the lowest cost (Homo economicus, n.d.). Stealing and selling the leads may be a risky move but the profit it brings to Shelly exceeds the risk plus the profit he may gain from working on the old leads, and that ... The Cash Flow Sensitivity of Sash Research Question Does the link between financial constraints and firms demand for liquidity can help us identify whether financial constraints are an important determinant of firm behavior. Contribution Previous scholars, Fazzari, Hubbard, and Petersen, proposed that investment activities of a firm is limited by the firm s financial situation, which is called financial constraints. When firms face financial constraints, the firm s investment cash flow sensitivity is high. When a firm face no financial constraints, its investment cash flow sensitivity is low. However this theory was doubtful by some scholars. In 1997, Kaplan and Zingales propose an exactly opposite theory. In 2001, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The authors further test the intuition of our argument by investigating firms propensity to save cash out of cash inflow over the business cycle. Result The authors use two alternative method to empirically model the cash flow sensitivity of cash. The first model only include proxies: cash flow and investment opportunities. The second model is estimated from a method in which a firm s decision to change its cash holdings is modeled as a function of a number of sources and uses of funds. The result reported in table III is related to the first model. The set of constrained firms shows significantly positive sensitivities of cash to cash flow sensitivities. The sensitivity estimates for constrained firms are between 0.051 and 0.062 and are all statistically significant at better than the 1% level. The result reported in table IV is related to the second model. This finding is consistent with the view that there are systematic difference between constrained and unconstrained firms in the way they conduct their cash policies. He was transitioning from the performances he had honed during four solid years of addressing countless audiences and was developing, with greater energy than ever before, his profile as an accomplished author, critic, and editor. His discovery of Chatterton stands at the center of these changes. Paying close attention to Chatterton enabled Wilde to understand that the astonishing inventiveness of the Rowley forgeries evinced the imaginative impulse that inspired the finest forms of imaginative literature. Exploiting the links between imagination, authenticity, and truth, Chatterton s artistic originality arose in fabrications that conjured a literary past that historically never existed. Such fakes, Wilde knew from his reading about Chatterton, might strike some interpreters as the result of ungovernable, if not immoral, impulses. In the critical essays and shorter fiction that Wilde wrote from the mid 1880s onward, he radically inverted such interpretations. Throughout these essays, shorter fiction, and dramas, generous artistic license, lying, and even criminal intent become as we explain in later chapters the foundation for great art. • 32. St. Augustine of Hippo, Bishop and Theologian Essay St. Augustine, Bishop of Hippo, was one of the greatest theologians of his time. He is still regarded in the highest manner. He was raised in a divided home, but through time he found the truth. He was always a superb student. He fully mastered Latin; however, he never grasped Greek. He was also very crafty in speech a black belt of rhetoric if you will. After his teenage flings and rebellions, he found a heretical sect in which he became involved for a while. He traveled and landed in Milan for a while where he met the bishop. He then discovered that Christianity was a suitable religion for a philosopher. Finally, via Bishop Ambrose, Augustine converted to Christianity in 386. Later, he wrote books such as Confessions, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is Augustine saying that he always knew about Jesus and that his mother had taught him well, but he just never fully understood or let himself see Jesus until his true conversion. It was nothing that Monnica had not taught him, but his own hard headedness that kept him from seeing the truth. His father wanted Augustine to be a lawyer until they found that he had such an inclination for rhetoric. He became the top of his class and continued to excel in almost all his subjects. He swiftly mastered Latin; however, he never learned Greek, the reason being that his instructor was an abusive man and physically punished his students. Because of the association of the Greek language and this violent man, Augustine never could bring himself to learning it. He began to excel in rhetoric; in which, he would later make his career. Augustine had the potential to become a great politician because he could easily sway people with his words. As seen in history, many people who can talk well get elected, but the people with the real stuff do not get into the high offices. After his schooling, he went on to become a rhetoric professor in the city of Carthage. *5(Hutchins) His rhetoric was so good that in 377, he entered a poem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Rational Expectation Hypothesis Proposed By Lucas ( 1973 )... According to rational expectation hypothesis proposed by Lucas (1973) and Sargent (1971), economic participants can make full use of all the information they can get to forecast the future inflation and will not make systematic mistakes. To be specific, inflation expectations lead to a faster pace of currency circulation. As inflation expectations rise, people feel that they will suffer losses due to the weakness of purchase power, and therefore do not want to continue to hold trading and preventive currency. This will speed up the flow of money, resulting in more money is created in the market and rising price level. Moreover, inflation expectations often makes people to increase the purchase of real or financial assets rather than holding the money, considering hedge risk or make investment. As a result, the monetary supply become overabundance so that promote the rise of price level. Dotsey and King (1983) implied the aggregate supply and rational expectation theory to explore the monetary policy. Consequently, they suggest that the supply hypothesis and rational expectation are conducive to the draft of an activist monetary policy. Therefore, the implementation of the policy of the central bank should make the general price level changes can be identified by economic agents. Dotsey and King (1983) state that under the rational expectation assumption, the changes of money supply response to movements of interest rate can be identified by the agents in the economic ... That is if the quote is $150 per person for a contract, use $1.5 per person in the MLE calculations.) b) Based on the fitted logit curve, what is the price (per person) that maximizes expected revenue per event? What is the expected revenue per transaction for that price? c) Assuming the annual number of inquiries remains the same, what would be the total expected revenue for the company if the price you determined in part (b) is used? How does the annual expected revenue compare to the total revenue earned by Copa in 2007? 2) Analyze the data to determine whether there are multiple price segments. a) What is your segmentation criterion? The problem Krakauer had with the court system isn t just that they are not punishing an offender properly of a heinous crime. They are enabling them them to do it again, giving them the chance to ruin another person s life. If looked at, the effects of a sexual assault show why the rapist should serve a life sentence. The victims in this story revealed they were condemned to a life sentence the second they were taken advantage of in that way. While so many will say that rape should be punished the most severely as possible, Krakauer s book revealed the minute it came down to giving a sentence, jurors and judges, and even prosecutors had been and are lenient and soft in their convictions. While many government officials and police in Missoula have tried to change for the better after this scandal came to light, an even bigger one came to the surface from Krakauer s research. While multiculturalism is meant to be built on equality and appreciation of different cultures, its concept has gained both support and opposition. On the other hand, loss of unity and conflicts may occur due to contrasting worldviews of the citizens. Negative aspects of multiculturalism are also in effect, such as incoherence within a nation, loss of national identity, and conflicts among different ethnic groups. First of all, while differences are highlighted and encouraged, they are also a cause of disjointedness among the different ethnic groups in a country because they fail to function as one nation, instead forming small communities. This often causes a lack of communication between such ethnic groups and leads to a loss of unity in a country. Furthermore, immigration and pluralism often lead to a diminishment or complete disappearance of national identity in a multicultural country. An example of this is Canada because it was created on the basis of immigration without having its own distinct culture from the beginning, but choosing to include different cultures instead to become what is known today as a multicultural society. While generally it is seen in a positive light, it often raises concern that the country s identity may disappear altogether in the future. Finally, intense pluralism is oftentimes a reason for riots and conflicts, indirectly related to immigrants or ethnicity. For example, in France tension among ethnic groups and riots have happened in the past because of the conditions of the communities where the original immigrants settled in, combining high unemployment rates and discrimination.
