Cyber bullying involves mean-spirited messages posted anonymously online. Girls are more likely to be targets, and 40% of teenagers report being cyber bullied in the past year. Being cyber bullied can lead to low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and even suicide or dropping out of school. To stop cyber bullying, people should not say online what they wouldn't in person, tell adults of any incidents, and block communication with the cyber bully. Those being bullied should tell adults and stop contact with the cyber bully through blocking or avoiding certain sites. Working together can help reduce cyber bullying and its harmful impacts.
