Cole Stryker What Is Wrong With Public Shaming
What s wrong with public shaming? An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth (Hammurabi). Now
in this day and age most might say this is excessive, but when it comes to public shaming, far too
many are not quite as hesitant. In Cole Stryker s excerpt The Problem with Public Shaming, he
makes it quite clear that there are better ways to punish an individual rather than ruining their lives
by publicly humiliating them. Cole states public shaming is a thing of the past and should find
new ways to treat criminals, that to dox (digging up of a target s personal information) an
individual is harmful to both parties, and stating that public shaming is counterproductive. An eye
for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth a collection of 282 laws... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is human nature for people to get even with whomever does them wrong. Hollywood the
movie industry has made and is going to make countless moves on people getting their revenge.
This human reaction not only distances oneself from the right to logic, but leaves no room for
the chance of forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is resentment towards a certain person or
a multitude of people. Cole gives many examples of the counterproductive ways that deal with
public shaming. For example, when someone is effected by a crime and they look for help from
local police forces, but are rejected from such task force. This rejection now casts an ideology
that all police officers do not care, in return leaving a disdainful image of all police officers. Now
with the case Black Lives Matter, this organization preaches to the masses that police officers
are patrolling the streets look for young black men to kill. This movement stemmed from no
justice being brought forward to the accused criminal. There has been multiple incidents like the
one previously stated which is why such a hatred has been casted upon all police forces in
America. Rather than jailing the person responsible, a mere slap on the wrist is all that happens.
Police officers all over America are scared to do their job, living in the shadows trying to keep
themselves on the right side of the ledger. Trying to keep as much distance as possible away from
groups trying to inflict

The Civil Rights Of The Grass Roots Level Dr. Martin...
As discussed previously, JFK started awareness for Civil Rights, his actions in Birmingham,
coupled with the media coverage; however, it was LBJ s ability to use his connections in congress
to pass laws that changed the face of voting and civil right throughout the United States. As far as
the leadership at the Grass roots level Dr. Martin Luther King is the most famous, due to the
nonviolent protests and boycotts; however Rosa Parks, Aurelia Browder, and Louise Keys, were
the catalysis for the grass roots movement. Although not much is mentioned of these individuals.
President s Eisenhower, JFK and LBJ along with the sitting justices on the Supreme Court share
credit on the national level. Firstly the Presidents by supporting Supreme Court decisions, calling
congress to pass laws, and taking action when States clearly chose to disregard the law, and the
Courts by applying the intent of the Constitution and declaring laws unjust while supporting
unpopular laws because the met the intent of the Constitution. I don t believe that one person alone
mattered the most, the nonviolent protest by Dr. Martin Luther King coupled by his speech on the
steps of the Lincoln memorial were very powerful, but without action by the courts, the leaders in
congress and the Presidency. However, the media played a large part in how the American public
viewed civil rights, when images of dogs attacking nonviolent protesters, people beaten and killed
because of color changes the view of right and

Informative Letter On Jesus
I m writing to you in regards to Jesus E. Ramirez Granados, his hearing is on April 4, 2017. His
charges are 2 counts of burglary and 1 count of theft and his bail is set to 250,000. I know its
impossible for you to take the time to learn who each and everyone of the people that walk in
front of you everyday really are. So I was hoping I could shed some light on who Jesus is. The
Jesus that got arrested on March 22, 2017 is not the Jesus that I know. That is not the Jesus that
his friends and family know. That is not the person he truly is. This is the first time he has ever
done anything like this, and I can t honestly tell you indefinite why he committed the crimes he
committed. I do however assume it had to do with the pressure of financial hardship that he and
his family have fallen on, and that is by no regards an excuse for his behavior or actions. At the
time he was under the influence of alcohol and I believe had he not been drinking that night, this
would not have happened. Jesus does indeed have an alcohol problem which is clear, seeing as the...

think him admitting that he has a problem and that he s done wrong is the first step to him doing
better and getting better. I want to thank you for taking time to read my letter, I appreciate it so

It s an intricate dance between a number of visual and mental processes, one that s highly
dependent on language. Unlike speech, reading and writing are, to borrow a phrase from
evolutionary psychologist and linguist Steven Pinker, cognitively unnatural. Parents don t have to
teach an infant to speak it s simply a human instinct. Writing, on the other hand, doesn t come
naturally. Why does this matter? Rather than being a purely visual process, both reading and
writing piggyback on language and speech. This has profound consequences for how humans
process and understand writing, consequences that almost all speed reading techniques ignore or
distort. Ignore the Voice in Your Head Take one of the more common bad guys in the world of
speed reading: sub vocalization. This is the inner speech readers hear in their heads as they read
silently. Because we all learn to speak and listen before we learn to read, almost everyone tends to
access the sounds of speech when they read, says

Consensual Nonmonogamy
In 2009 the estimated population of people in polyamorous relationships was half a million. An
estimated 4 to 5 percent of Americans, already in relationships, look outside of their relationships
for more love, with their partners permission. People in [polyamorous] relationships really
communicate. They communicate to death, said Bjarne Holmes, a psychologist at Champlain
College in Vermont, in comparison to the levels of communication in single relationships( New
Sexual Revolution ). Consensual nonmonogamy is a relatively new subject in most relationship

Should they have the right to feel safe and happy, no matter their means of getting there? Maybe
if there were more answers to the questions people have, just maybe then polyamory wouldn t be
such a scary thing. For instance, many people question whether polyamory is all about physical
attention. The answer is yes and no. No because the center attraction to polyamory tends to be the
love or the amor and the focus is mostly on relationships; yes because there are always physical
attention properties in almost every relationship. Another question that is commonly asked is
whether polyamory and adultery are similar or go hand in hand. This is not true, polyamory is
about a consensual love that is equal amongst all three members ( Polyterms Aphroweb). The last
question, that is asked quite often, is if someone supports or is in a polyamorous relationship, are
they considered anti monogamy ( The Downside of Polyamory Deborah Anapol Ph.D). No, this is
not true. People can be whatever they want and not have to immediately be apposed of the
opposite. It s like if someone has a preference towards Star Trek, that doesn t immediately mean
they hate Star Wars when in fact they enjoy both and just happen to have a preference towards

Julius Caesar Leadership Analysis
The idea of leadership is completely dependent of the concept of the power that comes with it.
Those who are put into these leadership positions could take one of two routes, they could lead
socially or personally. The social form of leading is when the man or woman who is in power, is
genuinely thinking for their people and doing what they believe in favor and best for the
people, the personal form of leadership is derived from the greedy and self centeredness that
people can possess because it is when they work for their own increase of power or money. There
is also the opportunity for a social leader to act unjustly and immorally but not true selfishness. In
the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesarhe see several men gain more power and some change
because of it. The first of the three men is Julius Caesar, Julius is introduced after he gains the
power and love from the people so it is difficult to know how he changed from what he was
before but the stories and experiences told from other characters can be used to gauge how
drastically the power changed him. The second man is Marcus Brutus, throughout the play he talks
of strong and just morals that he believes in and is incapable to break those ethics that are so
deeply seeded in him. The third and last mans change through power is that of Gaius Cassius, his
gain into power was in the same form as that of Brutus yet the beliefs and wants of the men were
separate. Cassius role throughout the play was that of a manipulator

Roman Slaves
The ends aimed at in building Negro cabins should be: first, the health and comfort of the
occupants; second the convenience of nursing, surveillance, discipline, and the supply of food and
water; and thirdly, economy of construction...their houses should be provided with large glass
windows. Light and air are necessary to the proper making of blood.
Even though the conditions appear favorable, these instructions are not to be mistaken for
kindness. Seeing that the average cost of a slave in the American South in 1850 was equivalent to
$40,000 in today s dollars, slaves were an economic investment for the master. Keeping them well
kept was necessary so their labor will pay their cost off while eventually turning into profit.

First, there needs to be distinguished whether Ancient Rome, Nineteenth Century American South,

that the Nineteenth Century American South was a slave society while Ancient Rome and
contemporary Dubai can be categorized as societies with slaves. The American South relied nearly
solely on race based labor for plantations and this subordinate relationship further perpetuated post
emancipation with black codes and Jim Crow laws. However, while slavery was persistent in

director, who focuses on the story. Unlike movies, multiple directors need to work together to

The Last of Us fits into the survival horror genre in a zombie apocalypse scenario, limiting the

Single Gene Disorder
When a certain gene is known to cause a disease, it is referred as a single gene disorder or a
Mendelian disorder. These disorders involve mutations in the DNA sequences of single genes.
As a result, the protein the gene codes for is either altered or missing (Landsverk, 2013). Few
examples of single gene disorders includes cystic fibrosis, sickle cell disease, Fragile X
syndrome, muscular dystrophy, or Huntington disease. As a rule, single gene disorders are not
very common. For example, only one in 2,500 people are born with cystic fibrosis. There are a
number of inheritance patterns of single gene disorders that are predictable when you know what
they are. There are three main transmission patterns: autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive, and

Collaborative Family Law
If you are concerned about the adversarial nature of divorce, you are not alone. Taking your
divorce to court can be emotionally hard for you and your family and can put a strain on your
financial resources. Fortunately, there is a way to execute your divorce without posing you and
your spouse against each other. Collaborative family lawis a form of alternative dispute resolution.
A collaborative dissolution is one where two spouses work together with the help of a team of
divorceprofessionals to form a settlement agreement. It allows the spouses to by pass the litigation
process by providing the professional guidance needed to settle their divorce in a fair and respectful
manner.
What Are the Benefits of a Collaborative Dissolution?
Working with, rather than against, your spouse has several advantages. It allows you and your
spouse to be in command of your divorce, as opposed to allowing the judge to make the important
decisions for you. A collaborative dissolution can also help you and your spouse develop and
maintain the ability to respectfully communicate after the divorce. Respectful communication is
helpful if you have minor children still in your care. Honesty and full disclosure are essential to
the process, making it easier for both spouses to reach an agreement based off of the important
facts. The team approach ensures all those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

dangerous disease although it is no fatal but it can contribute to the failure of one of the bodies
most important senses which is blindness. In most cases, glaucomais correlated with high pressure

Introduction
Enzymes are molecules that catalyzes a chemical reaction by either increasing or
decreasing the chemical reaction up to an extent. Inhibitors are substances which slows
down a chemical reaction by reducing the activity of either a catalyst, substrates or the
enzymes. Most of the enzymes are proteins. They lower the activation energy of a certain
chemical reaction. Activation energy is a certain amount of energy required for the
reactants to convert in to products. If they cross the energy barrier, they convert in to
products. So enzymes don t allow the substrates to cross the barrier by lowering the
activation energy. Enzyme s characteristic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hypothesis is an explanation for an observed phenomenon that can be tested. In this
experiment there are different factors affecting the enzyme activity like determining
baseline reaction kinetics, varying substrate concentration, effect of changing pH on
enzyme activity, and determining the effect of other factors on enzyme activity. Each factor

Graphic Novel American Born Chinese By Gene Yang
The fact that the book, American Born Chinese, was written as a graphic novel is no coincidence.
Author Gene Yang had this purposely done to help the reader understand what he was trying to
convey. Through the use of all different comic making techniques, Yang creates a masterpiece of a
graphic novel which vividly conveys the message of growing up as a Chinese immigrant in
America and the struggles they face so they can successfully assimilate in America. Probably the
most effective technique that Yang uses, the use of realistic vs conceptual world allows Yang to

The idea of people becoming a totally different person in the matter of hours is totally
unrealistic. For Jin to change into a totally new person wouldn t make sense to do in a traditional
novel. It would be out of place and just would confuse the reader. This probably has something to
do with the fact that graphic novel s aren t taken so seriously. Comics/Graphic Novels are
perceived as new media. Most of the time new media is misunderstood or is taken as a joke. For
example, when books first came out, people were probably telling their kids to stop reading so

The colour used is important to the artwork because together they create a place of tranquillity
meeting on coming havoc.
The lines that are used do not outline individual objects in the painting but define the shapes of
each. They show the direction that the artist took when painting this particular art piece. They are
delicate and sensitive lines in the sense that they are not always visible but they still define the
object.
The painting has been painted to a deep 2D form. This form creates an illusion of a large amount
of space. As if to create the illusion that you were looking out past the village towards the horizon.
This was important so to capture the full effect of havoc reaching the harmony.
The shape of the artwork is soft and flowing into each section. By using this format the artist has
created a piece of volume and depth.
Interpretation
A peaceful village in a sense of harmony with an on coming storm, darkness and gloom. The black
birds are flying out of the impending doom to shelter.
My interpretation of what is happening is the village is peaceful sort of like the soul and then the
storm comes and suddenly everything is in havoc. As if the painter had some form of inner turmoil
when painting.
The painter is trying to say that nothing is ever peaceful forever and eventually darkness will
come. He was looking out over the village and saw the oncoming storm on the horizon and the
black birds fleeing and it reflected his inner

submit a loaded gun to the laboratory unless its delivered personally because of safety reasons,
the cylinder or chamber should never be cleaned before presenting firearm evidence to the lab

One has to be sure not to mistaken serial numbers with model or patent numbers. Firearms

Grendel Character Analysis
When first reading through the book it is hard to fully comprehend and understand what the
author is using Grendel to get the reader to understand. Even still there are many parts and pieces
of the story and everyone has different thoughts or theories about it. As the author takes us
through Grendel s story it is easy to feel sympathy for such a creature who is portrayed as a
villain due to his stranger appearance. Eventually it is due to how the humans treat him and are
frightened of him that truly pushes him over the edge to becoming the villain they fear him to be.
Personally I believe that is the point of the story to show us how we treat others around us may
ultimately lead to harm.
Given that Grendel is originally a villain from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course everyone has choices and realistically Grendel made some pretty stupid decisions. You
d be fully justified in believing that him to be the villain, truly, perhaps it s simply the author s
fault for falling into the every great hero needs a monster to fight trap, mayhaps it be the
circumstance of his birth. However the blame for his descent into violence and killing humans
should also be blamed on the humans themselves who make no effort to attempt to understand or
communicate with him. Maybe it was just the time period the story was set, in but the humans are
depicted as violent and ignorant, worshiping false gods and practicing pointless religions,
according to Grendel, but can you truly say something similar would not happen in this day and
age? Grendel would be hunted down, lauded as a monster, a murder, and an abomination. Taken in
by scientists to be dissected and studied. In both times given his monstrous appearance, Grendel
would be unable to live his life to the fullest and his angst in the story reflects that though he desires
knowledge being unable to communicate with the humans and his mother leaves him alone and
emotionally stunted. He does not have an outlet so to speak to pour out his conflicting emotions too
and this lets him bottle it up inside and he lacks the understanding to know what he is feeling and
how he should react.

Arguments Against Universal Health Care
In the United States many issues seem to arise during times of struggle and what some consider
unfairness. One of these being the topic of health care. As this problem popped up so did some
solutions did as well. One of these being a universal health care. That to some would seem to get
rid of all this unfair health care problem all together. However, others say that with a universal
health care, the costs would rise and the quality could rapidly degrade. Both of these sides show
very true factual evidence for their supporting claims.
As many people had supposed for quite a while now is the idea of a universal health care, an idea
of which is to give healthcare to all in a nation regardless if they pay for it or not. To some it
would completely and utterly get rid of all these bad incidents happening to many whom do not
have health care. It also would make it more equal, and instead of some getting health care,
everyone would have healthcare. There would be no need for any of these health problems most
poor and some middle class people have to face. Instead there would be health care for every
person in the United States. This idea would be highly beneficial to the poor and the ones who don
t have healthcare or simply cannot afford it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many who do not favor universal health care have some really valid and truthful points as to
why it would be a bad idea. As said the people who already have health care fear that the quality
of care would degrade and would make care quality worse. Others find it unfair to have to pay
for others who simply are too lazy or inconsiderate to work to get their own health care. As harsh
it that may sound it is considered true and would affect all those who already do pay for healthcare

dysphagia population, only studying patients whom had suffered a CVA. The sample size of this
study was limited due to the numerous subjects who declined participation after education of the
protocol or because they did not meet the inclusion criteria. Even though there were no instances of
aspiration pneumonia in the group who was allowed the free water protocol, this study is limited in

FWP study group had a much higher patient satisfaction compared to their modified diet of

Vark Questionnaire Paper
VARK is a questionnaire of about 16 questions that provides people with their preference of
learning style. The learning styles that VARK offers can help people develop additional and
effective strategies for learning and for making your communication skills better. The styles that
this questionnaire determines are Visual, Aural, Read/Write, Kinesthetic, or you can be multimodal
which means you have a multiple learningpreference. In this paper I will summarize the results
received after taking the questionnaire and the other learning styles. After taking the questionnaire it
was learned that some individuals, such as this author are multimodal learners. What multimodal
means is you have multiple preferences. Majority of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The last learning style that VARK offers is read/write learning style. You prefer to write things
down and receive handouts on new material. The library is a preferred area of study, and choice
when gathering information on a topic.
After completing the VARK questionnaire this author feels that the results were pretty accurate.
She feels that she learns best when applying areas of study to real life experience and to personal
experiences. She also finds herself writing many things down, high lighting, and drawing out things
when trying to remember something. This author took another survey on another website to see
what the preferred learning style showed. After completion it showed this author is a visual and
tactile/kinesthetic learner, which matched the VARK results.
In the future there are a few things this author needs to work on to improve her study habits.
Although this writer has in the past used the learning styles previously mentioned, she may have
not been using them correctly. Why highlighting can help to pinpoint the main idea or important
information, there is a thing as highlighting too much. This author needs to be able to determine
what is pertinent and when something is not as important. In the past she has highlighted too much
information, and perhaps has highlighted the same information twice. Also note taking so be
minimized, and not writing everything down, which she has done in the past.

The Reign Of The Carolingian Dynasty
Although the reign of the Carolingian dynasty occupied only a brief part of the entirety of the
medieval era, the Carolingian Empire that was established during that period made both a historical
and cultural impact on medieval society that would resonate for years to come. Until the empire
fell in 888, the Carolingian House of the Franksinitially brought stability and progress to most of
Europe, as well as pioneering a cultural and intellectual renaissance that influenced the remainder of
the Middle Ages. Although there were various Carolingian rulers who aided these advances, it is
fair to say that Carolingian developments reached their peak during the reign of Charlemagne, a
leader and reformer of the church who fully appreciated the importance of learning and education.
Throughout his reign, he established himself, as a ruler, and his empire as an example that
subsequent Kings of the Middle Ages would aim to obtain and uphold. In addition, Charlemagne
created a cultural legacy that allowed the empire to prosper and formed links between the
medieval world and the ancient world. With this in mind, this essay will principally explore the
positive aspects of the Carolingian legacy and the ways in which they were fundamental to the
development of medieval society, focusing on the most significant successes during the reign of
Charlemagne. It will also briefly touch upon the role of other Carolingian leaders as well as the
societal impact of the eventual dissolution of the

Density of Sprite and Diet Sprite
Abstract:
The density of regular Sprite was found to be 1.037 +/ g/mL. compared to Diet Sprite which was
0.9965 +/ g/mL. Among the three volumetric glassware Pipette was most precise (Гі=0.0016 g
/mL). Burette was the second best (Гі=0.0023 g/mL) and graduated cylinder was the least precise
(Гі= 0.007 g/mL). Density was found to be intensive property. The slope of the graph of mass
against volume was 1.05 g/mL, with the best linear fit for the data.

The variation of data on the graph may be the result of systematic or random errors. In this
experiment, volume is the independent variable which affected the mass calculated by the
weighing balance. Figure 1 also pointed out the precision of the three glassware used to
measure the volume. Pipette seemed to be the most precise instrument to use for measuring
volume because most of the Diet Sprite and all of the regular Sprite densities were calculated
very closely. Burette was also accurate but not as precise as pipette. There are some points on
burette chart that go very high or very low. This is probably because the volume was not
measured accurately. Another error that altered the data was the beaker used to measure the
mass might have some solution in it already and thus mass of the solution increased. Mistakes
such as wrong measurement or calculations also affected the graph. Pipette is the most precise
because almost all the points are close to each other whereas graduated cylinder is the least
precise because the data is vastly spread on the graph 1. Figure 1: shows measurements of Diet
and regular Sprite with three different volumetric glassware The % error for regular sprite for
three kinds of volumetric glassware was calculated using the group data of regular Sprite from all
three labs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday by getting the average and subtracting it from the
average of resulted densities in

The Impact Of Digital Transformation On A Learning...
This evaluation is a workplace based, qualitative research design that attempts to collect knowledge
of the complexities of adoption, teacher attitudes, and other data regarding the impact of the digital
transformation to a learning management system. Research focuses on 24 interviews of teachers
across the district, and factors that influence their decision to adopt or not adopt the district s
learning management system. The case study approach was selected because of its ability to
acquire information through each individual vicariously and to examine their attitudes and
motivations in a real life context. This qualitative approach is commonly used to explore and
understand the meaning individuals or groups ascribe to a social or human issue (Creswell, 2013).
Each teacher interviewed is a microcosm of the larger case study, as each participant interviewed
needs to be understood in order to truly understand the underlying reasons for adoption, and to
understand the larger case, the school district. Research Questions This study will attempt to
answer the following questions: 1. Of the teachers who have adopted the learning management
system (LMS) for teaching and learning, what is different about those who adopt more quickly than
others? 2. How has the learning management system been incorporated into teaching and learning
in the classroom? What were the early successes or failures that may have influenced the choice to
adopt? 3. What have been current steps toward

Sage As A Master Of Economics
His real name was Travis Sage, but everyone called him Sage. Sage earned a Bachelor Degree

As a graduate student in Europe, he wrote a brilliant thesis that updated the guiding principles of
the Austrian School of Economics with 21st century economic, social and political realities. The

Sage was also one of The Movement s founding fathers. He had been a close personal friend and

Essay about Classical Liberalism
Definition ==========
The ideology of classical liberalism is concerned with the conception of an ideal society. The term
classical refers to the early form of liberalism that flourished for much of the nineteenth century. It
sees human nature as essentially selfish but rational. Therefore the ideal society is one where
individuals have maximum freedom to pursue their own interest in competition with everyone else.
Origins =======
Origins of classical liberalism are derived from the break up of the feudal system, which allowed
people more economic freedom and allowed possible the early growth of capitalism. The fusion of
economic and political liberalism has produced a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Utilitarianism
Like Locke, utilitarians see men as individuals essentially. However Jeremy Bentham rejected the
notion of natural rights as it was nonsense on stilts and as result he developed the principle of
utility. Utility is based on the belief that man is motivated by the desire to achieve happiness and
avoid pain. It s important to note the utilitarianism definition of happiness consumption and
enjoyment of goods and property and only the provision of this is utility. The opposite of this for
example, pain is disutility.
Society for utilitarians meant free individuals pursuing their own interests as workers and
consumers and the only role the government play is as a protector of these rights, implying they
needed little intervention. Any increase in state power would only be a benefit if increasing the
total sum of utility and therefore the goal of any political system is to achieve the greatest good for
the greatest number . This heavily relies on democracy and government responsibility and
accountability and the state should be answerable to the people. In summary, there are four key

The Boxing Day Tsunami And The Real World Tsunami
Tsunamis are unfortunate events that humanity will have to deal with for eternity. They one of
the most versatile forms of a natural disaster, as they can be caused by a rockslide, underwater
earthquake, certain volcanic eruptions, or a high velocity impact of a sizeable object within a
body of water (1). The media and scientific research has done a sufficient job in covering real
world tsunamis and relief efforts, which in turn has help trigger natural human curiosity regarding
the subject. The film industry has capitalized off of this, and has made a numerous amount of
movies either based on, or featuring these devastating waves. As depicted through real events and
in the movies, tsunamis generally behave in the same manner, yet each one has a different speed
and height due to various factors. Furthermore, every location of possible impact treats the way
they prepare and react to a disaster differently. Through the examination of the real life Boxing Day
Tsunami, and the fictional tsunami in Roar Uthaug s The Wave, these claims can be further
expanded upon and reinforced.

like when a group of people stand up for what they believe, for example, women s rights and black s
rights. I believe that rebellionis healthy for any growing society. There are many things that we do
not agree with, whether it is the law or our parent s instructions. By rebelling we can change our
society and/or ourselves for better.
One type of rebellion is when a child or teenage goes against the rules set in order to find out what
is wrong with going against the rules. To illustrate, a child walks into a candy store with his
mother. He is in shock ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rebellion occurs in all age groups whether it is children, teenagers, adults, or even senior citizens.
Most rebellion occurs in either small groups or singularly but occasionally they are bigger.
What do women s rights and black s rights have in common? They are both acts of rebellion that
were required to direct society towards the better light. The fights for rights that have occurred
throughout American history are undeniable. People had to go through unbelievable amounts of
misery to get us where we are today. Kozol feels that if a group of ... people get together and
made a scene about what they feel is wrong then we would finally be forced to listen. (436) This
author proves that when a group of people get together and rebel it can make people see what is
truly going on, so others can seek change. It is necessary for everyone to take a stand in what
they believe is truly right; just like the people before us did. Many people in history have shown
incredible amounts of courage; they have stood up and fought for what they believed was right;
this is the way to change.
Rebellion is like a person with a favorite old pair of shoes. A person may be afraid to throw away
their favorite worn out shoes, but after awhile it is time for change when the shoes no longer do
their job. This is a great example of what happened when the black society was tired of being
treated like objects. They protested and went against the old pair of shoes, which in this case

Rene Descartes God Analysis
In Descartes Discourse on Method and Meditations on First Philosophy, he explains the various
steps that should be taken in achieving genuine knowledge. Descartes rejects all beliefs in things
that are doubtable, and he then tries to unbiasedly reestablish what can be known for sure. One of
his most interesting argument is proving the existenceof God. He hoped to provide a way for
atheists, who demand a logical explanation in God s existence, to believe in God. His rules of
thought meant to ensure that our knowledge rests upon a firm foundation. Descartes believed in
God and also offered arguments for his existence. He claims that there are two types of ideas;
innate and fictitious (Descartes, 45), and the idea that God is invented is false. In defending his
stand, he starts off by stating that something cannot come from nothing. He explains that the idea
of God in him has an infinitive objective reality. However, the cause of an idea should have at
least as much formal reality as it has an objective reality. Therefore, God being an infinitive... Show

He explains that mathematical ideas such as triangles are certain and independent of his mind.
He realizes that he is just as certain about God as he is about the mathematical ideas. He asserts
that this is natural as the ideas of God are the only ideas that imply God s existence. God is
defined as an infinitely perfect being and since perfection includes existence, God exists. Descartes
presents a very convincing argument for the existence of God. I consider his work is remarkable in
the sense that he tries to provide a logical explanation for the existence of God, something that
even religious scholars don t attempt. I believe God exists and I support Descartes arguments.
Although, it is difficult to tell if Descartes was unbiased in his argument. I wonder if he would
have reached the same conclusion if he did not believe in God

Arguments Concerning Firearms
Firearms can easily be concealed, so individuals lean toward these types of weapons to use for
self defense. Unfortunately, criminals also use these types of weapons and are easy for them to
steal; firearms are easily available on the black market; this makes pistols appealing to criminals.
Most crimes involving firearms are committed with the use of a pistol; this is a serious problem in
society. Although most would agree that something must be done, no one seems to have the answer
at this point. Some individuals that support weapons believe that by completely banning firearms
would be the best way to protect citizens. However, banning pistols/shotguns fails to protect
citizens, because the laws are ineffective, banning firearms prevents individuals from an effective
means of self defense, and the law still don t solve the real problem, which is the gunowner.
Individuals that supports concealed weapons to be took on campus may claim guns deter crime,
and, while some statistics show this to be true, the opposite side of the coin also has evidence to
prove this is not the case. First, recent polls suggest college campuses aren t a breeding ground
for violence, as suggested by state legislators. Across the board and with most major parties of
interest, groups say they feel safe and secure at campuses; even those at reportedly dangerous
locations said they feel secured. Another reason why firearms bans fail to protect citizens is
because they do not deal with the real issue. The real issue behind firearm crimes and violence is not
the gun itself, but rather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because the weapons are required by law to be kept concealed, the logic goes, would be

English 125 Syllabus
The concept of requirements for the English major at Yale University is based upon a desire to
inform, and, as explained by the description of English 125 and 126 on the department website,
are meant to provide: generous introduction to the abiding formal and thematic concerns of the
English literary tradition. A resounding emphasis is put on the benefit the student will receive
from the skills that the classes require. However, students would be able to come away with a
sharpened awareness of what it means to read with the attentiveness that great literature demands
regardless of the content of the syllabus, as long as there was a focus on close reading and form
that was adhered to by the professor. The question that remains is: what is... Show more content on

With a syllabus centered around woman poets, students would be exposed to more
socioeconomically diverse group of poets. While the major poets of the English 125 syllabus
were all born into some degree of wealth, the women who acted as supplementary readings for the
course were of more varied backgrounds. Isabella Whitney, for example, was born to a lower class
English family. Her experiences in life are reflected in her poetry, and starkly contrast the poetry of
the major men. While the traditional male poets may not have had the same views, they were
privy to a lot of similar experiences due to their class standing, and therefore tackled some of the
same issues. To have a different viewpoint and style of writing in terms of not only gender, but of
class, is crucial in the development of an English major. The current syllabus requires students to
be complacent with the multitude under developed female characters that are created through the
eyes of men, and satisfied with the few women who are given deeper personalities, like the Wife
of Bath in Chaucer s Canterbury Tales. Such confining works lead to conversation that
automatically focuses on the negative when it comes to gender that women are disregarded and
often powerless when depicted from the male point of view, unless they are overtly sexualized.
From a modern stance, this is seen as a sexist and unfair representation, but based on the current
material offered in English 125, it seems as though it is an injustice that must be dealt with to
understand the nuances of pivotal English poetry. However, a deeper focus on women poets would
eliminate, or at least add dimension to, this type of conversation. There is no reason why students
cannot recognize the powerful interactions of form and content between Isabella Whitney s To her

  • 2. Cole Stryker What Is Wrong With Public Shaming What s wrong with public shaming? An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth (Hammurabi). Now in this day and age most might say this is excessive, but when it comes to public shaming, far too many are not quite as hesitant. In Cole Stryker s excerpt The Problem with Public Shaming, he makes it quite clear that there are better ways to punish an individual rather than ruining their lives by publicly humiliating them. Cole states public shaming is a thing of the past and should find new ways to treat criminals, that to dox (digging up of a target s personal information) an individual is harmful to both parties, and stating that public shaming is counterproductive. This human reaction not only distances oneself from the right to logic, but leaves no room for the chance of forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is resentment towards a certain person or a multitude of people. Cole gives many examples of the counterproductive ways that deal with public shaming. For example, when someone is effected by a crime and they look for help from local police forces, but are rejected from such task force. This rejection now casts an ideology that all police officers do not care, in return leaving a disdainful image of all police officers. Now with the case Black Lives Matter, this organization preaches to the masses that police officers are patrolling the streets look for young black men to kill. This movement stemmed from no justice being brought forward to the accused criminal. There has been multiple incidents like the one previously stated which is why such a hatred has been casted upon all police forces in America. Rather than jailing the person responsible, a mere slap on the wrist is all that happens. As discussed previously, JFK started awareness for Civil Rights, his actions in Birmingham, coupled with the media coverage; however, it was LBJ s ability to use his connections in congress to pass laws that changed the face of voting and civil right throughout the United States. As far as the leadership at the Grass roots level Dr. Martin Luther King is the most famous, due to the nonviolent protests and boycotts; however Rosa Parks, Aurelia Browder, and Louise Keys, were the catalysis for the grass roots movement. Although not much is mentioned of these individuals. President s Eisenhower, JFK and LBJ along with the sitting justices on the Supreme Court share credit on the national level. Firstly the Presidents by supporting Supreme Court decisions, calling congress to pass laws, and taking action when States clearly chose to disregard the law, and the Courts by applying the intent of the Constitution and declaring laws unjust while supporting unpopular laws because the met the intent of the Constitution. I don t believe that one person alone mattered the most, the nonviolent protest by Dr. Martin Luther King coupled by his speech on the steps of the Lincoln memorial were very powerful, but without action by the courts, the leaders in congress and the Presidency. However, the media played a large part in how the American public viewed civil rights, when images of dogs attacking nonviolent protesters, people beaten and killed because of color changes the view of right and ... Those who are put into these leadership positions could take one of two routes, they could lead socially or personally. The social form of leading is when the man or woman who is in power, is genuinely thinking for their people and doing what they believe in favor and best for the people, the personal form of leadership is derived from the greedy and self centeredness that people can possess because it is when they work for their own increase of power or money. There is also the opportunity for a social leader to act unjustly and immorally but not true selfishness. In the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesarhe see several men gain more power and some change because of it. The first of the three men is Julius Caesar, Julius is introduced after he gains the power and love from the people so it is difficult to know how he changed from what he was before but the stories and experiences told from other characters can be used to gauge how drastically the power changed him. The second man is Marcus Brutus, throughout the play he talks of strong and just morals that he believes in and is incapable to break those ethics that are so deeply seeded in him. • 28. Arguments Against Universal Health Care In the United States many issues seem to arise during times of struggle and what some consider unfairness. One of these being the topic of health care. As this problem popped up so did some solutions did as well. One of these being a universal health care. That to some would seem to get rid of all this unfair health care problem all together. However, others say that with a universal health care, the costs would rise and the quality could rapidly degrade. Both of these sides show very true factual evidence for their supporting claims. As many people had supposed for quite a while now is the idea of a universal health care, an idea of which is to give healthcare to all in a nation regardless if they pay for it or not. To some it would completely and utterly get rid of all these bad incidents happening to many whom do not have health care. It also would make it more equal, and instead of some getting health care, everyone would have healthcare. There would be no need for any of these health problems most poor and some middle class people have to face. Instead there would be health care for every person in the United States. This idea would be highly beneficial to the poor and the ones who don t have healthcare or simply cannot afford it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 31. The Reign Of The Carolingian Dynasty Although the reign of the Carolingian dynasty occupied only a brief part of the entirety of the medieval era, the Carolingian Empire that was established during that period made both a historical and cultural impact on medieval society that would resonate for years to come. Until the empire fell in 888, the Carolingian House of the Franksinitially brought stability and progress to most of Europe, as well as pioneering a cultural and intellectual renaissance that influenced the remainder of the Middle Ages. Although there were various Carolingian rulers who aided these advances, it is fair to say that Carolingian developments reached their peak during the reign of Charlemagne, a leader and reformer of the church who fully appreciated the importance of learning and education. Throughout his reign, he established himself, as a ruler, and his empire as an example that subsequent Kings of the Middle Ages would aim to obtain and uphold. In addition, Charlemagne created a cultural legacy that allowed the empire to prosper and formed links between the medieval world and the ancient world. With this in mind, this essay will principally explore the positive aspects of the Carolingian legacy and the ways in which they were fundamental to the development of medieval society, focusing on the most significant successes during the reign of Charlemagne. It will also briefly touch upon the role of other Carolingian leaders as well as the societal impact of the eventual dissolution of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Among the three volumetric glassware Pipette was most precise (Гі=0.0016 g /mL). Burette was the second best (Гі=0.0023 g/mL) and graduated cylinder was the least precise (Гі= 0.007 g/mL). Density was found to be intensive property. The slope of the graph of mass against volume was 1.05 g/mL, with the best linear fit for the data. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The variation of data on the graph may be the result of systematic or random errors. In this experiment, volume is the independent variable which affected the mass calculated by the weighing balance. Figure 1 also pointed out the precision of the three glassware used to measure the volume. Pipette seemed to be the most precise instrument to use for measuring volume because most of the Diet Sprite and all of the regular Sprite densities were calculated very closely. Burette was also accurate but not as precise as pipette. There are some points on burette chart that go very high or very low. This is probably because the volume was not measured accurately. Another error that altered the data was the beaker used to measure the mass might have some solution in it already and thus mass of the solution increased. Mistakes such as wrong measurement or calculations also affected the graph. Pipette is the most precise because almost all the points are close to each other whereas graduated cylinder is the least precise because the data is vastly spread on the graph 1. This evaluation is a workplace based, qualitative research design that attempts to collect knowledge of the complexities of adoption, teacher attitudes, and other data regarding the impact of the digital transformation to a learning management system. Research focuses on 24 interviews of teachers across the district, and factors that influence their decision to adopt or not adopt the district s learning management system. The case study approach was selected because of its ability to acquire information through each individual vicariously and to examine their attitudes and motivations in a real life context. This qualitative approach is commonly used to explore and understand the meaning individuals or groups ascribe to a social or human issue (Creswell, 2013). Each teacher interviewed is a microcosm of the larger case study, as each participant interviewed needs to be understood in order to truly understand the underlying reasons for adoption, and to understand the larger case, the school district. Of the teachers who have adopted the learning management system (LMS) for teaching and learning, what is different about those who adopt more quickly than others? 2. How has the learning management system been incorporated into teaching and learning in the classroom? What were the early successes or failures that may have influenced the choice to adopt? 3. • 47. Rene Descartes God Analysis In Descartes Discourse on Method and Meditations on First Philosophy, he explains the various steps that should be taken in achieving genuine knowledge. Descartes rejects all beliefs in things that are doubtable, and he then tries to unbiasedly reestablish what can be known for sure. One of his most interesting argument is proving the existenceof God. He hoped to provide a way for atheists, who demand a logical explanation in God s existence, to believe in God. His rules of thought meant to ensure that our knowledge rests upon a firm foundation. Descartes believed in God and also offered arguments for his existence. He claims that there are two types of ideas; innate and fictitious (Descartes, 45), and the idea that God is invented is false. • 48. Arguments Concerning Firearms Firearms can easily be concealed, so individuals lean toward these types of weapons to use for self defense. Unfortunately, criminals also use these types of weapons and are easy for them to steal; firearms are easily available on the black market; this makes pistols appealing to criminals. Most crimes involving firearms are committed with the use of a pistol; this is a serious problem in society. Although most would agree that something must be done, no one seems to have the answer at this point. Some individuals that support weapons believe that by completely banning firearms would be the best way to protect citizens. However, banning pistols/shotguns fails to protect citizens, because the laws are ineffective, banning firearms prevents individuals from an effective means of self defense, and the law still don t solve the real problem, which is the gunowner. Individuals that supports concealed weapons to be took on campus may claim guns deter crime, and, while some statistics show this to be true, the opposite side of the coin also has evidence to prove this is not the case. First, recent polls suggest college campuses aren t a breeding ground for violence, as suggested by state legislators. English 125 Syllabus The concept of requirements for the English major at Yale University is based upon a desire to inform, and, as explained by the description of English 125 and 126 on the department website, are meant to provide: generous introduction to the abiding formal and thematic concerns of the English literary tradition. However, a deeper focus on women poets would eliminate, or at least add dimension to, this type of conversation. There is no reason why students cannot recognize the powerful interactions of form and content between Isabella Whitney s To her Inconstant Lover and Shakespeare s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
