Why it’s important to me, vital for your children to
participate in, and why I’m telling you all this.

different factors, emotional and physical that are in

 Learning and speaking about these aspects enables
you to become a good global citizen.
 That is why included with physical activity and

home safety.

3. Why I love PDHPE!
 Not only is PDHPE fun. It is also interactive and
highly informative.
 It really has a wide scope, every student will
thoroughly enjoy and connect with a few different
modules during the year.
 As a teacher I can see children’s abilities grow
during the year.

4. Personal experience
 When I was in school, I really connected with PDHPE
and was lucky enough to have a great PDHPE teacher
from year 10-12.
 I came first in my school in the HSC and it was the
subject I felt taught me the most. But not just in theory.
I find when coming into certain new situations, looking
back to my lessons and seeing relevance in them.
 I must admit, I do love sports, following multiple
football (that’s soccer) leagues, being a basketball
(Spurs) fanatic, and having done martial arts for
almost fifteen years.

5. Just some general comments…
 Approximately 30% of all primary schools do not
meet the percentage of hours of PE per week.
 Over the past 25 years the proportion of
overweight children has doubled.
 Among all the physical benefits of participating in
PE, it adds to children’s social relationships (Wills,
