PDHPE classes in primary schools aim to educate students about healthy choices regarding food, health, safety and physical activity. Teachers provide information to help students confidently make decisions that benefit their wellbeing. The classes also allow students to get outside and practice cooperation, problem solving and interaction with peers through games. PDHPE promotes overall wellbeing by considering social, mental, spiritual, and physical health as well as growth, nutrition, safety and protection.

• Teachers have a responsibility to make students aware
of ways in which they can better their health and
physical activity.
• Throughout PDHPE classes students are provided
with information necessary to be confident in making
the best possible decisions about food, health and
safety.
• PDHPE allows students to get out of the classroom
environment and go outside to enjoy a few games
with classmates. Here students are likely to practice
their problem solving skills whilst cooperating and
