WHAT IS SWOT ANALYSIS?
• SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis is a
framework used to evaluate a company's competitive position and to
develop strategic planning.
• SWOT analysis assesses internal and external factors, as well as current
and future potential.
• A SWOT analysis is designed to facilitate a realistic, fact-based, data-
driven look at the strengths and weaknesses of an organization,
initiatives, or within its industry.
STRENGTHS
• Strengths describe what an organization excels at and what separates it from the
competition: a strong brand, loyal customer base, a strong balance sheet, unique
technology, and so on. For example, a hedge fund may have developed a
proprietary trading strategy that returns market-beating results. It must then
decide how to use those results to attract new investors.
WEAKNESSES
• Weaknesses stop an organization from performing at its optimum level. They are
areas where the business needs to improve to remain competitive: a weak brand,
higher-than-average turnover, high levels of debt, an inadequate supply chain, or
lack of capital.
OPPORTUNITIES
• Opportunities refer to favorable external factors that could give an organization a
competitive advantage. For example, if a country cuts tariffs, a car manufacturer
can export its cars into a new market, increasing sales and market share.
THREATS
• Threats refer to factors that have the potential to harm an organization. For
example, a drought is a threat to a wheat-producing company, as it may destroy
or reduce the crop yield. Other common threats include things like rising costs for
materials, increasing competition, tight labor supply. and so on.

ABOUT AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY
• The automotive industry in India is the fourth-largest in the world as per 2021 statistics.
In 2022, India became fourth largest country in the world by valuation of automotive
industry. As of 2020, India is the 5th largest automobile market in the world, surpassing
Germany in terms of sales.
• Currently India's auto industry is worth of more that US$100 billion and contributes 8% of
the country's total export and accounts for 2.3% of India's GDP.
• India's major automobile manufacturing companies includes Tata Motors, Ashok
Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, Force Motors, Tractors and Farm Equipment
Limited, Eicher Motors, Royal Enfield, Sonalika
Tractors, HindustanMotors, Hradyesh, ICML, Kerala Automobiles Limited, Reva, Pravaig
Dynamics, Premier, Tara International and Vehicle Factory Jabalpur
TWO WHEELER INDUSTRY
• The India two wheeler market reached a volume of 15.2 Million Units in 2021. Looking
forward, IMARC Group expects the market to reach 42.2 Million Units by 2027,
exhibiting a CAGR of 18.6% during 2022-2027. Keeping in mind the uncertainties of
COVID-19, we are continuously tracking and evaluating the direct as well as the indirect
influence of the pandemic.
ABOUT HONDA TWO WHEELERS
• Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Private Limited (HMSI) is the wholly
owned Indian subsidiary of Honda Motor Company, Limited, Japan. Founded in
1999, it was the fourth Honda automotive venture in India, after Kinetic
Honda Motor Ltd (1984–1998), Hero Honda (1984–2011) and Honda Siel Cars
India (1995–2012). HMSI was established in 1999 at Manesar, District Gurgaon,
Haryana.
• HMSI has four manufacturing locations at Manesar in Haryana, Tapukara
in Rajasthan, Narsapura, Kolar in Karnataka and Vitthalapur of Ahmedabad
district in Gujarat state.

WHAT IS SWOT ANALYSIS? • SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis is a framework used to evaluate a company's competitive position and to develop strategic planning. • SWOT analysis assesses internal and external factors, as well as current and future potential. • A SWOT analysis is designed to facilitate a realistic, fact-based, data- driven look at the strengths and weaknesses of an organization, initiatives, or within its industry.
  • 3. STRENGTHS • Strengths describe what an organization excels at and what separates it from the competition: a strong brand, loyal customer base, a strong balance sheet, unique technology, and so on. For example, a hedge fund may have developed a proprietary trading strategy that returns market-beating results. It must then decide how to use those results to attract new investors.
  • 4. WEAKNESSES • Weaknesses stop an organization from performing at its optimum level. They are areas where the business needs to improve to remain competitive: a weak brand, higher-than-average turnover, high levels of debt, an inadequate supply chain, or lack of capital.
  • 5. OPPORTUNITIES • Opportunities refer to favorable external factors that could give an organization a competitive advantage. For example, if a country cuts tariffs, a car manufacturer can export its cars into a new market, increasing sales and market share.
  • 6. THREATS • Threats refer to factors that have the potential to harm an organization. For example, a drought is a threat to a wheat-producing company, as it may destroy or reduce the crop yield. Other common threats include things like rising costs for materials, increasing competition, tight labor supply. and so on.
