1º. You must add the auxiliary verb “to be” 
in the tense of the active voice

Past Simple cleaned was, were cleaned 
Present Continiuous Is, are cleaning Is, are being cleaned 
Past Continiuous was, were cleaning was, were being cleaned 
Present Perfect have, has cleaned have, has been cleaned 
Past Perfect had cleaned had been cleaned 
Future “will” will clear will be clear

Modals Verbs 
(must, should, can)

Important! 
Never use do, does, did with the passive voice 
They didn't stell all the tickets for the concert. 
“All the tickets werent sold”
CChhaannggeess 
● In the passive voice the subject receives the 
action of the verb. 
● We always use by to introduce the passive object 
● The object of the active sentence becomes the 
subject of the passive sentence 
● If the object is a pronoun, must change it to a 
subject pronoun

My mother is going to give me a present 
I am going to be given a present by my mother 
Jane mailed the letter 
The letter was mailed by Jane 
My grandmother made an apple cake 
An apple cake was made by my grandmother 
The cats eat fish 
Fish is eaten by the cats
