La Defense is one of the most important business districts in Europe located west of Paris, filled with skyscrapers and towers of major companies. It also offers entertainment, dining, 60 works of contemporary art, fountains, and hanging gardens. The Île de la Cité is the heart of Paris and founding place, while the small Île Saint-Louis was once used for cattle and lumber but is now one of Paris's most peaceful districts. Champs-Élysées, almost two kilometers long, connects the Arc de Triomphe to Place de la Concorde and finishes the Tour de France cycling route, named after Greek mythology's Elysian Fields.
