Laptops


Although they are similar in many ways a laptop and a desktop computer are
  very different.

Laptops are potable computers designed for people on the go.

Laptops can either be plugged into there AC adapter or use there
rechargeable battery as a source of power.

Throughout the years laptops have technologically advanced, this is through
becoming lighter, cheaper and the software in laptops has developed
dramatically, also there uses have increased making them appeal to a wider
  range of customers.

Laptops have the same internal components as a desktop but there internal
components are smaller and are usually described as miniaturized. And
because of this it limits the overall performance of the Laptop.
Tablet


Tablets are the latest technology breakthrough in portable devices
that are similar to desktop and laptops.

A tablet is primarily operating by using a touch screen, so no external
components like a mouse or a keyboard is needed.

They sometimes come with a stylus pen or can be used using your
  finger.

Tablets can connect to the internet wirelessly.

Tablets can connect to laptops or desktops by using a external cord
that saves the data from the tablet to the laptop or desktop like a daily
backup. This information can also be saved by using the cloud

Depending on the type of tablet that you have you, may be able to
message or video chat to those with tablets.

It contains quite a long battery life, which also depends on usage.
Desktop


A desktop also known as a PC (personal computer).

A desktop was the first computer that was originally designed for military
    purposes.

A desktop consists of a tower, monitor, keyboard and mouse.

In more modern computers desktop monitors can be touch screen.

Desktops have advanced dramatically in software and hardware.

Desktops tend to be cheaper than the average laptop and parts tend to be
    cheaper.

They have a larger overall maximum performance compared to Laptops
    because they have no limitations.

Desktops are used for more professional purposes but software’s have been
made and they now appeal to a wider target audience.
Server


A server is a host computer network

It can offer multiple things such as; database server,
file server, mail server, print server, web server,
  gaming server etc.

Server run on IP (Internet Protocol)

They provide essential services across a networks
from private (networks) to public (Internet) .

A common use of servers is that files can be shared
  across a network.
Smart Phones

A smart phone is a average phone but is built using a
  mobile operating system.

They can also be known as PDA's (Personal Digital
  Assistant).

More modern versions of smart phones contain digital
cameras, media players, GPS, Wi-Fi, broadband, 3G or
  4G.

The latest smart phones are touch screen.

There are 8 common mobile operating systems.

Most smart phones have a high resolution.

All smart phones are expensive ranging from £70 to
  £300
Game Console


  Is a form of entertainment.

These are some sort of game that use a display device
  (monitor, TV screen).

As technology has developed so has the gaming industry,
making games more realistic and giving them a higher
  resolution.

More modern game consoles connect to the internet to give an
extra feature to there games and there gaming experience.

Also more can be done that doesn't involve games, for example
people can browse the internet and chat to friends on a extra
  feature that can be downloaded.
Embedded Systems


Is a computer systems designed to control a larger
system eg a car or plane

It often contains hardware or mechanical parts.

It was designed to be a flexible design to appeal to a
  variety of users.

Embedded systems are designed specifically for one
  system.
Thank you for viewing my Power Point
I hope that you learnt all about
     how computer systems are in
          our day to day life.
