The FootfallCam 3D Counter uses both video and Wi-Fi counting technologies to provide 5 metrics for retailers in a single device. It can track foot traffic into and out of a store, identify returning customers and those who shop at multiple stores, and determine how many passersby enter the store. The device detects smartphones' Wi-Fi signals without needing a connection and anonymizes the MAC addresses collected to protect customers' privacy.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

2. 3rd Generation:
Video counting + Wi-Fi counting
With the rising popularity of Wi-Fi enabled devices, the 3rd generation
counters are able to use Wi-Fi counting to measure the metrics more
than just the INs and OUTs of the store.
3. 5X Metrics in One
Counter
• We are the first in the world to
combine video counting and Wi-Fi
counting technologies into one
device
• Adding a number of important
metrics for business, especially for
the retail industry
4. A) Footfall Counting
• Employs the most advanced algorithm, Multilayer Background
Subtraction Based on Color and Texture
• Digitally remove the background objects in the video to identify the
person and track its movement to distinguish INs and OUTs
5. B) Outside Traffics
• Smartphones constantly send out signals as they look for nearby
Wi-Fi networks
• Footfallcam counter is a Wi-Fi
hotspot itself. It is able to detect
the Wi-Fi signals emitted by
the smartphones
6. What Data Are We
Collecting From
Smartphones
1. MAC Address
A unique identifier associated
with a specific device
2. Signal Strength
To determine rough location of
the customers
7. Store Front Conversion
How many people passing through has actually visited your store?
Store Front Conversion
= number of people coming in
outside traffic
x 100%
8. C) Visit Duration
How long the customer stay in your store?
Track each MAC address emitted by the smartphones as customers
enter and exit the store.
Visit duration = 15 minutes
Leave at 10.15 amEnter at 10.00 am
9. D) Returning Customers
Distinguishes if the customer has visited the store before by comparing
the MAC address with previous records.
AAA has previously visited the store on 18 Jan she is a
returning customer.
10. E) Cross Shopping
Combining Wi-Fi data from different stores allows the same MAC
address detected in different stores to be identified.
AAA is a cross shopper between Store A and Store B
11. Frequently Asked Question #1
Retailer: “ Do I need to provide Wi-Fi network in our stores in order to
use your counter?”
No, Footfallcam counter detects the Wi-Fi signals emitted by the
smartphones without requiring it to be registered or connected to any
Wi-Fi networks.
12. Frequently Asked Question #2
Retailer: “ Not everyone is carrying a smartphones, how do you factor
that into your analytics?”
We cannot track everyone. However, we have large sample size
statistically neutral video counting data where we can use to normalize
the Wi-Fi data to have an accurate picture of the overall customer
shopping behavior.
13. No Personal Information Collected
• MAC address hashing
• Anonymous aggregated data
• Neither retailer nor footfallcam
know your identity or any
personal information
