The increasing rate of juvenile delinquency has become a major social problem globally and locally.
Researchers and concerned individuals have traced the preponderance of juvenile delinquency to the increasing
rate of family instability among other factors. However, concerted inquiries into the influence of family
instability on juvenile delinquency have resulted in a raging controversy. While some researchers have found a
significant relationship between family instability and juvenile delinquency, others have suggested otherwise.
Against this backdrop, this study set out to fill this yawning gap in literature and also to examine the
relationship between family instability and juvenile delinquency in Owerri Municipality. Using the multi-stage
sampling method, 510 senior secondary school students were selected for this study from 10 comprehensive
secondary schools in Owerri Municipality. The questionnaire and the interview guide were used for data
collection. 2 hypotheses were formulated to guide this study. The hypotheses were tested with the chi-square (x2
)
statistic. The results of the analyses have shown that children from unstable homes engage more in juvenile
delinquency than their counterparts from more stable homes. As expected, inadequate parental supervision
predicted delinquency. This study recommended among other things that Governments, counselors and
concerned agencies should routinely develop programmes aimed at sensitizing parents and care-givers on
parent roles and obligations

Abstract
The increase of family breakdown down rate in Juba City has been due to alcohol and drugs addiction, financial problems, death, plus psychological, sexual and emotional abuse, threatening diseases like HIV/AIDs and inability to resolve conflict among others.
The objective of the study was to investigate the causes of family breakdown and its effects on the children in Juba City. The effects of family breakdown on children include difficulties in school, stress, early engagement in sexual activities, insecure and afraid of the future, depression and fear of being abandoned. The forms of family breakdown identified during the study include death, separation and divorce.
The rate of the family breakage was indicating 78.3%, though the study was based in Juba city, it reflects the entire country since all of the ten states’ habitants were included in study. Some of the cultural practices were found of backing up the high rate of family breakdown and such practices include force marriage, polygamy marriage, inheritance of widowers and high bride wealth.
The study proved communication skills, creation of family laws, supporting the children of the low families, marriage preparation and parenting new initiatives and information giving and mediation are the fundamental alternative solution to family breakdown.
In conclusion, the study proved the family breakdown affects the children performance in schools in line with other effects such as; stress, depression, fear of being abandoned, insecure and afraid of the future and torn in two among others.
In the end, the study recommended that the three stakeholders; government, NGOs and the academia to play respective role suggested to them by the researcher in accordance with the findings.

Abstract
Children often are the ones that will suffer with the many disabilities. Most parents are denied custody in some cases of their children. The challenges that the parents face with the ever-intellectual disabilities with raising children. Several facts and arguments will be made to help with the support and the opposed individuals (parents) with intellectual disabilities trying to help with the up bring of their children. Helping with the support and the intervention, recommendations that are vital to this process will be outlined. With the challenges being made and the high expectations will all be met.
Introduction
People with disabilities have always been faced with problems that in most cases are associated with the perception of the members of the community. In most cases, they are people who cannot bring up healthy children. At the same time, they are perceived as people who do not have what it takes to be equal members of the society. However, the level of disability ought to be a consideration. Some of the people with disabilities have all it takes to raise their children and therefore they should not be denied the opportunity to do so. However, there is also a need to support them for the sake of making sure that their children are provided with all the resources they need to be as active as the children of healthy parents.

There is a vast difference between what was happening ten years ago and what is happening now. In the modern day, the law and the members of the society have realized that disability is not inability. As a result, the law and the members of the society are trying to support the disabled rather than take away what they already have. Instead of taking away their children, measures to support them are put in place with the intention of making them enjoy parenthood and feel as part and parcel of the society (Cuskelly & Bryde, 2004).
How far we have come
The people with disabilities have been embraced more than ever. The private sector and the public sector are working together to make sure that people with disabilities are empowered. The steps include presenting the opportunities of employment, encouraging the disabled to be educated, nurturing their talents because some of them might not be good when it comes to academics, and making sure that they have access to the resources that are likely to make their lives better (Olsson & Hwang, 2001).

I will discuss the cause of a broken home. As well as how living up in a broken home can effect a child's life all the way into his/her adult years. I also will be discussing different ways children can deal with their emotions outside of the home.
The leading cause of divorce is lack of communication, when communication fails you can not have an effective relationship.
Illness, whether it is a death of a family member or a deadly illness of someone in the immediate family can cause constant arguing between couples.
Abuse whether it is sexual, emotional, drugs, alcohol or excessive gambling. One partner might seem to actively be harsh on another physically or just by using harsh language.
Things with money tend to cause arguments and disagreements between couples.
One partner may have cheated on the other which is an unforgivable mistake that causes a big hole in a relationship.
Which leaves about a million American children suffer from the divorce of their parents.
Blame themselves for the break-up, blame themselves for not being able to stop it from happening. If divorce is sudden may blame the parent who left. If in house of constant bickering the blame often shifts from parent to parent everyday.
Become sad that they are either motherless or fatherless. Often sad that life will never be the same.
Get angry that one parent could leave them for whatever reason, feeling of betrayal. May get mad because feel like a victim. Signs of anger: not eating, acting rebellious, not sleeping well, changing study habits, hanging out with new people (bad influences), experimenting with tobacco, alcohol, and drugs.
Common to fear the unknown of what is coming next, will your life be the same?
Often children try tell themselves that they don’t really care and do not wanna show anyone how much it hurts. Denial is a way to ease the pain.
Find it hard to trust others in your adult life, typically men if your father left and women if your mother left.
In adult life may find it hard to have good healthy relationships particulary romantic relationships because you can not trust properly, fear long term relationships, trouble making adjustments.
Finally once gone through different stages will reach the stage of acceptance. It is important that they face their feelings in a healthy way.
Mood swings that parents exhibit may confuse the child and make them insecure.
Inconsistent care by parent can lead to a child that has to grow up quickly and assume adult responsibilities.
Rebel and give up trying to do well in school or life. Figue if heir parents do not care about them then why should they?
Children in these situations may be withdrawn and have trouble bonding with others.
Blame themselves for family’s problems and that it is their responsibility to conceal the problem.
Find it normal when it comes to using substances. Know that parents drink too much but over time, the child may not know what other families are like.
Adapt incorrect ways to handle stress because of parents example.
Children of alcoholics or drug abusers often develop an inner strenght that helps them get through tough times at home.
Can either be inflicted on them by their mother or father. And can occurs at moments of great stress. Many who abuse were abused themselves as children. Child abuse is fairly high (neglect). Causes people to abuse love ones close to them is alcoholism, drug abuse, being a single parent, lack of education, poverty.

In life you will work as part of a team, family, corporation it is an important skill to have to learn how to deal with different personalities and abilities. It also teaches them to look to others for help.
