- 3. Early parent–child interactions are important contributors to the development of child behaviors.
- 4. Some studies have shown that a boy raised without a father can lead to crime and prison, as where a girl without a father can lead to a teenage pregnancy.
- 5. When raising a child alone, parents need to spend more time and pay close attention to fill in that missing gap from their child’s life.
- 6. It is relatively shown in research studies that a child being raised in a single- parent home will ultimately result in poor school performance or drop out completely.
- 7. Research indicates that single parents tend to be less able to support their children's schooling through supervision and monitoring of their school work, and they may have lower expectations regarding their children's school achievements.
- 8. Although sometimes a divorce or separation is inevitable, there are resources and people out there in local communities and agencies that can help parents and children deal with a single-parent home life style.
- 9. No matter what the situation, parents need to stay actively concerned and involved in their child’s life to help prevent any and all of these possible negative outcomes of a single-parent home.
