1. Outline For A Compare And Contrast Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Outline for a Compare and Contrast Essay" may seem
straightforward at first, but it comes with its own set of challenges. The difficulty lies in the
need to meticulously analyze and draw meaningful comparisons between two or more subjects
while maintaining a coherent structure. Crafting a well-organized outline requires a deep
understanding of the chosen topics and the ability to identify both similarities and differences.
One challenge is ensuring that the essay follows a logical progression, with a clear introduction,
body paragraphs that explore specific points of comparison, and a conclusion that summarizes
the key findings. Striking the right balance between similarities and differences, and presenting
them in a way that engages the reader, adds another layer of complexity. It demands careful
thought and thorough research to gather relevant information and examples to support the
comparisons.
Moreover, maintaining clarity and coherence throughout the essay can be challenging. There's a
need to articulate ideas in a concise and compelling manner, avoiding redundancy while ensuring
that each point contributes meaningfully to the overall argument. The writer must also be
mindful of the tone and style, adapting them to the purpose of the essay.
In summary, crafting an essay on the outlined topic requires a combination of analytical skills,
research proficiency, and the ability to express ideas effectively. It demands time and effort to
create an outline that serves as a strong foundation for the essay. Nevertheless, with dedication
and careful planning, navigating the complexities of a compare and contrast essay becomes a
rewarding intellectual exercise.

I am from Colombia, where dancing is part of our culture. In Colombia each state
has a month where festivals take place. In these types of festivals there is food,
music and a lot dancing. As mentioned in class dancing is ceremonial in these types
of festivals. Our typical dance for Colombians is Cumbia. According to Discover
Colombia, Cumbia brings together three cultures which are Africa, Indigenous and
European. Discover Colombia mentions that Cumbia was born from a cultural mix of
black and indigenous backgrounds, but the music and dancebecame very popular in
the 1950 s in Colombia. Another typical dance for my culture is Salsa. According to
Colombia reports the history of the typical Cali salsa began in the 1930s. This

My family would constantly tell me, I cannot believe salsa is not in your blood .
Even though I had many reasons to give up I still loved salsa and eventually I was
able to get good at it. Now, as a young adult I am able to dance and enjoy salsa with
my family. Zumba also got me into dancing. Zumba helped me see dancing in a
different way. It has showed me the true meaning of dancing and has been very
therapeutic for me. The first time I went to a Zumba class I was sixteen years old.
During Zumba, I noticed how happy I was while dancing. It helped me forget
about most of my problems. My Zumba instructor had a positive energy that was
felt throughout the room. During that time, I wanted to become an instructor and
have that much motivation in dancing. Losing weight is another positive outcome
that Zumba brings. I was going to a Zumba class everyday for a year straight until
one day I dislocated my knee. Ever since that day, I still like to dance Zumba but I am
more cautious for a fear that I will dislocate my knee again. In the end, dancing has
always been a big part of my life, especially being from a country where dancing is

3. Joran Van Der Sloot Case Study
On Monday, July 4, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe were released, but Joran van der
Sloot was detained for an additional sixty days. In order to aid in the search, the
Royal Netherlands Air Force deployed three F 16 aircraft equipped with infrared
sensors, without result. Satellite photos were also compared with photographs taken
more recently in an attempt to find unexpected shifts of ground that might be
Holloway s grave(Disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 2015). A small pond near the
Aruba Racquet Club close to the Marriott Hotel beach was partly drained between
July 27 and 30 after an individual came forward. The gardener claimed to have seen
Joran van der Sloot attempting to hide his face, driving into the Racquet Club with
the two Kalpoes brothers... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two brothers were released on the following day. The prosecution appealed the
Kalpoes release. That appeal was denied on December 5 with the court stating that
the file against the suspect did not contain direct indications that Natalee passed
away due to a violent crime. Van der Sloot was released without charge on
December 7, due to lack of evidence implicating him. No further appeals were
sought out (Disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 2015). Prosecutor Hans Mos
declared the case closed and no charges would be filed due to lack of evidence.
Even though the case was closed the prosecution continued an interest in the
Kalpoe s and Joran van der Sloot. The interest remained due to an alleged chat
room message, where one of the three had stated that Holloway was dead. This was
contested by Deepak Kalpoe s attorney, who stated that the prosecution, had
misconstrued a reference to a teacher who had drowned as one to Holloway.
Attorney Ronald Wix also stated, Unless (Mos) finds a body in the bathroom of one
of these kids, there s no way in hell they can arrest them anymore (Disappearance of

Owls Mary Oliver Rhetorical Analysis Essay In this short excerpt from Mary
Oliver s Owls , the author carefully uses various rhetorical strategies to support
comparisons in the beauty of nature. Oliver s use of allusion and figurative
language both contribute to the powerful comparisons of nature she makes. In this
passage, the main example Oliver uses is comparing a great horned owl and a snow
owl to a field of flowers, describing the owls with a striking and powerful presence
and the field of flowers with an excessive beauty. Oliver successfully contrasts the
two with great imagery and creates a balance of simple happiness and fear and awe.
The author provides examples of contrast between a great horned owl, a snowy owl
and a field
5. Educational Benefits Of Computer Games
Educational benefits of computer games for kids
Long before computers become common for home use, children from not well up
families did not have access to computers. This means that children did not involve
themselves with computers and computers games too. With computers becoming
common not only to offices but homes too, children are able to access the computer
easily and more to it have given up their physical games to involve themselves with
computers games. To this effect, concern have been raised in form of thesis claiming
that children playing computer learning games learn faster and they retain what they
have played.
The above thesis is true to some extent because it is taken like experiments done in
higher level education, the task will be retained in one s head. Likewise when a
child plays a learning game that requires he or she to practice a certain activity for a
long time that point will stick to that kind s mind the same way a student will vividly
remember an experiment process carried out in the laboratory. It is also noted that
computer learning games form a part of entertainment. Research carried out by
institute of center for study of children, youth and media indicate that it is easier for
children to remember a movie they had watched sometimes back. Likewise through
computer video games they will remember the game as a video. Through this
remembering of that game these children will be recalling an educational concept.

6. Four Perspectives Of Psychology Paper
When it comes to psychology it is described as the discipline that is concerned with
behavior and mental process (Wade Travris, 2017, p.3), while also how they are
affected by an organism s external and internal environment. Then there is the
scientific perspective also known as the scientific psychologyin, which is rather
based on research and empirical evidence, in which it is gathered by careful
observation, experimentation, and measurement (Wade Travris, 2017, p.3).
Pseudoscience, psychobabble, popular opinion, and plain old common sense all
relate to psychology topics in which scientific psychology challenges them with
psychology s methods and reliance on empirical evidence. Another example of how
psychology addresses topics from a scientific perspective is with critical thinking.
With critical thinking, one assesses claims and makes judgments that are based on
well supported reasons and evidence instead of emotions critical thinking is
fundamental to all science, including psychological science (Wade Travris, 2017,
p.7). Psychology is the scientific study of human feelings, behavior, and thought.
There are four major perspectives in psychology and those are biological, learning
perspective, cognitive, and social cultural perspective. Psychological scientists
typically use these four perspectives, because they each reflect a different question
about human behavior, how the mind works, and it allows them to explain why
people do what they do.
7. History Of Aparthied as It Refers To Cry the Beloved
Country
Hope. It is the one thing that people have survived on for centuries. Without hope,
the African Americans of the early 1800 s would have just succumbed to the will of
the slave owners. This is why Mandela is considered such a great leader. Nelson
Mandela s message through his speeches was one of hope, which is the only thing the
people of Ndotshemi have to thrive on (Chokshi). Alan Paton, the author of Cry the
Beloved Country, also believed in hope bringing together the land of South Africa.
There are many similarities between the novel and the real lifeoccurrencesof the

With him came a sense of hope, which is just what Mandela brought to the South
Africans in their severe time of need (US Congress 1996).
Mandela really seems to believe that if the youth of the nation don t realize their
power, ground will ever be made in the unification of the whites and Afrikaners. The
grandson is learning to speak Zulu, so as to unite the two worlds, which are thus
intertwined. Nelson Mandela states in one of his many speeches, I pay tribute to the
endless heroism of youth, you, the young lions. You, the young lions, have energized
our entire struggle. (Mandela 1996) In the court where Absalom is sentenced, the one
to help Kumalo is the young white man from the reformatory, breaking the racial
divide,
which had otherwise segregated the room. As the novel depicts, the youth of the area
seem to be the only ones able to put aside their differences.
They can accomplish this because the differences between the two divisions are
getting blurrier with each generation. As shown in the book, people of different races
can now seem to get along if they try hard enough, such as the case between Steven
Kumalo and James Jarvis.(Paton Cry...)
And so it has come to pass, that South Africa today undergoes her rebirth, cleansed of
a horrible past, matured from a tentative beginning, and reaching out to the future
with confidence, (Mandela 1994) Nelson Mandela predicts. They
8. Dark Alliance By Gary Webb
Dark Alliance GARY Webb book review
In the book Dark Alliance by Gary Webb, is about the conspiracy of how the CIA
had monitored the selling of crack cocaine in America to help fund the Nicaraguan
contras secretly. And also during this process the Nicaraguan drugs were being sold
to inner cities to create a drug known as crack that harmed the black population
drastically.
First of all Gary Webbhad made a newspaper over this topic Gary was once a news
paper reporter and when he released the paper version of dark alliance it shocked
America many believing it was real many believing there was not enough evidence
however it has stood till today as being an accurate interpretation of corruption that
indeed happened in present day America.
The book tells us the story of how this all went down, basically there was a Latin
American army that was obtaining profits from the illegal drugs that were being
sold to the inner city gang groups known as the Crips and bloods. and while all this
was happening the CIA was well aware and in fact they were supposedly running the
whole operation. Know that the drugs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

saw this was a problem and created a counter move to make Webb s findings
irrelevant to try and make America not believe in his story. After this incident Webb
was demoted for telling the truth so quit soon after.
Thane eventually many of the suspensions came to light when the inspector general
of the CIA had confessed that the CIA was involved in the drug trafficking between
the contras and the united states and also stated that the operation was under wraps
for 13 years there was no documentation of the events. However the American
government just pretended as if nothing was ever going
9. Analysis Of Erin Brockovich By Director Steven Soderbergh
Taking a shower, washing your car, living life, all require one common element,
water. Roughly seventy percent of the surface of Earth is liquid, that s a lot of
H2O. With such an abundance of this natural resource why do so many not have
access to a reliably clean source? Industrialization was the problem for the residents
of Hinkley, California as portrayed by director Steven Soderbergh s 2000 drama
titled Erin Brockovich. A movie that made the public aware of a life threating
substance found throughout the world. Erin Brockovich is based on the community
of Hinkley, California a town located in the Mojave Desert. Where more than 600
residents were destructively affected by groundwater that was polluted with
ChromiumVI (CrVI) also known as hexavalent chromium. Three miles southeast of
Hinkley, is the site of Hinkley Compressor Station 3, owned by the Pacific Gas and
Electric Company (PG E). The compressor is used to compress natural gas as it is
transported through pipelines running from Texas to California. The California Water
Science Center reports that during the 1950s and 1960s the compressors cooling
water was treated with Cr VI to prevent corrosion of the compressor station. That
cooling water was then released into unlined ponds subsequently releasing
contaminates into the soil and groundwater (U.S. Geological Survey 2016).
Chromium is not a new finding. Its original discovery was made during the 1700s
when Johann Gottlob Lehmann acquired a mineral that had
10. Use Of Imagery In Truman Capote s In Cold Blood
In Cold Blood Response At this point in the book, the killers, Dick and Perry, are
on the run. Detective Dewey is struggling to find clues. He thinks that there may
have been more than one killer. Dewey is also having trouble finding a motive, as
he tries to reimagine the crime. One literary device that Capote utilizes is imagery.
It is most noticeable when he describes the atmosphere of the town after the murder.
Imagination, of course, can open any door turn the key and let terror walk right in.
Ever since the murder, the people of Holcomb have been imagining the worse.
Capote puts it perfectly as he describes the town that the hunters see when they first
arrive from Colorado: windows ablaze, almost every window in almost every house,
11. Remembrance Day Research Paper
Remembrance Day is a time to celebrate the life and death of our fallen heros. This
is a somber day, but for many it is a day dedicated to the their loved ones, who
fought and died or fought and survived. World War Two claimed the lives of forty
five thousand Canadian soldiers and left over fifty four thousand wounded,
mentally and physically. It is a great honour to serve your country and those who
have should never be forgotten now or a thousand years from now. They should be
remembered everyday, not just one day a year. Without their sacrifice we would
not bed able to express ourselves the way we can now. So please do not let their
ultimate acts of bravery go in vain. Forty four thousand is three times the population
of GrandFalls Windsor. Imagine taking the whole town, multiplying it by three and
then wiping it out. Forty four thousand Canadian soldiers, with mothers and father,
brothers and sisters, all killed within six years. If this was your loved one would you

12. Reflection On Gospels
I think Jesus is always looking out for us. I think he has a plan, that plan is made
long before our parents even dreamed of having kids. I know many get angry with
God saying how can he let these evil things happen here on earth. When you think
about it Jesus gave us the power to kill, abuse animals and children, and all around
do terrible things to innocent people. Yet, I believe Jesusmade these challenges for us
so that we may overcome them, so that when the day comes, and Jesus does return to
earth we will be in a better place alongside Jesus.
From my twelve years at Catholic School, I thought I had learned everything about
Jesus. It was not until I read Borg did I learn about the three pillars of the Gospels.

Yet, it is for teaching sexual abstinence through funded programs, and it supports
civic affirmation in Christianity, such as prayer in public schools (Borg, 2011, p. 297).
The Emerging Christianity is a new way of adapting old traditions of Christianity to
accommodate to our changing society. It is being practiced in seminaries and
congregations. Emerging Christianity is closer to the teachings of Jesus because it
includes everyone and it is centered around the three things Jesus emphasized
himself; compassion, justice, and peace. Emerging Christianity does not say anything
about excluding homosexuals, those who get abortions, and the teachings of
evolution. Yet, it focuses on practices and teachings of the Christian tradition,
especially to the older generation, allowing them to rediscover God whom they might
have become skeptical of. Life is about following Jesus and becoming one with God,
and overall Emerging Christianity does just that, by inflicting fewer judgments and
teaching Christianity for a better understanding (Malloy, 2007, p. 27).
Fr. Rick and Father Richard both have strong opinions. Personally, I see both sides,
a world that wants government involved and a world that does not. I feel that many
of what conservatives believe in is what Catholics believe in, such as, abortion, the
death penalty, and same sex marriage is wrong. To be honest, before I came to the

13. A Doll s House And The Glass Menagerie
Symbolism is frequently used in dramatic works to represent abstract ideas and
qualities, potentially in the form of people, objects, places, or actions. Henrik Ibsen
s A Doll s House and Tennessee Williams The Glass Menagerie each include
various symbols to represent the social messages that the authors are trying to
convey to the audience. In A Doll s House, the central character, Nora Helmer, can
be seen as a symbolherself. Her family and her husband treat her like a doll, and this
oppression and condescension is the reason for her inner unhappiness and longing
for independence. As well, Ibsen also focuses on the solo dance that Nora performs
the Tarantella. This dance emphasizes Nora s feelings of separation and isolation

The importance of the fire escape is pronounced right at the beginning of the play:
The apartment faces an alley and is entered by a fire escape, a structure whose
name is a touch of accidental poetic truth, for all of these huge buildings are always
burning with slow and implacable fires of human desperation (Williams 1). The
fire escape is used by all of the characters to ordinarily enter and exit the apartment,
but it is also a means of escape. Laura Wingfield suffers from a bad leg that makes
her incapable of leaving her home. Since it is too difficult for her to use the stairs
of the fire escape to leave, she prefers the safety of the apartment. The one time
Laura returns from the store and uses the fire escape she trips on the stairs, clearly
demonstrating how vulnerable she is in the outside world, and how greatly she is
bound to her private world within the apartment. Conversely, Tom Wingfield, Laura s
brother, wants nothing more than to follow in his father s footsteps and leave his
family behind. He frequently uses the fire escape to go out and smoke, which shows
just how much he dislikes life inside of the apartment, and foreshadows his eventual
getaway. Williams hints at escape throughout the entire play, highlighting it as one of
the key themes. Tom is constantly comparing the loyalty he feels towards his mother
and sister versus his true longing to leave home and be free of the confines of

What is the common environment of children being diagnosed with ADD? Do
most children being diagnosed with ADD come from a home or attend school in a
strict and structured environment? Are they just being kids when they are
daydreaming or fidgeting or do they really have a problem that warrants treatment
or medication? Many of the children being diagnosed are from the upper class or
live in the suburbs so it seems that the 3 parents and teachers just want a cookie cut
out kid . They want the child to always be on his best behavior. Children develop
differently and some just need a little more time to mature. If ADD symptoms occur
at home and school the child s temperament needs to be taken into account. The child
may be younger therefore more immature than his classmates and this may cause the
teacher to think he needs to be tested (Michigan State University, 2010). If the child s
daily life is negatively affected it may be more than temperament, but it may not be
ADD. Who has input in diagnosing children with ADD? Specialists must rely on
parents and teachers to give information about the children s symptoms, but are the
children just being unmanageable and unruly or do they truly have a problem? The
specialist is given a list of the symptoms, but this is purely subjective. The parents
have the most input since they are the ones mostly spending time with the kids, but
teachers are also asked for input. Parents sometimes are manipulated by the

10/24/2010 In this course I have learned about different social problems in
societies worldwide. Some of these include poverty, social inequality,
discrimination of race and culture, urbanization, and more. After learning all these
subjects and more, I have decided to do my final on social inequality and
minorities in the United States. I chose this particular topic because I have seen
this in almost every place have lived. I find it appalling that minorities are still not

They have had to deal with numerous inequalities throughout time. After slavery
they were not given equal rights. There were many rights rallies and according to
the statistics, they are still not receiving equal pay. There used to be restaurants
that would not serve a person of color and they were even told they could only sit
in the back of buses. Though we have overcome most of this we have not overcome
hate crimes. Every group has encountered unequal or cruel treatment based on
nothing more than a characteristic about them. Though the hate crime rate had
dropped in 2007 there was a rise of anti gay crime. Now with the new election the
hate crime rate has risen again. This shows the problem is not diminishing and that
we need to find a way to get this under control. Criminal justice is another area of
social inequality for minorities in the U.S. Getting a fair trial is difficult is one is
accused of a crime that is a stereotype. If a minority is accused of rape, murder,
theft, assault, or many other crimes, it may be hard to get a fair trial if the jury
basis the evidence against stereotypes. Another aspect to this is that minorities are
not given as many options as others. If they are in lower income areas, have less
education or just less options general their chances of living a life of crime is high.

In Defense of Polygamy Aisha Lemu discusses her beliefs on Polygamy. Polygamy
is a form of marriage where a man or women is allowed to have more than one
spouse. Most of the time it occurs in the form of Polygyny; were a man has more
than one wife. Mrs. Lemu states that it is possible that Polygamy has its benefits, and
it could have tremendous effects on any community. According to Aisha Lemu,
marriageis an investment instead of an agreement; however, Mrs. Lemu is inaccurate.
Lemu thinks that Polygamyis the legitimate way to handle a marriage, but in reality
Lemu needs to comprehend that Polygamy is ultimately wrong. As a matter of fact
Polygamy is an ancient practice known in a variety of societies. Although this
belief is horrific, and biblically wrong, people still consider taking part of these
actions as Mrs. Lemu discusses. This Practice is found in nearly every country and
even in the United States; however, it is primarily found in the Islamic society.
Marriage is supposed to be the mutually forming of a bond between couples. In this
bond couples are to cherish each other through sickness, and health, richer or poorer.

Chinas natural resources include its vast farmland, water supply, mineral deposits,
and plant and animal biodiversity. The country is rich with natural resources and
utilizes them for tourism and exporting. China is a large country with much of its
land dedicated to farming. Approximately ten percent of its rich soils is farmland.
The country produces wheat, corn, rice and many other cash crops for exportation.
Water is another vast resource in the country. China is ranked sixth in the world in
total water supply, which it utilizes to produce electricity via the hydropower
industry. The country is also rich with mineraldeposits. In total, there are 150
minerals found in China. The country is even ranked number one in the world for
having the most deposits of 12 different minerals. It is considered one of the only
countries in the world with such a large variety of minerals. China has ample
biodiversity in its plant and animal life. Many of its plants and animals are very rare
throughout the world. To protect its plant and animal resources, the people of China
have built many nature reserves. The country also has a rich supply of oceanic
resources, utilized for aquaculture, and exports many of its seafood goods.
It is lender in mining gold, zinc, lead, molybdenum, iron ore, coal, tin, tungsten, rare

Today we are well aware of mental illness and how it s a result of natural,
biological processes in the brain, but in the 19th century women were driven to
illness by the life thrust upon them in the form of oppression and societal

texts of, or set in, that time, such as Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (1847), Wide
Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys (1966), and Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier (1938). All
three texts reveal how madness was a stigma established by the patriarchy, and how
such insanity was a direct result of subjugation. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Throughout the novel, it is revealed that Rebecca employed her femininity in ways
that kept her from the attic imprisonment central to Jane Eyre and Wide Sargasso
Sea. Mrs Danvers points out to Favell, that he meant nothing to Rebecca. Her game
was to refuse to be passive and instead claim the upper hand over men, in order to
defy social norms of femininity. Rebecca is described as animalistic, and is
accused of frequently using curse words, and low, bestial intellect for purposes of
deception described as vicious, damnable, rotten through and through. Similar to
how Rochester imprisoned Bertha to protect his position in society, it is suggested
Maxim tolerates Rebecca s infidelity so as to sustain his public image. Rebecca for
her part, if her promiscuity and her incapability to love are to be believed, is insane
as she rejects societal expectations. Rebecca hated the expectations Maxim expected
her to follow, and unlike the narrator, Rebecca rejects submissiveness and in doing
so rejects the male dominated society she was oppressed by, which consequently
gave grounds for her to be considered insane. It can be viewed that Bertha s
entrapment in the attic has the same purpose as Rebecca s murder to silence
subordinate women. Additionally, similar to the fires in Jane Eyre and Wide

Using P element Induced Male Recombination to Generate a Deletion in the DMAP1
Gene on Chromosome Two in Drosophila melanogaster
Abstract: The goal of this study was to induce a deletion in the DMAP1 gene on
chromosome two in Drosophila melanogaster through P element mobilization. The
DMAP1 gene may be an essential gene, however not much is known about it. We
attempted to uncover the function of DMAP1 by creating a series of genetic
crosses and selecting for brown eyed non stubble male flies that may have the
deletion. To test whether these flies had the deletion, we produced PCR products
and ran them on an agarose gel, which resulted as inconclusive. We created a
balanced stock of flies homozygous for the deletion to see if the ... Show more content

For example, wings clipped P elements that lack the inverted repeats (not able to be
mobilized themselves), which are not internally deleted and can produce a
transposase source, can be introduced to the internally deleted P element to provide
transposase and therefore allow transposition to occur. The provided transposase
recognizes and binds to inverted repeats on the internally deleted P element, which
introduces nicks in the DNA beside the inverted repeats. This allows the element to
excise and insert into a new location. If it excises neatly out of the DNA, a deletion
will not occur. However, if it excises to a homologue towards the right or the left,
due to an error in the excision process, a deletion will occur through this pre meiotic
recombination event. This process of P element mobilization is the basis of how we
directed recombination in male flies, and therefore the basis of generating deletions
in the DMAP1 gene. We made several crosses that allowed P element mobilization to
occur in male flies by crossing P element strains (non autonomous) to a transposase
source, producing heterozygous flies containing a P element and a transposase
source, and therefore allowing us to induce and detect male recombination events in
progeny. The specific recombination event of interest is when the P element is
mobilized towards the right onto a homologue, which may have induced a deletion in
22. Traumatic Brain Injury Essay
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is the result of an external force against the head that
causes displacement of the cranial structures, either through impact with an object
or through acceleration and deceleration. TBI is not isolated to a single ethnic
group, socioeconomic class, or region (Berquist et al., 2009; Jang et al., 2013). In
2002, the United States had the highest incidence of reported TBI cases of any
developed country. The incidence of hospital admissions due to closed head injuries
in the United States was estimated to be approximately 200 per 100,000 people, and
the number of penetrating head injuries was estimated to be 12 per 100,000
approximately 500,000 new cases in total. Many of those cases had significant...

There is currently limited information regarding the long term effects of brain
injuries sustained in battle (Mass et al., 2008). In the military population, TBI cases
are sometimes co morbid with post traumatic stress disorder. Post traumatic stress
disorder and TBI can present with similar symptoms of cognitive impairment,
which further complicates the process of making an accurate diagnosis (Tanev,
Pentel, Kredlow, Charney, 2014). Injuries associated with TBI are divided into two
categories: primary injuries and secondary injuries. Primary injuries are the direct
physical damage incurred at the moment the trauma occurs. Secondary brain
injuries occur indirectly as a result of trauma and usually appear hours or days after
the initial injury. Secondary injuries exist as result of or separate from the initial
injury. They cause complications such as hemorrhaging, alterations in intracranial
pressure (ICP), and neurological deficits. Deterioration can occur even after patients
have been downgraded from critical status. Approximately 40% of all cases of TBI
deteriorate after hospitalization. These complications are a major cause of death in
people with a TBI (Narayan et al., 2002). The brain normally maintains a state of
homeostasis, meaning the cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) stays within a normal
range to adequately carry blood to the brain. The protective
23. The Suez Crisis
In the Suez Crisis, not all other ways of resolving the problem should have been
tried first because it was a surprise attack on Egypt. The British did not try other
ways of solving the crisis and did not try diplomacy with Egypt. The British took
prompt action against Nasser because they feared that their power in the Middle East
would be compromised because of him. (Dooley) They colluded with France and
Israelso that they would all attack Egyptand forcefully recover the Suez Canal. Prime
Minister Eden did not consider many options besides war because he saw a
parallel between how Hitler had begun by remilitarizing the Rhineland; Nasser had
expropriated the Suez Canal. (Kunz 97) Consequently, he did not want to try to
appease Nasser because he feared that the Egyptians would influence the rest of the
Middle East and cut off their oil supply. Although war should have been a last resort
the British s immediate impulse was to hit Nasser hard and quickly (Dooley).
Clearly, diplomacy was not considered because the British hoped to seize the Suez
Canal by force. This is why they secretly colluded in hopes of bombarding the
Egyptians and forcing them to relinquish control of the canal. Almost immediately,
Britain with France started well publicized military preparations in the Mediterranean
they hoped to force Egypt to agree to give the Suez Canal to the international
community. (Epstein) When Egypt refused British, France and Israel retaliated
against the Egyptians.

Nature is a part of the Native American culture; in fact, it is essential to the Native
Americans. The landscape, scenery, plants, animals, climate, habitat, and the
microorganisms that all make up the Native American s culture demonstrates the true
connection between nature and this culture. In contrasting points, two Native
American writers reveals what is occurring on their land; Momaday portrays the
Rainy Mountain as a new creation and a new life for living organisms, while Brown
portrays the Plains as a decimated piece of land induced by the man made items that
were created from humans. Both Momaday and Brown explains the scenery and

Momaday uses imagery to help describe the scenery in his situation. Momaday uses
the words grass belts, river, to pinpoint what the Rainy Mountain has. The Rainy
Mountain has all the necessities for citizens to survive in this ecosystem. There are
green plants to produce oxygen to have a lasting world with oxygen. The word river

exemplifies life and purity.. Momaday includes the word witch hazel which is a
compound to treat blemishes and purify the skin. Momaday includes more that one
word that have the same meaning to bring an emphasis on the aspect that the Rainy
Mountain is pure, even though there are blizzards, tornadoes, and strong wind.
Brown, on the other hand, reveals that the sun baked the dry earth drier, the streams

explains how the sun is causing the Plains to have less water, drying up the earth and
the streams. This is the complete antithesis of what Momaday had stated, Momaday

often to grab a meal, but let s take a moment to analyze the employees they
encounter. For hypothetical purposes let s assume there are ten employees working
at any given time, half of which are high school or graduate students. The remaining
staff are typically middle aged adults. The majority of these adults are working either
part time or full time while generally making a mere $7.25 per hour. Yearly, this
minimum wageincome brings in less than $17,000 for that household. Current

Nearly 15 million children from the United States live in families with an income
below the national poverty line (Kenway, 2008). Solutions to this major issue are
limited. In 2008, government took a big step towards addressing child poverty (
Kenway, 2008). Larger steps are being taken to encourage more government
involvement. Things such as affordable, quality, local child care, enabling parents
to advance skills in the workforce, and more flexible working parental leave are all
being discussed. The best and most effective way to solve this particular issue is to
help the families advance in work rather than provide things such as welfare and
assistance where it shouldn t be needed. If employees were being paid fairly they
would not rely so heavily on government assistance. Sadly, it is often the case that
parents of young children are better off collecting welfare that allows them to
provide for their children while being home with them. In this type of situation,
pride is a large sacrifice in order to not suffer the penalties of low wage

remained stagnant and did not become completely recognized for matters
concerning mental illness in the courts until Jenkins vs. United States in 1962 (Dye,

developed and published by the Committee on Special Guidelines for forensic
psychology (American Psychological Association, 2012). In 2001, forensic
psychology became and medically accepted as a sub discipline with psychology by
the American Psychology Association ( Forensic Psychologist Psychology Jobs in

A forensic psychologist could work for the courts, police, prosecutors, defendants,
prisons, or in civil matters like child custody hearings. Forensic psychology is a

current model of education for a forensic psychologist is earning a doctoral degree in
psychology and a post doctoral degree in either law or forensics (Franklin, 2014).

Every year, about four hundred twenty one thousand people are injured in a car
crash involving distracted driving. In the United States alone, nine people are killed
and over one thousand are injured every day in a car accident involving a distracted
driver. Distracted driving is responsible for the majority of accidentsthat take place in
the state of California. The rapidly increasing rate of fatality occurring in California
proves distracted drivinghas become a fatal epidemic. Alike a disease that has the
ability to wipe out an entire population, distracted driving has proven to be equally as
devastating. Many people may argue that the laws currently in place in California is
all that can be done to eliminate or minimize the trauma that results from the issue.
Although, the thousands of people who have lost their loved ones to car accidents

has not done enough to prevent distracted driving nor enforce punishment upon those
responsible. At first glance, many people believe that the state of California has done
enough to prevent distracted driving. California has multiple laws currently in effect
that prevent and limit distracted driving. California governor, Jerry Brown, has
addressed the issue that continues to escalate as fatalities multiply. He has stated his
opinions and plans for further prevention and action to be taken. Most recently,
Brown signed the Assembly Bill 1785 that

38. Media And Its Impact On The Political Movement Essay
The norm of journalism is to present information or news to the general public via
mass media. Thus, it plays an important part in everyday life. Notwithstanding, media
have a vigorous relation with politics especially among the democratic societies
(Fernandez Quijada 2013). Moreover, the media is also perceived as the fourth estate
due to the fact that it able to influence and affects the perceptions of the general
public towards the political movement (Kemp 2013). However, in comparison to the
past, nowadays, the modernisation of technology, the change of social patterns and
political conditions somewhat change how the media works (Gerth Siegert 2012). In
their article stated that media companies are predominantly private owned companies,
thus, the media are more to market orientation. Therefore, the media are not
necessarily providing vital information to the general public (Gerth Siegert 2012).
Henceforth, the media commonly utilise the practise of framing to provide
