1. Outliers Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Outliers" can be a challenging yet intellectually stimulating
endeavor. The difficulty lies not only in the necessity to thoroughly understand Malcolm
Gladwell's seminal work, but also in the task of critically analyzing and synthesizing its key
concepts. The essay would require a deep dive into the factors that contribute to success, such as
cultural background, individual effort, and external opportunities.
Crafting an insightful essay on outliers involves navigating through complex ideas and theories,
including the 10,000-hour rule, cultural legacies, and the role of timing in success. One must also
explore the implications of these concepts in various fields, from business and sports to
education and beyond. Additionally, incorporating real-world examples and case studies to
support arguments adds another layer of difficulty, requiring extensive research and analytical
skills.
Moreover, the challenge lies in presenting a cohesive and well-structured narrative that not only
comprehensively covers the topic but also engages the reader. Balancing the use of Gladwell's
ideas with one's own interpretations and insights is crucial to producing an essay that goes
beyond a mere summary of the book.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Outliers" demands a combination of analytical prowess,
critical thinking, and effective communication skills. It is an opportunity to delve into the
intricacies of success and to present a thoughtful perspective on the factors that contribute to
exceptional achievement.

2. Guinea Worm Eradication Program ( Nigep )
Guinea worm has long been documented in Nigeria, yet despite the long term
presence, there had been little effort to quantify the burden or to prevent the disease
until the inception of the Nigerian Guinea Worm Eradication Program (NIGEP).6
NIGEP was developed with the goal of eliminating guinea worm cases in Nigeria.
However, this program also aimed to better understand the full burden and
distribution of the disease in Nigeria and to define a framework to begin to initiate
prevention measures for the disease.6
The announcement of the inception of NIGEP in 1988 was quite bold due to the
lack of data on the burden of guinea worm nationally and the lack of effort
previously taken to prevent the disease in Nigeria. What might explain a seemingly
rash decision by the Ministry of Health, is that a UNICEF sponsored study was
released in 1987 documenting the high endemicity of guinea worm in Nigeria and
the loss of agricultural productivity that the country was facing.3 Following this
document, a Nigerian newspaper published a cover story on guinea worm and the
need for eradication in the country.3 From there on the Nigerian mass media seemed
to incorporate guinea worm into all modes of the media.3 Finally, the major push for
the NIGEP occurred in 1989 when former United States President Jimmy Carter
travelled to Nigeria to meet the military president of the country and the Sultan of
Sokoto at an international conference in which the President of Nigeria, Ibrahim
Babangida,

a) The value system is also referred to as the industry value chain . The term value
system underlines the fact that activities are not necessarily organised in a linear
fashion, but viewing the activities that make up the final product as a chain is also
useful and underlines the linkage between the concept of the value chain and the
value system . b) Sainsbury have to talk to their customers, regarding the taste of

Price Segmentation Price segmentation is common and widely practiced. Variation
in household incomes creates an opportunity for segmenting some markets along a
price dimension. If personal incomes range from low to high, the reasoning goes,
then a company should offer some cheap products, some medium priced ones, and
some expensive ones. 4. Demographic Segmentation Gender, age, income, housing
type, and education level are common demographic variables. Some brands are
targeted only to women, others only to men. Music downloads tend to be targeted to
the young, while hearing aids are targeted to the elderly. Education levels often
define market segments. For instance, private elementary schools might define their
target market as highly educated households containing women of childbearing age.

4. The U.S. Public Opinion as a Major Factor in the...
Vietnam Essay To what extent was lack of Public Support the main reason for the
eventual US withdrawal from the Vietnam War?
America s involvement in Vietnam gradually escalated from 1945 to 1975.
Historians debate over why America even got involved in Vietnam, however it is
often explained by America believing it should fight against Vietnambecause of what
the Southeast Asian country stood for Communism. Many believe if Vietnam fell to
communism it would only be enforcing Eisenhower s domino theory. Kennedy s
presidency saw an increased commitment to Vietnam with 12,000 advisors by 1962
and increased equipment. Under LBJ, Vietnam had around 200,000 US troops by

Whilst in 1965 the opposition was a minority, it was a growing minority. Yet Johnson
also suffered pressure from `hawks that criticised him for not escalating enough,
stating America never used more than ВЅ its tactical air power in Vietnam. Karnow
also notes that hard liners such as Senator John Stennis who believed America
should mobilise its full military, reflected a significant element of public opinion .
Nixon recognised the home front problem and used tactics to keep the opposition
quiet. This included a withdrawal of 60,000 troops in 1969, Nixon believing he
had little other choice. This demonstrates how public opposition to the war led
foreign policy for the US and how public opinion was a strong influential factor for
the eventual withdrawal. Examples of protest include Oct 1969, in which the
largest anti war protest in American History took place. Protestors took to the
streets in every major city. Radicals even waved VC flags. Nixon rightly claimed
their `numbers were a minority, but their numbers were growing . Another example
of protests was on the 5th May 1970 in which 4 students at Kent State University,
Ohio were shot dead by National Guard . As a result, Nixon backed down and
declared he would get American troops out of Cambodia by June. This demonstrates
again how govt. policy was made in the streets. Although Sanders points out the pro
Nixon public, which in response to Nixon s

8. Heavy Influence On Mexican Culture
Something I learned
Being born into a small town in Texas where a heavy influence on Mexican culture
applies to almost everyone. It makes me realized that food really plays a major part
in identifying myself as a Mexican. Because the food, makes our culture unique. In
addition, learning to make my very first ever batch of tamales made me realized that
it was a memorable experience.
It was early in the morning, and I had just woken up because I hear voices and
objects being moved around in my grandma s kitchen. I got up from the bed and
made my way down the hallway straight to the kitchen. Once I entered the kitchen I
saw all of my aunts with my grandma kneading the corn flour. I just stood there by
the wooden door and watched as my aunts would laugh and talk to each other while
the kneaded the corn flour. It was a beautiful sight to see because of the sunlight
that was coming in from the window was hitting their faces and making it look like
they were glowing. I started to look around the medium size room and saw the big
dining table in the middle of the kitchen leaving little space to walk around properly.
I had walked into the kitchen, and all my aunts turned around and saw me standing
there. My aunt Diana told me in Spanish Come over and sit down and help us make
tamales for Christmas dinner. It s about time you start learning our Mexican
traditions. So I went and washed my hand before being able to sit down next to her
and she told me to help knead the dough with

The police man s role depict the act of storytelling as another form of the truth
because the truth arise from within the characters perspective. Considering that
perspective plays a small role in the act of storytelling, the truth told may not be the
actual truth. Therefore, the central role focuses on the question of who to believe.
Antigone in New York highlights a different story told by the policeman and the
stories told by the homeless: Sasha, Anita and Flea. The policeman becomes a major
role in storytelling because the policeman s perspectives influence the other
characters. That is to say, storytelling though the policeman s view provides a focus
on authority. The policeman explains When you give them food, or money, or
clothes, or vaccine, all you teach them in dependence (Glowacki 8) to illustrate how
he interprets what he sees. The policeman only shares what he sees of the homeless
people in New York; there are not other interaction played within the context. Thus,
storytelling gies a form of truth based on assumptions. In addition, the perspective in
storytelling distorts the truth because the stories represent one point of view. In The
Pillowman, the policemen s perspective illustrates how storytelling distorts the truth
for Katurian. Tupolski and Ariel provide a truth that hides the actual truth for
Katurian, who questions the safety of his
10. Comparing Study Designs for Citation Bias
In an explanatory research design, the most likely kind of bias is the citation type. In
citation bias, researchers may be reluctant to publish some discouraging findings,
especially if they believe that they may tarnish their reputations or personal abilities
and affect the effectiveness of their products. For that reason, citation bias makes
researchers submit positive results only for publication, while suppressing negative
findings. In most cases, the motive of citation bias is to gain popularity or self
appraisal (Riegelman, 2005). Positive results, also known as statistically significant
findings, may include results that show that a certain intervention is functioning well.
Citation bias is likely to be encountered in explanatory research designs because
through them, causal hypotheses can be investigated, analyzed, tested, and published.
Explanatory research investigates why certain variables are related and it tries to
look into the causes of certain phenomena. However, in the process of publication of
the findings, some researchers are likely to concentrate on positive results alone and
ignore the negative ones (Riegelman, 2005).
Citation bias may be common in medical research studies, especially in those that try
to find the cure for a significantly important or mysterious pathogen. In this case,
only the positive sides of the results are likely to be published. For example, a
potential drug against a certain intractable virus, which has been researched on, is

The authors do an excellent job providing extensive detailed accounts of the events

If the reader is seeking a dry and monotonous academic account, they will certainly
not find it here as the history is brilliantly retold in a page turning and dramatic

12. What I Learned From Class
Last year I came across a shocking discovery. One that made me question my
ethnic background as a whole. My biological father told me that he is originally
from Ireland and at the age of 9 he moved to America. When my dad lived in
Ireland he lived with my grandparents eventually his mother moved to America;
after the divorce. Since his father was unable to take care of him he was put in an
orphanage, since they had no knowledge on where his mother was. Eventually, after
4 years he was adopted by my grandmother who lived in Brooklyn, New York. My
grandparents were on vacation in Irelandwhen they met my father visiting an
orphanage and decided to adopt him. However, my father told me about Ireland
and how the lifestyle he was custom to in Ireland is completely different from the
lifestyle he had to grow accustom to in America. Some of the stories I was able to
draw a comparison with to what we learned from class. The first story I was told is
that he was not the only child in the orphanage moving to America from Ireland.
There was a group of eight that flew together and escaped the lonely life of being by
themselves. Shortly after moving to Brooklyn, New York, my father started to attend
public school and mentioned how public schools were completely different than the
schools he attended in Ireland. After doing research I found out that in the 1980s
schools in Ireland were receiving a large amount of funds from the government
(Carone 5). However, Ireland s school system into

Young journalists in schools around America feel like they are being denied their
first amendment. In Ocean Lake high school 2 out of 5 school papers aren t

District v. Kuhlmeier Supreme Court case, in 1988, states that students cannot be
censored by student officials if they have established the paper as a public
forum(Innterobang/2007/3). Two of the articles were about teen pregnancy in, which
he interviewed some, and Parent divorce. The articles were thrown out because there
was no time to edit it, in which lead to the students claiming their first amendment
was violated. If the paper receives any funding from the school, the school can have
special guide lines the paper has to follow. Some of the rules are understandable like
promoting drugs, hate articles, and much more shouldn t be in a school paper. There
have been numerous occasions where the students had abused their first amendment.

Like I said earlier, 2 out of 5 papers weren t printed in Ocean Lake high school. If
teens are exposed to real life problems they would be better off in the real world.
Real life problems can be expressed through the school paper.Thats a reason for the
school paper not to be censored. In conclusion I believe the school paper should be
limited to censoring. There should still be censoring to an extent, like when the kid

papers. The censoring shouldn t get as bad as Ocean Lake high school. I think that
teen pregnancy and other teen issues should be in the school paper to inform and
protect the teens of the school. The first amendmaent is avalible for everyone and
should be protected. I side with not censoring the school paper. Which do you side
14. Difference Between Systole And Diastole
Coronary Systole and Diastole
At any given time the chambers of the heart may found in one of two states:
Systole. During systole, cardiac muscle tissue is contracting to push blood out of
the chamber. Diastole. During diastole, the cardiac muscle cells relax to allow the
chamber to fill with blood. Blood pressure increases in the major arteries during
ventricular systole and decreases during ventricular diastole. This leads to the 2
numbers associated with blood pressure systolic blood pressure is the higher number
and diastolic blood pressure is the lower number. For example, a blood pressure of
120/80 describes the systolic pressure (120) and the diastolic pressure (80). The
Cardiac Cycle:

This will allow the atria to completely empty their contents into the ventricles;
simultaneous contraction would cause inefficient filling and backflow. The atria are
electrically isolated from the ventricles, connected only via the AV node which
briefly delays the signal.
Coordinated contraction of ventricular cells. The ventricles must maximize systolic
pressure to force blood through the circulation, so all the ventricular cells must work
together.
Ventricular contraction begins at the apex of the heart, progressing upwards to eject
blood into the great arteries. Contraction that squeezes blood towards the exit is more
efficient than a simple squeeze from all directions. Although the ventricular stimulus
originates from the AV node in the wall separating the atria and ventricles, the Bundle
of His conducts the signal to the apex.
Depolarization propagates through cardiac muscle very rapidly. Cells of the
ventricles contract nearly simultaneously.
The action potentials of cardiac muscle are unusually sustained. This prevents
premature relaxation, maintaining initial contraction until the entire myocardium has
had time to depolarize and
15. The Tyger And The Lamb By William Blake
Everything in the universe has an opposite. This provides a balance, a push and pull,
to the world. Because of this truth, no thing that exists is entirely one thing or the
other. Every animal, object, and event that has ever existed may have had bad effects
in one situation, but good effects for another situation. And every human, by
extension, has aspects about them that can be viewed as both good and evil. In his
poems, The Tyger and, The Lamb , author William Blakeexplores the ideas of duality,
and how each thing must have an equal opposite. He uses both these poems to further
ruminate on this dichotomy and brings up many questions in the context of religion.
He seeks to point out that in the Christian belief system, all things viewed as good
and bad in the world have apparently come from the same thing: God, and yet God is
seen as being entirely good. But if that is the case, then how can God be all good if
all the evil things come from him as well? Is anything then truly evil? Or does it
just seem that way from one perspective? Blake uses these two poems in conjunction
with one another to make the reader question these things and think about what good
and evil actually mean. Blake first published, The Lamb in his poetry collection The
Songs of Innocence, and in this poem he presents a lamb as a metaphor for
innocence and goodness. In the first stanza, the poem repeatedly asks, Little lamb,
who made thee? / Dost thou know who made thee? (LI. 1 2). This question

Over the years, coffee has been termed to be harmful to health, and more people have
turned to tea. Globally, tea is the second most commonly consumed beverage after
water, with black tea constituting 75 percent. All tea originates from the herb
Camellia sinensis. Despite a lot of criticism surrounding caffeinated drinks, when it
comes to black tea, it might be a healthy choice as some studies have shown.
Black tea is made through withering, rolling and fully oxidizing the leaves. Before
the final heating process, black tea leaves are fermented. It contains caffeine,
polyphenols, amino acids, fluoride, carbohydrates, manganese, proteins, potassium,
xanthine, guanine, and trace minerals. It also contains tannins that give it astringency
and catechins which are powerful antioxidants that destroy cancer causing cells and
prevent cardiovascular diseases.
There are various health benefits that are associated with taking black tea regularly
due to the presence of multiple polyphenols and antioxidants. Black tea contains
explicitly complex flavonoids polyphenols that assist in preventing diseases.
Theaflavin and thearubigin are among the flavonoid that acts as strong antioxidants.
Thearubigin gives black tea its red color. Studies have shown that thearubigins
benefit the mind and body in various ways. To harness the power of black tea,
researchers advise that, milk or sugar should not be added.

18. Faith In Yann Martel s Life Of Pi
C.S. Lewis once described faith as the art of holding onto things your reason has
once accepted, in spite of your changing moods. This concept of faith is repeatedly
tested throughout Yann Martel s novel, The Life of Pi. The book follows the life
of Piscine Patel, or Pi for short, and begins with his exploration of faith through
multiple religions in his hometown of Pondicherry, India, and later delves into his
arduous journey of being stranded at sea with a 420 pound Bengal tiger for 227
days. From his time in Pondicherry to the end of his seemingly ceaseless time at
sea, he is faced with many troublesome dilemmas and life threatening situations, all
of which try the vitality of his faith and his will to live. Through the story of Pi s
life, Martel shows that, although being faced with doubt is inevitable, one must
choose to overcome it with faith because constantly searching for proof to settle
doubt is a hindrance to the quality of one s life. Martel suggests that one must
overcome doubt with faith because it helps the ability to see the better stories of life,
rather than continuously searching for similar, drier, stories based on more
convincing factual elements. These better stories are full of imagination, are a more

Without it, we may end up walking straight into the face of danger when there is a
warning sign right in front of us. However, Martel wrote The Life of Pi to convey
the message that one must not spend their life trapped in an endless spiral of this
doubtful mindset, and instead choose to have faith in what there may not be proof
for. In doing so, time is spared, countless aspects of life are improved, and the will
to survive in dire situations becomes nearly indestructible. In this dynamic society,
the choice of doubt or faith will always be there, but it is up to the people to choose

Many authors have utilize historical events that have occurred throughout the world

city of Macondo is going through a crisis of civil wars between the liberal and the
conservatives who are attempting to corrupt the town. In the play Fences by August

Wilson portrayed a series of ten plays during the Pittsburgh Cycle to to showcase
the lifestyle of African Americans. Many African during this time period of the
1950 s were dealing with racism and discrimination. African American had no or
very little rights. It was a harsh and difficult time that African Americans had to live
through there were many inequalities they face on white color jobs. In addition,
this was the prime time of the Civil rights Era, which contribute to the injustice they
faced. However during the mid 1950 s time did began to progress and things
changed for African Americans for the better. Wilson expressed this through his play,
he mentioned that the Maxson here frequently facing discrimination in their town
by the white people. The protagonist Troy Maxson dealt with discrimination the
most. In the first scene Troy states that he was working in a company owned by
whites. He was very disappointed at the fact that he worked a low quality job
compared to the non color men; the white men who worked at the company drove
trucks (white collar) while Troy had to pick up trash (blue collar). Unfortunately,
Troy was not given the same privilege as the white men due to African American
descendants. Troy could not stand for this inequality, so he talked to his boss
demanding that he wanted to drive the truck rather that
22. Margaret Atwood Film Techniques
Costume Design is one of the most important factors in the filmmaking process. A
single piece of clothing can change the audiences perception of a character.
Contemporary films use costume design in a way to create a realistic and familiar
setting, while period dramas or films from another time use it as a way to shape a
character. Throughout the years, the approach to costume design has evolved but the
heart of it has never wavered. Films are affected greatly by the use of clothingand
costume design, leaving a great responsibility on the shoulders of the designer.

an issue when it comes to Atwood as she deviated from the traditional blue dress of
Alice while still keeping the essence of her character. Throughout the film, Alice
had 8 looks resulting in around 20 hand made looks due to the need for multiples in
case of damage. Alice also allowed Atwood to create virtual costumes as well with
the CGI process. This meant working with oddly shaped characters and needing to
create virtual fabrics, trims, and buttons. Getting to explore and adventure into the
world of fantasy was intriguing to Atwood and led to beautiful results. (Gallagher
24. A Reflective Account of Valuing Diversity and One Aspect...
A reflective account of valuing diversity and one aspect of anti discriminatory
practice which relates to a client from clinical placement. This is a reflective essay
which will give an account of the concept of valuing diversity and one aspect of anti
discriminatory practice. Its aim is to demonstrate these concepts by explaining their
relationship with regards to a diverse client whom I have cared for during my
placement. Valuing diversity is recognising differences and turning them into positive
characteristics. Howard (2004) supports this theory by defining valuing diversity as
being aware of, sensitive to, and appreciating differences. The Department of Health

25. The Altar By George Herbert
The Altar Analysis
The Altar by George Herbert is the first poem to appear in The Church. His poems
are a record of his private devotional life. In the poem The Altar , George Herbert
creates an altar, which is also required of Moses in the Bible. He makes the altar out
of his heart and holds it together with his tears. No one alters the tears from the way
God made them. He puts his heart into this altar that he makes to praise God. In
the end, he wants God s sacrifice to be his, and for God to bless the altar that he
built for him. (Greenberg). This poem that is in the shape of an altar explains how
it takes work from the heart to build a relationship with God. In the poem The Altar
, George Herbert uses allusions to scriptures, he also uses symbolism, and his poem
has two themes: religion and art. This poem by George Herbert makes allusions to
the scriptures in the Bible. In the first two lines of the poem, he talks about offering
a sacrifice to God. Herbert says A broken ALTAR, Lord, thy servant rears, Made of a
heart and cemented with tears; . These lines refer to the Old TestamentPsalms 71:17
which states The Sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart,
O God, thou wilt not despise. (Bible Gateway) In lines three and four Herbert
writes Whose parts are as thy hand did frame; No workman s tool hath touch d the
same. He states that while he was building his altar he is going to stick to the rules
that God laid down about altars
26. Tolstoy s The Death Of Ivan Illych
In The Death of Ivan Illych, Tolstoy portrays life similar to a game of bridge,
leaving us to question if life is left up to chance or is there a technique to increase
our likelihood of success. Implementing card strategy and the social network that
comes with it, bridge becomes a significant symbol of how Ivan conducted himself
throughout his existence. Paralleling Peter and Ivan s characters, Tolstoy distorts
time and reverses the story s sequence with Peter attending the funeral leading up to
Ivan s death. The reversal of the story creates a near paradox between Ivan s
happiness playing bridge coinciding with the unbearable pain he experiences also
while playing bridge. Finally, the an omnipresence of the card dealer creates a

marriage and children dying, he slips into work and cards. Ivan s superficial

we see Ivan s pleasures being strictly vanity, we can conclude Ivan s vanity resides
in his superior card skills and his vanity keeping him from accepting his own

American being the melting pot that it is, is made up of many different types of
people that have different political priorities. During an election year, these
priorities are discussed even more often and more heatedly. Newscasters light this
debate fire daily, as do politicians. Some of these issues are absolutely essential to
the American political life and should be discussed and evaluated in order to make
America great. Even when parties are on opposite sides of an issue, they can agree
that priorities need to be established and evaluated (Gallup, 2016). In evaluating
today s society both economic and social issues top the list of priorities. Economic
issues top the list of priorities for most American. Unemployment is a word that
Americans hear on a daily basis. Currently the 62.7% of adults who are able to
work are currently working and three major factors are driving the decrease in
workers. Due to the large number of baby boomers who are retiring, which is
healthy and understandable, we have a decline in the number of adults who work.
Another positive reason is due to a larger number of college students and graduate
students. The cause that is worrisome is the people who have given up on finding
work. The Wall Street Journal estimates that about 2.6 million of the roughly 92
million American adults who don t work want a job but aren t looking for one

A Study to Determine if Phonics Will Help Third Grade Students to Increase Their
Reading Ability
Beverly Smith
September 24, 2015
Abstract
The inability to read is a problem that plagues public schools. Many students enter the
third grade reading on a lexile level lower than what is required to be successful.
Some students will be one or two grade levels below the current grade. The students
simply cannot keep up with the demands of the current grade because of the lack of
ability to read. There is a great need to reach students who struggle with reading. The
purpose of this study is to determine if phonics will help third grade students to
improve their reading ability. The study will include seven students in a third grade
intervention room. The students will be taught phonics for a six week period. At
the beginning of the study the students will be given the San Diego Quick
Assessment of Reading Ability as a pretest to determine the reading level. At the end
of the six week period the students will be given the same test as a posttest to
determine progress. Progress will be shown if the students have moved up in reading
levels.
Introduction
Year after year, teachers observe students who enter into their classroom without the
ability to read. The inability to read effects every area of a student s education. The

37. Why Did Europe Conquered Africa And The Americas
Europe conquered Africa and the Americas in many ways. To start off, Christopher
Columbus from Europe sailed west to find a new route to the Indies but instead
came across what he thought was the New World . This New World however was
only new to the Europeans.
The Europeans were looking for territory for the expansion of their own territories
in hopes of finding treasurable things, or precious metals (such as gold), also to
spread their religion and for Glory. These come up to be three things: Gold, Glory,
and God. The Europeans were on a search for valuable things such as Gold and land,
which pushed the expeditions. An example of this would be Cortez s conquering of
the Aztecs. He captured their leader, Montezuma, and gained his trust, then stole their
gold before demanding for more. After this, Montezuma was killed by his own
people and in the end Cortez conquered the Aztecs.
Columbus was also eager to spread his religion throughout the world along with many
others, which was Christianity. This is one of the reasons for his voyages. They
introduced Christianity, which is one of the aspects that helped them take over. After
they got them to follow their religion they enslaved the Indians. ... Show more content

38. Quotes In An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls is set in the 1912 although it was written during 1945. It is
based upon an apparent suicide of a girl called Eva Smith. The reasons for her
death are revealed to the audience through a sequence of events that happened
before she died. The people who contributed to her death are the members of the
capitalist Birling family. The main reason for Inspector s appearance in the play s to
reveal the truth not only about the crime but also to make The Birlings feel collective
responsibility for actions or inactions that led to Eva s death.
Priestley presents The Inspector to the audience as a social activist. His main aim
is to teach the Birlings about the insignificance of money and power when it comes
being a part of a society. He believes they live in a bubble of capitalism ; oblivious
to reality. We are members of one body is a powerful phrase used by the Inspector to
knock some sense into The Birlings, teaching them the importance of community.
The Inspector uses personal pronouns very often. For instance: We suggests that he is
talking on behalf of everyman and not just an individual. It also shows that along
with him, everyone else is part of one society. This pronoun also means that they are
all inter connected, no matter what they think and which social class they belong to.

The Shawshank redemption is an American drama film written and directed by
Frank Darabont in the year 1994, starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The
film s screenplay has been adapted from the Stephen King Novella Rita Hayworth
and Shawshank redemption and talks about the life of a man named Andy Dufresne,
a banker who is sentenced to life imprisonment in the Shawshank State prison for
murder of his wife and her lover, even despite his claims of innocence.
While the main genre of the film is drama, it fits into the sub genres of a crime and
drama thriller due to its complex narrative. The narrative is based on prison life and
how Andy Dufrense who is the protagonist, copes with this life imprisonment.
Shawshank redemption places its emphasis on the action taking place rather than the
psychological meaning, which only adds to the reasoning of why thriller is the main
sub genre. The movie stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freemanas two convicts
serving time in a New England prison named Shawshank. The setting of the film is
mainly of the Shawshank prison, which is an external location and is focused on
the day to day activities of the prisoners. Tim Robbins plays the role of a man
named Andy Dufresne who is the main protagonist, while Morgan Freeman plays
the role of Ellis Boyd Redding or simply Red. Supporting characters are played by
James Whitmore who is Brooks Hatlen, the librarian and one of the oldest convicts in
the prison, Bob Gunton as Warden Samuel Norton who is

In this documentary, The Split Horn Life of a Hmong Shaman in America focuses
on the religious containment of the Hmong people. Their rich history goes back to
the time in a village in North East Asia where they believed that the Shaman were
the great healers for the sick. The Hmong were living a peaceful life until the
Vietnam war broke out and destroyed their village. Many of the Hmong villagers
fled their beloved homeland in order to seek refuge form the war. Many were
fortunate enough to find shelter in Thailand where they stayed for the majority of the
conflict. Some were even lucky enough to get a sponsorship to America. As they
slowly came to America the Hmong were worried that they might lose their religious
roots to the American customs.
Some of the Hmong people had to learn English and how to read and write. In their
village, they never had to learn how to read or write because of their background and
their religion. The Hmong people feel that their culture and values still play a major
role in their daily lives. Many Hmong communities rely on the shamans for religious
and spiritual support. Without the shamans, the Hmong culture would be incomplete
and slowly diminish.
