QUESTIONS
What are your fears about getting a job or internship?

What do you think you have to offer the job market as
an advertising student?
LET ME TELL YOU...
VERSATILITY
 Design Experience
 Public Relations Writing
 Copy Editing
 Campaign Work
 Social Media
 Photography
THESE THINGS ARE WHAT MAKE
       YOU STAND OUT
THIS IS YOUR KEY TO A JOB
BUT WHAT’S THE CATCH?
IT IS ALL ABOUT HOW YOU
      EXECUTE
PEOPLE SAY COLLEGE IS THE
BEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE

SO...
TAKE LOTS OF CHANCES
     MAKE LOTS OF MOVES
YOU MISS 100% OF THE SHOTS YOU DON’T TAKE
            - WAYNE GRETZKY
SCARED?
You don’t have time to be.
Take a chance.
Poll:
How many of you have taken an
internship?
How many of you are seniors and have
completed or are completing more than
1 internship?
EXPERIENCE IS THE KEY
TO GETTING A JOB.
BUT WHAT IF YOU DON’T
KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO
DO?
OR WHAT KIND OF INTERNSHIP YOU WANT...
THINK OF IT THIS WAY...

 INTERNING IS LIKE DATING
 - IT’S NOT ALWAYS LOVE
 AT FIRST SIGHT
SO YOU
BECOME AN
INTERN
 Go above and beyond
 Set goals
 Don’t miss an opportunity
 Do things that scare you
Offer help, work from home - BE THE BEST
Set the Bar
 Stand out.
 Get to work early.
 Get to know people.
 Ask questions.
 Create.
 Speak Up!
Don’t get the
UNPAID INTERN SYNDROME
   “I don’t get paid so I can....”
Your boss is watching you,
and their recommendation is
priceless
